>I talked with Victor Wembanyama in March. He inspires me every day. Not only for basketball players but for all sports in France, because he makes the impossible possible. He can dribble like a point guard.
If we don’t draft this kid at 7, I am going to cry.

He’s interesting, but still very raw, I think there will be better prospects at 7

I’m so 50-50 on drafting this kid at 7, the hype around him is continuing to build but he’s incredibly raw. I wouldn’t hate it if we did cause I can see the logic, but I also wouldn’t be broken up about if we went with another player either.
Hoping we can get him in town for a workout soon.

Fuck It, I respect the confidence. But surpassing Rayan Rupert? That’s not going to be easy.

Here is a scouting report for Salaun:
>Raw player needing development time, particularly in decision-making and ball-handling
>Struggles with dribbling and has a negative assist-to-turnover ratio, lacking feel for the game
>Not a natural passer or creator for himself or others, with questionable shot selection
>Defensive footwork needs improvement, occasionally caught reaching for steals and losing position
>Rebounding and shot-blocking areas need improvement, requires strength development
>Not strong or instinctive enough to be a rim protector despite potential to be an impact defender
So to summarize: He can’t dribble, rebound, pass, play defense, block shots, or protect the rim. So is he a shooter? Well, no, not really. He shot 33% from 3 (though his FT% is good so maybe he gets there?) and only 40% from 2. I really struggle to see what Salaun does well and he seems like the most raw of all raw prospects. I think he has an extremely high bust potential.

So if we draft him we will have two players that have come out and said they will be better than Wemby…
