The Perfect Starting Five For The *Paul George* Route

The Perfect Starting Five For The *Paul George* Route

today I’m going over my personal favorite starting five if the Sixers accomplish their goal of signing Paul George now my starting two guard would be Alex Caruso unfortunately he is unrealistic the Bulls didn’t even field calls regarding him at the trade deadline and recently Joe Cy from the Chicago Times wrote unless a team comes in with an offer the Bulls can’t refuse Caruso isn’t going anywhere the hope is the two sides can try working on an extension this summer now putting myself in the shoes of Daryl Mory Elton brand Nick nurse the decision makers they gotta say to themselves are big three are a dynamic offensive group they should be able to carry a heavy load pause offensively and to get the potential out of them offensively I need to make sure they don’t have huge huge responsibilities like the defensive potential of the Sixers can’t just rely on what type of embiid we’re going to get in terms terms of Engagement because last season if embiid was focused yes they would have a pretty damn good defense but it was all because of embiid’s presence as a seven-footer you also need to get better defensive pieces for Tyrese Maxi and especially Paul George who was 34 years old and kind of declining on that end of the floor in my opinion they need to find a guard who is going to take on the opposing team’s best guard no matter the matchup like last year we kind of had to have Kelly UB on the guard matchup and then if the other team had a good forward it kind of put the Sixers at a disadvantage in terms of size but if you have a guy who you know is going to match up against Damen Lillard who’s going to match up against Jaylen Bronson it’s just a huge Advantage for your team and it’s just nice for everyone else to know okay we’re going in against the New York Knicks we know this guy’s guarding Jaylen brunon we don’t got to worry about putting a bigger defender on him or whatever and that also goes to the forward position you’re going to need a forward who’s going to take on the opposing team’s best forward every single night so there’s no question and so 34 yearold Paul George doesn’t have to match up with the best forward every single night every single possession it’s just not worth it in an 82 game schedule and trust me Paul George is not going to want to do that at this point in his career he’s not going to want to focus on that and another thing to keep in mind the more you lessen the responsibility on your star pieces the more you will get out of them in terms of hustling and defense and two-way play that brings me to the trade machine the Brooklyn Nets who knows what they’re doing but one of Cam Johnson mcel Bridges and Dorian finny Smith has to be traded or they are incompetent well they’re incompetent but I think finy Smith is going to get dealt somewhere and they don’t have a pick this year so I’d offer number 16 another future first for Dorian finny Smith he’s the perfect starting forward for the Sixers in the Paul George route you want a guy whose offense is all about catching and shooting and also capable of beating Closeouts but also a guy who is going to you know get close outs from defenses because he’s respected as a catch and shoot player his time in Brooklyn has been very weird he hasn’t been surrounded with the talent that would get the most out of him so it was pretty predictable that his stats would go down he’s basically been playing with other versions of himself like cam Johnson virtually the same player Miguel Bridges an upgraded version of finny Smith those are not the players that are going to get the most out of him he needs to be around star players star offensive pieces who have gravity shot creators and also good Playmakers like Maxi and embiid and also Paul George and that’s when you’ll get the most out of him offensively on the Sixers I’m very confident he’d revert back to his 2022 stat line rather than his Brooklyn stat line he averaged 11 points was shooting five threes a game at 40% the last season in Dallas and he was also a very consistent playoff riser in Dallas last two playoff series he shot 42% from three on six attempts per game and also he can guard multiple positions which allows you to get creative scheme-wise Paul George and Dorian finny Smith can just switch if um both their players are setting a screen or whatever cuz basically they’re the same archetype he’ll also gladly take the Jason Tatum Jimmy Butler Luca Don Kevin Durant matchups for the majority of the game he’s just a seamless fit offensively and defensively in my opinion I actually really liked Kyle Lowry in the starting unit because of his IQ he was effective for the offense and defense because of that he was just unfortunately too old to produce at a high level consistently so for the last starting spot I’d sign Chris Dunn with the 8 million midlevel exception the Sixers have available he kind of reminds me of a Kyle Lowes player he’s one of the best perimeter defenders in the league one of the best Alex Caruso type he’s unbelievable he’s going to be creating transition opportunities from him poking the ball loose he would instantly BR Brunson Damen Lillard Steph Curry type of guard stopper and would really just help at the point of attack and navigating around screens and then offensively he’s a very good playmaker he can play the point guard position for units you could have Maxi running off ball more have him playing off ball more running off screens and things like that because Chris Dunn can handle like a point guard because he actually is a point guard an old school type of point guard now most of his value is going to come from the defensive end hustling and doing the little things that don’t show up in the Box Score but don’t get it twisted he’s no slouch offensively just nothing special he shot 38.5% on catch and shoot threes overall he really makes things happen when the defense is scrambling it’d be nice to have five guys be confident quick trigger Shooters but unfortunately every roster outside of Boston that just isn’t really feasible Maxie Paul George Dorian finy Smith those guys are really quick trigger Shooters Joel embiid also you know he’s going to be open on the perimeter and he can shoot so you’re going to have four capable Shooters in the starting unit but Chris Dunn kind of inconsistent at times can go hot and cold old his confident level can be up and down but overall he makes up for it on the defensive end of the floor and creating transition opportunities off his defense that would be my perfect starting unit with Paul George and I actually think it’s somewhat realistic so let me know your thoughts Below in the comments section I honestly believe this starting unit I assembled has the capability of being one of the best offensive and defensive units in the league if they develop the proper chemistry also I think by next year Maxi most games is going to be a positive Defender he made strides last season that don’t really get acknowledged he still is going to have shortcomings on that end because of his size at times but he usually is always hustling and that’s half the battle to be quite honest with you and off the ball he misses rotations of course but he has gotten way better at that compared to his rookie season however let me know your thoughts on my starting five in the comments comment section give me yours starting five in the comment section below if you enjoyed at any point leave a like And subscribe if you got time check out my other videos most importantly have yourself a great day 1. So you're folding the tent on Caruso – and it''s probably realistic – unlike the Bulls who are totally unrealistic. THey're just racing towards another play in loss season. And yup – Sixers need offense off the bench, but, defense with the starting 5 if they get one of the old expensive guys.

