Are the Celtics unstoppable? Boston Celtics vs Indiana Pacers Game 3 preview | Hoop Streams πŸ€

[Music] Indianapolis is the memorial let’s get it let’s get it it’s going to be a big weekend with the race we can’t wait to get back in the home court 500 miles of gring grind obviously we want tyes back out there it’s on us to continue to play and bring that energy as the big race is you want to play better obviously losing losing sucks grueling grind and here they come off to a flying start Tak advantage of home court and that’s what we worked all season for being the number one seat being able to take care of business here at [Music] home and here they come ruling grind now go still one on the two as the big race is [Applause] on weekend in the Eastern Conference Final has shifted to Indianapolis the Celtics coming to town with a 20 lead while the Pacers have cought their way back from this position before unbeaten at home but can they do it without their Allstar we set the stage for a pivotal game three right now on hoop streets hello and welcome to hoop streams presented by door Dash I’m Cassy hubber alongside om young Muk and Tim bontan and we have a very special guest the Pacers Super Fan please tell me about this outfit and how long have you been coming to Pacers games I am a unicorn Transformer cyborg okay that’s exactly what you look you also look like an Indiana Pacer Road Warrior but you also more bedazzled than Thanos hey we need everything we need everything tonight we have to come Full Throttle every time we got a home game we let the genie out of the ball we work on Magic cuz this what we rock and roll shake and B we going to make this thing quick tonight can you can you play point guard think they got it they just don’t know cuz we going to floow we going to let it go we going to open up the B door baby we dripping and Ding and ripping and gold we don’t The Rock body and soul look out yeah we coming for you Boston beans yeah W they’re going to need that um just before we let you go how long does it take to get in this costume three hours I do it early and relax and then I start putting clothes on start morphing with the hair the shoes the wire the cords the batteries full of throttle and I see you’re also a CT Super Fan so you do this for Colts games too 500 people you name it I claim it I aim it w just like a bow I let it float I didn’t go okay well save some of that energy for the game because I got plenty 100% okay yeah well thank you for joining us and go go enjoy the game yeah don’t forget your side there you go thank you so much and and guys um the Pacers are going to need to believe because OT of that energy but big news with Tyrese halberton out for game three um we we heard from Rick Carlile pregame he basically said the decision was out of his hands and that you know he’s getting back better but they’ll have to figure out if he can play um and re-evaluate him again leading into Monday’s game so Tim your reaction to the news and how the Pacers have to make up for his absence I mean look coming out of game two when Tyrese left the court here in the third quarter as we’re seeing now and went to the locker room certainly felt like his series was probably going to be over at that point don’t see a guy come back from a hamstring injury like this that he’s already suffered in two days time right in these Conference Finals with the games coming every other day not a lot of time for him to heal this thing and look you’re talking about a guy who’s going to play for Team USA this summer who’s obviously just won got himself onto WNBA got a super max contract this is the guy the Pacers are building around for the next 5 years you can’t put him in a position where he potentially seriously hurts himself in a series where let’s be honest it’s not like the Pacers are in a toss up and they came into this as heavy underdogs and now Tyrese is banged up what’s the point if you’re going to have him out there he’s going to be like OG and anobi not himself listen take it from a guy who covers the Clippers and I saw Kawai Leonard out there for game and game three he was not himself and I remember telling people in the Clippers organization why even bring him back make sure he’s 100% and we’re talking about a guy who’s younger who is the Cornerstone of that franchise I would not RIS so do you kind of feel like there’s a throwing in the towel situation with with the Pacers I mean we saw them kind of I don’t think it’s throwing in the towel I just think it’s being realistic like you have to be careful with somebody with a muscle injury Chris porzingis hasmed the month with a calf strain yon Koo miss the entire first round with a calf strain Donovan Mitchell didn’t come back last round very hard injur you got a muscle injury like that you can’t tough it out like it’s just and he missed like what 10 games earlier season with the right hand and he only was real let’s be honest he played a lot of the year to make sure he qualified for all NBA he wasn’t ready to go all right so look the Pacers are down 02 other guys are going to have to step up let’s take a look at how we got here and take a recap of game two and Jaylen Brown was absolutely spectacular just hours remov from an all NBA snub uh Jaylen perhaps fueled by the lack of respect put on a show 40 points the matches playoff career high you guys remember this just two nights after his game sa three-pointer in game one the Celtics weren’t ever really in trouble in this one ended up with the 126 110 route here’s Jaylen on if the all NBA snub fueled him was there any U motivation for you um after hearing that you didn’t make in all NBA team no I want to say that what would you say I mean we two games from the from the finals so you know honestly