injury update uh to open up every one of his podcasts new episode dropped and uh yeah Lonzo went to explain the fact that he had a miniscus replacement on top of the Cartage he got a lot of dead people in his knee lot of dead people in his knee apparently this person was alive I thought I thought that’s what he was saying in the Pod like I was like you got this from a live knee like who’s the Bulls fan that was like that donated their minus salono no I think it’s still a kav I think it’s still a kav um but then on top of that kadav cartilage also in his knee um so yeah when they say I see dead people they’re just talking about lonzo’s knee apparently shot theend um but he said that on top of talking about his surgery he says that he um is g to be ready to play day one how do you feel about that Pat um I’ll believe it when I see it and play in what capacity that’s that’s the biggest question right like don’t take this as will he be in a jersey they asked him okay will you be in a jersey for the Bulls we be suited up in the jersey for the Bulls by the first game of the regular season yes I’ll be suited up in the jersey for the Bulls by the first game of the regular season okay technically he was in the Bulls jersey before the first game of the regular season because he showed up to Media Day last year when nobody knew he was coming well I mean here’s my thing what is the capacity that he’s going to play in what what is the ability that he’s going to have has right like is this a is this a we’re going to see this in preseason and then going through the season we’ll know what’s happening or is he just showing up first day is it going to be a training camp the expectation last time I heard was that he’s not going through training camp so we’re not just throwing you out there on the floor to figure it out the the start of the season so I just think that temper all expectations around Lonzo ball it’s somebody we haven’t seen in two in 14 months yeah in 14 months we have not seen Lonzo ball and so for me I’m just than I’m not I’m not uh well no when when he went out with the well the second injury has been 14 months I think the the first injury was yeah yeah well it’s been a lot longer there it’s been two years since since been over 24 month it’ll be 30 months since the since the time Lonzo got on the court if he is even there uh day one here’s the thing that I’m going to say Lonzo ball at this point is like the dude who lied about getting girls in high school and did actually lose his virginity until his early 20s I believe it when I see it my boy like it’s just at this point stop lying why St lying on your knees bro stop lying on your knees stop lying on your knees man BR it’s it’s it’s so it’s so weird to me because it’s like I don’t know if he here’s the thing I don’t know if he’s lying I just don’t know if it’s if it’s an omission of truth right where yeah I’ll be back yes I’ll be able to play but but in what capacity are you playing what skill are you what skill level beying truth yeah I mean like he said he’s cleared he’s not cleared well he’s not cleared yet that’s a lie yeah yeah I don’t know you trying to find the silver line in somewhere pass sometimes you just got to call people out just say the man’s lying bro it’s okay he’s not gonna find what are he gonna do kick you well I’m not even trying to find a silver line in here to be honest with you it’s just I’m sick of talking about it because it’s like the the what’s the expectation of Lonzo there’s no silver lining in this to me my expectation is that he’s not going to be able to play basketball at a high level my expectation is that his days of being a a elite Defender and and a really good three-point shooter over my expectation is that when he gets back on the basketball court we’re g to go that’s all right like I I it sometimes it’s just time to move on and the fact that we’re we continue to talk about Lonzo ball because Lonzo ball and I know it’s because it’s the off season there’s not a ton for us to do we we can sit here break down draft picks until we’re blew in the face maybe it’s time to break down Kao again so that we can get called all kind of monkeys and all that I mean well he’s not eligible for drafts anymore so we don’t have to worry about him we’ll just talk about him as a free agent option and then laugh at the fact that it’s not true um but no I I just I to me like the the Lonzo ball ship is sailed just like many of the pieces on this team has are there pieces that could still be on this team next season that uh that we believe could be gone for sure but let’s be 100% clear this team as it is currently constructed is done no matter if they bring it back or not it is not going to be a successful team we’ve seen three seasons of it it’s okay to move on it depends on how you view success because if the success is keeping your your lottery pick maybe they will be success in that since next year and keep if you’re if you’re sitting there trying to tank and all of that yeah that’s a whole different conversation no you don’t even have to try to tank like this team you’re talking about three three three less wins and this team is a top 10 draft pick this year yeah so so it’s not like we we’re that far off I wish we could say that we were further off from a top 10 draft pick but we’re not so um listen the thing is I hope and I said this over on Central when I talked about it I hope that zo comes back and Wows and everybody and every but at some point like I I I love and hate at the same time that they’re going to talk about this every week on their podcast it’s going to be something that keeps giving Bulls fans hope and we already know that we’re a fan base that our ownership is already trying to sld us on hope we don’t need you to try to do it as well so just shut up and prove it that’s the thing that zo like I get it I know that he wants to talk about it I get it that if Zo did have a podcast that released an episode every week and he didn’t say nothing about the injury it’ll lead to more speculation that he’s not