Al Horford you have changed my life once again

  2. chrismatic13

Where’s Draymond Green???? And people pay that guy to talk about basketball

  3. I_Set_3_Alarms

Another great move about KP coming off the bench is that Al got to start again going into the finals. Even if he goes back to the bench in the future, you know after 2022 Al and the rest of the starting lineup (outside of Jrue) are itching to correct that mistake

I’m turning 39 this month and he’s giving me life.

  5. Giannis and Embiid high fiving each other since they just got another brother.

FOUR MORE YEARS! FOUR MORE YEARS!

  7. That’s a big deal for the defense if they can’t take advantage of that matchup. We’ll see how it holds up going forward but wow

  8. ChickenWhiskers

The Mavericks haven’t played a team with a big that can defend from anywhere (maybe Chet but he looked green and confused all series). When you lock up Lively and Gafford 19 feet from the rim that’s gonna be a pretty difficult alley-oop for Luka to create, just sayin’.

  9. PumpPie73

Al knows this is his last shot so he’s going to give it everything he has.

Get the man a ring before he rides off into the sunset.

  11. Horford actually matches up very well against Luka for a big man as his weakness in defending the perimeter is against quick guards. Luka relies on strength and methodically getting to his spots which is easier for Horford to handle. He will have a much easier time in this series against Dallas compared to Indiana as long as he isn’t somehow put on an island against Kyrie.

Everyone looked at Mitchell cooking horford and assumed that would happen with Luka. But Luka is not as shifty as those players so guys like horford and Hauser do a better job on him than quick guards.

  13. He blocked a Luka jumper and was a centimeter away from blocking one of Kyrie’s too. Al is unbelievable.

“He’s so old. I don’t know how he’s still out there doing it at 38. What a legend. I’ll miss him when he’s gone” -Me, a 37 year old.

2 days between games is so good for Al.

Also good for Luka and his clearly busted leg. But better for Al and the ability to recover.

  16. HolyTythinEar

You can tell he wants this ring badly. Man is going all out. If it weren’t for LeBron, we’d all be talking about Al Horford and how he’s been able to continue being an effective player on a contender at 38 years old

  17. thumbsup_baby

That rest was very much needed. Papa Al is gon’ get that ring.

  18. dcrico20

If we don’t win this one my biggest disappointment will be Al not getting a ring.

I grew up in Boston but have now lived in Atlanta for twenty years so I’ve watched Al’s entire career less like two seasons or something, and he’s always been super likable and a great player. Super easy to root for and as much as I’d hate to see him do so, the guy deserves to retire a champ.

Got a Mavs thread recommended to me where OP basically said that our top 8 aside from Horford can all shoot threes and defend. Truly a person who seemed to not watch and/or understand basketball

  20. The tweet’s missing the most important stat: 1 pair of ankles broken

  21. Swarthykins

It’s been said over and over – he’s a different player when he’s playing 25-30 minutes. Also, Luka’s not that quick, Horford matches up well. He does well against strong guys who he can play smart and just stay in position. It’s why he was always good against Giannis and Embiid.

  22. Please just let him get b2b championships in college and the NBA. Legend

  23. Alpal487

Always blows me away when I remember Al is a year older than me

  24. TroyBarterSales

If we pull this off, seeing Al get that ring is going to be one of my fav happy endings in all of basketball history

  25. ThundergunIsntAVerb

Also the oldest player to open scoring in the finals with a dunk probably

  26. JFKexperience112263

Al Horford and locking up the opposing teams foreign star, like butter on toast

  27. chomerics

Good ole “Average Al” doing average stuff like shutting down Luka . . .

Just an awesome player. Had a great discussion about him last night, my favorite Celts FA in history. He got a lot of shit because if his contract, but he is nails with occasional outbursts of scoring