I don’t got the time to give a kind of sounded like he gave an f um there’s a lot to get into so um in order to kind of cover a couple things let’s play a good game called news or noise and get your get your take so first up Jaylen Browns all NBA team snub makes him the most underappreciated player in the NBA news or noise I I’m going to go noise I do think he’s underappreciated I would actually say a guy who made second Team all NBA is actually underappreciated Jaylen Brunson probably more underappreciated than him uh Monica said that she would have replaced Luka donic in first team I thought that that was a little I don’t know if I I mean I understand yeah you have you have dones and Sh but look I I’m one person that did vote Jaylen Brown third Team all NBA I know it matters to him I definitely know it matters to him so I can I can understand it’s but I got to tell you something as a voter that was the hardest vot that it had was first second and third team me and Tim did not have him and We Know It Matters to him because as people who did vote him on all MBA last year which allowed him to get his contract he sent out signed letters to each each media member thanking them he certainly did for voting for him I won’t be getting that letter this year no you won’t I mean look I would say it’s noise too really it’s because the Celtics have a team full of great players all their guys stats are down across the board it’s why Jason Tatum was sixth in MVP it’s why Jaylen just missed all NBA they they’ve got Derek white they’ve got Drew holiday they’ve got Chris as porzingis all the stats are down across the board they win a title get six more wins they’re not going to worry about this stuff all right so Tim um thinking also going forward a lot of people were scratching their heads as I mentioned throwing in the towel when Rick carile pulled Pascal cakam with plenty of time on the clock in game two he said he wanted to get some fresh guys in there for energy so with 10 minutes left the Pacers gave up on game two is that news or noise I would say it’s news because it showed me that they expect tyres Albert they expected him to not play in this game now that we’re going to see 45 minutes of Pascal seak of Andrew nart of Miles Turner I think these guys are going to play maximum minutes today because they know they lose this game tyres probably isn’t playing Monday this whole thing is over they get this game series extends a little bit maybe things look different so that’s why I took it as news I think we’re going to see heavy heavy minutes for the main Pacers guys tonight for the actual question I would take it as noise I don’t think they were quitting I don’t think they were throwing in the towel I do think sometimes coaches look to see like hey my starters don’t have it I’m going to see what else other guys can do and to Tim’s point if you know Tyrese Alberton is struggling it now is the time to get those other guys ready for tonight’s game all right we’ll dive more into game three in just a bit but we have to talk about the Western Conference finals which you were there last night hardest working guy at the company both games exactly game two definitely dis didn’t disappoint so we got to talk about last night at some point we’re do 18 on the road which is insane to come back a three is Down the Hatch starting to feel it here Edwards off the leg of green IR for the lead got it Edward try and shot the two three Reed another one where would they be in this ball game without n Reed Edwards tend to shoot trying to step through and threw it away 12.8 seconds to go the play was to get Luca the ball and let Luca do what does leg stepping back for the win he got it he got it with three seconds to go Daniels will inbound it’s off to wward setting up three Dallas is won the Mavericks go up two games to none and donic is the game winner I mean I think luuka is still talking right now C can you read lips can you read you no that was English um Luca made one shot in the fourth quarter it was possibly the biggest of his career as I mentioned you were in the building last night walk me through how you read that step back game winner against the four time defensive player of the year no less so I called Jason kid afterwards when he was on the team bus and I asked him what that play is called and the play is called Miami I said Miami is in the Miami Heat he said yes everybody in the league borrows stuff from other teams and he said what they were looking for was they had plenty of time and he told Luca if you get the switch on Rudy Gober you can decide you want a two or you want a three and they basically they were not expecting Rudy Gober to switch so when they got it they got EX actly what they wanted and he said once I saw Luca do his dance I knew it was going to be a step back once he did the tango and he does the Tango right therey was really the one doing the Tango I knew it was going to be a step back and so basically look they’re up two Z what you’re seeing with Minnesota is a young team that’s still trying to learn how to win especially Anthony Edwards there are times when I watch this game I’m like Aunt this is your moment take it over take over this game and it’s still like he’s still processing everything and he’s still learning you can see it on the floor Carl Anthony towns he didn’t play the final 8 minutes he also is learning how to win and this stage so I think this is a moment where we are seeing two superstars from Dallas and their experience yes and also on the other side no experience I want to get into aunt in a second but but Tim uh just a little bit more on that shot and really Rudy goar I mean we saw postgame with Luca he kind of took a jab like I know you know I’m slow but I’m faster