Is this worth it for the bucks to step down in the 2nd round?

So Gary Payton ll has not been healthy. So his trade value is low. The bucks would be taking a "Joe Ingles" like flyer on an older very good vet who's ability to stay on the floor is questionable, but if they can would be very very valuable. The warriors possibly can get someone good on a small contract in the second round

If what I’ve heard about GP3 is true then nah. I’m assuming we’ll bring back Pat bev next year I’d rather have a chance at late 1st talent in a draft that I think will have sleepers than a run down guy.

Bringing back (18 game Bucks legend) gp2 would be interesting. As the roster currently sits the Bucks best hope is that Doc just plays Andre Jackson Jr and he wins the minutes over Pat. I feel like if they trade for GPII, he and Andre would occupy about the same role. Andre hasn’t really established himself in the Bucks rotation yet. Will be interesting to see if he can carve out a rotation spot. That’d really help alleviate the Bucks problem as they age older.

Yes let’s trade Pat for a one dimensional player that can’t stay healthy and drop 20 spots in a weak draft at the same time. These mock trades gotta stop…

    No, I don’t think so.

It’s not a deep draft so dropping down that far just doesn’t seem worth it if you’re not actually cutting salary and getting under the 2nd apron.

That’s not a bad trade idea. Pretty realistic action. I think both sides could find value in it. That’s assuming GP2 is perfectly healthy. We get a perimeter defender and he would come off the books 1 year before Pat’s contract. The warriors get a role player vet and a good 2nd rounder.

I’d be fine with it personally if he’s healthy. I think a lot of people including myself are hoping for more Impactful flashy moves is all. I’d take healthy GP2 to contribute for this team over PatC, Pat Bev, or Crowder any day. But I’d also hope for something more valuable if possible.

The second round pick is great, but we also simply can’t have like 7 “young” development projects on this team. We need vet contributors right now, so trading a pick or 2 attached to a player to upgrade makes a lot of sense.

I’m gonna guess that Dame has a pretty low opinion of GP2 weeks. He made some comments about players being soft when Payton was sitting out well past when doctors cleared him.
