parted ways with Troy Weaver Deuce what’s going on I mean it’s been a crazy 24 hours bro or 48 Hours actually since we first got the news um leading up until now we didn’t expect it to happen this quickly from the time that we reported it yesterday um but it kind of just work thought that way I expected it to be a couple days actually um from yesterday to where it became a national uh conversation but here we are it actually worked out better this way um because now everybody can see that we weren’t capping with our sources um we come correct with everything that we say we not going to say anything unless we know excuse me know for sure that it’s pretty much 100 100% fact so um yeah yeah it’s been a crazy crazy 48 hours bro so now as we have the news officially that you know know Troy has moved on and we moved on from him now it’s a matter of what’s the next step for our pistons and there’s a lot of different um ideas things that we’re hearing we’re talking about um potential GM candidates that we’re looking at I personally don’t have too many that I’ve been looking at personally there’s been a couple that have been thrown out there um I’ve heard people say Obviously taan Prince um we’ve heard Shane Bader we’ve heard Blackstone I personally um have a few guys who I like but I also have a couple guys that I think they may go with ar in tell may go with as well so K give me your thoughts bro anybody stick out to you as far as who you think may be fing that position or anybody who you would like to see in that position now that the news that we talked about yesterday is finally gone public yeah um obviously gonna stick stick with what I’ve been hearing right you know uh obviously Eric tellum Blackstone uh some things you hear out there who I would love to see I would love to see taan get an opportunity because taan has always been a very smart and cerebral guy yeah uh so to bring him in here obviously like I said I I want Pistons blood back in the building you know to bring the Pistons flavor back to Detroit you need to get some Pistons here yeah and we have too many great players we have too many great teams that we’ve had uh championship teams right that bring that type of you know experience and put a real stamp on this team so it’s going to be interesting to see what the Detroit Pistons decid to do in this situation but um yeah whoever they go with obviously you know we’ll we’ll do our just do and uh and get the background and everything else but if it’s someone I had a choice to pick it’ probably be taan I’m not mad of taan um for obvious reasons there’s one guy who I want and we’ve talked about him before um Tim Conley right Tim Conley the current GM president now he GM president one of the two he’s making the decisions over there um for Minnesota and he’s the same guy who made a lot of the decisions for the Denver Nuggets before they won their Championship he helped build that team from the ground up um before even jic was even there so he’s responsible for a lot of the construction of that team and he was there is no concrete reason as to why he departed from Denver before they won the championship we just know that they parted ways um so it seemed as if after that though he had kind of a chip on his shoulder because he went and built the Kryptonite Denver’s Kryptonite he built the team to beat them um in that team which we saw play last night for the final time unfortunately for them last night Minnesota they they play a lot like the Detroit teams that we grew up watching and that is why I am very interested in Tim Conley will he Le I don’t know who knows that’s just a pipe dream idea for who I want because he embodies what we are as a Detroit franchise he he embodies what we were when we were successful right and so now you mentioned it before I think you mentioned in your previous video that defense is coming back we saw in the Western Conference Finals two defensive juggernauts the two top defensive teams in the league in the Western Conference finals and that’s why you and I both say whoever wins that series is going to win a championship so we need that type of energy we like that’s what we need we need that type of blood we need that type of mindset that type of mentality to bring back and restore what it was what once was when we had success here as fans of the successful Detroit franchise so that’s what I’m looking at Tim connley more than anybody yeah I I you know like I said if you look at the situation right um don’t we get a g what’s the next step is to draft right you got big coming right in the door whether we go and get someone who’s inexperienced or someone who’s ex experience um we got to make the Right Moves man yep we gotta make the Right Moves whoever comes in here at GM listen we have some assets you got to make the Right Moves move this franchise forward now bringing in somebody like I said if you bring in someone with pistons blood obviously that may Garner other Pistons you know to come and and be in this organization which I would love man um but yeah you coming right into power just like langon obviously you walking into power in a in a a pretty decent situation you don’t have to do any restoring so um it’s just moving forward it’s moving forward listen I want to say one thing though uh talk about it I don’t want to give I don’t want to give Langan credit for making this move I want to say it was a mutual respect and they both parted ways that’s why the you know the title says parted part ways um this is not them firing tro Weaver they offered him to stay this is a mutual thing for them to part ways so if you had any question and you know any question still there about if Troy Weaver had you know soul and true power to do his job the answer is just flat out no since is done we can just say that it’s flat out no yep so um and that’s probably why you see Troy Weaver say no I’m not taking anything lesser let’s just let’s just part ways yeah and that’s I gotta respect that I gotta respect that yeah yeah I mean you know it sounds like they at least on his way out tried to handle it as professional as possible even though they you know weren couldn’t come to an agreement it’s good to hear cuz a lot of times you hear these things end badly and there’s a lot of bad blood when there’s dismissal or whatever you want to call it whenever they part ways like this so at least for everybody’s sake you know this shows that they at least tried to handle it you know in a in a way that was forthcoming honest you know and