a bus insane I’ve been insane at an NBA finals glimps of mbappe where people getting on the team bus is like crowds everywhere that’s so not easy oh now we’re oh okay I see what they’re doing now okay I see what’s happening now so we started early a couple times and now we’re going to start late I see how they’re doing us oh no good morning gang they’re fighting back at our plan stealing seconds watched Undisputed on Fox Fox Sports One FS1 oh it was new for me and I went into it because I’m we have we have Euro 2024 on yep and I knew that that the one game started at at 9 between Belgium and Slovakia and I wanted to watch that so I had it on FS1 I just put it on while I was prepping and and I looked up I’m like you know what I’ve never watched Undisputed that’s the show it’s skip bis keesan Johnson and today also had Paul Pierce on it and I went oh Paul Pierce talking Celtics this might be kind of interesting I will tune into Undisputed for the first time time I’ve never watched a show before I’m not a debate show guy MH it’s just not I I I understand it’s it’s place in the in the current Sports society and I understand that a lot of people watch it and that they’ve gotten very popular but I just I always assumed that it was a bad show I never watched it I just kind of assumed it but as with most things if I’m going to think a thing is bad I’m going to want to make sure that I that I absorb it first and then decide whether it’s bad or not so I know thought it’s stunk probably but Pro not as bad as I’m thinking like I’m overblowing it I turned it on today like turn the volume up yikes debate show television not for me it turns out oh no it’s not for me either Kyle I can’t handle it I dude I they they spent like nine minutes talking about who the NBA Finals MVP should be and just turned into them saying the same things over and over and then at some point Luca got brought up and you got kesan Johnson former NFL wide receiver yelling about how oh so we’re voting for half a player now he had 18 turnovers like wait what is that are you making a defense point or a turnovers Point as a wide receiver who only plays one side like I don’t dude you know I’m just saying it just I I was is floored by how a the like the topics are the topics right they were talking finals it’s all they did the entire time okay that’s fine you’re you’re on a national TV channel you need to get to the largest audience possible so they’re not going to break down the Sacramento Kings draft like we will later today they’re trying to appeal to a national audience and I get that and and the producers did a fine job of of generating questions and topics the the problem was is it was really clear that nobody on the panel was very interested in what they were talking about and so at one point there was probably a 45 second stretch where it was just dudes reading stats to each other oh no it was and not not with a point of it was just like that was the argument is well eight rebounds is better than six rebounds and seven assists better than five assists so but it could be either guy like what I I’m that’s tough Kyle it wasn’t it just it was it was as bad as I thought it might be and Skip bis lost his fast ball I I’ll say it it’s okay so I don’t like that style I’m not a hot take guy right it’s not the type but I also appreciate that like in in the what is it eight months we’ve been doing the show we’ve never had a moment where we sat down and said okay I’m G to take this point you’re going to take the counter point and we’re going to sit here and argue and go back and forth I’ve I did that once it was actually recent because I couldn’t I was kind of on the fence and I was like you say what you think and I’ll just play Devil’s Advocate and do the other side of it okay but it’s never a concerted effort no it’s not like I mean we do uh what is it every single day we do uh the bad ideas right uh good idea bad idea yep but we don’t set up a segment where we’re just going at it you know where we’re just like arguing some weird point be that would be a fun bit we could come up with different uh aliases oh like Carl mon staff is an old inside joke with a with a buddy of mine I used to do radio with and I could just be Carl Monsta the hot take guy I have when you coach soccer right and as one does and you’re playing you have uh you have player cards right that you have to hand to the official when you’re playing CM soccer you have player cards and so basically what you do is you laminate their player card you three hole well you punch it with a and you you basically put them on a key ring and then you hand them over to uh to the official and he sits there and he calls out a name the player comes over he checks his cleats make sure he doesn’t have earrings on and all that stuff oh so comp soccer by the way is competitive soccer to House Soccer which is like your local League competitive soccer is more travel based sorry go on so anyway we had an official I think we were playing in Woodland and we had an official who I don’t know that I’ve seen someone with thicker glasses ever so he’s looking at these official little tiny player cards and he’s holding them way back oh no and so he’s going through and butchering every single name finally he gets he gets to he gets to a name and he’s like Carl Thompson we’re looking around there’s no Carl Thompson on our team and my my son’s buddy Kade he goes you mean Kade Torgerson he’s like good enough for me come on over so Cade shout out to Kade he’s back from college this weekend um we still we still call him Carl Thompson all the time you have to yeah so it’s it’s a bit it’s his name that’s a yeah that has to that has to stick that’s funny he just saw a c and a t and it’s like ah what’s a Carl name or what’s a c name Carl Carl what’s a t name Thompson Carl uh we do have some news oh we have some breaking news oh the California classic we were wondering who the kings were going to add right because the Kings it was only Sacramento the San Antonio Spurs and the Charlotte Hornets playing in Sacramento they have added team China the Chinese national team will be the fourth team in Sacramento and play as part of the California classic dope so it’s not just like a oneoff game they’ll play each oh that’s fun they’re playing all cool thing all three games oh your dimness just oh brightness just dimmed there we go there we go people the good people super Hightech on the on the stream right now um yeah so really really interesting of course the uh the California classic is I believe it’s 67 and N this year the 6th the 7th and the 9th of July so it’s it’s later than normally than it normally is it’s usually I think the second the third and the fifth uh but for some reason they moved to I think summer league got moved back a week as well a few days does it have to do with the Olympics maybe but I just assume anything has any anything is is just Olympic based at this point for me well I think this is like I assume China is in the Olympics so this might be like their buildup little tuneup yeah oh interesting I don’t know it seems so there’s going to be a cal classic here the Warriors are not in that are they doing their own they’re doing their own and then I think the final day the Kings and warriors will play each other or or maybe the yeah yeah I think on the 10th there’s one more game where they’re kind of tying them together huh so the Lakers the Heat and the Warriors are goingon to play down at Chase so just three teams they well they have to add a fourth team as well so I’m wondering who that fourth team is yeah I’m intrigued hey why not no that’s really that’s such a cool thing because a you’ll get to see a a national team which is just on a by itself a cool thing yep uh but B it’s a national team that like you said is probably gearing up to play like in the Olympics yeah if they’re if they’re not if that is their their their team that is that is participating I’m not totally sure if China is in the Olympics um yeah we’re finding all this out on the F so haven’t gotten do a deep dive yet on the on the Chinese National men’s basketball team but no it’s uh that’s just a cool thing it’s not it’s not the the Brooklyn Nets summer league Squad with a bunch of dudes you’ve never heard of and maybe a draft pick or two yeah and you know I know someone in the chat here um just like why didn’t Jordi Fernandez oh Brian kette there we go couldn’t uh Jordi Fernandez bring the Canadian team here you don’t want any of that smoke that’s that’s not it’s League’s about bro it’s not about losing by 60 the Canadian national team would smoke every team in any summer league set yes I mean not only that but I don’t think you want the Canadian national team going up against some of the players um because you know like the California classic is is summer league but it’s not the the Las Vegas summer league and even then you have players that that aren’t going to be NBA players that you know are they’re they’re giving them a test run here to see how they look uh but yeah it it should be interesting yeah looks like they have qualified for the 2024 Olympics all right it looks like I’m not totally sure uh oh no they have not their men’s team did not qualify that is their women’s team and then they have a men’s three on three team and a women’s three on three team but their men’s five on five team did not qualify okay according to what I’m looking at here well that’s intriguing either way I’m okay because like look during during training camp uh like during preseason you can bring in like M uh what is it makabi hia sure like like some of the Israeli National teams