San Antonio Spurs Are EXTREMELY Interested In Trading For D’Angelo Russell!

so even though D’Angelo Russell didn’t exactly have the best series out there in the playoffs he is getting a ton of interest from a bunch of different teams in the NBA and I’m not exactly too sure if this is a really good thing for the Lakers or a really bad thing before I do get into some of the teams that are of course interested I think it’s very obvious that I have to state that with how the Lakers are going right now they want to trade D’Angelo Russell they don’t want DLo to just leave in free agency because they’re going to want to trade him to use him as a piece to try and get either a good role player or two back or to potentially go after a star like Trey young as we have seen them obviously interested in again he does have a $20 million or so player option that he can choose to accept or decline again a lot of people thought that was going to be a lock to accept because of some of the issues he had but then some other people were arguing well no he actually had a lot of really really good games and some of the games where he just wasn’t doing too good might not have been his fault completely clearly a bunch of teams in the NBA have seen this you know and are looking to try and sign him one of the ones who the Lakers I think would like would be the Orlando Magic just because in order for Orlando to of course go for him they would have to do a trade where the Lakers might be able to get a good role player or two in return maybe even a pick but unfortunately for them it is being reported that the San Antonio Spurs is the Lakers biggest competition for D’Angelo Russell which is being reported by Jovin buah now again this would be pretty catastrophic most likely for the Lakers because I believe if the Antonio Spurs wanted to go out and get D’Angelo Russell there’s only a couple moves that they would have to make where they could probably just outright sign him again we know the Spurs are going to be doing a ton of Trades like they’re not in the best salary cap position right now but it’s reported they’re going to be doing a lot of traes a ton of teams previously came for Kellin Johnson who is on about 20 million per season now who looks like he could be a really good six-man in the NBA I wouldn’t be surprised if someone offered the Spurs a first round pick for him he might be shipped off which is again 20 million free outside of Kell Johnson there’s obviously a ton of other players who the Spurs could potentially trade to free up some cap Devonte Graham only has one year left of 12.6 million again it’s going to be very hard to get rid of him but if they were to throw in a late first round pick or a bunch of seconds that salary can definitely be obviously dumped again Trey Jones has has been very good for this San Antonio Spurs team on about 10 million he’d be an awesome backup point guard for this team but again I’m sure A team out there might see some more value in him and offer a late first round pick or something like that and then for everyone else like players like Zach Collins obviously wanyama is is the main is the main one and a couple other guys here and there they’ll they’ll be staying for the reality is the Spurs they are freeing up salary cap again Marcus Morris on 16.3 million is expiring Reggie Bullock on 11 million is expiring cam bur on 7 million is expiring Jed Olman on near 7 million is expiring and campaign on 6.5 million is expiring again a ton of salary will be reliefed there the only players that will be paying are Wan yama’s 12 million of course you’ll have Devon vel’s $30 million deal soan is only on about 5 million and Collins’s on 16 million they will easily have enough salary cap to try and go out and get a player like D’Angelo Russell now does Russell really fit that Spurs team in my eyes no I would probably go out and try and get a more prolific playmaker to try and put alongside Victor wanyama we know that DLo and his playmaking just hasn’t exactly been that good at all especially with the Lakers when they needed him to be a Handler and a playmaker he just wasn’t able to do it for them at all again we obviously know that Austin Reeves took the majority of the ball handling off LeBron when he needed a break and again a couple other players here and there like gave Vincent chipped in DLo just does not look to be a very good playmaker in the NBA anymore he just seems to be a pretty good shot Creator who can be pretty accurate when he’s on from three points now again I don’t believe the Spurs should go out and get D’Angelo Russell especially if they’re of course got the cell on the team I just don’t think you need two heavy scoring players in that you know backourt I think you can get a scorer but also a really good playmaker at the same time to be your point guard position or go go for someone even cheaper who a veteran playmaker like Chris Paul who I’ve previously mentioned who would actually work really well with wanyama and would be able to teach that team a ton of really really good things again to me it’s it’s a weird choice but also in saying that if that is what they do think they need is scoring and just shooting there will be a ton that they can of course a ton of players they can of course you know go out and get but if they think it is Dow it would be interesting if they kept Johnson and just said look we’ve got our scorers here now wanyama we’ve got of course D’Angelo Russell cin Johnson and Devin Vel if they put some defense maybe on those forwards or whatever and was still with wanyama scoring maybe they think they can accomplish something again I don’t see a sign and trade really happening with dolo unless the Lakers really wanted to pursue a guy like Zack Collins who again Zack Collins is a really underrated power forward/center he actually played really well for the Spurs I think in a lot of parts this year he would be really interesting to see on this team I also feel like he would work pretty well with Anthony Davis so maybe the Lakers say look maybe you can’t fit D’Angelo Russell in fully but if you gave us Zack Collins in a first round pick we can maybe work something out again the Lakers would save a couple millionar off this trade as well they would get a first round pick involved and Zack Collins who again sometimes work for San Antonio but sometimes didn’t would would definitely be a good answer for that Lakers team cuz I think he would be able to play of AD but also just a backup guy because obviously we know the backup bigs really didn’t do it for the Lakers this year they practically couldn’t play Jackson Hayes in a lot of the playoffs I don’t even know what happened to Christian Wood in the end man but obviously yeah maybe maybe that’s the move they do maybe the Lakers look at Zack Collins they could even say look give us Zack Collins and Trey Jones and we call it a deal for for D’Angelo Russell If DLo signs for a $25 million deal that would literally match up contracts and Trey Jones would be a good playmaker and a good ball handler for that Lakers team he would arguably be too similar to Gabe Vincent though that’s that’s probably the problem there but obviously Zack Collins would be a prized player to bring in if you could bring in Collins in a first round pick for Dow I think you’ve actually done yourself a decent trade especially if that was the option to instead of dowlo just leaving for free look you’re taking Collins in a first round pick cuz that works with the Lakers team works with Anthony Davis and that first round pick can obviously
