  1. To be really honest he also let jamal hit the buzzer beater.. but certainly ad deserved dpoy over gobert

But he’s still playing. AD is in Cancun. Can’t really talk.

Rudy is a great paint presence. It’s just that his perimeter defense is exploitable. Thankfully he has NAW/ANT/McDaniels to do that dirty work for him.

DPOY is such a silly award for missing this context. “Rudy is DPOY but he can’t play d on the perimeter, where most of the contemporary NBA is centered around”

That’s like saying giving someone the best offensive player award and they can’t make free throws or 3s

Yall forgot Jamal was hitting game winners over AD or smth?

The more I see this post season, the more I want to run it back with a halfway competent head coach.

This team, even with its flaws, was closer than I thought to making some real noise.

Love AD. Like I think he’s a better overall defender than Gobert.

But man, good chance Luka would still hit that shot even if AD was guarding him lmao.

    He’s him bro.

AD and Gobert played the same amount of games this year so if you trying to go with the Street clothes moniker it doesn’t work

  8. Latarjet3

Yet our next HC didn’t vote for him any team all defense

AD can’t talk. Teams exploited him from the three-point line all year.

    * When Anthony Davis was on the floor, opponent 3PT% increased by 3.3%.
    * When Anthony Davis was on the floor, opponent corner 3PT% increased by a whopping 13.3%.

It was EVEN WORSE in the Playoffs:

    * When Anthony Davis was on the floor, Denver’s 3PT% increased by 23.4%.
    * When Anthony Davis was on the floor, Denver’s corner 3PT% increased by 19.7%.
    * When Anthony Davis was on the floor, Denver’s eFG% increased by 12.6%.

Those numbers are so staggeringly high that I knew you wouldn’t believe me unless I brought source: [https://i.postimg.cc/HxCTNt35/Screenshot-2024-05-24-at-11-25-08-PM.png](https://i.postimg.cc/HxCTNt35/Screenshot-2024-05-24-at-11-25-08-PM.png)

This is the guy you’re calling the Defensive Player of the Year? Please.

Let’s compare these numbers to Rudy Gobert. In the playoffs, with Rudy Gobert on the floor, opponents shoot 2.6% **worse** from three: [https://i.postimg.cc/qRf2ZW9L/Screenshot-2024-05-25-at-1-02-51-AM.png](https://i.postimg.cc/qRf2ZW9L/Screenshot-2024-05-25-at-1-02-51-AM.png)

If you’re not satisfied with data, here’s some game footage:

    * The Wolves making 5 threes over AD: [https://i.postimg.cc/sfn1y9DF/nevertheless.gif](https://i.postimg.cc/sfn1y9DF/nevertheless.gif)
    * The Nuggets making 5 threes over AD in the playoffs: [https://i.postimg.cc/BbB5FN7C/AD-no3-Den-gm1.gif](https://i.postimg.cc/BbB5FN7C/AD-no3-Den-gm1.gif)
    * The Warriors making 7 threes over AD: [https://i.postimg.cc/tCyMyt7w/ADno3.gif](https://i.postimg.cc/tCyMyt7w/ADno3.gif)

The footage clearly shows that this isn’t a scheme issue—it’s an AD issue.

Everyone’s too busy kissing AD’s ass to admit it, but the truth is, his three-point defense has been a major liability. If more people knew about this, AD wouldn’t even make an All-Defensive team. (JJ Redick knows what’s up)