um that’s fine like this this should be good I I I like it so I am going to at this at this first break I’m going to find out everything there is to know about the men’s qualification okay the men’s five on five qualification to find out maybe if they win the California classic they get into the Olympics qualifying fny if you win this tournament that’s not really a tournament just everybody kind of plays everybody yeah it’s just kind of fun that would be great if that’s if that if that was what it was I’d be in there with bells on every day like I’ll already be there but I would be I would be like locked in I’d want to know every single thing it was going on but that’ll be cool the Chinese men’s national basketball team will be playing at the California classic along with the Kings the Hornets and the Spurs Spurs yeah you I highly recommend it it is a an incredible event it’s great summer basketball the the doors are open it’s beautiful inside it’s kind of like a a loose like you go in you can watch some stuff you can go wander around very spring training Vibe yeah it’s a good vibe I I think it’s really I highly highly recommend it yeah definitely definitely get out to Golden One if you can great way to spend a summer day it’s basketball it’s low stakes but it’s dudes trying and competing because you got dudes fighting for roster spots so that’s right um definitely go check that out and of course we will be breaking down anything and everything there is to know about um the California class CL as it draws closer NBA Finals game five is tonight we will discuss that next can the Mavs for a game six I kind to roll over I thought Luca would come out and be a shell because he would continue to try and prove that the refs aren’t giving him calls uh I thought they might get a little bit of a friendly whistle because you know the NBA wanting this thing to go more than than the four game games and then the Celtics came out flat and the Mavs punched them repeatedly in the mouth again and again and again and never let the Celtics get up off the mat they the way they did in game three and I can’t decide if I’m more impressed by how Dallas Came Out Swinging or if I’m more appalled by how the Celtics came out and just kind of me with a chance to win the title I think when you’re looking at a game four you lose one game you get to go home and maybe win the title on your home on your home court I don’t think you want to Temp fate if the game is there for the taking you go for it but sometimes when you do get punched repeatedly and you don’t know how to recover it it is best to just go okay you know what let’s not let’s not throw our best pitch here let’s let’s waste waste this one let’s come back and fight another day let make sure everyone’s healthy let’s give again let’s give Chris STS porzingis an opportunity to heal up a little bit more I don’t think he’s playing yeah I think he’s done I think he is too I think that this is gamesmanship I was shocked by the way they went about making his workout a whole thing and then they announced on Twitter the team did that Chris staps porzingis is available and Celtics fans all freak out and oh my God he’s back and look at wow what a what he’s basically Willis Reed that’s it he is and he just didn’t play zero minutes I don’t think that was a f a product of of the score I just don’t I don’t think he’s going to play maybe I mean it could have been a product of the score words like okay they just got way up so early that it was like all right like this thing is over if we can make a run if we can make a run to end the first the first half we can make a run to start the third quarter maybe you you pull him off the bench but I I think you’re right Kyle I think there’s a higher likelihood I am excited that nus kada got to play yeah good for him yeah getting some getting some finals Burn yeah man so I was more impressed by Dallas than I was disappointed with the Celtics because at some point human nature comes in right at some point it’s everything that you just laid out you might know okay yeah chance to Hoist the Larry O’Brien is is on the line tonight but you also also look at it and you go you go oh oh my God sorry we’ve got there’s soccer on and that was insane insane Belgium and Slovakia is playing right now um no but it’s it’s everything that that you just said and you go hey we have a chance to Hoist the the Larry O’Brien tonight but also we have three more chances after this and if it gets to a game seven it’s at home and we’re the better team like we just have to be on for one of these next four it’s fine whatever and you go out and and you you got you got smoked but I do think at the same time if Dallas hadn’t come out with the force that they did and if Luca had continued to argue with officials and not play defense and do all that I think it would have been a a real a real problem where hey even though the Celtics aren’t throwing their best pitch tonight yeah they could still go win this but you had a focused Luca donic you had him playing defense if we were going to drag him the way we did for his defensive effort in game three uh he deserves praise for the way he played in game four because it’s exactly what we were looking for um he wasn’t barking at officials the entire game um just compete I was yeah and it’s like go out and compete we understand you’re not great defensively but compete that’s it and if they had gone out and and and gotten beaten game four would have been like well yep as was expected but they came out and they fought like yeah hey you know what we get this thing to 3-1 we need to get one in Boston to get this thing home for a game six then we can put the pressure on them like the pressure is all on Boston now at this point the Mavs avoided their sweep okay and now the question is can they get that same kind of performance from their best player in Luka donic Kyle is there something that they could do in this game that would convince you that that they’re actually in this series because I still don’t think I mean like if you do the same thing if you just like run them over and this series all of a sudden looks like it’s like it’s just flipped for some reason but I still I still have a tough time I mean this would like again in Celtics like lore this would be the biggest choke job of all time oh in Sp in sports all due respect to Rory maoy yesterday in the US Open yeah but in all of sports man like you you smoke a 3oh lead in the NBA Finals when you were the best team in the in the league all year yep and you were as dominant as you were in the first three games yeah man that would Boston might never recover just a city and Celtics fans they might just have to trade everybody might never ever recover from that no I I don’t if the Mavs steamroll them again tonight if it just goes the way it did in game four and and the Mavs go out and win this one by 30 then I will then I will I will entertain the idea that oh this is this is now an interesting series because the Mavs have unlocked something this the that the Celtics just cannot figure out and this is two games in a row now and oh boy now they got to go back and they got a win in Dallas to close this thing out and then if you don’t now you’re getting to a game seven and that building’s going to be a little bit tight but if they if the Mavs go out and they win tonight and it’s close and you know what they just hit a couple of shots late and the Celtics didn’t then no I’ll I’ll still think it’s Celtics and six but if the Mavs go steamroll them tonight then yeah now I’m interested okay what about you I think I mean it would have to be like an epic like battle for well I they would just have to just crush the Celtics and just show that they aren’t the team that we saw through the first three games that they figured something out magically and now it’s in Joe missoula’s hands to figure out what is that what the the Mavericks are doing that are that’s turn the series yeah I just don’t think it’s possible though like the Celtics from top to bottom are are so good but like look we’ve been wrong a couple of times in in this playoff run and and so many times this during this playoffs I felt like oh we have no idea what’s GNA happen um this one just felt like after after the first three games we knew it was going to happen and then did it didn’t happen but I did kind of get the feelings like okay this Celtics are just saving it up so they can win this thing at home yeah and even if even if there was even if there was something in in game four where the Mavericks exploited something with the Celtics with Chris STS out they unlocked something I trust Boston’s depth and their coaching staff to figure out how to plug that League yeah that’s and that’s that’s kind of the problem for Dallas is man you can you can sit there and you can find a pitch that they can’t hit but eventually I’m going to trust Boston and their personel to to figure it out enough to scratch out one more win like if this was 2-1 if the Celtics have been that dominant through the first two games and then come out and gotten beat down like that in game three I’d be a lot more more open to oh we have a we have this wasn’t a one-off the the Celtics are going to go win the next two and be fine but it’s the way it was the way they won the first three games and there was a big comeback by the Celtics they dominated one game they won they won a tight one late and they helped close it out like they just they they were winning in so many different ways that I just can’t I can’t draw a line right now to oh yeah hey the Mavs will just rep the Mavs will play a perfect game