ready I understand all of it but I really wish Lonzo would just shut the hell up and just let let get on the like I would love for training camp to open up and they say hey zo’s out here practicing that’s it I just yeah and it’s that what does it change that’s my thing what does it change what does it what does it do for the team even in the short run what does it do for the team next season what is adding one-legged Lonzo ball back to the team do exactly exactly what like like what are we hoping what is this magic for some reason I’m talking about and I love big homie so this isn’t nothing against ant but aunt said I seen uh KD come back from injury that murdered Dominique wilkin’s career I may be full but here’s the difference though in this and 30 years that yeah there’s a large the difference is that zo is the Dominique Wilkins in this situation because there’s this has never been done before so in your comparison zo is on the wrong end of that yeah I just like I don’t know what this this I get it sometimes hope is all we have to hold on to but at a some point at some point you like if you’re still expecting the first 35 games to come back because Lonzo ball walks back on the basketball court wrap it up like I I don’t know what to tell you like get get off the streets shouldn’t be driving you you shouldn’t be that drunk and still living and this is again wrong no this is not the surgery that Brandon Roy had at all Brendan Roy had a micr fracture surgery which is not the same and he never came back either right this is not the same Lonzo ball is the first professional athlete to have this type of surgery that would be trying well in come to try to come back so no there is no comparison there’s no preced for this there’s no Dominique had it Greg Odin had they had microact surgery you know what the difference is in that that was them trying the micr fracture surgery was they used to literally go in and stab into the into the bone and hope that that was going to stimulate growth to Shinken the cartilage this is taking a whole another person’s healthy cartilage and sticking it in an unhealthy knee and wishing and hoping something was going to happen I this might be a wild question to ask but how you never mind too I say who’s checking the cartilage of dead guys like who’s like we got a good cartilage here we can we can utilize this later whose job is that bro healthier than lonzo’s cartilage like it doesn’t even matter bro like I’m just saying like where did we get this cartilage from was this at least from like a a athlete or something or was this from like a grandfather you know what I mean like who’s whose knee is this well I hope they don’t like come that’s crazy bro like like like like we said before hopefully it’s African knes that’s all you can hope for um yeah next Jamaican the Jamaican KN bro most cap space in the league mainly because they have like four players on their roster heading into next year everybody else is a free agent and while while reportedly they do have Paul George amongst others high on the draft board it came out via Yahoo sports yesterday that Klay Thompson and Zack LaVine are both also targets uh by the Philadelphia 76ers Klay Thompson who’s an outright free agent Zack LaVine uh who would have to be traded for the thing in this report that worried me is that they said that the Philadelphia 76ers are interested in Zack LaVine if the Bulls would include draft Capital no no no I’m I’m here for it I’m here for it I’ll tell you why who’s the last person we heard this with who’s the last person Philly wanted to trade for that we heard this one remember it started off that Brooklyn was sending all this draft capital for them James Harden off his hands yeah how’d that trade end up going yeah that’s that’s Philly traded half the team had like six pcks get James Harden it was like how do we get here no I’m all in on this darl Mo do it yes go after the pick because we need draft Capital back so I know that you’ll somehow just argue with yourself in your own mirror and be I will send you a first round pick thank you no um as far as this as far as Zack LaVine ended up on Philly I mean who are the free agents that they’re going to resign to put out there that you want be honest with you like there’s not a lot in Philly that I’m looking for now if it’s just to get out of Z LaVine contract that’s fine I’ve said this many times I think that you may have to take an L on trying to move Zack LaVine out of Chicago but you would need a a plethora of uh of one-year deals uh that you’re signing guys to for this to work and I just don’t think that that’s going to be a likely scenario which means you’re probably gonna sign Tobias Harris to some stupid contract to try and match money and I don’t want him either well I don’t think Tobias Harris necessarily has anything to do with it um but the thing with the 76 it depends on how desperate they get because I can see the the 76 is getting extremely desperate where at some point if they strike out on all their top five targets I can completely see them be like all right hey hey Bulls okay what if what what if it’s like a top 29 protected first round pick and they say no you send me pick and then they just go ahead and do it that voice I don’t know what was that that’s how AK sounds in my head send me the pick Ian Drago in your mind is that is that what AK is he’s just yeah yeah I just I I think here’s here’s my big thing with all of this right if you’re if you’re sitting there looking to bring in the guy who’s dealt with some injury I guess if you want somebody younger maybe go with a guy like Zack LaVine but I keep looking at this from the aspect of what are you sending back what are you trying to get back in the deal the Bulls aren’t sending him a pick I would hurt I would hope not you know what I mean it would sound sensible to not do that right I I would hope that they’re not sending them a pick but it like I I just when you look at a Philadelphia team like are you sending me back what Batum and like you don’t have have contract