Since he is working out for the team today. I just want to share one of the best public scouts in Keandre. Knecht seems like he would fit really well as an off ball guy, but the defense has more to be desired. What are your thoughts on him?

A pass for me at 7 due to the defensive liability, a hard yes for me at 14 tho if he’s there
Honestly I could understand taking him at 7 if Clingan is gone. Add a solid scorer who can compliment the young core.
He isn’t the sexy pick, but he’d have a role on the roster day 1 and I think you can expect the shooting to carry over into the NBA
Excels off ball and at movement shooting…decent size.. some self creation chops, underrated athleticism. His skillset would definitely be a good fit for us and would help a guy like Scoot out.
Dude has no chance to be a defender at the next level. I don’t think you can take a 23 year old defensive liability at 7. Way too low upside a pick for how bad we are. Even if we swung and missed on Williams or Salaun I’d feel better about the philosophy of the pick.
14 🙏
Please don’t pick this guy.
I don’t care if he 3 and no d. I just want someone Scoot can setup up for a shot and I have a little hope it might go in. We seriously need a shooter for Scoots growth and growth of our team overall. If not hope you all ready for some more Grant and Simons iso’s
No way this guy falls to #14. Shooting is highly valued in the NBA, and the top of this draft doesn’t have much of it.
Way back in the day I had a job testing video games on the Xbox. You’d be assigned a random game which you had to play for 2 hours, noting any weird things that happened. Usually nothing happened (there were like 80 people in the room all doing this with different games)
Anyway, if you were lucky, you’d get a game that would keep you entertained for a while (ex: minecraft.) If you were unlucky, you were playing the first two hours of the campaign in Battlefield or Ryse: Son or Rome for the 10th or 11th time.
If you got REALLY unlucky, you got assigned….Kinectimals. Everyone else got to sit down. You had to use the Kinect to play a kids game for 2 hours.
Anyway, if we draft him i’m dubbing him “The Knechtimal”
To the people hoping he will be there at 14, he won’t. Remember a few weeks back the NBA polled the lotto teams to get a lost of their top 10 players so they could get those players to release medicals to the lotto teams? Knecht was on there as a top 10 prospect (rated by these teams picking in that range) no way he falls to 14
I think he is being overlooked by the fan base. He is NBA ready, great shooter and 39 inch vert. You can only have so many 19-22 year olds on the team developing. He may lack the upside of some of the other picks due to his age, but personally I would love him at #7. Fits in with our core’s timeline perfectly, and I think could become a + defender.
klay thompson had a similar scouting report as this guy apparently coming into the draft. not everyone is a ready made defensive player coming out of college. the important thing is that he does have pretty good size and wingspan along with upper athletic ability. who knows what he ends up being but for anyone to conclude that he’s gonna be some massive negative on defense as a guarantee are talking outta there ass. we just don’t know. tennessee sure didn’t seem limited defensively playing him heavy minutes with a huge offensive workload to tire him out.
