Derek Rose then it’s D and it’s Bogan in at the shooting guard and given how much these teams run Clark the bench play could be big absolutely Kevin I mean with how much these teams like to get up and down and push it I think it’s going to be one of those windshield wiper games so a bunch of guys could get some action tonight now here’s rose right here’s a classic NBA question who’s been the best franchise in league history Celtics or the Lakers come on Kevin you are putting me on the spot I go with the Lakers more Superstars over the years and I think that 2000s run with Kobe and company that put them ahead in my estimation he’s off on the first you know what we’ve recently been able to watch a different row here I mean a better more efficient more confident player man I love seeing that and he sinks the second Andel Bryant will bring it up for the Lakers the pass to Fisher Baseline try the shot by coob no good well they’ll be happy with that look even though it didn’t fall you know what that’s a confidence Shaker for him though I mean that’s a shot he expects to make every [Applause] time that’s good and the assist goes to fiser fiser doing his job which is basically as the Gasol Second Chance shot and Boozer gets it to go yeah you want to see Boozer hit the boards utilizing that big strong body there on the offensive glass fer the pass to gassa first quarter of play with about a minute and a half gone here’s BM whistle blows basket is good so a chance here for a three-point play first person outstanding job there of taking the harm and still able to finish yeah he imposed his will on the defense that time he was not going to be denied right there free throw good B here’s Rose so first quarter just over a minute and a half in one up one down two points with his first shot this game you didn’t think Rose would back down from some contact now did you guys playing with a high level of intensity tipped away tips it boy anytime you’re a guard like rose and you can hit the boards like that coaches love it and the Lakers have possession trailing by two Rose against Fischer outside Kobe and just under 2 and 1/2 minutes elapsed here in the first does not it’s table tennis back and forth we go Kobe gets the bucket one of the most dangerous scores in the game Bryan is taking no prisoners on the offensive end here’s Rose and oh boy lot of contact there but he gets the call and will shoot two they get P Gasol these are his third and fourth free throw T of the game at the line for Chicago Derek Rose Two Shots the first one Falls and Rose drops them [Applause] both for Los Angeles they’ve gone seven and N from the field a really nice start offensively for them it’s Bryant high post he’s got 12 Chicago [Applause] leading now Bogan Boer with it right side D and T is going to pick up the foul that’s his first foul and now only one away from being in the penalty yep the next one puts him on the line so they’ve got to be careful the rest of the way fiser against Rose Boozer kicks to Dan lock at six that’s tipped it’s hauled in by our test outside Gasol here’s fiser last two our test Gasol against Bo find him trying to break loose he muscles it in through the contact and they call the foul he’s on his way to the free throw line the Lakers have made their only other free throw attempt today an earlier trip to the line shooting one a shot and the free throw is good now leading by one in over the years Gasol has proven himself to be a valuable teammate someone guys love to be around a guy that plays well with just about anybody now here’s Dan he’s still scoreless so far in this one Bogan vicies to dang [Applause] almost but it rolls out for Los Angeles they’ve gone eight of 11 in the first quarter they’ll take that percentage any night Kobe with it he’s picked up by Dan G that’s good and it’s Bryant with the assist and now a three-point Laker lead giving up the ball in the two-man game right there I think Kobe deserves a little more credit for his playmaking ability and the first time out of the game here right now gets free t-shirts substition on the [Applause] cour here is [Applause] Brewer the rebound by Bryant and that is a textbook example of how to defend your real and you know guys I love this fight and grit on the interior I mean he never lets a shot go uncontested first personal foul third foul let’s take a moment here to get your guys take on scoring so far for the Lakers the defense has been giving them plenty of mid-range jumpers and they’ve been making them pay for that mistake and something else that’s working for them is ball movement a lot of their points so far have come as a result of smart plays the first free throw is good when you watch Kobe Bryant you see he’s got unlimited potential just the total package as a [Applause] score and Kobe drops him both and that’s another area where he is just a super player excellent at the free throw line looking to end the Run rebound the Lakers and here is Blake and the layup Falls nice play and you can see they’re Gathering momentum and you know they need to stay aggressive here build the lead up while they’ve got the chance don’t waste this opportunity now here’s Dan he’s gotten some minutes but nothing on the board yet Second Chance effort the shot no good Some solid defense from Gasol here’s Blake and he gets it to go and now a ninepoint Laker lead just playing with poise and confidence and they continue to put points on the board Bo I like the way they’re playing a very smart first half quality shots not wasting possessions time called here the Bulls decide to talk it over please give and things not going their way and he lost to just try to talk this over and you know what guys if for nothing else just to slow things down a little bit change it up somewhat well done a round of applause for your Bulls [Applause] K Barnes against Dan the shots good and you know it’s a bonus to have big men who passes like this