and the Celtics will look abominable again and that exact and that exact mixture of things is just going to happen four times now I just I don’t buy it because I think if if the Mavs play anything less than an A+ game and the Celtics play anything more than a c game it’s it’s night night it’s curtains yeah that’s right and hey look I I think that that’s where this series is is like hanging right now like this there’s one team that is so far superior to the other and you’re just waiting to see them finish finish it off and again I think it is sort of one of those things that it’s nice to do it at home to to get to the even subconscious yeah like game five running your home crowd um celebrating in your own locker room you know the team will drive you home wherever you got to go after the game wherever the part’s gonna be whatever I I think that sometimes especially if you feel it early just let it go that’s fine yeah yeah but this one you can’t no if you’re getting smoked early you cannot because dude then it get this gets dicey don’t we talk about it all week long building up to Wednesday this gets dicey Thursday and then that little seed of Doubt gets planted now you’re the Celtics who couldn’t close out of series again and wild yo what’s up uh ham and Kyle what’s going on guys hey I had a quick question um over the weekend Kyle Kyrie Irving was talking about how he didn’t really embrace the Boston Celtics uh culture when he was there my question is what culture has he embraced because he didn’t do that on the Nets or uh the Celtics obviously even you can go back to Duke he didn’t really play much there the only time he was really part of any culture is won the Cavs and they didn’t do anything before LeBron got there so that was my question interesting thanks Lizzie appreciate you um yeah man I think with with Kyrie with the with the Celtics thing I don’t know enough about because Kyrie said he would tell anybody he basically told people if they were going to go play for the Celtics to do their own research before going there and I don’t know 100% % what that means but if they’re like hey here’s our way of doing things this is the way that we have found is going to be successful you’ve got to do a b and c and you’re just not amable to that then yeah it’s probably not going to work out great okay so here’s my thing I don’t know that he’s proven to be all that reliable outside of the game of basketball like throughout his career there has been enough questions about whether the Earth is flat you know like some of the decisions he’s made whether it’s the videos he’s put out there or or or or promoted or uh his decision to basically sit out most of a season like he’s not the authority I’m going to if I’m going to ask about the Boston culture yeah it you know like we can talk about the Red Sox for a whole bunch of time about Boston’s like long history the Boston Red Sox of their long history of like racial decisions as a franchise yes gross yeah it’s just horrible but I don’t think I’ve ever really felt that way the Celtics Maybe Maybe I’m Wrong maybe there was a time maybe is that what he was is that what he was referring to it just feels like he’s saying that there’s something wrong with the cult here there and I don’t know if he means the fans or if he means oh I took it as he meant the team well that’s what I that’s the way the team operates is not a way that was friendly to players okay that’s possible Right but I’d also just to get back to the point it’s he’s an unreliable character in in the NBA world like if I want to know about that team and I’m a free agent or whatever I’m gonna call Jason Tatum I’m gonna call Jaylen Brown sure I’m gonna call Al Horford and I’m Gonna Get You know like an honest discussion from those guys I’m not going to go call sort of like the spilled milk guy because he is he’s like he’s he’s a superstar who’s on his fifth team well right right and Ley just brought up what culture has he embraced in Cleveland as soon as they started winning as soon as that that LeBron Centric culture arrived he was out that I want to go to my own team yep so he goes to the to the Celtics and didn’t like it for whatever reason and then he goes to Brooklyn and oh that’s not his bag either so now he’s going to go to Dallas and apparently he’s figured it out in Dallas but he’s figured it out in Dallas I think because the culture is like hey we need to follow Kyrie we like what Kyrie does and so that’s why he’s embraced that and embrace being you know second fiddle to Luca but in the scope of but in the scope of that team it’s like yeah but everybody knows that this is that Kyrie is like the leader Kyrie is the veteran voice in the room yeah and that’s why I think you see him getting along so well in Dallas is because like oh no it’s the Kyrie show I guess I I would hope that maybe like he’s found some sort of peace with where he is and all that stuff yeah you hope so but I also like I don’t know that like being like walking into Boston he’s already hearing it like non-stop right like every single game they’ve got their chance and everything else going at him and he’s proven to like struggle like very very much so in the finals when they go to Boston so I just don’t know again like there are a lot of people like if you want to know about like Sacramento there are so many people that you could call and say what is Sacramento like for players right and some of them will give you a good answer some of them won’t but I don’t think like of all the people I’m G to call I’m gonna call Buddy hee or Marvin Bagley I’m like you can call those guys for sure yeah but I I would rather call Harris Barnes or I don’t know dear fox or pick a former player yeah pick like you know guys that have played their like huge portion of their career in Sacramento and say hey what do you think yeah um so anyway that’s just kind of my feeling on it like I I don’t know again like he’s proven time and time again to just be an unreliable yeah person yeah I don’t I I didn’t yeah I didn’t take that to mean anything more than just if you’re going to go play basketball there the team and the environment I like people would say that about the Patriots too there were people who who loved playing for Bill bich and the Patriots because they had their way of doing things and it’s going to be very rigid and it’s this and that but then you had other guys who are like no I love playing there oh yeah there there are people that that don’t want to talk about their time playing for the for Greg papovich and the San Antonio Spurs like I’ve run into multiple players they’re like yeah I’ll pass yeah it’s like okay and I think it falls under if you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say anything at all sure because you don’t want to be the guy who says something negative about the winning as coach in the history papovich in the media yeah and you’ll be like okay like you don’t want to get in that in that battle so I get it uh but I always was taken aback by that because it’d be like oh man I I would think that you would have cherished your time there and not everyone does yeah so I get it for sure um mock draft in the athletic okay and we had one a new one from The Ring both came out today and again we’re we’re talking NBA draft because it’s a little bit our responsibility just in case if the Kings do use their pick but you’re under the impression that they’re not going to you’re under the impression that that pick is going do more likely than not get dealt okay look I I’m not gonna say that because every time I think that they’re gonna trade their pick no it’s okay it’s okay like I’ll explain every time I think they’re going to trade their pick they don’t right so like when they drafted Davon Mitchell like that pick was up for grabs like everyone in the NBA knew that number nine pick was up for grabs and then they used it to draft Davon right and like the Keegan Murray draft like I I think more like for me it was like you probably if you’re going to draft Keegan Murray that’s fine you should probably trade down to five and if you can’t get anything out of Detroit which I guess is what happened then sure you got to take him at that’s that’s a okay right but um when it comes to like this group I did not think that they were going to draft last year mhm and they traded the pick so maybe there is something here to the trend but the conversations that I’ve had is very specific they are going to be open to everything and and people can go okay well what does that mean there are so many things you can do with a draft pick right you can draft a player for another team you can draft a player for yourself but that’s not it you can trade back the draft you can trade up in the draft but you can trade back in the draft in order to get another a 2025 or 2026 pick that then would free you up to trade other things like as long as you have a first round pick you can you you don’t fall under the steppan rule so there are ways that the Kings could help themselves like not just this season but multiple Seasons um I don’t think we’re going to see a like a cash dump which we’ve seen in the past because there’s no reason for that so I don’t see them Packaging like Harrison Barnes and the number 13 pick just to bail but I think that they’re looking at this crazy no I think it would be too I think they’re looking at like like pretty wide open like look if if there’s a trade that we could package a couple of veterans and the number 13 pick to to get Kyle kusma maybe that’s something that that that’s one option if there’s a way for you to package the your 2024 the number 