than Rudy gobear you and I both voted Rudy defensive player of the year but it seems like the players don’t really respect his defensive prowess what was your take on his defense there and does it impact our your thoughts on him being defensive player of the year no we had the right vote and if you look at the way that play played out there’s no guy his size in the history of basketball that could have stuck with Luca as long as he did on that play any other guy his size would have been falling on the ground Rudy actually got an okay contest on the play maybe maybe Wy might have been Maybe might be the one guy the other guy who could have been defensive play did you vote him defensive play I voted for Rudy and I will say this after that game five against joic I decided in my head I don’t think I can vote Rudy anymore but by the way Rudy did have another ISO earlier in the game and he blocked L the prior possession he did an excellent job guarding luuka in isolation got him inside the three-point line I think the one thing he did wrong there was he needed to make sure they gave up a two yeah yeah and he thought for a second he got luuka on his hip he said okay he’s going to go to the paint then he didn’t then all a he got the step back and he was cooked right look a lot of people like to clown on Rudy lot of reasons out outside of his control he’s an amazing defensive player and he’s been one of their best players that he’s been their best player for most of the playoffs and it’s been the guy that’s determined whether they’re going to win or lose game he was great in that game seven against Denver but he’s going up against a five-time first team all NBA player LCA will go down as one of the best players and he’s not a guy you want to be on an ISO island with Luka made a great play and won the game and even in that game seven when goar was on the court that was when Minnesota made their makeig come back in the second half I mean there’s a lot of stuff that’s been said about him that just isn’t accurate but it is what it is and Luca is making kind of a point that he may be the best player left in these playoffs right meanwhile the kind of anointed face of the NBA Anthony Edwards He’s struggling not only that our Dave McAn uh reported that he needed oxygen during the fourth quarter what’s your take Tim on just his struggles in the series so far and what is it about Dallas and what they’re doing or is it more on ANS I mean some of it’s Anthony Edwards coming back to Earth because everybody’s in a rush to always anoint the next great thing he’s not as good as Jason Tatum he’s not as good as Luca donic and that’s okay it’s not a crime 22 he’s 22 he’s on the ascendants and he’s going to be great but to me what these two games have shown even though they’ve been close losses for Minnesota so much of these West playoffs in particular have been about matchups you’re out west you see it all the time home Minnesota was the best team in the league equipped to stop Denver because you can put Carl towns on joic and you could have rud go bear Ling back to play help and to stop that lob to Aaron Gordon which as you know is the probably the best play in basketball now you have this match up with Dallas and Minnesota Minnesota doesn’t have a great lot of matchups for Dallas Luca can get wherever he wants and Jaden McDaniels Kyrie Irving being out there means that Anthony Edwards has to guard him he’s running out of gas and earlier in the playoffs Anthony Edwards making a ton of really difficult contested jumpers he stopped making those shots put all that together that’s why why he’s struggling that’s why it’s two Dallas Dallas basically is decided we’re going to make you shoot from the perimeter you’re not going to get to the rim which is obviously strength number two he is chasing Kyrie Irving all over the floor and if you watch one thing that has impressed move on Anthony Edwards this entire postseason run is his perimeter defense how he’s able to stay on guys like Jamal Murray out in front and block them from getting to the rim but Kyrie Irving chasing him around for an entire game that is tough especially when you got to go through screens with Lively with gaffer all these guys hitting him he’s getting tired and then on top that I do think he’s feeling a lot of pressure because there’s been a lot of hype on him going on it’s natural for a young player to believe into your hype and he wants to win this but you know what he’s got to get that experience and like I said there’s numerous times where you look you say this is a moment for Anthony over to take over the game right here do something and he has and it’s a learning experience you even hear the the the biggest stars in the game they reevaluate they learn how to take care of their bodies better they learn how to you know figure out in endurance Jason Tatum you know just two years ago changed his diet as now as a you know brand new uh chef at home just there there’s something to the longevity the endurance of a a a postseason run he’s 22 years old well and the other thing an needs to learn is operating in the pick and roll and making plays for guys cuz you saw against Oklahoma City shayo sou Xander might be the best pick and roll operator in the league outside of maybe Luca he was able to get into the paint he was able to make plays set guys up for shots it’s not at that level and he’s got to get there and that’s a big part of why Dallas has had success inside lights coming down the teams are going to get ready to come on to the court and it’s time now to see who zeroed in brought to you by door Dash and on the series shifting to Indie which you know is a huge basketball town Rick Carlile already said that he was expecting the arena to be as loud and