have such a high point spread uh the Celtics right now are anywhere from a 14 and a half to 15p point favor and a low total of 205 a half uh it makes it increasingly difficult to handicap a game like that number one I’m not a big proponent of laying a big number ever in the NBA uh let alone at this time of year I have done it i’ done it earlier in the season or series with the Boston Celtics and came out on top but this isn’t one of those situations I’m willing to do so so I’m going to go to an alternative method and that’s the team total on the Boston Celtics and uh I’m going to give you my Cavaliers and you know here’s the thing I had Oklahoma City uh on on Monday I had last night I had the New York Knicks yesterday it took a little Flack for making that pick and they won by 30 um over to Indian Pacers and a couple of the comments now I encourage all the comments and it’s okay if you don’t agree with what I have to say or you don’t agree with my logic but I’m gonna give you give you an opportunity at any time to do that now you’re gonna have to hear me out a couple of gentlemen had chimed in and say numbers don’t mean anything at this time of year numbers don’t mean anything in terms of what’s going on in a regular season now there’s some degree of Truth to that the difference between being an amateur and a pro uh like myself is the bottom line is is I am very Adept at picking out pertin numbers pertin Trends pertin betting angles to apply to part of my handicapping process I’m not married to any one specific type of handicapping and neither should you be you should broaden your Horizon on how you look at a game and if you have overwhelming I like to call it an overwhelming evidence sheet that goes to one side one total one money line whatever the case may be then you have something so I’m a numbers guy I don’t care about who’s on both sides of the ball I really don’t because like I said yesterday with the Nicks injuries um it’s all baked into the line okay so if we know about it they certainly know about it and they’re incorporating that into their number and like I said yesterday and nicks are minus two do you think they were minus to if OG an anobi or uh Mell Robinson would have been playing in that game no they would wouldn’t have been but because they accounted for their uh absences and and the general public overwhelmingly um being influenced by what they saw in game four in that blowout win against Indiana I gave you several numbers that not only in terms of the Knicks and how they do off a loss and how they do off a loss at home and how they do off a loss in conference home games these are things I want you to learn okay they’re pertinent why are they pertinent not because of just the raw data and the raw numbers but the fact that I’m making a point of how resilient the Knicks have been throughout the entire of the season and I don’t see it being any differently in that situation yesterday coming off a bad loss embarrassing loss playing before an emotional home crowd and being the resilient team they’ve been all year okay so uh you don’t beat a number unless you use pertinent numbers and anybody who tells you anything differently um look that might not be a lot of guys on this channnel style but they’re not going to criticize me for my style I’m not going to criticize them for their style but when somebody comes blatantly out and makes comments about numbers mean nothing that tells me two things they like don’t like the pick I’m making so that’s their that makes them themselves feel better by saying that or or they just are too lazy to deep do a deep dive like we do on this channel listen to Steve Merill I mean Steve Merrill’s videos he does deep dive on every game like myself and he might go even deeper than I do so all right let’s get to the game at hand the Celtics team total 110 uh since the 2022 playoffs the Celtics have played two games at home as a favorite of 10 or more with a chance to close out a series and they averaged 117.5 points per game in those two outings the Celtics are off back-to-back wins at Cleveland and in their last five when playing at home and off back to back away wins they’ve averaged over 126 points per game shot close to 55% from the field and over 43% from the three-point line the Celtics this year are averaging 123.6mi out to 111 that means 88% of the time they’ve been a home favorite in 26 games this season they’ve um tallied 111 points or more also just as a favorite in general no matter what what site they’re at uh a favorite of 10 or more they’ve scored 111 points in 33 of 39 games this year in that situation again is a favor to ten more that’s good for 85% I’m going with the Celtics team total over one 110 excuse me the Celtics
