Fascinating map. You can see a clear demarcation of the three-point line. But also Mellow took more shots favoring the right (facing the basket) side of the court and mid-range.

I’m a Magic fan, yet Nuggets Melo is a top-5 favorite player of mine, growing up watching him was a special time in hoops. Few if any players were as fun to watch taking and making impossible shots as Melo, truly as unguardable as any player before or since, even Draymond calls him the toughest matchup. Too strong, too quick, footwork too fundamentally sound, quick-trigger slight fade jumper too clean, Melo can beat any defender from anywhere on the floor, especially at his most explosive. I wanted to celebrate his unguardable matchup-proof scoring showing the versatility of his shots here in this data viz

Melo was awesome. wish he came in a different era and not with LeBron. felt like his career was overshadowed.