upfront so I do think that’s a good start you know we don’t have much to go off of as far as this new regime but I think that’s a good first step as far as hearing that it was at least Mutual decision they both came to yeah yeah um man you know this this is this is going to be interesting summer it’s so much to do it’s so much to get done um but I want to say something this is the first year when you look at this draft situation right we’ve already said on our channel uh you know you’ll be almost a fool to keep that fifth pick as the Pistons yeah you almost because like I said what is really are you what is a a player at five GNA do for this team right now right right um when you look at the the way the roster is built currently you look at what we need to add to this roster I just haven’t had a player I can put my finger on in this draft and say if we just for some reason kept this p i want you know this is just not the draft it’s just not it’s it’s a we draft it’s a we draft um like we mentioned before we we still have guys on this roster um young guys from the past two previous years who we got with the number five pick and they’re still finding their way and those were deeper drafts so it doesn’t make much sense to me with this draft they’re there isn’t a consensus board there isn’t a consensus board and that you know a lot of times either means there’s a ton of talent at the top or there’s a a lack of talent at the top and from what we’ve seen all indications point to it being more so a lack of talent relatively to previous years so if we if we had you obviously you can’t you know it’s not cookie cutter every single year but based off of the data and based off of the guys we’ve drafted with the same exact pick two years prior in deeper drafts it doesn’t make sense to me with where we are and where we’re trying to go as far as being able to move forward with the youth move Movement we already have and start bringing in veterans it just doesn’t fit and match to me so I think that pick is better spit um packaging it with something else or someone else assetwise to be able to go get a veteran yeah and said you know I see some of the names in the comments man one of them is clinging I have been watching some clinging footage you know of course we got Duren already but like I’m saying we got the fifth pick you know and I I just don’t see us keeping that pick and you know you you got the assets use them for for you know the best situation possible that’s all I’m asking so it’s gonna be interesting to see that and um I just I just don’t want to mess this up I don’t want to go back into the darkness for you yeah very very important time yeah it’s very important bro um yeah I will say this I am relieved because couple weeks ago we talked about how we were really behind the aball from a Time standpoint because we had the we had just had the lottery we didn’t have a president um we didn’t know what the direction of the team was we didn’t know who we even might be looking at drafting and doing with that P because we didn’t know what the president wanted to do we it was so many questions and we had a limited amount of time to make a very very important decision for this team years and years down line that being the president who’s going to write this ship right so that was what had me nervous is that who okay we got to make this decision and we got to do it quick that’s not a good combination so the fact that we now have somebody that you know seems to have a level of respect around the league even though he’s young and in experienced to to a point um just on his face I’m happy that that step is now checked off that box is now checked off because now we don’t have to worry about things as far as we’re behind the aball the time crme and things like that we can just move forward now with this front office when he has a GM when every fighting a GM and then we’ll know more about what we’re doing as far as going forward because it doesn’t feel good from a stand a fan standpoint even though we you know we kind of somewhat plugged in it still doesn’t feel good in the dark as much as we are as a fan base you know when things are kind of going right and there’s no there’s no an for anything so this is kind of good to see that we’re kind of getting some movement the balls rolling yeah and you know like man listen you know I I see a couple of comments also about trading back and everything else listen who wants to trade up in this draft honestly you know who are you trading up to get in this draft right that’s the question you know what I’m saying I don’t think it’s a sexy guy at five you’re trying to trade up to get um yeah I don’t yeah yeah yeah most of these guys that I see from a basketball standpoint are just guys that you would bring in that’s going to contribute to a team you know what I’m saying they’re not they’re not game Chang what these are you know what I’m saying so that’s gon that in itself right there to me is like who who’s gonna move up and take that fifth pick you know what I’m saying I think you package it and you go out and get somebody um who that may be I don’t know right right free agency is is not it’s not the year for free agency either so your best bet is to try to make a trade yeah yeah exactly exactly Elton this is interesting too yeah I was a little disappointed too um that it happened on a Friday without op pressor CU it it kind of just buys them more time while also giving us something you know this just gives them more time in the meantime and between time to kind of get their ducks in the room but that’s why I expect the press conference to come sometime next week yeah because they did it on a Friday when they have two you know two days in between to kind of get things together while also giving us a throwing us a bone letting us know something right um so next week I I expect to see oppressor and um that’s once again that’s that’s kind of what leads me to the next thing we were talking about um when is this press conference and I I’m I’m with y’all man I’m like what’s we talked about it the most important one of the most important things I want to see differently from this regime is more communication whoever was responsible for the lack of communication before I don’t care I just want to see more now I I want I want to I want them to be more engaged with the fan basee you know just so we at least have a reason to have confidence in what’s going on we have a reason to buy tickets we have a reason to want to come to the