Utah Jazz Actively Shopping Trades For No. 10 Pick
so the Jazz are allegedly willing to explore trades for the 10th pick they’re trying to I don’t know if it would be accelerating the rebuild or they’re they’re really trying to be in playoffs and have a legit team around Mr Lowry Markin that’s the report that’s what we’re hearing um if you’re a Utah Jazz fan I want to hear you guys’ opinions do you guys like that is that something you think is foreseeable or worth even going after I’m curious to hear we’re allegedly hearing maybe Jordan Clarkson might be available for trade that depends on who you talk to but it would make sense if they’re choosing Colin they’re going to have to either choose Colin seon or Jordan Clarkson or get rid of both of them and hopefully be able to find whoever they believe is the the guard of the future either via free agency trade or through the draft so I think that’s definitely something that they’re trying to figure out at their own accord as well so I think those are things that like I said they’re trying to figure out but for the Jazz I think the biggest thing that they’re right now looking at is hey we’ve got a young core in Lowry Walker’s stud we’re hearing that John Collins also on the Block which makes sense and the Jazz according to Michael Scot my co-worker at hoopy links in the description they wanted to work out Brony James he said n owner Ryan Smith is looking to add more star power to the roster they have the 29 9 to 32nd pick and they’re trying to at least trade two of those picks they only want to have one pick in this year’s draft either that being an early second or you know one of the firsts but to me it just makes sense that they’re looking at this situation like all right let’s not force our hands and because we talked about it free agency it’s not like they’re going to go out and get somebody huge that’s going to be the the roster changing person I think realistically they’re probably looking at the 10th pick and I don’t think Julius Randle fits this team but maybe a Jeremy Grant point guard who’s a point guard that could be available I don’t I would not trade the 10th pick for any of the point guards on the Orlando Magic but would you try to go get a tius Jones as a stop Gap I don’t know if that’s worth the 10th pick I know it’s a weak draft and as I said before the the top six seven or eight free agents like OG Pascal James Paul George LeBron we all Tyrese Maxi demaro Rosen we all know where they’re going to go I doubt they’re going to go after miles Bridges Malik monk somebody that they could go after it’s not they don’t need another guy like Malik monk even though I love Malik Monk and I think Malik Monk’s great on any team their problem is there’s no point guard and when you look around the NBA Malcolm brogen’s the guy that they can go after again that’s not the 10th pick maybe you use the 29th pick but you want to find obviously some V again if you want to tius Jones you might not get the defense but he’s going to be serviceable I just don’t see a legitimate I mean you can bring Dennis Smith in a free agency to be a backup but you kind of had that with Chris Dunn last year so I’m not surprised that they’re looking to trade this pick cuz also at 10 who are they really going to take it’ be a a wing or a a guard they’re not going to take another big and I I just look at the the contracts in the NBA and it’s very hard for me to picture a guard being available that they could package basically they would have packaging Clarkson and Collins just moving that money and trying to match it to get maybe either in a singular two team trade or a three- team trade is going to be hard because the caliber of players aren’t there available maybe you go after Darius Garland all right you do you want to go down another Cavaliers you know discard basically you kind of went with that with Colin Saxon I think Garland significantly better but again you’re not fixing anything and after that there isn’t really a guard that’s you go Chris Paul and free agency are you g to try to continue to be another team that I mean Jordan P seems like the Wizards want to keep but ex exactly that but Tyler KIRO it’s it’s not the Prett do you want to really go after Deon Murray or Trey young and land one of those fishes is that even possible it’s just hard to see how they’ll improve the roster with what they have available in front of them that’s just my two cents on on that I mean I could be 100% wrong but I’m I’m Amazed by what they’ve done so far as I don’t know what’s the right answer you know let me read thoughts
Utah is expected to explore trading the No. 10 overall pick and the other first-rounders this year, league sources told HoopsHype. There’s a belief from some around the league that Utah’s owner, Ryan Smith, would like to add more star talent to the Jazz, and Ainge has aggressively monitored the trade market. 2 days ago – via HoopsHype

I’d trade collins and try to get a decent shooter with height; start Walker Kessler; keep Keyonte at PG; possibly trade sexton
As a Jazz fan if the Jazz are able to trade for a top 30 player to pair with Lauri with a pick heavy deal and without giving up too many of the young players in the trade (Like Keyonte and Kessler). Then I'm all for accelerating the time line and making a push for the playoffs.
But if a top 30 player doesn't become available for them to trade for then I don't want them making smaller contender type trades for veterans to hopefully push this team into the play-in. I would instead want the team to take the build slower and trade away Clarkson and Collins (for picks and flyers on any young players that haven't panned out yet) and look to bring in 2-3 rookies in this years draft. Then ride with the young players and Lauri for next year and most likely get another top 10 pick in the 2025 draft (plus the additional 2025 draft picks they have). After that they would have gathered together enough player talent that they can look to add supplementary pieces through trades like Houston did this year and push for the playoffs in 2026.