13 pick with a 2027 and 2029 and some other player package to go get Brandon Ingram okay maybe that’s on the table like you have to look at like there’s all kinds of things that could be on the table I just don’t think that drafting a player is at number 13 is going to help them today right and that’s and that’s where I think the difference is you mentioned the Davon pick and how in the 21 draft you thought they’d trade the number nine but they end up taking DAV on that was that that was such a different point in the timeline that was in 20 in the 2020 2021 season they won 31 games and it was still very early in the what the heck is this team process and then davon’s rookie year they go 30 and 52 um and that previous season they were last in the league in defense like they needed they needed help there and so it made it made sense like yeah hey you’re going to bring in a young guy you think he can help you defensively that’s like a building block for the for this team and and if there’s a if there’s a draft pick at 13 that Monty McNair is like hell yeah that guy’s going to play 20 minutes a night for us right now M and to help us in ab and C ways dang what a player then sure they they’ll use it but I think that they’re less liable to do that this year because of that urgency like we talk about it all the time fans talk about it all the time chatty house is is talking about it all the time you get on Twitter like they the The Vibes of yeah hey just being in cont in playoff contentions cool like no man people people want more I think the team wants more you wrote about it like nobody in that building was happy with how the season went last year no I I I think people’s jobs are eventually on the line right like you’ve got to win like and that’s the key difference between this year and the Davon Mitchell draft for example it’s like yo this year they got to do something yep more than just yeah let’s bring in a rookie and see how he fits we’re building this thing up like no man if you’re bringing in a rookie you know how he fits and he’s going to be in the rotation day one well that and the problem is Kyle that your team is now like between 24 and 28 yes you know two years ago this team was between 22 and 25 it just keeps getting older and that you would think oh well you want to get younger go get younger players to get Young no like you have a track that you’re now on and I I keep bringing this up but I always think about the time when the Kings had Marco banelli who is a top eight of the rotation shooter right and they were able to trade that guy to the Charlotte Hornets for the number 22 pick in the draft right so they were able to go out and and get a a the number 22 pick the number 13 pick is worth way more than that pick so what can you get with that like in in any draft the number 13th pick should be able to get you a either a starter or a number six man like right there right a a quality contrib yeah we’re talking a 4 five6 guy in your rotation is what you should be able to get for the 13th pick because typically what you’re doing is you’re dealing with a a team who is trying to start over and they might have some quality veterans on their team but those quality veterans aren’t going to help with what they’re doing today so they’re going to trade those guys to go add another pick right go add another asset sure so that’s where the kings are kind of at they’re in the reverse of what they did with Marco bellelli but I also I think that they’ve got to be open to just about everything and if that means that that you can’t find anything that works and you get to that number 13 you draft the best player available and so we can look at all these draft boards these mock drafts and say who is it that’s going to be around that range you know like again what do we got Rob Dillingham right that was in the athletic is in the athletic as the guy like he makes some sense like it it’s especially if you were to lose Malik monk even even if you well I don’t think if you were to keep Malik monk he doesn’t make any sense because I totally agree like Dillingham is is a quality player but he’s not very big what he six to a buck 64 yeah exactly yeah and not only that but he’s known for his offense he’s not known as a defensive player um and one of the other problems he’s six uh he measured in at 61 with without shoes mhm and he’s got a 63 wingspan he’s not even a big wings span guyy yeah n yeah so if if I’m going to draft a six foot one guy right there I want a 66 six7 wingspan right so maybe his defensive potential is higher yeah and and I’m not saying he’s a horrible Defender I don’t know what he’s going to look like at the NBA level he’s an electric scorer he’s a an electric playmaker he reminds me a lot of his production reminds me of Malik monk his game reminds me more of Tyrese Maxi at the college level not at the pro level nobody again like people might want to tell you that they thought Tyrese Maxi was going to be this good Maxi went what number 19 in the draft or whatever yeah his Ascension even just the last year year and a half has been insane spectacular spectacular what he’s been able to do uh is really really impressive but you know again I think when you’re looking at specific types of players that the Kings need I don’t know that ad adding a 6′ one guard to a 6′ three and a and then another six six’ one guard and Davon Keon L 64 and a half well 63 and a half without shoes yeah like it’s not a very big back court dude and it’s we talk we’ve been going we’ve been going size athleticism that’s what this team needs and then it’s like hey how about this 6’2 164 pound guard who doesn’t play a lot of defense like man what and like said if Malik monk leaves and the kings are sitting there with Rob Dillingham and again this is from in a mock draft from the athletic they have Dillingham falling to the Kings and and Sacramento selecting him they also put the caveat in there that they’re more likely to deal the pick yeah that that’s in there as well but I don’t I don’t like it at all unless if if monk leaves and money mcir in the front office and Mike Brown Look At Rob Dillingham and they’re like yo he can do Malik stuff you’re one okay might be a little Rocky out of the gate but come playoff time come come March April we really think that he could be at least Malik monk light in year one then fine go for it yep but man I just if monk stays and Rob Dillingham Falls to 13 I think the benefit there for the Kings is there are a lot of teams who would probably love to have Rob Dillingham oh I totally agree and not not contenders looking to win the finals this year but teams that are looking to younger the the Spurs might love to have a player like that next to Victor wanyama for example just throwing one out yeah um if if the if the Hawks end up trading Trey young you throw Rob Dillingham in there and see how he I mean there’s just there’s so many I think there are a lot of instances where he’d be super valuable to a team and more valuable than what what he he’d give to the Kings well that and like here I’ll kind of like there’s a couple layers to what I’m going to say here um first of all uh at at Kentucky as a freshman he started one out of 32 games he averaged 15.2 points 2.9 rebounds 3.9 assists Off the Bench 495 from the field 444 from three like all of those are like oh my gosh his per 40 numbers which is what they do in the in the NCAA 26.1 6.6 and five with 1.8 steals per game man like impressive it’s almost like they’ve created Malik monk to go put out into the world and that’s fine right it’s like hey that guy rules let’s make a new one exactly but but here’s the problem that I’m going to bring up yeah is that if you’re the Kings you’ve got you’ve got a handful of assets to work with right the first asset you have is number 13 pick in the draft yes the next asset the only your only true free agent you have Alex Len you have javil McGee you’ve got um oh uh Kessler Kessler adwards okay those are your three uh free agents right outside of Malik mon but the problem is if you don’t sign Malik monk to that 17.4 million the only thing you you have to spend is a mid-level exception at like 12 13 million and a biannual exception so that’s tough so what you can’t do is on one night draft Rob Dillingham and then two days later sign Malik Monk and now the only thing that you did at during your offseason basically brought in two of the same players that makes it really really difficult when those are your only two like pieces now you can go on and trade and you can trade future picks and stuff like that but the immediacy of this is that you only have really these two things that you’re working on what do we do with the number 13 pick slash other pick slash trades and what do we do about Malik monk is Malik Monk coming back is he not coming back you would hope that by the 26 27th the draft day that we’re going to know where where Malik Monk Is is in his process and and then you’re GNA hope that nothing changes right at the last second because that’s what you always have to always have to be worried about do you think we’ll we’ll just on the Malik monk front briefly do you think that we’ll know because day after the finals end is when the Kings can start negotiating with him yeah do you think we’ll legitimately know like right away no I don’t because the other teams can’t negotiate with him that’s the problem so we know that the Kings can negotiate with Malik but that’s it and so I’m not really sure you know what they’re going to do there like you’re gonna you’re going to be able to see like okay we know I I I can tell you right now the