…And it’s collaborative, as it is in almost all organizations. Each has his own ideas, they bounce them off each other — and Dan Tolzman is another voice — but there has to be one final voice and that’s Ujiri’s.

    Other tidbits from the mailbag:

    On Masai’s new boss:

    >I guess technically Pelley is Ujiri’s boss, in conjunction with the full MLSE board. But I know Keith a little bit from a long time ago. He is not going to bug Masai at all.

    >And with all he has to do — run a multibillion-dollar business that includes teams, facilities, real estate, marketing enterprises — he’s got enough on his plate.

    On Draft Targets:

    >Now I think there are too many questions. But I am sure he’ll (Edey) be in their conversations.

    >There is zero chance today that the Raptors will draft Bronny James.

    On a potential Poeltl trade:

    >They win more when Poeltl plays, pretty simple answer. And if you trade him, who provides the necessary things he brings?

there always has to be one final voice in any organizational decision making process. ultimately, there is only room for one signature on a contract or a pay cheque, and in this case it’s Masai’s hand on the pen.

Masai having final say is good for us. But Doug saying we’re not picking Bronny isn’t. That almost guarantees it.

We’re not trading Poeltl. Face it, management loves this guy to death. They’ve acquired him twice, paid a top 10 pick each time, and only let him go for a superstar.

But but Bobby Webster is too blame for everything

We just spent years desperate for a capable center, now we’re arguing about trading him away. Smh

    Personally

I’d trade Jak to a contender for a late first. Draft two guys like Filipowski and Edey.

Be bad next year and get a high lottery pick and build from there around Barnes, Barrett, Quickley and the picks