Gibson solid instincts there odm with it working on Boozer he gets it in there and the Lakers lead by nine great job of screening there nice job to take it to the rim and get the Finish knocks it with puns blazing now here’s Rose he’s got 13 turn around Jay Gibson tips it back in and exceptional offensive rebound the Gibson seems to have an uncanny ability to get to the right position on the glass and the Lakers decide to take their first timeout here and the bulls with some changes corver comes in for L alang and it’s Watson in for Rose and the Lakers also making a switch Brown he’s checked in for Bryant Blake with it he’s covered by Watson rightside Gasol here’s Blake the rebound by Gibson blls Trail by 11 outside corver there’s the triple that’s good the assist goes to Watson yeah you got to chase corber off that three-point line when he’s in that comfort zone expect him to knock it down brown with the bounce pass pass to [Applause] Gasol the kick out to [Applause] Brown passes it to Barnes down to five on the shot clock stolen by Boozer here’s Brewer he’s been patient so far nothing on the scoreboard yet Gibson passes to Watson shot clock at six the pass to Gibson over to saw no good from Gibson Lakers leading by eight got a piece of it it’s stolen by corver as to Watson and he could not get that one to go lot of contact and he’ll go to the line for two you know at this stage in his career Watson remains a very valuable role player he’s somebody you can trust given his vast experience in the lead shoting their Fifth and six free throws of the game and last season when they got themselves the line they usually came through as a team up around 81% yeah they had the kind of success from the line that would make any coach breathe a sigh of relief guys halfway through the first half in this one and taking a look at Los Angeles’s performance here what have they been doing or not doing impressive start they came in with a well-conceived game plan and have executed yeah you know what makes it really easy for the coaching staff in that case no adjustments needed just keep on keeping on L just a few years ago we saw a lot of teams toying with small ball lineups but I think you’d agree unquestionably big men are back you know Kevin I would agree because simply when you look at it there are a lot of really high quality big guys that can do it inside and out and so going small is a less frequent Approach at this point and it’s one that poses a lot of challenges in my mind taking a look at the Lakers T is out there with OD then there’s Brown then it’s fer and it’s vam in at the pivot spot Manning the middle [Applause] first one Falls for and when you think of odm a player who does so many things well a truly unique player he just brings a ton to the table [Applause] [Applause] and Odum drops him Bulls trailed by nine now Dan on the wing corner connects from three-point range corver got six and this is what makes corver so effective his ability to take and make shots quickly left side Odum they grabbed their own Miss and that one good OD odms got four points this quarter now that’s how you pick up Second Chance points stay active and be ready as soon as the shot goes up out to the right wing Watson that’s for two he clangs that one off the back and down it falls Hey whenever Watson has room to let it fly he will I mean if you’re a corver shoot the ball outstanding and getting his feet squared up under him and then just rising and letting it go and let’s head over to the Sid line and catch up with David Alder thanks very much it’s going to be on Lamar odm that’s foul number two for him and that kind of stifling effort on defense needs another look those kinds of plays are the ones that get you on the lead and help keep you minutes play here in the second quarter and the ball’s tied up so we’ll have a jump ball ball violation jump ball and here is Los Angeles now outside odm just five to shoot here’s our test gets that one to fall after missing his first two one for three from the field and how about odm facilitating the shooter there not holding the ball or forcing his own shot and here’s Watson pass to corver gets [Applause] deflected to Halt the Run gets the three-pointer to fall corver got nine points now in the quarter you how can you forget about him I mean he’s not going to miss that open of a look Los Angeles calls timeout fans turn your attention to the clock for your Chico Los Angeles making a switch here Ryan checked in give it up one more time for and so it’s the Lakers with it 13 points was their biggest lead in the game here’s fiser nothing yet on the scoreboard for him now here’s Odum that shot misses nice D from [Applause] D over to the left wing now Watson back to D jacks up a three another three for Chicago yeah and you got to learn Dame off that three-point line he’s superb at knocking down the triple thanks to that fast [Applause] release fer the pass to our jet [Applause] Ram dishes to [Applause] odm rebound by the Bulls Watson up top he’s covered by fiser Watson kicks to Bogan Kobe with the steel into the lane and finish off by Bryant lightning quick off the bounce Bryant one of the better athletes to ever play play this game Bulls trailed by seven Watson the fast today over odm that’s good from dang on the assist by Watson Watson’s got three assists now in this one and how about the bounce pass there being used to Perfection here’s fiser he’s been quiet so far still no points in the game Noah with the block here is guarded by Kobe over Bryan and it’s sent back e field goal eight for 11 in a very accurate night time called here the Bulls decide to talk it over and as the coaches go to the clipboard to outline their strategy during the timeout the players getting a chance to rehydrate with some Gatorade that’s key to staying fresh all the way to the final whistle and Kevin it really is and every one of these players knows it they’re all making