What has been, is we ended up with Trae Young in some form of exchange for Luka Doncic. Still don’t know the full details on how that works or what happened with that deal. What will be, is an Atlanta Hawks championship with Trae Young at the wheel, happening through my own sheer force of will (in an ideal world at least).

We should be more upset at the fact this front office did not invest in giving Trae the right supporting cast. I’ll take it with a grain if salt. He’s trying to protect his son, which is the right thing to do. However, Ray Young is emotionally involved, which makes the claim tenuous at best. We gotta stop being homers and let the process play out. Two things can be true: Luka is the better player, but the Mavericks put the right pieces around him to succeed. It also doesn’t make sense to trade Trae Young this offseason since we don’t own our first round pick in 2025.
