NBA Analyst Wants Knicks To Make BLOCKBUSTER TRADE… | Knicks News

thanks to Leon Rose and this Nicks front office New York is in the best position it’s been in in years to go out this off season and Target the right star that fits this team but that begs the question what player should the Knicks go after who should the Knicks trade for well if you’re asking Kendrick Perkins he wants the Knicks to trade for Anthony Davis Street close himself we’re going you don’t miss a second of the new content and now let’s get started Kendrick Perkins wants the Knicks to trade for Anthony Davis when I first heard this report I was absolutely shocked there have been a number of superstars that have been linked to the Knicks over the past few seasons but Anthony Davis has just not been one of them in fact ad hasn’t been linked to the Knicks since his time with the Pelicans that’s how long it’s been however I think we all remember Leon Rose and Rich Paul a few months ago they met in New York City they hashed out their issues and now they’re putting the pass behind them and they’re ready to move forward the right way and that was all Kendrick Perkins needed to hear for him to link the Knicks to Anthony Davis and want New York to trade for ad shout out to scoot B who recently had Kendrick Perkins on his podcast and when he did have him on his podcast he was asking him questions about the Knicks and Anthony Davis came up and according to Kendrick Perkins he would like to see ad as a New York Nick here’s his exact quote about that according to perk the only thing that I’m keeping my eye on is I’m monitoring that Lakers situation Anthony Davis John caliper William worldwide West Wesley the Kentucky days we heard the rumors then Rich Paul sat down with the front office and they made amends after not communicating and all that we don’t know what’s going to go down in LA right JJ reick might be the front runner for that job I don’t know if you’re ad I gotta see how it looked perk continues by stating JJ you’re here to make me look good are you here to benefit me or what if not I’m bouncing and New York is the place they got the picks they got the assets and guess what ad and Madison Square Garden with beef and body Brunson you know what I’m saying stop playing stop playing you like it see everybody’s not thinking about ad I am if you’re ad you’re looking at it like hold on man okay cool what we doing and who we hiring what are you doing here who are you here for you here for me shout out to perk for his passion to take about the Knicks going after Anthony Davis but here’s the thing I understand that at the time he was talking about it JJ reick was the front runner for that La job but right now as of this recording Yukon coach Dan Hurley is likely going to be the next head coach of the Lakers but let’s say Kendrick Perkins is talking about the fact that a coach change potentially could mean AD wants to leave because maybe that coaching change doesn’t favor ad doesn’t help ad get better and if that’s the case maybe he does want to leave and if Lon Rose and Rich Paul did hash out all of their issues which is exactly what Kendrick Perkins is saying here if all of that is true then maybe if Anthony Davis becomes available I can see Leon Rose in the Knicks picking up the phone and calling about the asking price what would it take to get Anthony Davis on this team because if you look at it just in terms of skill set talent and what he could mean to this team we always needed a five that can shoot threes play inside outside we always needed a stretch five that can shoot threes play inside outside block shots have high level defense but also be able to score with the best of them Anthony Davis can do that when he’s healthy but the reason everybody calls him street clothes is because often often times he’s not healthy he’s nursing an injury and he’s not there when you need him the most that’s why it’s always a risk to trade for him I know he’s a champion I know even this past season he looked very good he was dominant in the playoffs he had very good games it was unfortunate though that a lot of his teammates on the Lakers didn’t step up and show up when he needed them the most so the Lakers really couldn’t get anything done that’s why they’re bringing in a new coach they need a coach that can help develop the other players that are not LeBron James and AD those players don’t need developing the rest of the Lakers do and they need to understand how to play with ad and LeBron but if that can’t happen and AD becomes available I don’t think the Knicks are going to actually trade for ad they might ask about his asking price and see the cost and what it would take to get him but I don’t think they would pull the trigger on that trade for a multitude of reasons but the main one would be cost the cost to get Anthony Davis would be astronomic I can’t even imagine what it would be maybe four or five picks Julius Randall maybe you’re talking about ad dece McBride a couple of other pieces it just doesn’t make sense it doesn’t work and if you’re giving up all of that to get Anthony Davis at the end of the day are you a better team are you going to be able to compete for a championship after you make that trade because that’s what you have