sure to stay hydrated it’s impossible to play your A game if you’re not getting enough to drink especially towards the end of games when the physical toll of a long contest really starts to add up small teams changing it up here and it’s rose with the ball for the Chicago Bulls seven-point differential now the pass to boo ER over one and good got the that time as it falls and you know he’s going to take that shot every time the defense has to respect him from the mid-range Kobe kicks to Blake pass to Gasol Kobe with it just five on the clock yep great play there set up by Walton for three Kobe’s got that free throw no good I don’t think there’s any player in the league that provides more grit and toughness than Barnes I mean he’s a rugged forward who makes contributions at both ends Taj Gibson’s checked in for [Applause] Noah good on the second free throw Bulls trailed by nine they’ve been struggling here on offense yeah a bit of a drop spell for sure Rose kicks to Brewer pass to booer over Gasol trying to get open is Gibson Boozer no good for Los Angeles they’ve gone eight of 16 from the field in the second quarter and nice efficient 50% here’s Blake and they call the foul so a chance at the line for one more coming up and that’s an example of playing big adapting to the situation and sometimes that’s the best policy when you’re going up against a big guy take it to the 10 right at it get to the rack for Los Angeles they have been good at the free throw line in this one seven of eight one shot free throw good Blake the Bulls of G 7 of 16 shooting just under 50% here in the second quarter passes to [Applause] Brewer pulled the shot a little up but the bounce goes his way Brewers got his first points in this one Blake with it seven points in the game there’s the pass to Bryant Gasol triying to free himself up the kick out to Walton Barnes passes to Blake another shot good and it’s Barnes picking up the assist nine points for Mr moves when you allow good scores to get uncontested shots at the rim no wonder you’re losing you know he should be getting extra attention from the defense not less and finished off by Rose you know this is what Rose does best to me guys a tests got the lead up to 13 now for the Lakers guys they’re looking for a way to score here yeah they’ve had a tough time taking the lid off Rose Bozer trying to get open Rose good rose has got 21 and the lack of effort to fight over the screen there makes that an easy shot well I’m to credit the screen I mean that’s a good strong pick he lays there now here’s BM that one good for two vams got five and this is how you want to come out of the half prolific and efficient boy I like the disposition and attitude since halftime they’re patiently looking for good shots Chicago calls timeout and the Gasol gets it to go and guys what do you think about the hustle stance for the Lakers they have been a wrecking ball defensively coming up with steals being active with their hands and just doing a terrific job of this r r they’ve been pounding any Miss on the glass and casting in on the offensive boards I’ve been impressed with that aspect of their game here’s fiser after the Bulls picking up a Easley 73% clip over the course of last season and I know the free throw shooting is an area they focused on improving coming into this season and he can’t get the first one that’s off as well so he misses both Bulls Trail by 15 now here’s D he’s got eight it’s deflected and he recovers it Hogans passes to Noah and Kobe Bryant gets the whistle that time Kobe Bryant that’s his fourth foul of the contest personal foul second team foul fiser again throws and play stops whistle on what looks to be an illegal screen and not the most common call you’ll see in the NBA but hard to argue that pick wasn’t illegal yeah you know the officials aren’t nearly as lenient as they used to be on that call as a matter of fact I know I got away with a lot of those in my playing days but that was 40 years ago here’s fiser they lead by the biggest margin of the game 15 points find them no good Chicago has gone five of eight from three-point Lane 15 points in a deep ball for them tonight is a very solid floor General I think that’s an underrated part of his game he’s excellent at finding his teammates fiser again throws pass to Bryant and he drops it in from the low post Kobe’s got six here in this quarter such body control from Bryan able to take some hits there on the way up outside down pass to it back to D six on the shot clock count the basket T’s got 12 boy the mid-range jump shot of Dan the game is looking effortless for him and he’s riding that wave of confidence and momentum which has allowed him to completely take over and dominate he’s really seemed to feed off the hostile environment he’s been faced with tonight bang for three and bham pulls it down this game looks like they’ve got it just about wrapped up yeah just got to work that clock and take care of the ball Kobe dishes Dart test Ryan again throws and the call on the shot that sends him to the line the motor of Bryant never stops even inside where he goes right at for Los Angeles Kobe Bryant at the line for [Applause] two gets the first that will push the lead to double digits [Applause] [Applause] and Kobe drops him both clutch clutch free throws there that should ensure they’re going home with the w out to the wing here’s Boozer and foul on the shot so he’ll get a chance at the line they get P Boozer quite the efficient score a banger in the post who also has a very solid and reliable midrange shot Boozer at the line for two so the first one drops and that brings them to within [Applause] 10 Boer hits him both outside Bryant and so the Lakers take the win this was a very strong showing for him Greg not necessarily a runaway win but one feel very good about let’s face it anytime you can go on the RO win in the fashion they did you have to feel good about it really an out
