Kenny Atkinson – believed to be a serious candidate
Jeff Van Gundy – apparently one of his sources said he should be a serious candidate but doesn’t know if he actually is, so this seems like it’s not happening
Terry Stotts – Pluto’s favorite candidate but he hasn’t been interviewing anywhere. Wants to seen him as the offensive coordinator.
James Borrego – only a tiny paragraph on him, but a source said to watch for him as well.
Other notes – we’re believed to hire a coach who’s had head coaching experience. Cavs are also expected to have their pick on who they want as a head coach since this is the most desirable job on the market.

Pluto likes the oldest candidate? What a shocker.
PolarRegs
Pluto has no sources with the Cavs. He just speculates all the time.

I’d forgotten about Stotts. However from what I remember he got a lot of the criticism that JB got — couldn’t make adjustments in the playoffs. He’s definitely a better offensive coach though, and the defense is pretty much set here.
JVG has been out for so long I think that’s a very dangerous hire.

Van Gundy would be my choice. Always loved him as a coach, but it’s been ages.

Kenny Atkinson with Stotts as “OC” AssocHC. Boom solved…Chip.

Real surprised Condoleezza Rice isn’t on this list.

Makes sense that the Cavs are the most desirable spot to coach at. This off season we’re expected to extend two members of the Core 4 and trade the other two, meaning not only will the Cavs have a solid duo as their foundation, they’ll have significant avenues to filling out the rest of the roster. Couple that with the fact that outside of Boston the east is wide open and making the ECF is very achievable.

If it ends up being JVG I’ll fucking riot

They take a step backward next year unfortunately. Should have kept JB.
