I don’t remember who it was but I remember someone on the Warriors was doing an air drum roll when Silver was announcing the FMVP and when Silver said “back to back FMVP” the player stopped and looked so confused. He 100% thought Steph was getting it.

    Happens at like 20 seconds.

Lmfao KD came to Golden State, took 2 MVPs from Steph then dipped

  3. Death-2-Israel

He tried padding his numbers in game 4 too as a last ditch effort to win it and still finished with less points, rebounds, and assists and 10% worse efficiency than KD lmfao. And Warriors fans still tried to say he got robbed

Lol Warriors fans swore up and down this wasn’t the case when this was happening in real time.

  5. P5FMVP2030

He did actually cry going down the tunnel after a win and iggy had to console him.

I mean this was fkn obvious for anyone who watched the 2018 finals. I mean the guy looked heartbroken after the win

  7. MrGoodKarma_

Yeah Steph was PISSED after that game…I remember seeing KD wrap his arms around him heading into the locker room

I don’t think this says anything bad about steph lol, dude’s one of the best players of all time and ultra competitive, of course he wants to win everything he can, him being emotional after makes sense.

The Steph revisionism post KD Warriors needs to actually be studied. Because no one, i mean almost no-one credible saw those finals as a showdown between Steph and Lebron.

KD was always ranked either Number 1 or 2 best player in the world in all the ranking lists during those 3 years while Steph was firmly contending for the 3rd spot. Amazing what one shoe size difference can do to the narratives.

  10. KnickedUp

When you roll back the video you can tell he was heartsick

  11. ObiOneKenobae

It was pretty hilarious watching KD win the second one while actively force-feeding Steph trying to help him win FMVP.

  12. JaysonTatumOverrated

Fuck that entire era of basketball

  13. WrongMomo

Its funny because Warrior fans tried convincing everyone Steph didn’t care. He tried so hard to stat pad in game 4 but the game 3 blunder was so terrible they had to give KD the Finals mvp. Then fans tried to paint the narrative that KD was the selfish one and when the KD gets open looks because of Steph narrative started

If this was Jordan or Kobe It’s passion for the game 😂😂😂😂

  15. TallanoGoldDigger

Lmao Nick Young doing the same shit that made him mad at DLo in the first place

  16. RealLanceStorm

Gilbert Arenas trying to sell it like this is a real thing that happens often between teammates because of the Brown/Tatum convos.

Curry/KD is the only situation like that where they knew they’d win the ring ahead of the finals and could prioritize stat hunting for MVP. Current Celtics and other teams aren’t at that level of cheat mode to be prioritizing MVP chasing tiers above their opponents.

This thread is just warrior “fans” jerking eachother off lol

  18. furyousferret

Its like the late 10s all over again, this sub was basically LeBron stans trashing Steph in one thread and Steph stans trashing LeBron in another. There was just some straight hate between the two sides lol.

  19. antieverything

“Almost started crying” is the least charitable way of saying “didn’t cry”.

  20. AccomplishedBake8351

Imagine this story if it was about Lebron lol

  21. I’m a huge Steph fan and doesn’t see this as a negative. I believe them. Steph was so damn happy in 2022 because he could finally shut everyone up.

  22. Why does Gilbert talk like he knows how it feels to win anything ?

  23. newaccount

The Dubs tried so hard to give it to steph. In the 2 blow out games KD took 5 shots in the fourth quarters, Steph got 28 of his 110 points for the series. They just feed him over and over

  24. Man I don’t miss the KD warriors. Such a broken team that the biggest competition was who was going to win finals MVP

  25. Equivalent_Papaya893

There is video of him crying after game 3 walking in the tunnel with iggy. That bad game cost him the FMVP

  26. simonffplayer

i think it’s pretty obvious that in the court of public opinion, those KD warriors teams are regarded as some of the best teams ever, but it also kinda hurt both KD and steph’s personal legacies

  27. pRophecysama

“The fact that I shot it horribly, was all over the place. I made one shot towards the end of the game. KD makes the big three. We go up 3-0 and it’s like we’re good. But the Finals MVP, I knew it was done after that. It was part of the emotional rollercoaster where I was like ‘Oh that would have been cool to have kept that level of play going because that might have got there. But it’s also we won. So you’re dealing with a little bit of both of that. And it’s more I think Andre had his arm around me on the way back to the tunnel. We had just won and I was downing myself because of how I played”
