I feel like Garland probably needs to go for our team to flourish, but I’m less sold on Allen going. We’re banking on Mobley becoming a player that he hasn’t consistently proven he can be. Yes, he is one of the best interior defenders in the league, but that’s about it outside of streakiness right now unless he develops further. Nothing wrong with that, even at his draft position, considering how good he is. But yeah, not sure we can build around him unless he makes strides.

I don’t see why any of them need to go. But I’m at the point where the team needs to give Mitchell significant say in the roster and who stays. Not LeBron GM level of control, but he needs to be extended and this is the way.

That’s the problem isn’t it? He really only plays well with Allen while not playing well with Mobley even though Mobley is the more talented/more important player.
Mitchell+Mobley w/o DG and JA: Evan has a pretty pedestrian 59 TS% in these minutes considering he isn’t asked to do a whole lot of individual creating. Even worse, and something I didn’t expect, DM’s efficiency is at 57 TS% which is a steep drop off from his season efficiency.
Garland+Mobley w/o DM and JA: Garland, who didn’t play like himself this year obviously, had a pretty good 58 TS% and more importantly EM had an elite 67 ts% in these minutes. Mobley has always played significantly better with DG but I thought that would change this year with Garland struggling but it still hasn’t.

I’d much rather start to make Mobley a 4 than a 5. JB committed too much to developing Mobley’s post game than his shooting game when Mobley does look comfortable when he shoots the ball. Just need to commit to that rather than make him one-dimensional