  2. That’s a good five. Off the bench I would try to get Cam Payne, Lonnie Walker IV, Kevon Looney, and, if possible, Kelly Oubre

  3. I don’t think the Wolves can keep Alexander – walker, he wouldn’t be expensive and his role could be the lockdown defender.

  4. 2 picks for Finney Smith is RIDICULOUS πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

But I do like his fit.

  5. 8 mil for Dunn? I feel like he can be signed for vet minimum. He was out of the league not too long ago.

  6. This dude said 2 first rounders for Smith! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ He's smoking

  7. The Sixers need to trade Joel Embiid he’s never available and when he is available he’s never πŸ’―% healthy and he plays better in the regular season than he does in the playoffs the Sixers will never win anything with him if they get any of those players they will not win because Embiid will be hurt like always it’s time to move on from him

  8. I think we need a back up center whos a starter. We need to rest Embiid during the regular season. If we play a trash team, give Joel 24 mins and give someone like Drummond the other 24 to limit his workload. Other than that, we need guys like Dunn and Finney Smith to defend. We are the only playoff team who had 2 different players drop 40+ points in seperate games. Think about that. Tatum and Brown didnt do that, Jokic and Jamaal, Bron and AD, KD and Booker. Put 3 and D guys around Maxey and Embiid and we have the best starting 5 in the league.

  9. Not a fan of finny Smith, i don't see anyone offering that package for him. Also, Fuk Brooklyn. No 1st pick after all those moves and grand standing Smh. No one wants Miles Bridges ok, but Wendell Carter Jr next to Embiid can work.

Romp im still seeing the salary dump as our last/ only option.
Lavine+ Caruso or P. Williams PF. For
    P. Reed + 2 picks. And they send us a 2nd.
    Caruso
    Maxey
    Lavine
    Carter Jr /P.Williams
    Embiid

    Drummond
    Curry
    Dunn/ payne
    Counsel
    Roco
    Bautum?

  10. Dude the Bulls are full of Crap.

They playing hardball with Alex Caruso because it make no sense to rebuild around a 30 Years Old 3&D Player in Alex who's a perfect fit for a Win Now Team, not rebuild team.

So if the Sixers get PG13, then they better be willing to give up 2 first for Alex or if they get LeBron, then willing to give up 3 First for Alex Caruso the Best Guard you can put beside Maxey.

  11. what’s this obsession with finney smith?? I don’t get why he’s always mentioned in,dude isn’t that good lol

  12. You must have been using drugs when you this post??? This video is absolutely ridiculous. Why do people want to give a max contract to player that's 34, declining, & injury prone??? Why would you give up 2 1st picks & paul reed for Finny??? That team would be a 1st or 2nd exit.

  13. Bruhh stick to something else bcuz wtf is dis an who tf wants Dunn let alone as a starter beside maxey u must be high dudeπŸ€¦πŸΎβ€β™‚οΈπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

  14. Drummond should be the next guy to sign after PG. finney-smith it's ok but not for 2 1st. Payne, Oubre, Barum, Caruso od we can Bering Gim for those 2 1st you mentioned. We could gry to sign and trasΔ™ Melton for him

  15. This starting 5 is solid if we go the PG or Lebron route. But the starting 5 (even with Tobias) wasn't the problem. The problem was zero help from the bench. Make a video with this starting 5 but fill out the bench please.

  16. Would we still be able to sign back Oubre and maybe Batum/Lowry in this scenario?

  17. I like your 5 but I woudl make a hard push for Caleb Martin with the MLE with maybe 2 or 3 M added on to it. Martin is a bigger more proven player not to mention a much better 3 Point Shooter than Dunn. Martin only made about 6M this year. An MLE(8m) with 3m added for 3 years could work for Martin. Caleb can also guard 3s and 4s unlike Dunn.
