I want the spurs to stay faaaaar away from Topic. Having knee issues at a young age this early into his šŸ€ career is a MAJOR red flag. We don’t need another Kawhi situation happening.

I’m curious about Buzelis with his versatility, but like 90% of the prospects in this draft you need his shot to come around

This would be the ultimate ” I really think I can fix their shooting” draft class for the Spurs. Both of these guys could be argued for having the individual highest ceilings in this entire class… With the caveat that they become above average three-point shooters at some point. Which is a very big if for both of them.

There’s some positive inklings of Hope, matas was a flamethrower his senior year of high school hitting 40 plus percent on a variety of difficult looks, and topic has really really good touch around the rim and a good free throw stroke.

Matas I’ve been very high on at times but also do acknowledge he’s a risky pic. I think him and Jeremy could be very hard to play together for the first couple years of their career, which doesn’t help a theoretical drafting either

But in the end I wouldn’t mind him. And I am super all in on topic. He’s been my number one with a bullet for a long time now. If he’s healthy and there’s no long-term lasting effects from that, I feel pretty confident he’s going to have the best career of any player in this draft

Drafting two guys who can’t shoot is certainly a choice.

I’m vehemently against drafting topic and matas at 4 is laughable. This is worst case scenario for me.

Is it weird that I would way feel better if they drafted Topic 4 and Matas 8?

I’m super low on Buzelis, both generally and for the Spurs specifically. He’s a purely hypothetical player who doesn’t even make that much sense if he works since his most solid asset, his weak side help defense, is redundant with Wemby since that’s what Wemby does best. He doesn’t help with on-ball defense, he might be a stretch 4, but that’s far from a guarantee, he isn’t a great facilitator, he doesn’t fill our biggest needs and I have zero interest in him at 4.

4 for buzelis seems high, if we took him at 8 that’d make more sense and good chance he’ll be there. Castle or Shep at 4 would be better IMO

I like that the Spurs are always linked to European players, regardless of how they’d fit in the team.

I’m not that high on Buzelis but if the FO thinks he’s the guy then I trust their judgement. I’m probably in the minority but I would rather take Salaun or Knecht or Cody Williams than Buzelis or Holland.

Edit: Why does Buzelis have the “Spacer” badge on their website when he can’t shoot?

This would sour the entire offseason for me

No way! Spurs take Castle (4) and reach for the fences with Salaun (8) as we’ll get a rental in PG (CP3) and get our future PG in 2025 draft. Don’t be surprised if the Spurs do a mini tank to get a great shooting draft pick 2025. Castle’s Dad ā€˜s college roommate has ties to the Spurs and Salaun is tied to Vic’s family (Sisters are šŸ€) My thoughts!
