all right if you’re new here welcome in if you know me welcome back I’m not really going to edit this video that much because it’s like an emergency video uh I just found out that rgm Troy Weaver has decided to part ways or traan langon has decided to part ways with Troy Weaver and I cannot be any more excited I did not think that this day would come this off season honestly the Pistons have been stuck in such a rut for the last four seasons under the Weaver era and Beyond the weav era but Troy Weaver last season after last season the season before this one after the season before this one wrote a letter to the fans being like we will be better and then we got worse we got we got Cade back and then won like 14 games I think it’s been so long it’s been a month so I forgot what the actual number is but it’s low it’s really low and I just was so concerned that the Pistons were going to be stuck with the complacency of being off awful and seeing traan langon get in here and be like no this is such a positive now this is the lowest bar to clear like we knew that president of basketball operations you know he wants his own guys if he wasn’t going to bring in his own guys of some kind what was the point of even hiring this I’m just really excited because we had to watch we had to watch so much wrong happened and it wasn’t all just Troy Weaver I think that there’s too many cooks in the kitchen for Detroit right we we’ve watched so many wrong things happen right with uh of course the loow hanging fruit is Killian Hayes of course but trading for James wisman right trading for James wisman when you already have Marvin Bagley giving up two picks to trade for Marvin Bagley and then trading two picks to give Marvin Bagley away for two players that you bought out in Mike muscala and Danilo galinari among other decisions oh also by the way last year’s big free agents spashes were Joe Harris and Monty Morris who barely played for this team like there were so many there were so many things about this Troy Weaver era that just was so sad and I think the saddest thing was if here’s the thing I believe if we didn’t have the streak and if we weren’t like a national news story um I don’t think he would have gotten fired there’s a part that beli that if the Pistons kept losing but wasn’t it wasn’t a public spectacle this wouldn’t have happened that’s something that I really believe and I’m so glad that we lost 28 games because if this is a result this is a win this is a win I mean we we didn’t have that many this year but this is definitely a win now again job’s not finished I still want Monty Williams gone but if it’s just Troy and you give Monty a little bit more leeway I can handle that but only like the shortest of leashes right man I’m just so excited I’m just so excited man cuz it feels like something got done with this front office doesn’t feel like stuff gets done that often right and even though like we have Jaylen Duran that’s a great draft um that’s I think that’s Trey Weaver’s best move is being able to finagle and get Jaylen Duran that might be his the best thing that he did yeah like it’s so wild even though the deck was stacked against Troy right you still fumbled the deck you still fumbled the cards right oh my God I am so I’m just so excited here I’m just so excited all right so here’s the athletic article saying that Pistons part W with Troy Weaver and are in talks with Pelicans executive Michael Blackstone I if tra and Langdon brings all of his people from the Pelicans I’m like okay you bring in who you know I guess I don’t know better than Weaver that’s fine the decision to let Weaver go comes a week after the Pistons hire Langan to be their new president of basketball operations giving him free reign to make big changes yes gors T that money is No Object okay the thing about Tom Gores is like say what you want but that man will spend money will he spend in the right places debatable but he will spend money I feel like if there was no salary cap in the NBA we would be one of the best teams easily CU Tom gor would just shell out money while in Detroit Weaver’s draft evaluations were hit or missed the franchise was fortunate to land okay yeah number one pick but that’s the number one pick yeah the work is done after number one pick right Isaiah Stewart fine I get it assar Jaden Duren not these are all good like draft picks and but like at the same time the misses the miss the killing Hayes Miss is really painful I it just it just it at the time in hindsight in hindsight it looks bad because of halberton and Maxi and all of that it looks bad Sadi Bay too looks bad now and then trading him for James wisman awful move unfortunately Weaver’s downfall in Detroit was due to lack of asset management and team building yes yes man yeah man the Piston did not take on bad contracts to get first round picks Jeremy Grant B Don like I don’t hate the bogdanovich thing I don’t hate that the Jeremy Grant thing I was like oh man we’re just going to be mid forever yeah you held on to all these players too long yes there was rumors that bogdanovich was going to get traded for a first round pick the season before but we held on to him and then Packers him with Burks for like H the roster balance was not ideal no it was not it was awful roster balance man terrible just terrible and last but not least we’re going to look at every move that Troy Weaver has made and we acquired him in June 2020 so his first was Justin Patton and then drafting kilan Haye that was November 2020 all right all right now November traded cash the Utah Jazz for Tony Bradley and Sabin Ley and then signed save and lead to a two-way contract and then here’s a three team trade the Detroit Pistons traded Luke Canard Justin padon as 2023 second round pick a 2024 second round pick a 2025 second round draft pick and a 2026 second round pick to the Clippers and the Detroit Pistons traded Bruce Brown to the Brooklyn Nets painful the Brooklyn Nets traded sadique Bay jayen H I can say that name zenan