JK and Brown are eerily similar… check out their first three seasons. They even have the same height/wingspan.

Unfortunately, JB’s shooting mechanics are fluid and created a great understanding that he’ll get better in the future. JK’s shooting mechanics are robotic/stiff, you can tell he will not become great shooting from distance in the future unless he changes up his motion.

Wait Kuminga and Brown are the same height? I would have thought Kuminga has like 3′ on Brown

Really hope JK can reliably play SF on offense, that’d open up a lot of options. Also gonna need him to take a step up defensively, left a lot to be desired on that end. Dude could be a two-way menace

  4. HundredsOfSnow

I remember he was compared to Brown on draft night

  5. But intensity and defense…..JK still got to keep working on it, as well as variety of offense. Just don’t let it all get into his head….just don’t become like Jordan poole

Difference is one can’t drive left, the other can still grow to be a menace.

Jaylen Brown had better catch & shoot numbers and flashed higher 3 level scoring ability even as a rookie

Kuminga can create layups reliably, that’s his only true skill currently. Skill level gap is wide, even if numbers look comparable.

We see when Kuminga faced good defenses….none of the middy stuff would drop, he’s left wide open from 3, cannot force a defense to move out of their shell. It’s just a LOT to improve on.

The 3P% difference is significant and their forms are different

Sure. But JB is one of the best consistent improvers in the league. He gets substantially better every season. That’s unique, that’s not the norm for nba players. He and Kawhi are some of the best developmental success stories of the past decade. Unreasonable to put that level of growth on JK imo.

We get another scorer and keep kuminga and ofcourse cluth player of the year Steph. We can get out of west and i like our chances.

Let’s hope Kerr can unlock him next session

Least delusional Warriors fan, comparing Kuminga to a Finals MVP favorite. Completely different playstyles, not even close. Not to mention, there is also another side of basketball called defense..

  13. Great comparison here. Everyone writes off young players in the NBA way too early. People said “Haliburton has reached his ceiling” after 2 seasons. Now this doesn’t mean that he WILL be Jaylen Brown. He COULD be. He could also flame out. There’s a certain young warrior who was paid a fat contract and was shipped across the country. Only time will tell. I believe in the guy

  14. Some of you simply don’t understand basketball.

Yet by Jaylen Brown’s 2nd year he already massively made the Celtics better whenever he was on the court whereas in JK’s second season he was less conductive to winning than Splash Rapey. Small, but important distinction. All a non-advanced stat comparison shows is that Kuminga is an empty stats guy.

Stop comparing JK to an outlier. Shawn Marion is a better comp and JK can still be valuable if he isn’t on JB’s caliber.

  17. JK is more athletic, but JB is a smarter player and way more refined.

  18. Zealousideal-Fix-203

Now that Klay is a narrow role player, JK is the only guy who can dominate alongside Curry.

  19. HenryAsokan

Indeed; I belive jonothan however is an inch taller; and jumps higher; whilst brown is a better overall player and higher iq

  20. No-Mulberry-908

Why do I feel like JK is much worse 3pt shooter than the number 34.1% suggests
