The funniest pendulum swing would be if Redick ends up being a good coach 😭

  2. dustinharm

Totally…who doesn’t look at JJ Redick and think to themselves “man that guy reminds me of a young Pat Riley”?

  3. plot twist: Adrien Brody is the new Lakers coach

  4. Complexity777

Lakers go through coaches like it’s nothing and they don’t exactly have a great contending roster next year with a 40 year old Lebron as their anchor

I could see his being another Steve Nash situation, Redick could eventually be a good coach but not never get the chance if Lakers under perform next year

  5. I’m personally looking forward to halftime of game 1 to be 100 percent about the Lakers and JJ.

  6. Open-Somewhere-9535

I view him and someone who is going to get absolutely dumpstered for being patronizing the second the Lakers go on a losing streak

  7. GalactusAteMyPlanet

I dunno about that. Redick doesn’t have a mob boss vibe to him.

  8. ZarduHasselffrau

“His best quality for the job is being LeBron’s friend.”

  9. IdRatherBeShilling

lmao more like a young Jar Jar Binks

  10. BabaBrody

The Lakers think JJ is slicked back, when he’s really pushed back.

  11. recollectionsmayvary

Is this like JJ’s PR spin? Seems like such a wierd talking point to push incessantly.

  12. jfrodriguez1983

    Pat Riley: white
    JJ Redick: white

Bah Gawd they are right! He is a young Riley.

  13. Broad-Part9448

Is anyone there old enough to remember a young Pat Reilly ?

  14. I’m gonna say it.

They’ll hire him, he’ll struggle big time for half the season but they’ll figure it out and he will become the next Pat Riley and lead them to back to back titles in 2027 and 2028 (Riley went back to back in ’87 and ’88) with Bronny James as the back to back Finals MVP.

Save this post. Buy call options. Put it on your fridge.

Buha’s reports always conveniently drop not too long after a Woj or Shams tweet.

  16. Why are they talking themselves into this ? lol

  17. The_Skyro

Damn that is a bad look. Hopefully he is making that up

  18. healthy_as_a_hearse

If anyone is a young Pat Riley, it’s probably Quinn Snyder.

  19. deflatethesack

I love JJs content, but this is a bad idea. Zero coaching experience outside of his 10 years travel club. This is not going to go well for them.

  20. Disastrous-Mango8748

The Lakers are a hilarious organization

  21. IamInternationalBig

In Redick’s defense, Riley was a Lakers broadcaster, then became a Lakers assistant coach for only one season before he became the head coach.

Redick could just as easily be Pat Riley or Steve Kerr rather than Steve Nash. Although having prime Curry/Durant or prime Magic/Jabbar on your team does help matters.

I think the experience of being an NBA player shouldn’t be so easily discounted.

  22. doordaesh

they need to hire someone to help them stop themselves from drinking their own Kool aid

  23. Gristle__McThornbody

No coach is going to turn a team around without the backing of a good front office. Pops hasn’t been any good lately cause the front office hasn’t been able to put a good team on the floor. Phil Jackson won titles cause he coached the best players in history. Even Darvin Ham would win a few titles with those teams. Doesn’t matter who is the coach for the Lakers. The Front office is too stupid to put a good roster on the floor.

  24. Adorable_Scar_9695

Sources: Lakers are absolutely smitten with JJ Reddick, can’t get over how “classy” he is when compared with his predecessor

  25. Low-Presentation-437

This is actually criminal the way there setting up this man for failure

  26. cornbreadsdirtysheet

Well both are slick nepotistic douche daddy’s if that’s what they mean by similar.

  27. This has the opportunity to age terribly or like fine wine. No middle ground.

  28. awibasedgod

I hate this front office so goddamn much

  29. Baby_Yod4

JJ please just coach Lebrons team in Vegas. This pros don’t outweigh the cons at all here. Going to a play in team to try and win a championship and when that doesn’t happen you ruin your reputation. After that nobody will want to hear you draw up plays on your pod no more

  30. Reverend_Tommy

No, LeChump is infatuated with him. Everyone knows by now that this is all about LeBron once again fucking around with the front office. I’m sure this also means the Lakers will waste a draft pick on Bronny to appease the biggest narcissist in the NBA. I hope the Lakers have a decade of rebuilding after this. They deserve it.