kings are all in at 7 foure 78 Point whatever million a 17.4 million they’re they’re in like they can’t announce that they can’t put it out there but they’re I can tell everybody out there in the world the kings are not going to lowball him and I know some people like well look what happened to Mike Brown situation no it’s not happening it’s over it’s like he whatever it is he can get from the Kings he will be offered that right so he’s not going to sign up day one because he now has another we got two weeks until fre agency we’ve got we got 13 days until free agency officially starts MH technically no team can go out there and give him an offer at all outside the Kings until the day of now it doesn’t mean that that’s the way it works because we always like know a little bit in advance about what’s going to happen um but it’s because the offers kind of like roll in like really quickly that I mean how does a player switch teams on 1201 on on the day or or 3 3 301 it’s called tampering James it’s called tampering exactly it’s just a complicated World though that they’re in because you can call an agent and say hey we’re um you know we have player x that you have that’s that’s part of your so again Malik monk has an agent the Kings can call Malik Monk’s agent and talk to them about Malik monk um another team could call that same agency because they have a player and then say you just like in a general conversation that that agent could say you know well Malik monk is looking for XYZ if you guys are interested and the other team can well we can’t tamper right but but there are ways in which you understand what it is players are asking for what they want what they’re going to get from another team and the other thing that like it’s kind of a bummer for the Kings but there’s like a giant billboard on the internet that says the KS can only offer Malik monk 17.4 million and 78 million so every team in the league knows what they’re competing with right right they understand Mak really tough yeah they understand exactly what the Kings can offer so sure do they know that they probably have to come in at 25 in order to get Malik to like switch what’s happening here maybe but maybe 22 gets it done maybe maybe 19 gets it done you don’t know until you you get into the negotiation and try to figure it out yeah so yeah we won’t fully know what we will start hearing is it like oh team the Orlando Magic or Toronto Raptors or Philadelphia 76ers are are uh kicking the tires preparing to offer yeah they’re they’re in interested you know in acquiring if W says a team is zeroing in on Malik monk watch out that means it’s it’s done that it does so whe and then that’s when the kings are like calling to you know say Hey or do we have tampering going on here yeah yeah yeah yeah so man anyway it should be interesting um yeah I just can’t if if he’s whether Malik monk stays or goes like it like you said it’s not it’s a matter of not what the kings are going to offer him it’s what some other team is going to offer him and does he want that and that situation over what Sacramento has to offer that’s kind of it um I just can’t imagine a scenario where he’s back here and then Rob dingham falls to the Kings and Monty McNair in the front office go that’ll help even if Rob dingham is a good player it just it I don’t I don’t think that makes them better yes tough I I’ve been an advocate and I and you know somebody might say well you say just add good players that’s the point of team it’s like to a to a point though uhhuh and I don’t I don’t like it well this is where Kyle you get into that problem of offense offense versus defense right yeah well and and it does like height still matters a little in basketball well height and wingspan matter height wingspan and the right you can you can rock a dear and fox Keon Ellis Malik monk lineup because Keon Ellis and dearn fox are both good Defenders with good range and length and athleticism to make up for you know what Malik monk doesn’t do on that end yeah and they can score if it’s dear and and and Malik Monk and Rob Dillingham now you have a problem or Keon Ellis and Monk and dillingh like now you have now you have a problem so that’s that’s where that’s where I think you run into some issues but uh we have another mock draft to look at and then I have a question for you that I thought of but we’re out of time so we’ll get to that as well um more King talk coming up on ESPN 1320 Sacramento Sports Center he Lukaku had another goal taken off oh no yeah there was a hand ball oh not on him on the oh on the the pl it that broke it Loose okay okay so so Dennis let me explain this um so because Malik has early bird rights the the minimum that you can sign a guy to early bird rights is two seasons that’s it’s it’s just the rule that’s built in it’s so teams don’t circumvent the cap sign a guy to sign a guy that they signed to a two-year deal to a one-year deal and now they have his full Larry Bird rights because you didn’t do it the first time it penalizes you so now you’ve got to sign him to a two-year deal that makes sense so it’s it but when we talk about like the kings are signing Malik monk to a four-year deal right um it’s a 4year 78 points whatever million dollar deal there’s I’m I’m pretty sure that the way that this works is you either have to sign a three-year deal with an opt out after three so you can opt out for the last season or a two-year deal a three-year deal that you can opt out after two so I think the only way you can do it is a one-year opt out right uh at the end so it’s got to be two years and then another year opt out or three years and then a fourth year opt out so it gets a little complicated if they have him if they sign him to a two-year deal then he’s eligible for full Larry Bird rights but basically they would sign him to a three-year deal with an opt out after a year two which would be his own a player option yeah then they could give him way more money there there’s not an actual bill boore George uh yes that was a very disappointing start for Belgium that was wild but that’s why you don’t Bank on Lukaku yeah so it’s a Gamble for sure okay so again they can sign him to a three-year deal with an option after the after two years they can sign to a three-year deal with an option I mean a four-year deal with an option after three so it’s just the varying degrees of of like risk for both sides and just because Malik monk blows up right now and has a great season doesn’t mean that two years from now he’s going to have the same market value so I would want to have a yeah yeah so Wheezy I believe he can’t do an option after two I think if you sign a four-year deal the only option you can do is after the third uh so just for the fourth season um so the next level would be what does this look like the 4year 78 uh what would a three-year it’d be a three-year 59 something like that probably maybe three or 58 um yeah Bruce Brown would be a good get I don’t know who asked that I did not watch the fights on Friday hey well that is hilarious check your mentions yeah here we go hour number two that guy right there is James ham this guy right here is Kyle Madson talking NBA Finals talking Kings talking NBA draft Lots going on James we’re gonna flip the rundown around a little bit just FYI um so we talked a little bit about Rob Dillingham which is the king selection in a mock draft in the athletic that came out today the ringer and um uh Kevin o’ Conor put out a mock today with Nicola topic going to the Kings and what I thought was interesting about the write up is that it doesn’t mention the fact that he’s hurt oh um which is kind of odd and he might miss like all of this season because he tore his ACL right did I did I dream that did I imagine that that Rob Dillingham did no no no no topic oh topic oh no no yeah topic they found a torn ACL um and and the European be embarrassing um yeah yeah yeah the combine and in the combine in European combine yes yeah they they just discovered a partially torn ACL and they were gonna bring him overseas now the only reason topic would fall to the Kings at 13 would be because of a blown ACL right and like look if the Kings have some other big deal that they’re working out that doesn’t include the 2024 pick and you you retain your 20 24 pick that’s a player you’re like why not like a top five player top six player Falls to 13 because an HCL and you red shirt him this year and you have them work on the knee and and then you build them up in the G League once he’s healthy and all that stuff but again an ACL TIR is usually a full year and we’re already you know in June so or if he does go under the knife you’re looking at a full year of recovery but I I almost think that we talked about this with Dillingham too where man if this player’s falling to 13 now all of a sudden the 13th pick is pretty valuable yes yes and man I I’m I’m with you on because he’s a like six5 rangy scorer ball handler type uh he just he can he can fill it up he’s a good player but if he’s not helping you this year and there’s an offer on the table and again if you just if you have to use your pick if there’s yeah hey can’t work out a trade there’s no trade that’s going to really help us so we’re going to have to take Nicola topic and great you’re you’re you’re living with that and feeling good about it uhuh but I just think that there’s that is a dream scenario for the Kings not because they can they can draft the player but because I think again now all of a sudden you’re getting uh real value for the 13th pick in a way that you didn’t think you might in this year’s draft yeah or with this year’s