live as it’s ever been we already saw the Super Fan um who joined us at the top of the show but I don’t know if he has anything on our next guest Matt Asen as he’s the Pacers uh owner herb Simon this is the number one Pacers fan how did you get that title well I started 1987 I came to a game with herb Simon the owner and I brought this lucky Flo and that was their first NBA playoff Victory like this I like this side a great side won their first game they said bring this guy with the Flamingo back so I came back again and I started coming to games and in 2000 I got my own season tickets and I started with the sign and the flamingo started with the Bill Buckner game in the World Series in 1986 and now now it goes all around the country all around the world I’ve been to China with the Pacers in India and everybody knows the flamingo so I spread Goodwill for the NBA and and the Pacers we have a lot of Asian Pacers fans yes and so you’ve seen so many Pacers teams how do you feel about this particular run that this team has gone on they’re young they’re fun and they love to run and the best thing Tyrese halberton is so joyful I’ve never seen a joyous joyful player like that he celebrates it he doesn’t get mean on anybody he just celebrates and smiles and skips and it’s like being a kid and I think it’s great and we hope the Pacers can keep this amazing run I never thought we’d be here this this far this guy this guy is not lying he’s been here when I covered Nick’s Pacers okay he was here Patrick Ying versus Reggie Miller all of those Gam he’s Indiana’s version of Spike League that’s right Spike sorry you didn’t make it here to Indiana for any of the games I went to New York and being a native New Yorker I know with kind of uh bad fans they don’t treat Native New Yorker how did you become a Pacers I met her Simon and it took many it took many years I I rooted for the Knicks against the Pacers and then one year it was like I finally got rid of my old girlfriend and fell in love again and I’ve been a Pacer fan and the Indiana has embraced me her Simon and the family uh you know I’m a celebrity here oh yeah but it it’s it’s Midwest it’s it’s wonderful it’s just so do you feel a responsibility today with Tyrese halberton out do you feel like you really need to bring your aame well I’m bring my a we need to have somebody else step up so it’s got to be OB to okay he’s got to be the guy to step up and fill the shoes along with everybody else TJ’s going to do it miles are going to do it but we need someone who doesn’t score out normally and I’m hoping Obie you’re watching this you come on and OB right there he’s not watching the he’s right behind us make the dunks and nothing between your legs how satisfying was it beating the Knicks it was unbelievable I I I must admit I did not go to Madison Square Garden for game seven because I didn’t want to be there if we would have lost and I would have been afraid to be there if we won cuz I know when we beat the Lakers we played the Lakers in LA in 2001 we lost game six and they still were riding we had to get a police escort out of the arena and even though I’m a New Yorker the New York fans are crazy so it was so I was up all night smiling and Le eat your heart out I love it you weren’t here and that’s why your team lost well Matt we really appreciate you joining us and and good luck and enjoy the the game today well I hope to be here for the for the finals against whoever makes it here and uh the flamingo look for the flamingo you’ll see it we look for the fling I have four grandkids so when they’re up they get to watch the game and look for poppy there oh there’s poy there you go that that makes it all well the Pacers are undefeated at home this postseason so we’ll see there’s no place like home there’s no place like home thank you so much okay you’re very welcome all right door Dash is celebrating $0 delivery fees snap a pick of any zero on the broadcast and post it on X with the hash dash pass zero and # sweep stakes and you could win prizes like like a trip to the finals maybe sitting alongside Pacers guy maybe it will maybe by the way Cass I think he’s had the same hair since since the late 0s all right so you guys we’ve arrived here in Indie um where the Pacers are hosting and exposing bostonians to their lovely city but before we left Boston um we had Boston’s favorite son G sty hit the streets find out how much working knowledge Boston fans have of Indianapolis Boston a city known for many things like hating taxes a time ago my how times have changed also known for having some of the smartest fans in sport they know just as much about their opponents as they do their own teams but what happens when a new enem is at the gate it’s time to get to know your [Music] Ops if you answer these five questions you guys can split this Dunkin gift card you won’t be able to get something for each of you but I’m sure you can split a nice large drink what is the capital of Indiana Indianapolis Indianapolis Chicago IND the Indiapolis or something one for one crushed it how many miles do they race in this Indianapolis 500 500 great three of a mile 500 you can’t stump this man Larry Bird he’s a legend you guys were not alive to see him play basketball but I’m sure your parents have told you stories can you name the college that he went to University of Indiana University of Indianapolis Indiana State he was quick with that one what the hell is a pacer it’s got to be a horse like a runner like you thought you were going to stump Jordan are you stupid someone who Paces back and forth and dribbles the ball until they shoot and then they score something like Runner Runner or Pacer like someone who sets a pace for something in the and and like a in a race congratulations