they’re not under contract no that’s what I’m saying so like you you what are you trading like the guys that are under contract they’re not sending you I mean they could trade their their their picks this season I mean they do have three uh picks in this draft coming up that they own so they could it could be built around that uh they could attach Paul Reed maybe as well as kind of filler I suppose so I don’t know what the value of each of those picks is right now but I I I feel like so they have a pick uh number 16th overall pick then they have two second round picks at 41 and 48 yeah I I I guess so you know what I mean I I guess that that could be something that I could see the the the bull doing it if if they’d be willing to make that deal um but again I do think it comes with a a desperation um like you said I I think that that is the the Bulls being a uh or or Philadelphia saying we don’t want to bring back any of what we had and we need to add something and we got none of the players that we were looking for it’ be interesting to see bro like the last call on the list like like guarantee that the Bulls are the last call on the list for a lot of people I can’t wait to see how and outside of whatever happens with LaVine this is even if it has nothing to do with LaVine I just I just can’t wait to see darl Mory desperate we see that all the time no no no no no we see him in desperation but I’m talking about truly desperate in the sense where he’s just like somebody send me something like what are we doing please because keep mind even even with Harden I think that if if they if if Harden would have woke up one day and like you know what I realized it I didn’t really have my snack I took his Snickers I wanted to stay in Philly daram Mo would been like bet thank God this is like they have to do something Tobias Harris don’t want to come back so even if they do strike out on everybody else Tobias Harris ain’t coming back for that team I don’t see like all right well let’s say you can bring back Kyle Mari and Nicholas Batum all right what what what are you doing other than that uh not nothing exactly yeah I mean like and and that’s that’s really my point with all of it right there has to be a desperation around around this Philadelphia 76ers team for them to even to me look to have this conversation you I mean like the I I don’t think they’re calling the Bulls I think there’s so many teams that they’re on the phone with before they get to the Bulls so many teams yeah and and that’s that’s the biggest problem with all be because of the Zack LaVine injury history because of now I will say this they have no problem paying big money contracts like that so they could be in on it for that for that uh that reasoning there but I think that especially if you’re building this around draft Capital you’re gonna have to give up quite a few picks uh just to give it up around just to uh uh build this around draft capital I like you said maybe some some small money players in there but I don’t know they can’t trade they can’t trade another pick until 2031 so there not a whole bunch of draft Capital to giving up either bro like they need to I’m not gonna lie to you interest means that you looked at a Chicago Bulls game you like Zack LaVine would be nice here because I don’t see a way you get this deal done I mean they have the space so they it’s not a problem with them getting MoneyWise they can pay him yeah but he here’s what we got to understand we have a owner who operates with a 1980s mentality we have a GM who’s not going to pull the trigger on any deal that basically doesn’t get him back a player um yeah I mean like there’s not a lot of there’s not a lot of confidence in me that you’re just gonna move on from this guy in Zack LaVine and just say yeah I’mma do it for draft picks and and Paul Reit um have you uh hello Patrick uh the designer um our front office is uh ran by arturis carova and um Mark eversley yeah so I I everything that you said is very sensible but do you realize but but but but that’s that’s my point though they’re not a front office that’s just going to give up Zack LaVine we seen that already I I think that at this point with how close they are to the luxury tax I think they may have pivoted on that to be honest with you well we’ll see I would I would love for it to be right at this point because again like I said there to me there’s no success with this team um that you have to start to find the Next Generation you have to find the new you have to find what’s going to be the future of this Bulls team but I listen I believe in when I see it when AK said we want to change the core of this up to to me that meant you know we’re we’re getting rid of maybe one piece and I don’t know if it’s going to be Zack LaVine because I think he’s going to be the toughest of the three to move we’ll see man I guess we’ll see because I don’t think he’s going to play that much so you think that well but you think him staying healthy is more like yeah okay I think I don’t think he’s going to I mean I think Lonzo ball is going to be on the court at most like seven minutes SE seven minutes for the season seven minutes wow Pat seven minutes again what does that extrapolate out to that’s uh 640 minutes something like that that might be bad math but you did it so I can’t trust it without verifying 574 minutes oh hell yeah I I was close yeah you know close enough you can count when you want to close um before we get out of here Pat Uh so Mark everle who was a finalist for the uh president of basketball operations role with the Detroit Pistons uh misses out on that role this is the I think now third time he’s been interviewed for a uh president role he doesn’t end up getting it so he more than likely will be here next season unless something crazy happens to and I don’t say that to say like they’re they’re not going to fire him but you just never know what else is going to happen this offseason so unless something crazy happens Mark everley will be here again um but how do you feel do you think it’s only a
