“My heart was hurting every day.” Xavier Tillman’s father died unexpectedly 3 weeks ago. Before almost every game since then, Tillman has sat at his locker and written notes to him. Now, he just wants to write to him about a championship.

As a Memphian who roots for Boston when they aren’t playing the Grizz, can’t wait to see X get a ring with yall.

X stayed ready and delivered even if it was just 1 game.

Every championship team has moments like these throughout their run.

I saw a video of Tillman at media day today & he’s just so excited & genuinely happy, it’s so nice to see. You get the feeling that he can’t believe he’s being interviewed at the Finals, and he needs to pinch himself. I’m so happy for him giving his recent loss.

Aw man. Yeah, he’s gonna be writing about that championship for sure. Let’s get it.

God bless you X. It never gets easier

My heart goes out to him, and to Lively for losing his mother this season. Win or lose, life and loss are bigger than a Finals storyline.

He is writing that letter tonight! 🧹🧹🧹 lets go boys! Time to hoist 18!

  9. X is the perfect guy to bring off the bench. Always humble and ready for when the opportunity to play comes.

Hugs to X, this has to be such a tough time for him. His father will always be with him.
