[Jeff Goodman] HUGE DAY as Dan Hurley will meet with the Lakers brass in Los Angeles. One source close to Hurley told it’s “50-50” whether he heads to the NBA or returns to UConn. Source told @TheFieldOf68 UConn has strong offer on table, but obviously can’t match or even get close to Lakers

Pretty sure this isn’t going to drag past the weekend or mid next week at the latest. He either takes it or he doesn’t and the backup will be JJ.

Rob and Jeanie gotta kill it today. Sell this man on a dream.

50-50 ain’t good enough. Bring the Brinks truck TO the meeting!

Would be a massive failure if this doesn’t happen

Why do I feel like we are being used as leverage

Winning Pitch: Here’s a 6-year contract, we’re gonna milk the last 2-3 years of LeBron and surround him with the players you want for your system and try to compete for a championship then we’ll transition into a rebuild with AD and build a winning culture back here in LA again. We need you at the helm of this new dynasty. Whatever player, staff you want, you got it.

  7. Won’t be surprised if this falls through and he stays at Uconn.

If Dan in his heart still wants to be at UConn then there’s literally nothing the Lakers can do. Other than that being the reason, the Lakers need to do anything in their power to make sure he signs.

  9. I trust Woj over this guy! Sure Woj said no decision but that man is way too excited

Please do not fumble this. If we miss out on this guy and have to settle for JJ Podcast I don’t even know anymore lol.

Drop 20m in front of him and call it a day

As odd as it sounds, I think the family business/small front office stuff might actually work in our favor. If it’s going to be a true partnership, Hurley will become part of the Laker family instead of joining a huge organization with a lot of stakeholders

I think they Lakers get it done

But as for the source… they basically said they don’t know anything when they said the chance was as good as guessing.

Death of the lakers if this doesn’t get done

MONEY TALKS. Especially for head coaches when we are talking about 80-100 million. 🙏🙏🙏

Don’t want to be pessimistic but I think this is not happening lmao.

JJ will still be the coach.

To me , he has no reason to stay at the college level. Everything he has done there the past 15 years has set up his next chapter as an NBA coach. The front office will throw the kitchen sink at him and it will be deserved as he will end up being one of the highest paid coaches in the league. There is nothing left to prove, this opportunity with the Lakers is what he has worked so hard for, it’s the big pay off. Bar him wanting to stay in Uconn specifically, I don’t see him not taking the job.

I saw a local news story about it and one of their “experts” really tried to guilt trip him by reminding him of what the players and families would think if he went back on the commitment to them and left. lol Like players aren’t one and done before they go on to bigger opportunities. 15 years coaching at the college level, this man gave them everything and when it was time to collect they really tried to guilt trip him on the local news 😭

If he doesn’t agree to be our coach then JJ will be the backup plan
