THE MAVERICKS ARE GOING BACK TO WESTERN CONFERENCE FINALS 😀 Woj, Wilbon & RJ react πŸ‘€

let’s bring in our teammate I’m so used to having him in studio he wears a tie when he’s there in Game Richard Jefferson thank you so much for for stopping by here with our postgame show you were watching up close those final couple of seconds can you just take us inside what you saw that foul Shay gild just Alexander on on PJ Washington there well it was tough because there was a similar play and this wasn’t a new one this was a kind of a unique play where he did get all ball but before the ball got released that’s where the F the the foul occurred if that ball gets released then it’s not a foul and that’s what we saw with Lucas so great officiating uh we we were able to get the explanation cuz that was such a unique play but at the end of the day it comes down to PJ Washington who has had an outstanding series but he struggled tonight with early foul trouble but the big threes late and then obviously the big free throws Richard early in your career you were in the OKC position I remember you being a young pup on finals teams you know what that’s like and then later in your career as let’s just say a mature player you were on more the Dallas and then some end of this what’s the difference especially when you come down the the stretch and trying to execute and finish off a game like this being a young player like all those guys on OKC or being the vet and Dallas certainly has one in Kyrie Irving honestly they’re such different experience when you’re a young player you’re excited to be there you have such a belief in yourself and you saw that all year long in OKC but also the veteran side that we talked about with Kyrie Kyrie did not shoot the ball uh in the first half and that second have you knew it was coming he got aggressive on every single play but there’s a young guy over there that we have to mention Derek Lively what he did was so special so impressive hitting free throws getting rebounds offensive rebounds his play in the second half was what really to me catapulted them to get that run started it was you can’t speak enough about the young player and all the that he has gone through to come and have this performance in an elimination game at home it was very impressive Richard we we’ll talk plenty about Dallas here as they advance to the next round but this Oklahoma City team uh and the experience this young group got in the postseason number one seed in the west uh you know really we’ve never seen a team this young achieve as much as this group did how valuable is this experience this series going to be for this group when they come back next year oh it is so valuable I was very fortunate as you guys mentioned to go to the NBA finals my rookie year we were a much better team a much more confident team we understood the emotional swings that come with playoff series but I will say this they missed the window OKC every pundit was talking about they needed to solidify their roster we talked so much about their future and the talent and all the picks that they have but to not go get a big when you have Minnesota on one side you got Denver on the other side and then you saw what Dallas did bringing in gaffard drafting Lively and then also when you talk about PJ Washington they have so many picks but they never Ed one to go get a player they needed another big they got outrebounded tonight 31- 47 I understand that they might be ahead of schedule but at some point in time you have to recognize that this team was capable of going to the NBA finals in my opinion they were probably one or two players away and that was a missed opportunity in my opinion I think this moment is going to fuel them all summer long because they know they have the pieces we’ve heard the the Jaylen Browns talk about this sort of thing but I’m going to be talking about this we’ll get back to that for a long time jerk I think you speak for so many of us here when you put Richard in a little bit of a a headlock there before before the game yeah this is the thing about my relationship with pretty much everyone they love to hate me and they hate to love me Dirk is amazing he was sitting next to us the entire game we are making you know gentleman bets on charges and blocks but he’s such an ambassador for the game I love that man and yes he’s the only person that can choke me in the middle of my of my open on ABC so I I’ll allow Dirk to do that but don’t any other players get any more ideas we can hum some bars of Donna Summer Love to Love You for Rich that’ll work for want rich thank you so very much rest we’ll see you soon um but we were just kind of speaking of the the Heartbreak that Oklahoma City just experienced this is going to fuel them also somewh long we heard uh the the Jaylen Browns talk about how after they went to the NBA finals and didn’t quite get to the Mountaintop all he did when people came up oh congratulations you had such a great run all he did was think about I don’t want to be congratulated listen you go to older teams how about the Spurs after they already won four championships yeah they lose to Cleveland on the Ray Allen I mean yeah on the ray to Miami on the Ray Allen shot the whole winter Greg papovich they already got Rings full of fingers Duncan and jobble and Parker and pop and they that’s all they talked about how angry they were over that offseason to get back and try to win it this is such a young team even the Jaylen Brown Celtic team you talk about had been around for a while absolutely shed holgren is a rookie uh Jaylen Williams both Jaylen Williams you know second-year players this is a group that to to to do this in their first real season together usually teams who missed the playoffs for two years and are coming out of the lottery they re-enter the orbit in at the seventh seed the eighth seed right they were the number one seed in a loaded Western Conference they’ve got $30 million in cap space this summer if they decide they want to improve somewhere this Oklahoma City team you’d better beat them now because certainly you can see a rivalry here you know that L Dort Luca donic matchup this isn’t the last we’ve heard of I think even these two teams competing we’re going to be seeing these two for for years to come but for now it’s Dallas that moves on so if you were the Mavericks who are you rooting for tomorrow oh you’re rooting for Minnesota you don’t you nobody wants to say they’re going to take on the Champions out boldly not when they appear to be healthy not when they if they get through a game seven they’re still the Champs the defending League champions you want somebody else no matter what you say publicly this is a Denver team holding serve at home this would be a massive Conference Final with those two teams but I can’t wait [Music] he

  1. The best part of this series wrapping up is that we no longer have to mute the TV every time RJ speaks. I like listening to broadcasters who find joy in the game versus this negative, pompous, asshat.

ESPN, of all the current and former players this is the best you could do?

  2. It wasn't the foul, it was a respectable contest of the shot. It was the timeout wasted on the challenege. Even if all 3 ft went it, a timout would advance the ball, and give an organized posession to keep the game going.

  3. REggiee is such a Luka hater. DUring the game, he's praising SHai like crazy for doing simple middies while Luka close the gap and literally made contested shots – crickets… ESPN is a joke

  4. I’m not sure why everyone picked OKC when the series started. I’ll take Luka, Kyrie, and Coach Kidd over this OKC team all day.

  5. As a Mavs fan. They are young.
Take away Kyrie and they are really young….but young or not.
Those bigs are stepping up and Kyrie seem to be the leader while Luka is the leader on the court.
They are very scary and will be very good as long as Kyrie is around.