draft class no I mean that’s why the draft is especially this draft in particular is so fluid because there there are going to be players that people fall in love with right like whether it’s it’s kingan that is on one board is at seven one board he’s at number one right there there could be someone like that that falls there could there’s a lot of guys in this draft that could fall uh but like topich is like topic is six foot seven point guard like I’m a little lary on his 6′ 5.5 wingspan that’s that’s probably not a good thing um which lends me to believe he’s not really 67 that’s where I’m going to guess he’s not 6 probably closer to about 65 yeah yeah yeah so um but like these are these are players where you’re like you’re intrigued and all up and down the board on this year’s draft I think there’s only a couple of constants like Donovan uh kingham I think will be a top five pick right but also I think Dalton connect will be a top 12 player no problem and you know exactly who he is because been in the college game for for 3 four years right so there’s just so much unknown outside of that you know whether it’s the international players and we’re talking like four four of the top like 13 picks are international outside of that you’ve got your g-league players so there’s two more G leagues that are super young g-league players and then it just I’m just looking at the players that are picked to that are projected to go from 13 up right between one and 13 so we got four Internationals two g-league players which one of those is an international and then one two three four freshman so we’re looking at like 10 of the top 13 are are freshman International or g-league and all of the international players are like 18 19 year old Internationals we’re not talking about like a 22y old International player coming over so there’s only a couple of players in this draft where again kingan and and connect and Devin Carter those are the only guys three guys that are like seasoned college players wow that should go where the kings are at or above them before them in the draft and it’s not that at Dennis Youngblood in the in the chatty house youtube.com ESPN 1320 if you want to hang out with us but he said um number one ranked point guard in this year’s draft you don’t want him on the Kings I guess not no not that if he’s if he’s there and you can’t work out a deal that makes you better then he go get him but I also think that there’s going to be an emphasis on this season specifically and if there’s a chance that the Kings can go add let’s just bring let’s just say it’s it’s Kyle kma just for for in fact you know what no let’s go to a better player uh let’s say it’s Brandon Ingram okay and the Pelicans are like hey we want to we want the 13th pick in this in this trade and you can do that then go do that oh yeah instead of droing instead of taking topage but if there’s not if the hawk not the Hawks if the Jazz are like hey we give you John Collins for the 13th then then no that’s not going to make you that much better go get go get the player and know that next season you’re going to get a get a really good player coming in into your club but I think there’s going to be a lot of emphasis on this year with the way last season when the the I I don’t know that the Kings ownership front office coaching staff is going to be thrilled with yeah hey roster didn’t get a lot better this year but hey next year this topich kid topich topich topich I think it’s topic no disrespect if I’m pronouncing it incorrectly but um this kid next year though while they go win 45 games and miss the playoffs like that’s not gonna fly dude it’s it’s tough It’s it’s yeah it’s aough don’t make these decisions because I would not be able to yeah and I I think someone is comparing um D is saying that Dillingham is is that what you’re hearing Dillingham is a top point guard Prospect or are they saying topit uh I think it was toit okay yeah because again when we’re talking about it might have been dilling him I don’t know well if we’re talking about dilling him there’s also Devin Carter who’s an older Prospect who all of a sudden fits every single box that the Kings would look at I like Deon Carter a lot he he’s six three and a half he’s got a 68.75 wingspan so a 69ine wingspan uh a defensive road grader and he averaged 8.7 rebounds per game from from a shooting guard position or a point guard position he also shot 37.7% from three uh you know he’s a little loose with his handles 2.7 turnovers per game but 1.8 steals that’s the guy and he also he fits who the kings are that’s who the Kings draft a 22y old who has proven time and time again that he can play and that’s Anthony Carter son right uh yeah so this is a player we’ve already gone over but that’s where again if you’re looking at all of the things that are happening with the Kings if they are going to draft a 13 if push comes to shove and these two players Dillingham and Carter were on the board at the same spot I have a tough time believing they’re not drafting Devin Carter I’m with you yeah I’m I’m right there with you when you just look at the history of a a how they’ve drafted in the past and B what they need yeah and again around the same exact like like range in the draft that’s that’s what I don’t know this is a guy that checks more boxes in the Sacramento Kings world than than a Rob Dillingham or even a topic who topic is probably goingon to miss the entire season yeah and if it’s not the entire season he might miss six months and and again that’s development time that’s an offseason that’s learning the game all that stuff yeah it’s tough yeah it just puts him it puts him in a really tough spot and I I I just I think that you’re going to see Sacramento prioritize the 2024 2025 season above all else when it comes to this offseason especially when it comes to draft night and it comes to the first two days of free agency yeah where not only free agency happens but trades happen yes like and draft night is where a lot of Trades get built out and and then they’re going to be like they won’t become official until the 6th when the moratorium lifts but that’s when a lot of Trades Happ happen is right there yeah so I again it’s not a it’s not disrespect to those players as prospects I I just a I think because they are good prospects you’re going to see potentially some some good value coming back to the Kings if they move those picks if one of those one of those two players or both of those players Falls to them and that’s I think where they’re going to where they’re going to go unless like it a lot changes if monk does leave because now it’s changing a little bit how you’re constru your team and maybe you think that Dillingham can can be that guy but but even still if that were the case I think you can probably still use the 13th as a value of the 13th pick and then go find a $4 million player that you hope that you could that’s got a couple years in the league like we’ve talked about this bones Highlands train De Anthony Milton yeah DeAnthony Milton bones Highland who oddly enough is one of the player comps for Rob Dillingham in the ring there you go yeah might be an ability to go get one of those guys who has experience and could step in and help right away and then that number 13 pick you can still use as as a valuable trade chip to go get something better yeah definitely we’ll keep doing this we’ll keep talking Kings offseason throughout um throughout the next couple of months Lots going on but we have a Finals game tonight game five between the Celtics and Mavericks in Boston uh you’ll hear it right here on ESPN 1320 with there some of the receivers they’ve drafted it’s like not just super easy to replace Brandon auk who was an all pro and had uh seven he finished seventh in the league in receiving yards despite being 36 in targets and 32 in receptions was seventh in the league in receiving yards still um so I don’t think he’d be super easy to replace but I do think the ners have a puke point with him that I don’t think they had with Bosa where if Brandon auk and his representation are going like hey we need 35 million a year we need we need the Justin Jefferson contract we want to be above Justin Jefferson like the Niners aren’t going to probably do that so that’s where I think the the difference is and and uh they held out and held out and held out with Bosa hoping that he would take some lesser number and and you know they are wound up uh not necessarily a lesser number but I I know with with deals that size there’s probably a lot of uh minations and maneuvering that had to go into to how that was constructed but um yeah I think with auk it’s just there’s a real chance that they could be like hey never mind and I don’t think they’ll trade him but I think they’d force him to play out his fifth year option and then try and figure it out next offseason so two strong reminders David oh hey Charlie how’s it all right I love that guy nobody’s crying about anything dog it’s just they if they can get a player who affects their lineup this year and yeah Talent needs time to develop um but I don’t think that James might know differently but I don’t think that oh hey Rob Dillingham is developing and that’s why it’s okay that they won 45 games this year in the roster was still weird like I I just I’m trying to be realistic about what the front office is is looking at um so just don’t be disrespectful and call it crying like it’s just a freaking discussion dog relax well that and I I would also tell you that the King still are waiting to see what K and Murray’s going to be and on top of that there intrigued and