I have never wanted a team to hire a coach, purely for the meme potential, more than I want the Lakers to hire JJ Reddick this offseason.
…except maybe a few months ago when Doc snaked his way into the Bucks job.
I really liked Redick as a player, I like him as a podcaster for the most part and I’ve learned a lot about basketball through listening to him, but it still baffles me that someone can go straight to NBA head coach with next to no coaching experience (unless I’m forgetting something), let alone head coach of one of the most iconic NBA franchises.
Not saying I think he’ll be a failure or anything, just a crazy situation.