the boys got all five questions correct there you go there you go let’s go go the Bros bro Gary I was just saying all those young kids probably love Gary cuz he is the Bros bro of all Bros and that was awesome um all right so time now for the main event let’s get into it uh we’re about 7 minutes away from the start of this game on ABC um so this is Tatum’s seventh postseason um he’s played Giannis three times MB three times KD twice and Steph had an MVP in opponent nine times in seven years Butler’s heat three times 12 really difficult series guys um do you think it’s fair to let Tatum have an easy series what do you mean exactly this is I mean I mean it’s it is what it is yeah it is what it is I mean look I would have Lov to see Jimmy Butler healthy I’d have love to see Donovan Mitchell healthy I’d love to see tyus halberton healthy but at the end of the day you got to get lucky to win a title and you got to go through who’s in front of you that’s what the Celtics are doing we’ve seen them time and again make life more difficult on themselves they took care of business at home even though game one was very dicey and let’s see if they can do so in games three and four get themselves 10 days off before the finals so you’re not having this whole he’s got an easy route no no whoever they play next is going to be the hardest battle for Boston hands down whether it’s Minnesota and their smothering defense or it’s going to be Luca donic and Kyrie Irving I mean I know I talked to two former champions in the last couple of days and I asked them about the Celtics and they were like Celtics offense is not as good as advertised it’s great in the regular season but when you get him in the playoff series and you give another team seven games for their defensive repair it’s a lot harder for Boston well and the thing that it was supposed to be different about it was Chris as porzingis who has a basically play the entire playoff so that’s the whole key for them they got to get him back healthy I do think though the next round is going to be incredibly tough for the boss it’ll be a tough challenge whoever they get no question and by the way Jason Tatum um he now has the most postseason points through seven seasons over the likes of Larry birds and Michael Jordan so just lay off Tatum a little bit is all I’m saying Pacer side again C Burton out for tonight due to that hamstring injury um who needs to step up in his place the most home give me my Lego building brother Miles Turner okay I’ve been in the room doing hot yoga with him tonight is the night that he all that hard work that he does all the building oh very hot very hot and he was swe yoga he was sweating like I’ve never seen before but he’s got to be the guy he’s got to be aggressive he’s got to take advantage of guys when there’s a small on him he’s got to hit those threes I need to see him be aggressive to really help this team out and cover for Tyrese halber it’s Andrew neh har T and TJ McConnell those are the two guys who really have to step up they’re going to handle the ball with Tyrese halberton out obviously Pascal cakam has to be an amazing player again tonight he’s really good the first couple games he’s got to be good again but they need nard to hit shots they need McConnell to make plays mcconell has not played well against Boston they have a lot of guys who give him a lot of trouble he’s got to play against the Knicks so I’m to have a chance another update Drew holiday was list as questionable for the game with an illness but um he’s going to be active we’ll see you know how well he plays tonight rookie rookie Ben Shepard in the starting lineup for Indiana really good shooter they could use him to knock down some threes too so uh do you think who’s going to be the star of the Celtics T tonight is it going to be uh Brown again Jason Tatum Jason Tatum is due to have a big game he’s shooting 26% on threes in the playoffs he’s had a lot of clean looks haven’t gone down I think he’s going to have a huge game I think Bost is going to win I’m going with Jason Tatum too I’m going with the star and so are you saying that the Celtics are going to go up 3 0 yes yes is it going to be a game cuz I feel like this atmosphere could could help the Pacers at least make it competitive or do you feel like I think the Pacers will hang in there because of the crowd and because they play really fast they’re going to still score I just think boss is going to wear them down as the game goes along a lot like game two that game as it went along boss had established itself in control I think three will be a lot like that I think Indiana is going to be in this game especially early in this game and then I think when it comes down to the end it’s going to come down to shot making and who has the best shot making Bost yeah and like Ric car said pregame you know Tyrese halberton desperately wanted to play this game but it was out of his hands they will re-evaluate him and see if he can play game four I’m sure he’s going to be itching on the bench to try to give his team some sort of vocal spark but because he is the vocal leader of this team we’ll see how it all plays out game three coming your way at 8:30 Eastern on ABC we’ll be back here on Monday for game four thank you so much for watching hoop streams presented by door dash for counting us down to zero Dash your door to0 delivery freeze on door Dash thanks so much guys enjoy the game [Music] [Music] [Music]

  1. Please remove Steven A from NBA coverage. His east coast bias Knicks homer attitude is getting really old. Many better NBA analysts out there.

  2. On the Pacers team McDonnell get's more points then Nesmith this Nesmith doesn't get the ball much what a stupid team they can't pass the rock around
