FIRST TAKE | Cry more – Shannon RIPs OKC fans after Luka & Mavs beat “weakest #1” Thunder 4-2 series

to the NHL let’s start with a possible close out here for Dallas taking on OKC Big Time spot and you know who’s in the house with the M’s biggest game of the season the guy that led them to their to Washington Washington is fouled by SGA that’s a tough angle there Shay to see but take a look here no doubt right all over the left arm right no doubt about it so he’ll go to the line 4 three he’s three for seven at the line in this series got 116 a piece now you can breathe they’ve got the lead now you got to going to miss this one cuz you need the Ricochet here for the Thunder decent opportunity Williams the heave to extend their season Off the Mark a last second free throw barrage wins it for Dallas here’s Luca with Cassidy Hub you’ve talked about how this team is fun for you guys and it’s only been a couple months why is this Conference Finals going to be different for you yeah I mean obviously we’re going to go against a really hard team it’s either Denver or Minnesota uh but today I think today we should enjoy this win uh big respect to OKC they have an amazing team they’re very young but it don’t seem they seem very experienced uh obviously Shai it’s amazing the way he plays uh so big respect to them uh so today we’re going to celebrate this and then tomorrow well tomorrow I’m going we’re going to rest uh but then we got to watch the game seven of that and just be ready for next game uh I’m doing my best not to be so emotional right now cuz it’s just this this was probably the hardest series that I’ve ever had to go into and uh it felt like it and all the pain and all the sacrifices were worth it so when you get that Vindication and you can close out uh a team number one team in the Western Conference it feels good um but I wouldn’t be here without all the great teammates I’ve had throughout my career and um big shout out to them and this is just our moment and I think it’s time we enjoy it and nobody wins 12 straight championships so like you know the chances that I’m to feel this at some point again uh you know is is uh definitely there but um you know I’m going to do everything in my power to you know avoid this feeling again I shouldn’t have found him uh we talk about it all yeah the little things that go into winning games um and being disciplined and it sucks um obviously if I had the moment back I wouldn’t have fou him um and just let him make or miss the shot uh but yeah basketball you win some you lose you make mistakes have you seen the replay no I can’t look at it but I they looked at it and I sem IOU they at it and still didn’t overturn it pretty clear you saw it he’ll eventually see it MBS trailed by 16 at the half marks the franchise’s largest halftime comeback in playoff history and the fourth largest halftime comeback in a series clinching win in league history the Mavs eliminate the number one seed OKC Thunder 117 to 116 to reach the Western Conference Finals remember the headline that everybody said about me oh I said OKC y’all really think they going to the Western Conference Finals y’all think they go to the NBA finals I ain’t want to say I told look at this o look what they got up there look what they said now I want them to run I want them to run un was right with the same passion right you see now listen OKC did put up a great fight OKC put up a great fight but obviously the experience number one SE not supposed to put up great fights number one seed supposed to win I know but but but but Shay Shay Shay over there I I’m not gonna say by itself you know Shay you know he got Jaylen Williams he got shed H but it’s not enough it’s not enough to go against that three that three-headed muscle over there with the Mavs and Dallas now that goddamn Kyrie and Luca and obviously PJ Washington I’m G talk about PJ a little bit because he started off real bad tonight he started off Bight he got in foul trouble early but that second half them key them key threes that he did hit Y in that game to seal it the two free throws and the freee throws talk about clutch I’m not calling them Kobe but I’m saying PJ Washington was kobish Oh you mean Kobe AI KOB you must be hot dog I’m just saying but but having the first half like he had then then being able to make those shots in a clutch situation you know because making making free throws I mean to many that are watching from home they think it’s easy oh no they think it’s so easy but understand the pressures in a game of this magnitude where you want to close it out hey that’s that difficult now that is I think the thing is look um you know I’m just giving an OKC th Thunder they’re better than I actually thought they were considering how well they perform they wouldn’t go away this is a very very young team I’m talking about really really really young I agree with you I think they need one more Superstar to pair along with Shay because he’s Sensational he been Sensational the entire series he showed why he was MVP runner up he showed why he’s going to be probably a unanimous he Luca and uh uh yoke were probably unanimous First Team all NBA players uh he showed you why he had the package he hit the three he had the mid-range but he also showed you man I ain’t got to live by the threes because he may get a lot of his buckets in the paint yeah he get a lot of his points in the mid-range he’s Sensational he I I I love watching this