games because we at least understand what the team is trying to do right so that pressure is going to tell me a lot bro I mean the delay in the news you know apparently you know was there to make sure that tran gets up to speed right and so that’s why I’m looking for that announcement next week so we’ll see yeah we’ll definitely see man um so now the hair coaching situation okay is it looking like to you that Monte Williams is definitely St I won’t say definitely I definitely won’t say definitely um just just because I think I think he is safer now I think if anything he’s he has more time he may have bought himself more time maybe he didn’t buy himself more time but he may have been bought more time by the Troy firing and him not a being attached to that right I think that at least signifies that he’s here for now whether that means up until training camp whether that means until they get the new GM who may want a different coach whether that means Tom Gore is having a change of heart and not being willing to eat that 78 or 70 whatever 60 million left we don’t know right I do think that if I had to make a if I had to make a gut check this uh choice I would probably say he’s here come game one of the regular season yeah I feel like you know with a new GM coming in I don’t know if the first decision they will want to make obviously with you know letting Troy go will be to eat that contract when you haven’t spent any time with him yet right you know what I mean that’s that’s a lot of money to let go and I’m sure that’s conversations that tran is having with Tom gor you know are you okay with this how do you really feel about this this is a lot of money to just eat would you be okay if I were to make that decision if I’m confident he’s not the guy these are conversations that I’m sure are being had right now between Tran whoever his GM is going to be in Tom Gores right those things got to get hashed out but for now I would say if I had to make a decision I would probably say that Monte is here just because of how big that contract is and just because that was year one I think those are the two things that are really keeping him here it’s not like it’s two three years four years in he’s had time to build and you know culture he’s had time to get his guys in and we’re still not producing at all I think one season in $60 million those two things I think are why he may be able to stick around um maybe past at least to the end of the season yeah your thoughts I totally agree with that um you know and the way that I was looking at it earlier I I was thinking to myself we bring a GM in here what if that GM doesn’t want Monte Williams wants to come in here and bring his own coach you know what I’m saying a lot of good candidates out there for coaching that would be for this team what if they walk in the door and say hey man I don’t think I wanna you know move forward with uh Monty Williams that’s my question the FR say listen if you want this job you gotta take Monty Williams or right are they willing to say it’s only been one year but listen we trying to wipe this slate clean let’s move you know what I’m saying that’s what I’m waiting to see what the Pistons you know decide to do as far as the you know the front office um because some GMS they prefer what they prefer walking in the door so right it’s going to be something to watch um we you know we got to kind of mention last night you know last night man got eliminated in The Bears good Lord so does anybody remember what I said yesterday about one Derek Lively yeah I said yesterday if he plays they win if he doesn’t they you could see the offense return to rest you could you can see there was um order again in their offense it was it was restored to order it was it was fluid right they looked like everybody was in their roles ball was moving the ball was hopping you have player movement Luke was doing this thing in the pick and roll Kyrie was getting you know his opportunities it just looked it just looked fluid and like I said yesterday Dallas don’t want to play around with Minnesota Luca came into that game yesterday not playing around with Minnesota bro 20 points in the first quarter I knew the game was over at that point when he was coming down just pulling just pulling from the logo back to back to back walking away as the ball goes in not even reacting like like yeah he’s he they’re burying him tonight he’s not he’s not going to play around he’s not trying to go back home for game six he he’s that guy I think Luca when this when this when this playoff run is over I think he will be recognized as the best player in the world I think for a couple reasons I I didn’t know I know but I say that because first of all you got to finish the deal you understand that that’s why joic wasn’t declared the best player in the world until last year when he won right all those MVPs didn’t matter you gota you got to finish the deal and so I think this year even though Luka didn’t win the MVP I think people are seeing his his greatness in big moments this is the first time going to the finals and this is the first time with a real team to get there but the other thing aside from winning the chip is his defense and not I was telling you about this before this isn’t this the second half of the season has been a totally different team totally different Dallas Mavericks team PJ Washington D Jones bringing those guys in that Gafford that made the difference you got long wiry strong guys that’s perfect for Luca KN on both ends of the floor and now Luca is getting involved now you see him diving on the floor for lose balls you see him turning slow him all over you know what I mean like you you see the effort now he’s never going to be a a top-notch Defender but I think he can be that best and above average Defender because he he’s smart he’s smart you know same reason I think Kyrie can be a good Defender Kyrie isn’t the most athletic guy but he’s smart he’s a ball handler so he knows what ball handlers are trying to do with the ball you know what I mean he understands so that’s why I think when this is over Luca is gonna be recognized as the best player in the world you know and looking at a player like Kyrie I’m I’m pushing for Kyrie to win yeah Green you know LeBron because he’s always gonna have that stink on him between him and Luca is that big talent-wise talent wise but up here when I watched Jason Tatum against Golden State and I saw that Jaylen Brown was the best player in that series and I saw the series