to think about in my opinion if you make that trade it doesn’t guarantee an NBA Finals appearance and you have less flexibility because you just gave away all of your assets to get ad remember just because a star is available doesn’t mean the Knicks have to jump at the opportunity and trade for that player it’s all about fit and it’s all about cost yes ad fitwise he fits everywhere including the Knicks but cost-wise does he fit Leon Rose I don’t think so and if that doesn’t add up then Leon Rose is not going to go after that player he would probably rather go after another player that fits this roster just a little bit better and cost less and Leon Rose is going to find that player he always does he did this past season with OG an anobi he struck gold with that trade not having to give up any of his first round picks and kept the flexibility if he’s able to resign Isaiah hartenstein and OG anobi on Fair deals which I think we all expect him to do he’s going to keep that flexibility have all of his assets and go out there to get the right place is Anthony Davis the right player for this team right now given his injury history because in my opinion he’s not we’ve already seen with Mitchell Robinson when you have a starting center with the injury history of a Mitchell Robinson or an Anthony Davis sometimes when you’re playing a game that matters the most sometimes let’s say in the postseason they may not be available because they’re dealing with injury and if you’re playing under a head coach like Tom tiido that might happen even more so because SBS is going to get the best defense out of ad I absolutely believe that but with that is going to likely come some injuries and they’re going to be nagging injuries and he’s going to have to deal with them all season long and that’s basically what’s plagued him throughout his entire career nobody likes to deal with injuries ad as a big man has dealt with injuries legitimately for his entire career probably since joining the Lakers after winning that chip in the bubble he has been dealing with injuries non stop missing so many games could you imagine what the New York media would do to him let alone the media could you imagine what the fans would do to him if he missed each and every game constantly missing games not able to play I can remember a few years ago the Knicks had Amari stmy stat and I wanted stat to play each and every game but I knew after a certain point in time I knew stat wasn’t going to play and even when he did play I knew he wasn’t going to be the same player because of the injuries we got to think about that as well too when it comes to ad sure he’s good now but when you trade for him how long is he going to be good for and under a coach like Tom tiido how many good years is he going to have left we’re going to have to consider that because as you get older in this game as a big man and you’re getting injured a lot that doesn’t stop when you get older it only continues it only intensifies and if you’re playing high level defense each and every night those injuries are going to stack up I don’t know if ad is going to want to put his body through that for multiple years multiple seasons and see potentially if that can lead him to a championship because again if the Knicks even made the trade for ad it doesn’t guarantee you go all the way to the NBA finals look at the Lakers LeBron and AD they have Austin Reeves a very good Prospect and they’re still not able to get to the NBA finals I stand they on the west and the East is a little bit weaker but I think even if you switch that I don’t think that guarantees a win in the East either because the East has gotten better and the teams at the top are very good and they’re only getting better talking about the Knicks talking about Milwaukee talking about Boston talking about Philly it’s not as easy as it used to be I don’t know if the Knicks want to take a risk and take a chance to go after ad right now because maybe he’ll give you a couple of good years but then after that he is going to be a weight on your roster and it’s going to be very hard to move him because in my opinion as he gets older he is going to get a lot more injuries racked up on him so taking all of those factors into account I’m good on ad he can stay with LA he can stay with LeBron and he can do what he can do with the LA Lakers I don’t want to see him with the Knicks I don’t want to see the Knicks trade for him and I don’t want to see him on this roster I think he would be killed by the fans killed by the media and killed by a lot of other people around the NBA the moment he starts to miss consecutive games because if the Knicks are trading for ad they’re doing so to help their chances in the postseason but if he’s injured and he doesn’t show up in the postseason he is going to hear about it from everybody that’s why I think the Knicks should just go ahead and avoid this situation all together and look at other stars around the league again ad in terms of skill set he does fit but everything else when you consider it especially his injury past it doesn’t make sense for the Knicks to risk so much give up so many assets to get Anthony Davis on this team but what about you guys what do you think about these reports from Kendrick