this young man this young man play compete I can assure you the Clippers did not see this coming uh when they but you know uh K uh Kawai he wanted a veteran player to go along with it or he was going to the Lakers and the Clippers could not afford that to happen so they got play Paul George but they had to give up Shay and a lot of first and a lot of draft picks but Shay was Sensational um they don’t have anything to yeah I understand it’s disappointing because you had the number one seed and you want to get at least to the the Western Conference Finals it didn’t happen this year and maybe they are year early so maybe next year was where they’re supposed to be where they are now maybe they were supposed to be their next year um I think if they can get one veteran a star player to pair along with Shay because they they got everything I love Chad Chad does a great job of contesting a lot of shots he can shoot the three ball he’s a h uh block he can defend the rim he uh lobs he got great at hovering around the basket getting rebounds and put back but tonight you saw when it came down to it you had uh Derek Jones was early that second half three after three after three he had 22 points Kyrie got going late got G in the second half he had 22 points Luca had a triple double with 29 10 and 10 yeah I don’t know if they would have ever got to that lead but the turnovers the Mavericks whomever they play in the next round they’ve got to eliminate they got to cut down on those turnovers because you look at go ahead yeah I was going to say you look at the turnovers they had in this game and as you get to the Eastern Conference Finals Western Conference Finals what whatever it may be when you play a better team you won’t be able to overcome some of those turnovers because when you when you turn those ball over when you turn the ball over the better team that you’re going to play You’re Going to capitalize and get points off of those and you’re going to put yourself in a goddamn hole and you’re not going to always be able to dig out dig out of it even though the game of basketball is a game of runs yes it’s a game of runs you know momentum shifts but as you play better teams that have better scoring output which is what you’re going to face in the next round you’re not going to be able to recover all the goddamn time considering the Mavericks outrebounding by 16 total they out rebounding by seven on the offensive glass so you’re thinking oh man this going to be easy but they turned the ball over 18 times which led to 27 points for the Thunder that’s why the game was closer than what it really needed to be considering how you dominated the offensive glass how you dominated total rebounds but you allow the team to stay in the ball game because you turn the ball over think about it uh the Mavericks shot 47% from the floor they shot 16 of 34 from the three but when you turn the ball over like that you allow team you’re gonna allow teams to stay in ball games and sometimes it comes back to bite you in the butt uh OKC’s going to kick themselves because they had a 17 they had 11-point lead at one time they got it Whittle down they stretched it back up to 17 and they they they lost it so they’re gonna find the and that’s what happens you’re young team you got to find ways to hold on to that lead you gotta find out ways to get stops but I think Jason kid had a very strategic move in the second half he went to his own defense yeah that allowed them to because they were going make it they were going bucket for bucket I was like you can’t win the game they gotta lead you can’t play Go bucket for bucket right you won’t catch up right so he went to that zone it allowed them to get back into the ball game they went away from it they went out on again he went back to the Zone again and I think that was a very great strategic move by Jason kid going to that zone he went to it twice it served him well both times and guys started to make shots and they did a great job job but OKC they’ll be back this is a young gritty team and a hungry team Jaylen Williams going to get better but I think in order in order for them to get to that next level because guess what the Nuggets not going away uh uh uh uh Minnesota definitely not going away away right let’s see what happens with the Warriors what can they reto with uh if they get another guy if can if Kay coming back um I think um Sacramento if if Zion can stay healthy right New Orleans going to be to deal with so there’s a lot you know everybody’s Gonna Get You keep saying jayen Williams gonna get better but I think the Western Conference as a whole will continue to get better so I I have a question that’s a good thing we talk about OKC and how good they were obviously being the number one seed going into the playoffs and you say a veteran presence is also needed to pair with Shay and shett who’s a veteran who is a great piece who is the Great Piece that would be willing to go play with the young team that’s the thing that’s the thing oo you’re probably oo they got seven eight nine first round picks they got seven eight nine second round picks you might be having to willing to give up some of those first round picks and get maybe go get a Brandon Ingram maybe go get one of the yeah go get a proven commodity right because the likelihood of you being able to attract someone ain’t nobody going to OKC it ain’t happening no it ain’t happing is it that bad what’s wrong with