want to see what Keon Ellis is going to be you do have two young players that you’re you’re still developing so somebody said crying yeah here we go now back to the Celtics at Deja Vu feeling oh make him make him uh question what’s happening make him uh start to go uh oh what’s happening is it possible that we could let this thing slip away because we do know the Celtics in the past have uh not always lived up to the hype and have not always shown up in these big situations why don’t you put the fear in them because that’s how you get back in this series dude that ties in perfectly with mine so we’ll I’ll read it and then we’ll stick here uh for the Celtics for me you got to hit your threes early and it’s for that exact reason because if the Celtics are not knocking down their threes early now all of a sudden that I think they’ve overcome the whatever it was that caused them to collapse in the 2022 finals against Golden State because I genuinely believe Boston was a better team that year they just didn’t have the experience to really get over that hump and then whatever it was that made them lose to the heat before the finals last year as the uh in the Conference Finals whatever that was that made them lose to to that Miami team I thought they’d overcome it and I still think they have but if they’re missing their threes early and the Mavs are coming out and they’re hitting shots all of a sudden that home crowd because while there could be a homecourt Advantage there’s also a little bit of a disadvantage when that crowd starts to get uncomfortable like you’ve we’ve all been to sporting events where high pressure situation and that crowd’s just a little tense a little gets a little tight the vi yeah it just gets a it’s scary so I I think to to your point uh with the Mavs coming out and giving the heat that or the the Celtics excuse me that Deja Vu feeling uh I think the Celtics can avoid that if they just knock down their threes early on that’s their offense and if they’re cold to start the game I think it’s gonna be really really hard to dig out of that hole Yeah I think if this is a close game Boston wins I do and then if it’s going to be a blowout I think that it can go either way because I don’t think I don’t think Dallas is is going to win a close game in Boston yeah I don’t I don’t think so either I don’t think so so uh number two hit the glass uh for some reason I think this is a missing part of game four sure Boston missed shots but the Mavs outrebounded the Celtics 52 to 31 good Lord and this is something that could have happened multiple times in this series and and could have been like a major factor but when it comes to rebounding the the Mavericks just have better athletes flying at The Rim they do they’ve got bigger stronger guys that are going to The Rim now Al Horford has been a decent rebounder throughout his career but he’s a positioned rebounder without porzingis to fly in and get some boards they need other guys to really step up but Gafford and and uh Derek Lively are huge dudes and super athletic and if they decide to go win the glass that gives them an opportunity to win this game they outrebounded uh Dallas on the offensive glass 13 to4 Derek Lively by himself had seven offensive rebounds the Celtics as a team had four offensive rebounds that is that’s crazy and that’s why this again my second key ties into yours you got to put a body on Derek Lively he’s he is a he is a giant man and he is a good athlete I understand it but the Celtics whole thing is like yeah hey you can’t really outsize them you can’t out athleticism them they just always kind of got answers and they don’t really have an answer for Derrick Lively or they didn’t in game four I don’t care if it’s Derek white or or Jaylen Brown or Jason Tatum or pton Pritchard or whoever somebody get a body on Derek left that he if he’s if he’s pulling out offensive boards that’s really really demoralizing yeah I think it’s an interesting pivot point in this series where one team does have an advantage in a specific area that I don’t think that they’ve capitalized on in multiple games all of a sudden they may have uncovered something and it reminds me a little bit of how the uh the physicality of the game that’s usually when you see the rebound numbers have like a major disparity when one team is way more physical but it reminds me of what happened in the Kings Warrior series um a year and a half ago when the the Warriors just and specifically kav on Looney just destroyed the Kings every single time you thought you you had a defensive stop yep he got an offensive rebound and hit a spray three hit it out to a a guy for a spray three yep it was demoralizing and that’s where I think you can you can sort of break a little bit of the confidence of the Celtics by dominating the glass that way yeah definitely uh the other the other thing that’s kind of funny about this is we’re like hey Derek Lively could be a pivot point of this series he was huge getting him to the finals and now man if he keeps playing like that it could it could swing this thing in in a direction we didn’t think it could go meanwhile we talk about the Kings we’re like well yeah a rookie can’t contribute yeah just a funny a funny just position and a rookie what number 13 pick or number 12 pick whatever live was like exact same area of the shout out to Derek Livy he’s having a really really fine rookie year number three for you uh number three uh keep your mouth shut in play well I I mean if you want to talk trash to the other team that’s one thing you want to talk trash to the fans that’s one thing go out there and play don’t worry about the officiating go out there and leave it all out there and like stay laser focused on what’s Happening and what you can control and if the the Mavs can do that I think they at least have a shot but that’s where I think the distractions they’ve allowed the officials to be part of the conversation in this series where I really don’t think the officials needed to be any there is not like some egregious blown call that we can all point to um outside of maybe the slight hand in the back but even that but even that was a dunk that was gonna cut a game from five to three with 20 something seconds left um or inside of a minute but it would still like you said it shouldn’t have been a conversation um number three for me uh who wants the MVP oh Jaylen Brown or Jason Tatum one of them needs to step up they combined and I know they came out they only played 27 minutes each but they combined to go seven of 22 they combined took 22 field goals in in game four they were combined two of nine from three between the two of them again this is Jason Tatum and Jaylen Brown the two guys who are the favorites to be the finals MVP 25 Five Points six rebounds five assists five turnovers seven fouls and they w a combined minus 61 one of those two guys I don’t give a damn which one it is go take over the game be that dude and if one of those guys does that if one of those guys goes out and has a great game I think it’s would be really really tough for the Mavericks to overcome that just because of everything that does for for the rest of Boston’s offense when one of those two guys gets rolling so which one of them wants it I would like to see one of them go go grab that a grab that award around a throat and take it and I think if they do that I think we get Celtics and five in which case James and I will be right and while I am rooting for more games because I do love basketball and I do love watching the sport especially at the highest level like this uh I also like being right more so I would love I would love to be correct Celtics and five Celtics and five that’s is what needs to happen but now that I’ve manifested that they’re going to get rolled again oh GNA have to come jinx us anyways all right uh we got to hit a break we know what I love this dude sheldrick redwine a safety from Miami yep was that player for me one year couldn’t tell you I just love how he played and then I went to go I wrote about him and I went to go find a find a photo of him and there’s a photo of him holding a sign a whiteboard on the sideline with the turnover chain on that just says the crib because he housed his interception like just incredible love him uh not a good football player not a good NFL player actively bad but every time I see his name come up I’m like Niner should get that guy I think he could I think they could C I think he could be a player That’s where Zack Ed lands for me he may be good in the NBA I don’t know but we’ve been sitting here talking about the Kings and we’ve every time we talk about the draft it’s kind of like yeah okay look here’s all these names there’s all these guys to know but how can they contribute this year that would Mt that’s what matters is out of the gate how can they help now forget their development forget what they look like in three years four years the Kings need to win 50 games I don’t know pick a number x amount of games this year and make the playoffs like that is the floor or that’s going to be the expectation so how does a rookie help all of that goes out the window for Zach it doesn’t need to be logical it doesn’t need to make sense I don’t need to know what his free throw percentage was the fact that he doesn’t shoot from X Y and Z spots on the floor or that he’s too slow to play defense or whatever whatever critique there is of Zack Ed I don’t care I’m in you’re in I’m so in I think he seems like a really good kid and he’s he is a winner he’s a dog and he he’s got like I’m a winner he’s got skills you have to defend him he can rebound