  1. Heck, a lot out of own “fans” didn’t even want him when the trade first went down…which is crazy!!

  2. Putrid_Ad_2256

If Scottie Pippen had this kind of headache, the Chicago Bulls would’ve won it all in 1990.

  3. Any-Trouble9231

Idk I think it aged well, I have a headache watching kyrie put people in a blender.

  4. AtreusIsBack

That’s a very tabloid looking cover. Daily News is like that I guess.

  5. whitefang0824

I’d be lying to myself if I say that I am not worried that time we made a trade for him. Good thing it really works out.

  6. EvanEschmeyer

They really thought Spencer Dinwiddie was gonna upgrade them 😂

  7. MilkmanResidue

Kyrie has been such a great addition. I never thought I would be saying his wisdom has helped guide our team.

A few weeks ago I referenced how everyone was uncertain when he came to town and was shouted down as a casual ignorant fan. The talk was real back when he joined the team. But it sure as hell ain’t real now! I hope Kyrie calls us his home to retire with.

Daily News is a trash rag!! And Nets are poverty now, but I’m a little mad I didn’t take the chance to see him hoop at Barclays. I’m a Wolves fan 💔but I *really* want kai to get his revenge against celtics too

Yeah it’ll be such a headache trying to hang that banner in the rafters

So far this has been the best headache of my life. lol how can I ensure I keep this headache.

On a serious note, I hope lively is okay and hopefully just a neck stinger??? But that looked brutal

  11. The balls Nico had to make this trade. It’s frustrating to see the national media act like it was a no brainer. No the fuck it wasn’t. We gambled and won

I’m not going to pretend I was thrilled when they made the trade — at that point, Kyrie was seen as a ticking time bomb. It had been a given that he would eventually become a problem for whatever team he was on.

Even as 2022-23 came to a close, I think most fans remained skeptical it would work.

Fortunately, it has come to fruition now. He seems to genuinely enjoy being a Mav, and you can’t ask for better chemistry between him and Luka.

Great leader on this team, and playing at an incredible level in the postseason.

**IF** we win the championship (and that’s a big IF, I’m not counting my chickens yet), then Kyrie gets the full retired jersey treatment and legend status, right?

He still could (even without a title with the Mavs) if he continues to extend and plays excellent ball for a few more seasons. But IMHO with a title it’s automatic.

  14. ZoinksMcJinkies

They don’t pay him to know whether the Earth was round or not. They pay him to put a ball in a hoop…you can be crazy and still score 25 pts and get 5 assists…do you realized how dumb some of the NBA champions have been? If he can get his millions while still saying whatever he thinks then more power to him. That means he’s living his life better than 99.999 percent of us out here. I can’t hate on him for that, and he’s about to be in the finals…that dude already has one ring…so whatever people think of him he already won his games, got his money, and he can do what he wants..gotta applaud that.

  15. juscallmechris

The Kyle Kuzma comment is aging quite well also.

  16. HoMiiiCiiiDe

FUCK Joe Tsai. and fuck the Nets fans who agreed with him. have fun watching us in the finals losers

  17. mamba-pear

Everybody that watches Kyrie knows he plays his best basketball behind a legit #1.

Irving is one of the best #2 player of the modern generation.

His problems were rarely on court.

  18. Paaynnne

Joe Tsai manage athletes with the bitch ass entitled Eastern owner “you will obey me because I pay your salary” mentality.

I’m Taiwanese like him, trust me, they’re all like that. Owners like Mark or Steve Ballmer is completely insane to us Asians generally speaking.

  19. I mean honestly in another world he could’ve continued causing PR faux pas after coming here, but thankfully he didn’t. Combine that with a much more supportive locker room and community, and he’s seems to be in a much better place mentally. He’s avoided being mixed up in the kind of situations that got him frustrated in Brooklyn and messed with his performance.

  20. I mean, Kyrie was a massive pain in the ass while he was there. I think between his time in Boston and NY/NJ, he realized it’s better to just keep your head down and ball. We Mavs fans have been the lucky recipients of that epiphany 😌

  21. ForgetableNPC

The media hated him because he refused the vax. Everything else including the flat earth comments were a non issue. He went against what the government and big business wanted so they tried to destroy him.
