[Dalzell] Jaden Springer told me the Celtics culture is a big reason why they’re here: “We’re a real unit. Ever since I got here, it feels like a family. Everybody can depend on each other. Everybody’s always in a good mood, happy to see each other. Everybody wakes up happy to be here.”

Wish him well but the guy’s played a total of 14 minutes in the playoffs, all garbage time

Pretty sure dude would’ve said the same thing if he was part of the Jail Blazers team and they made the finals

The implication here, presumably, is that the Sixers are not a unit. But winning breeds that. The logic is circular.

It’s hard to look at the Sixers the last few years prior to this one and think great culture. I think anyone would agree the culture has just been off for awhile. Last year seemed like a step in the right direction. I really think having high quality character veterans like Batum matters.

another big reason is because they don’t need to give minutes to guys like jaden springer

Team culture is definitely not the difference between the Celtics and Sixers. I think it’s safe to say the bigger difference is one team starts 5 two-way players and the other starts 1 or 2 two-way players

This guy spent his first two years in the league (not) playing for Doc Rivers, and he’s not even talking shit about the Sixers, just the normal “happy to be here” stuff. Seems like a pretty high character person.

These are nice words from Springer to say about his current team. But the reality is the Celtics have two All-NBA players and by far the best 1-8 lineup in the league. Their talent is better than everyone else, including the Sixers. Their talent advantage is the reason they are there. The culture of being in a good mood and depending on one another is a byproduct of winning.

  10. Everybody says this every time they come to a new team. It’s boilerplate. Have you guys just started watching basketball?

  11. Best team in the league i mean i hate Boston but ti wake up with the best 6 every day Id be ecstatic
