I know there’s a 99% chance this is just offseason bullshit but is there anyone who follows college hoops that has any thoughts on this? I’ve heard this is a weak draft class but this did pique my interest as someone with not a lot of knowledge of college ball.

Doesn’t seem like a reliable source and it definitely isn’t like pat to try and move up in the draft, especially not in what’s seen as one of the weaker drafts in recent memory. We’ve had too much success drafting in the middle of the pack to assume they are desperate to move up.

only player I would’ve considered trading up for this high would’ve been topic but hes going to drop now anyways
Amick = Yes
Amico = No
The only team I can see the Heat trading up with into the top 5 is Houston if they believe Jimmy can accelerate they’re rebuild. There are some guys at #3 I’d like on this team but I doubt that happens
Riley wouldn’t complete a trade for an established star, he would be willing to give up similar value for an unproven player?
Doubtful.
– Pistons – Herro + 15 for 5
– Rockets – Jimmy for 3 + salary matching
Those are the only teams drafting top-5 that would want to make a win now move + also value our vets. Well Hawks maybe but it would be too complicated and number one picks don’t just get traded off for 35 year olds
Amico doesn’t know shit but that take is 100% based in the idea the Heat might trade away Butler and 0% on the idea there’s a player they really want in the top 5.
0% chance
Reminder that
Amico no
Amick yes
If it was very cheap to move up and they really liked someone I guess?
If anything, this seems to be putting out rumors to boost value for whoever wants to trade down. The news story mentions the Grizzlies in the same tweet as wanting to move down
it is a smoke screen, the heat wouldn’t do that in this draft and if they were thinking about it, no one would know. Someone is trying to push the narrative in hopes of seeing if there is interest.
Don’t hold your breath

This is the dumbest shit ever, no one wants to trade into the top 5. If anything the teams in the top three want to trade out, but they can’t get back anything of value to make it worthy their while since the difference between the 3rd pick and the 10th pick is minimal
Hopefully not that 5th pick, gonna be no more special then a pick at 10-15. We should do it in a much better draft if we do.