Musa and a 2021 second round draft pick to the Pistons none of those were useful yeah trading Bruce Brown away for basically nothing kind of sucks and Luke Canard as well annoying okay traded cash to the Denver Nuggets for Jeremy Grant and uh okay yeah I remember cash just cash for Jeremy Grant signed Christian Wood to a multi-year contract not the not the worst move I like Christian Wood and then traded him for Isaiah Stewart yeah okay got it and then the Pistons traded Trevor Reza cuz Trevor Reza never played for us so I was like yeah the Pistons traded Trevor Reza the Thunder and Delon wri to the Pistons what happened to Delon Wright what happened to Delon Wright we will find out maybe killing hay sadique Bay Isaiah Stewart wave zier Smith Wayne Ellington Josh Jackson Jalil okaf for Mason plumbley we signed liangelo ball to it oh my God and then waved him at like yeah come on now what all right let’s see here signed Frank Jackson traded Derrick Rose for Dennis Smith this is just a lot of and then for a pick that involved Isaiah livers eventually just a lot of just nothing no big swings ever man I know he didn’t have oh waved Blake Griffin oh oh man okay I think us not being able to get anything for Blake Griffin is the real sad thing here not being able to get anything of value for Blake Griffin in March oh my God I feel like that’s a misplay I’m not a front office dude but I feel like that’s a misplay there okay then drafted K Cunningham JT Thor Isaiah livers Luca gar course Kade Cunningham is the that’s a easy pick and then you have second round picks uh I don’t think any of these people are in the league right now I think Garza on the Timberwolves maybe but yeah all right 2021 signed Kelly oen signed Trey ly Sabin Lee traded Mason plumbley and JT Thor to the Hornets this guy that’s never like played for us waved Rodney McGruder two days later signs Rodney McGruder uh signed Frank Jackson and Cory Joseph so a a cool thing that a cool Trend that we notice is that the Detroit Pistons will wave a person and then bring them back so Corey Joseph was waved and then brought back right then we traded seku we I believed I I believed I wanted to believe in seku okay seku and Jalil Oka for for DeAndre Jordan yeah we he never played bought him bought him out so Detroit just served as like a middleman for better NBA teams for a little bit as well oh my God what an uneventful two what an uneventful 2021 man what an uneventful then nothing nothing nothing here nothing here just some just some g-league stuff and then just oh oh we have a four team trade Josh Jackson and Trey L say Sacramento Kings I okay Trey LS is fine and Josh Jackson the T that tenure was rough okay the Pistons traded a 2023 second round draft pick I don’t and a 2024 second round draft pick what what is with us giving away all these second round draft picks all right the Clippers traded a baka in cash for the bucks the Clippers traded okay go BL blah oh this is the Marvin baggley trade the four team trade okay so he gave up this is the two picks to get Marvin baggley then we draft Jaden Ivy 2022 2023 sign Jaden Ivy signed Marvin baggley traded Jeremy Grant to the Portland Trailblazers for player that didn’t play 2025 first 2025 second 2026 second and trade exception conditional it’s not that’s not the worst haul but I feel like I feel like Detroit always under sells these things cre a 2025 firstr draft pick to the Knicks for Jaylen durran great I think that’s a great move and then kembo Walker fine but I don’t think kembo Walker was around for that long this guy didn’t play second round draft pick for out Burks noan nerland snowell cash a 2023 second round pick I yeah fine all right we signed Kevin Knox to a multi-year contract and Rodney McGruder again traded Saban Le and Kelly Ock for Boon bogdanovich uh uh not fine sign Stanley moody this is my favorite move I like Stanley Moody a lot I I like Stanley Moody a lot then he waved kemell Walker all right as kemell Walker at that time was just it was just it was just over now the Detroit Pistons traded Kevin Knox the Trailblazers the and sadik B to the Hawks and the Hawks traded a 2026 second round pick 2028 second round pick to the Warriors the Hawks trade a 2023 second round draft pick and then the Golden State Warriors trade James wisman to the Detroit Piston like the Golden State Warriors were able to dump off James wisman to us and we we did nothing with that I don’t even think he’s coming back this year Dwayne Casey resigns Dwayne Casey’s like no this is this is cooked and then assar Thompson first round fine and then we flip Nai for Sasser nah I don’t hate it but oh man and then the off season you know Troy weer wrote a letter we run 14 games where our big our big moves are we we uh get Joe Harris and then we get Monty Morris those were our big free agent moves this year after writing a letter apologizing to the Detroit Pistons fan base and then you sign Kevin Knox again after trading him away recently uh then you trade baggley and see there’s no there were not really many moves for the during the whole trade deadline we were like you have to make some kind of move you have to make some kind of move and then they made a move a month too late in my opinion like baggley baggley and livers fine cuzz livers was like one of the worst players ever seen on in a Pistons jersey and then you but you got also gave them two second round picks for players that you just bought out you’re burning picks man what are we doing and then trading bonovich and Burks the Knicks for all of these play like three of these players are not going to be on the team next year and then you get Quenton Grimes and cash which is Quenton Grimes I I I want to believe in Quenton Grimes fono might be his best trade fono might be his best move also waved killy hay wave Joe Harris like it yeah getting fono might have been Troy Weaver’s best move I think that that’s it look man 4 Years bro a whole presidential term of just basically nothing super spectacular and yeah
