Doc Rivers : “Usually you play better at home. The only place I thought it was difficult to play at home was in Philly because of the crowd. I thought it affected our players some.” [51:15]

As he chuckles while trolling us for the Boston Media Mob, Glenn Rivers declares that The City of Brotherly Love is the only place in the sport of basketball is a home field disadvantage. How far will Glenn go to smear this fanbase and his time in the city?

This is strange, Doc normally never blames outside influences for his teams’ failures.

I mean if you watched the Knicks series it’s hard to argue, it was filled with Knicks fans

  3. Okay he’s annoying but it very clearly affected one max player in particular lol

the Philly home crowd was so bad that even Doc’s shakespearean time-out encouragement speeches, like “Come on guys… I mean, come on guys” couldn’t overcome how poorly the fans affected the Sixers

Once again, a media personality just not getting the fucking **easiest** thing to get.

Just play hard, give it your all, take responsibility when you fuck up, and Philly fans will LOVE you. They’ll cherish you. They’ll do a standing ovation while you’re in a slump because they get it.

I’ve commented before that Philly might actually be one of the easiest places to play… as long as you follow those 3 steps. Harper figured it out in like 2 fucking weeks. TJ McConnell figured it out during the process. BDawk figured it out in his first season and carried the torch for over a decade.

Play hard. Give it your all. Take responsibility. Philly will love you. When you hear some current or former player or coach bitching about Philly, you can bet your fucking mortgage that the city was hard on them because they didn’t fucking get it. Losers.

Weird cause we had the best home record just before he got here

Yeah he’s telling the truth on this.

Our fans just need to suck it up and cheer even if it requires extreme cognitive dissonance. Doing otherwise hurts the team.

This goes for players like Simmons obviously, but it’s clear that role players like Melton and even at times Maxey looked scared during home games where the crowd was uneasy.

What a coincidence. The head coach is usually not a disadvantage either, but Doc was.

    No wonder we couldn’t win.

Anything he can do to pass blame from himself. What a POS.
