[Lonzo Ball] reveals that a meniscus was donated to him: “I had to get new meniscus from a donor, I had to get a bone allograft and I had to get some new cartilage put in as well”

> I mean, after all of that just living an active adult life pain free would be a success. Pro basketball is bonus at that point.
>Can’t recall any cases of an elite athlete getting a meniscus transplant and returning to play at a high level (doesn’t mean it isn’t out there, just not anyone I’m familiar with)
Sutterer has a pretty big Youtube channel where he discusses NBA/NFL injuries as they happen and predicts timelines/recovery. He doesn’t work for the NBA directly but is a pretty good follow for info on sports injuries.

It was me. I traded my meniscus for a pair of Big Baller Brand shoes but didn’t consider that now I can’t ball in them because I don’t have a meniscus.

Now we know what LiAngelo was for. One of three was bound to not make the NBA and become spare parts for the other two.

Woahhhh so there’s a piece of a dead guy in Lonzo Ball? Sickkk

New meniscus, new cartilage, and new bone? Dude has the Knee of Theseus now, nothing in that joint is his originally
Kommander-in-Keef
Here’s hoping he can get back into the league. You never wanna see a young hard working players body break down before they turn 30
EyeAmAyyBot
Holy shit I didn’t realize they could graft meniscus into the knee. Gives me a lot of hope for my future mobility coming off of three ACL tears out of college
ghdtyjksbjt
Damn he’s had significant injuries and surgeries already at age 26, doubt he’ll have a long career. A shame because he’s obviously very talented
Crafty-Fish9264
I’ve had menisectomy on both knees. He is done. He will try to play cause it’s his contract year and he might get some months out of it but yea it’s a wrap on being normal
Purple-Peace-7646
This dude is done with basketball. Fuckin shame too cuz he was really figuring it out and that Bulls team was fun for a minute.

A full meniscus transplant? It was a good career Lonzo
Zers503
This kinda sounds like Brandon Roy’s knee condition. No meniscus and have bone on bone rubbing.

People out here just donating meniscuses these days, modern medicine is insane
EntertainmentFit3288
They couldn’t figure out what the problem was? That you had no meniscus left? Wouldnt that be easy for a medical professional to spot straight away?
awntawn
They went on reddit and started DMing all the people who said “Lonzo take my knee”
jonnysh
wait all those “Lonzo take my knee!!” posters weren’t joking?
jumboponcho
That doesn’t sound like something you should play elite level basketball on
Rev_Glazer
Lookin like Mao Zedong in that fit.

Man I just hope he suits up again. Having your life dream given and then taken from you so suddenly has to be a horrible experience for him

At this point I’m pretty sure I’ll be reading the Winds of Winter before I ever watch this guy play basketball again

I’ve never heard of that before
Someone should donate him a nicer pair of glasses too
Damn fans always joke about donating their knees or ACLs to players, but this dude actually did it.
Wait you can get a new meniscus? Sign me up if it means you avoid the long term arthritis from not having one.