  1. Luka gets no credit for his passing and play making! Why did PJ make those 3’s? Because Luka drove in collapsed the defense and passed him the ball for wide open threes… why was d jones jr open for every three he made and took? LUKA! Why don’t people talk about his assists and rebounds and his awesome scoring? MVP

  2. The only problem I had with SS before is that it was obvious he was critiquing them and hadn't watched them. Now, it's obvious he got to watch them and now respects them. With that said, they don't need another super start, they've already got two: Dub and Chet – they just haven't turned into super starts yet. Next year they'll be that much better and the year after that, stars. What they need is a 4-5 year vet big. Not too old as to disrupt the youthful flow, but someone with some experience. I think Jarrett Allen would be a great fit. Defending and rebounding. There's also been talk of Markkanen, who would fit in with great 3 point shooting and would space the floor even more, plus scoring and rebounding. The only thing with him is that he's never played more than 70 games. In the end, Sam Presti will no doubt make the right moves this off season and you should expect to see OKC in the conf finals if not the finals.

  3. If you think SGA was more deserving of the MVP than Luka then you don't understand basketball….that includes idiot big men like Shaq who got where they were solely on physical stature 😂😂

  4. SGA is the "smoothest" scorer I have ever seen and I am OLD and played in college. Everything he does is smooth and effortless. But…..he is not Luka.

  5. Lmao I don't Understand this SGA needs another superstar talk, How is that even going to work, SGA needs a lot of the ball to be able to function and what's worse is he's not like Luka and Trae who can get their teammates involved even with their ball heavy style, Shai is not that, If you get another superstar SGA would either have less of the ball and score significantly less or the other superstar will be the one who is not as effective as they would be on their own, If SGA was better at getting his teammates involved they wouldn't need another superstar

  6. Shay say Okc was ahead of schedule…Dallas Ahead of schedule as well at the beginning of season the goal was playoffs Dallas was #1 in injuries Got Healthy made trades in feb. And then the goal went to make second round by beginning of april the goal changed now to championship win or lose we already surpassed the season goal..Big D Gone Be a Problem For A Min…P.s SGA is Older Then Luka, Lively just turned 20 and Kyrie With Us Another 3 We In Good Hands🎯🎯🎯

  7. So when Luka came in to the league by himself before Dallas got kyrie. Luka was doing it way better then SGA by himself against clippers and phoenix and that was before he was 25

  8. They said dort was gonna lock up the boy wonder mr Luka magic. The only problem was that noone told dort 🤣🤣

  9. Narrative: 1# seed OKC old enough to sweep the Pelicans, too young to win against the Mavs. Shai > Luka. Something wrong is not right. Hmmm…

  10. Sure OKC was No.1 after the regular season, however the west this year was very close,.. first 6 teams were in top 7 in all NBA (only Boston from the east is on this level). Dallas was no.5 but if you'd have watched their games it was clear that they were better than that after P.J. and Gafford joined. So NO,.. eventhough OKC was No.1, they were not clear favorites at all. I called Dallas the favorites but I was aware that it should be a big battle.

  11. Luka is the biggest hypocritical baby in the game rn. Clown the opponents for flops but cry over everything that isn’t called your way. It’s cringing to watch

  12. "#1 seeds not supposed to put up great fights. They supposed to win." 🤣🤣 ~ Shannon

  13. Wouldn’t have been so clutch if PJ made the free throws before. Also if there wasn’t a foul on that 3 mavs had the rebound and putback.

  14. Luka, Kyrie, PJ and Jones Jr. were excellent, but I feel like Lively won them this series. He was bullying Chet on the offensive glass all series and gave the Mavs so many extra possessions while also being very solid defensively.
I wouldn't be surprised if he becomes an all-star next year.

  15. Stupid all these guys saying Okc needs to bring in another all star. They just need to keep growing like they’ve been doing.

  16. OKC was 1 seed with home court and lost in 6. Mavs are LEGIT. LuKai is 💯 best duo in NBA. Kyrie is better than Jamal Murray by a fair margin.

  17. OKC doesn't need another all star. Jalen Williams is already that caliber and Chet will develop. What OKC needs is a good rebounding big, so they don't get overpowered by the bigger teams.

  18. U cant take nothing from okc but that lead that they had i will say they shouldnt have been in that position at the end though but they have my respect but dealing with Luka an Kryie is a diffrent level
