I feel encouraged that as bad as we played, we only lost by 3, and Dallas got a lift from that somewhat sketchy putback call on Towns.

  2. We also played awful and still barely lost by 3 in a game where luka and kyrie went off. Im confident in our team for game 2 and this series

  3. In the 12 incidents prior to this year, the record for series wins is 2-10. 2022 Celtics and 2019 Raptors are 2 winners. Only 1 won the championship.

Doesn’t mean a ton, but more context is good.

As I noted the energy was way off coming off a very emotional high winning game 7 on the road. Prime for a let down in game 1 so I’m not surprised by this statistic at all. I think the players also noted it after the game about lack of urgency.

Kenny Smith also noted this in the post game but of course the others just clowned him 🙄. The key is how you respond so we will see come Friday!

The team that wins Game 1 goes on to win the series 77 percent of the time.

I’m reacting over how shitty we played in game one.

No energy. No excitement. No focus.

Where the fuck was our defense?!

I was never gonna overreact to that game. I could tell from the beginning they weren’t playing like themselves. It was obvious with how many times there was just a Mav wide open under the basket with no Wolf in sight. I think they were even surprised by it, you could see them look around quick like “am I really this open? okay”.

It’s a long tough grind in the playoffs. They had a stinker and still could have won anyways. The way this team has shown up this season and especially in these playoffs has bought them a lot of belief from me. They are going all the way, and if they don’t oh well! I know it won’t be because they choked. They play hard, they fight, they never give up on themselves.

It’s been an awesome season, love this team. If they don’t win it this year it’ll be soon.

Yea, 4 of the wolves starters were bad and 1 backup. Mavs had 1 backup play bad and they won by 3 with wolves missing 7 free-throws. They just need to play harder and be FOCUSED.

I wonder how those teams faired in those series overall?

This stat makes sense. Wolves looked flat. Though Kyrie might be a challenge for ANT. I’m looking forward to that match-up.

What sucks is there is no extended rest in the conference finals. We play every other day until it’s over.

Game 7s are an emotional roller coaster. Almost always have trouble with the hard reset into the next series. Gotta bounce back though.

I have no worries about the game one loss. It was a team effort for that to happen. But all of our sexy wins have been huge team efforts. I didn’t help seeing ANT exhausted for once to the point he was. Maybe their game plan was to wear him out and pick us apart?

Either way I see game 2 going the right way. Time to adjust and for fuck sakes let ANT have some breaks if he likes it or not. I’d rather have a some what rested ANT for the last 3 than a tired ANT that’s tired all 4th

Ah yes , 2011. Funny….Mavs also won game one in those wcf. Hmm who won the trophy again? Can’t remember. (Sorry I’m trolling. Love y’all)

  15. Broseph_Bobby

    I’m not over reacting.

It is just disappointing when we had the win and let it slip away.

  16. Artichokedme

What % of those 14 ended up winning the series?

  17. bomonty18

Mavs fan here. I haven’t really seen any Twolves fan overreact. It’s just game 1. This series just getting started. I expect y’all to come out pretty strong next game and I also expect us to shoot better from 3.

Should be a great game 2

No excuses, but here’s an excuse

It’s not even they played an extra game, it’s how intense the game was.  They will be fine.
