KOC writes about the split that might exist between Booth & Malone:

Good Article- the DNVR crew was talking about this after the game on Sunday – and we know KOC was listening as he gave them a thanks and a superchat! (not saying he's copying their take though, just saying)

The blurb about Booth’s contract is very interesting. I really hope there isn’t a larger power struggle brewing between Malone and Booth, although I’m pretty sure Kroenke would pick Malone over Booth

I think it’s the tendency of both guys because of their jobs. Booth is the guy tasked with thinking long term while Malone is focused on trying to win with the roster year to year.

Honestly a very tricky predicament for Booth- retaining KCP and MPJ will make this team too expensive to sign anyone impactful. With Malone having little faith in rookies- expect the same gassed results for the starters next year.

It’s a controversial opinion but I think Booth was saddled with a tricky predicament when he took over- MPJ signed to a max contract that really hamstrings the ability to build the team beyond the draft. Will he trade MPJ for some roster construction flexibility or wait and see if Malone plays the young players. Not sure what he should do but these crucial decisions are coming down the pipe.

I think how the contracts are set up for booth and Malone we are going to see this year as the prove it year for booth 2024-2025. And then the year after that 2025-2026 is going to be the prove it year for Malone if we have another early exit from the playoffs.

That being said I think the pressure for Booth to do something big is on him now. Which really outside of trading MPJ there aren’t many options he has an available.

Booth is probably regretting some of the comments he made in October

I’m more aligned with Booth’s vision and I dislike Malone’s coaching vision with the bench rotations because it doesn’t work with Booth’s goals. Too stubborn, no playoff bench experimentation, fixed rotations. He only plays certain players in his circle of trust.

Booth’s vision makes sense though with developing talent because I don’t know if we’ll sign another quality 6 man such as Bruce Brown again. We’ll be left with worse bench pieces like Jackson and Holiday.

Kroenkes really fucked up by letting Tim Connelly go. The current roster will not be easy to fix. Murray or MPJ will likely be traded at one point, but for what? A skilled GM is needed, and Booth still has to prove himself.
