I’m doing this…

Like Lauri Markkennen I don’t feel like Hunter is in a great position here. A top 5 pick known for Defense before being drafted..
He needs a legit system and a new culture. Let’s face it Atlanta is a mess.

Hunter is 6”8 with a 7”1.25 wingspan Combo forward. He can play the 3 for us and use his size advantage. He shoots 38% or better from three. And doesn’t need the ball to be effective. Averaging 15pts a game. He’s not undersized like Strus and Okoro and both okoro and Levert are due for a contract soon.

Playing next too Mobley and Allen frees him up from normal Big duties. Allowing him to cut and wreak havoc. Or he can take on power forward duties and allow Mobley to be free offensively.

It gives us a back up for Dean Wade. And allows more staggering of the guards and bigs without losing defense.

He’s only 24 and had room to grow.

If we’re keeping the core, I for see the Cavs going after him and maybe Okoro instead of Levert, and also pursuing Royce O’Neal for the MLE.

Yeah, Presti would straight up laugh at this.

idk… I’m a lot more confident in Levert from what hes already done for this team. Hunter is a bit of a coin flip.

Obviously a win for us… but OKC gets robbed. It’d have to be put together with a different team or pieces.

This trade robs the second unit of its primary scorer….I don’t like it but it will be interesting to see how the new staff sets the rotation. You can’t run Mitchell into the ground during the regular season and expect him to survive/thrive in the playoff grind.

This isn’t a deal OKC would even consider.
