awaited NBA finals MVP 14 time NBA Allstar All-Star game MVP a 10 time all NBA first teamer you get the point but he was also a great architect of some of the great Golden State Warriors teams and helped this organization reach New Heights in winning NBA championships there are few people in the history of basketball Who Loved hoop more than Jerry West so instrumental to Golden State’s this according to a report Klay Thompson is pissed off at Draymond Green this is nothing new for Draymond Green obviously he’s rubbed a lot of people the wrong way from players on the opposing team to Kevin Durant and others but for Klay Thompson little bit surprising if this is true because Klay Thompson is a mild mannered cat who likes to swim in the bay take his boat out usually he’s cool C and collected but what could have happened for Draymond Green to piss off Klay Thompson draymond’s comment Klay touris ACL they paid him $160 million Klay Thompson probably hears that he reads that and says well hold on we don’t win those titles if I’m not a part of that team and you think that I’m just given that that I didn’t earn it keep in mind these guys are Uber competitive right Cutthroat assassins that’s what it takes to be a 1center and a professional athlete that’s what it takes to be some of the greatest players of all time right so a little comment like that can rub somebody the wrong way there’s an Unwritten rule it’s considered taboo for NBA players to discuss contracts and what others make and Klay Thompson according to a report took offense to that there’s also this this is coming from your boy right here you don’t talk about another man’s Pockets here’s what clay had to say during his exit interview on April 17th let’s revisit that well you could imagine if they didn’t pay me after I got hurt that would have been really bad five straight finals and you blow your knee out yeah sorry I think Klay Thompson is in a spot couple of Seasons that he missed due to injury the ACL and then the Achilles he comes back little bit of a rough go helped the Warriors win an NBA championship his numbers the last two seasons have been solid but then in the playoffs he’s pretty rich Market in NBA free agency ESP especially from some teams who are on the precipice of either making a deeper playoff run or competing for an NBA championship what are the Orlando Magic need they have the young star and Paulo benero you have France vager Vagner a couple of other really good pieces in the playoffs against Cleveland they were ice cold from Deep what’s Klay Topson specialty shooting The Rock Oklahoma City Thunder they could have used another rotation piece and that calming veteran presence against the Dall Al Mavericks when they were getting blitzed late in games by Luca donic and Kyrie Irving Klay Thompson there that works out they can pay him and he can chase the title then you have the Philadelphia 76ers can you imagine how many open looks Kay could get playing alongside Tyrese Maxi and Joel embiid he’d be able to cook now there’s been no notable movement on contract talks with golden state it’s the other teams outside of the Warriors who are really showing interest in paying clay and wanting clay and I imagine that rubs him some type of way now Anthony Slater of the athletic with the newer update Klay Thompson appears ready to test free agency Waters down some wine you smoke some cigars in California you can smoke something else maybe Klay Thompson takes you out onto the boat and you can have a good time and you can hash out your differences this is what Draymond had to say about his counterpart I ultimately hope that he’s back here that we can all close this thing out together the way that we’ve done it continue to chase after the things we know are out there for us which is winning championships continuing to bring more success to a franchise than anyone can imagine besides Joe LOB Jo definitely imagined but nobody else really imagined having this level of sustained success and as I noted a little bit earlier it’s important to bring this point back up and why the Warriors might be realistically looking at moving on from Klay Thompson Joe lob wants to be under the luxury tax so what could happen here some moves that we know are going to happen which ones are going to take place you cut cavon Looney you cut Chris Paul that’s 100 $37 million right there Joe lob if you want to give me some of that I’ll take it Klay Thompson resigns for $20 million per year that might be below what he gets from other teams that’s $157 million the salary left to sign free agents 14 mil you’re talking about a lot of vetman deals in which the cash flow is a little bit tight so could lob cough up a little bit more money my response to Joe lob would be this come on homie you’ve made a lot of bread you are still very rich the Golden State Warriors have been an absolute Cash Cow you have won four titles you have Steph Curry on your team Steph Curry is still hooping he’s still balling he’s still Elite top five player in the NBA you put some better pieces around him you can get back to Championship contention but right now your team simply is not good enough with the way that it’s constructed to do that so go into the luxury tax don’t worry about having to stay under that tax Chase championships and continue to be a champion be hot and heavy for the services of Klay Topson this offseason and then you go back to Anthony Slater is that the situation with Clay remains very unsettled behind the scenes and again I’ve kind of worked our way up to this quote from Anthony Slater the things that we’ve talked about have led to an unsettling situation you see what I’ve been getting at throughout the entire show I’m just trying to make you think here and then there’s Marcus Thompson who’s written books on the Warriors Dynasty I don’t think it’s looking good for him coming back I think he’s going to get a bunch of money thrown at him and then clay has to decide so this situation continues to be very very interesting between the Warriors and Klay Thompson producer chip queue up the YouTube shorts camera and I want to go off here for about 60 seconds what is going to happen between the Golden State Warriors and Klay Thompson this off season it’s really the big question for this basketball team if I had to guess Klay Thompson is going to have a lucrative Market he’s a four-time NBA champion still a really good shooter still defending at a high level and there are teams like Oklahoma City the Orlando Magic the Philadelphia 76ers who have money and a need for clay the Warriors they might want to move on because they’re cash strapped and don’t have as much of a role for Klay Thompson and the money thing is real Klay Thompson has an opportunity for the final time to really cash in so unless the Warrior’s price is a little bit lower I could see clay going to another team like the teams that we mentioned
