Fred Vinson is joining Monty Williams’ Detroit Pistons staff as an assistant coach, sources tell ESPN. Vinson spent the past 14 years in New Orleans where he previously worked under Williams. His expertise with shooting is held in high regard.

I’d honestly consider trading Dyson at this point, no joke. I loved the pick at the time and still like him, but the entire logic with him, and Griff even said it, was that the Pels could take fliers on guys that cant shoot and get Vinson to make up the difference as our secret weapon. Cause without a shot there is no future with him as a starter on a Zion team that needs spacing.

Also it really makes me concerned that Langdon was far more important in building this team and culture than we have given him credit. By this report it doesn’t seem to be some massive pay raise or increased role. And it’s for a losing organization.
I mean I guess Detroit has some guys that fit the Vinson archetype: guards/wings that are just missing that improved jumper from breaking out ala Tyreke, Gordon, Lonzo, BI, but it’s not like the Pels don’t have those guys too
