[Krawczynski] One important point here: Bloomberg’s arrival will not have an impact on the arbitration ruling. That case is centered around what happened leading up to the March 27 deadline. If Lore/ARod prevail, his addition could be considered in the NBA approval process

Seems like they are confident in arbitration then. Bye bye Glen

  2. Yup. Definitely feels like a play to eliminate concerns for a Board of Governors vote.

My take is that Bloomberg is coming in so they have enough money to make an offer somewhere between the contract price of 1.5 billion and the current valuation. If the current valuation is 3 billion then maybe all parties settle for 2.25 billion rather than either side risking a loss in arbitration. Any responsible attorney will tell you that even the most slam dunk case is not certain to win in any legal proceedings.

Glen looks good because he got more money for the minority owners (and himself). ARod, Lore, and Bloomberg still get an incredible deal on the team and instant appreciation from the fan base for putting the issue to bed far ahead of next season.

I’m not a huge fan of Bloomberg but if the plan is to build a regional sports broadcaster then this move makes me confident that this is a long term stay in Minnesota.

Could affect the Board of Directors decision though.
