If we’re looking for a deal involving a 2025 FRP, then I get it being a day after. But if not then that’s real confusing.
Some teams to note as potential Bruce Brown destinations:
-Wanting him for Bruce: Lakers, Knicks*, 76ers, Bucks***, Warriors
-Salary dump: Jazz, Hawks, Bulls, Pelicans**, Kings
*Knicks are really dependent on if they think Bojan is washed/if the Raptors think they can turn some draft capital into a 2025 1st
**Calling CJ a salary dump is…maybe a bit harsh? But he’s making a not insignificant chunk of change for a guard who simply cannot lead a team’s offense and he’s demonstrably a poor fit with Zion and Ingram
***Really depends on if they want to shake up the core and would likely need to be a 3 team deal since a 1:1 with Milwaukee doesn’t make a ton of sense
Can’t they take the option before the draft?
And just a reminder that teams and players renegotiate option dates frequently, so if there’s a trade in the works that’s taking a couple extra days to complete and Brown is on board with it, they cities push the option date out to June 30. (Gotta be done before July 1st though.)
Bruce will do everything Thibs asks him to do.
