Replay here clearly shows the ball coming down within the cylinder, regardless of whether it was going in or not you cannot interfere with the ball within the cylinder. Cut and dry. Black and white. Tough call for Wolves fans, but it was the right call.

The entire ball is neither above or not above the cylinder. So to clarify the rule, no part of the ball can be over the cylinder right?

I thought it was clear and that you could see it on the top-down view over the backboard. There is a perspective issue when the ball is high in the bounce and close to the camera, but it looked just like that when his hands came into contact with the ball.