he can block shots it’s just I don’t know how that works at the NBA level and if you have a fast team how does that work I just and you can’t put him on the perimeter don’t you don’t you shush me don’t you TR me watch right so when you’re watching him D you go how does this look with NBA athletes I got so I I get that all right car on step’s back but he’s also 7 foot5 and can dunk without jumping that’s right and that’s what can Alex Lenn do that is Alex Lenn 75 no I just want the spectacle of it I want to go on the floor pregame for you know posting on social and you know doing work and stuff and talking to people and hey here’s it was Victor wanyama same thing oh yeah you just you just there’s a it’s a little bit different when that guy walks in the building um and that’s how I would feel about Zack Taco Fall when Taco Fall came through for pre-draft workout it was like okay this is the biggest dude I have ever seen in my entire life and like I’ve been around simar um Sim was comically big comically big just in just maxed out as a human yeah I don’t think he had a single abdominal muscle no but he the best but everything else like he was so big like 7 Foot six seven foot seven like him but Taco is like he’s this he’s so wide yeah you’re just like that is a gigantic human being it is it is nuts that a sport like basketball where size matters so much that a player like Taco Fall just can’t be in an NBA rotation but see that’s why you have to have these conversations about about a guy like like Zach eie yeah and that’s and that’s that’s that’s kind of the thing with with him specifically and again this isn’t like there was some report that the kings are going to D this is this is just us talking Hoops yeah um that’s the pro is hey can he be Rudy goar can he have that kind of is he going to be that level of impactful defensively where man you know what he’s in the dpy conversation every year and he’s making all defensive teams and he’s an actual impact player on that end of the court or is he Taco Fall okay but where you go in the 1980s version of the NBA yeah maybe he comes in and dominates but in the pace in space era it doesn’t fly I think if if you if he could have converted himself into a Brook Lopez then you would have been like okay I see how it works right yeah you got to space the floor a little yeah you can go in the post and you can do your thing good idea or bad idea m I kind of want to see how it plays out I mean first of all he’s not a young guy he should be established and able to like keep going there like I don’t know I I think that that’s a bad idea I would have like to have seen him get uh another opportunity and like I’d have to go back to his first start of the year and what impact that had on him um and see how he pitched like but I’m looking at it you know he has a no- hitter and in game one and then six Innings of one hit ball in game two I you know goes six in the next three five and two3 six five and two3 I probably would let him go like let him hit 150 pitches if it if it met yeah man that’s like 120 I’m giving him I’m giving him one more unless there’s something that they know is is a danger for him they’re seeing the mechanics start to slip or something right yeah but dude I’m I’m giving him I’m giving him one more inning see if he can get see if he can get through the eighth Inning on on five or six pitches that’s tough yeah that’s really tough I mean he had eight strikeouts I I oh that’s a bad idea let him go for it let go for a second no hitter he’s been excellent this season really good like quality starts he’s got a ton of quality starts he’s only got well maybe two rough starts but even those he didn’t really even get that lit up I I think it looked like injuries in in both of those or or just getting I don’t know that’s wild number three last one here then we’ll get to Kenny carway in the handoff the Olympics are holding swimming events in the uh scene SC SE River yep uh I looked it up today and then forgot uh so in the sign River where swimming has been outlawed for a century because the water is disgusting run off from the street sewage boat pollution so they’ve stopped having boats and stuff on the river to help with pollution they’ve invested 1.5 billion in this 13 million gallon tank uh that is supposed to siphon off the badw uh they don’t have a plan B if it rains in that during the Olympics and that 13 million gallon tank gets overflowed and the water’s disgusting and they can’t compete they’re just not swimming this is the open the Open Water Events they have like a pool for the swimming events but for the Triathlon stuff like that it would just be a bathon at that point I get it it’s it’s uh so much a part of of their City it is a beautiful beautiful Part City I don’t think I would go anywhere near that like bodies of water like like that I mean that thing’s been around for if they drained the sign SC sign the sign the sign Cheez you would not want to just know what’s in there oh no I want no parts of whatever things are happening inside that River well that and Kyle that’s a like a medieval city maybe yes that’s what I’m talking about where some of the the pipes go that you don’t know where they go They’re going in there you don’t want to know yeah the sewer system it wasn’t great and probably wasn’t any good at all up until nine events and then everything goes off and it’s fine agreed I think it’s gonna be happens all the time yeah it’ll be fine it would basically take historic rainfall for this 13 million gallon tank to get overloaded to where the water would not be suitable for swimming okay I’m still not I’m not sure I I wouldn’t trust it I I just have like that is a like I’ve been to cities in Europe where you’re you’re walking down the streets and you’re like their sewer sewer system still isn’t right and it’s like you know 2000 you’re like what’s happening here this is not like this city smells yeah and that’s that’s certain cities in Europe there they like they’ve been around forever that city’s been around oh forever I don’t know what’s dumping into that and I wouldn’t want to go swimming in it the Olympics are what about four weeks away five weeks away yeah middle of July wasn’t the uh 2024 Olympics awarded to Paris like 15 years ago yeah that’s what they that’s why they’ve built this entire one and a half billion dollar water tank see that’s the problem ioc right they should have like okay you think you can host the Olympics need to know for sure that you’re about to like I need to know everything that you’re going to do how you’re going to do it where these events are going to be held I’m familiar with this little nasty uh river that you have how are you going to fix that how much money is it going to cost when is it going to take like it uh it should be done eight years before the Olympics not eight weeks yeah I think they they EAS well they did a test event in the water and it was fine everything went off okay okay it’s just a matter of yo if it rains which it could climate’s crazy if it rains it’s like hey we’re not having swimming events the lack of the plan B is what is what is crazy to me that is a true I also think that there they have to have like other rivers that they or other places that they could have done this like but they want the scenery of it I I get it but for for what event first of all the scenery of it it runs right down the middle of Paris it’s a beautiful like everyone walk watch walks over the Bri bridges in order to go from like the main area of Paris to like the Eiffel Tower you’ve got to cross the sign so and and it’s on one side and like I don’t know like notredam is on the other side like main oh the the Lou is on one side there’s actually a point where the Lou is on one side and the dors uh museum is on the other like they’re right across from each other but you have to take Bridges and stuff yeah like it’s a beautiful part of the city but I don’t know why you had to have an event in it that’s where I TV man is that the equivalent of um you know the the the Olympics being in New York City and they went swimming events in the what’s that the Hudson River oh yeah is that the equivalent yeah probably or if they had oh what they could do in s Francisco you got to swim from alcatra to somewhere else well and you got to clear the Sharks an hourong discussion gotta clear all the sharks out in La where where would it be uh they don’t I guess right off of one of the beaches they that Canal you fill it with water yeah that’s where it’s gonna be we going to the Olympics 2028 yeah we’re pulling up for sure oh World Cup in 26 Olympics in 28 cannot wait for World Cup be in there yeah can’t wait chatty house is gonna in there and tell us what the hell went on Friday night the Boston Celtics lost the basketball game the Dallas Mavericks finally W1 in the finals congrats to them it’s all it is that’s all it happened it’s all it is lost by 50 yeah happens they’re at 3-1 all right that’s why we have a game tonight that’s we get season is not over yet and as it pertains to Friday’s game that’s all you’re getting that’s about all we’re doing with were at concerts in the park uh for our other job and a good amount of time it like we were we were busy right so I I didn’t we were well we were approaching halftime I think before we first saw the score the hell is this like wow they they they ain’t got it look at Luca got 40 no Luka’s having a day but all right well we we’ll wait to okay well you know we got work to do we’ll check back see when the Run happens run never happened no and there was no run happening there that was that they uh I I I I thought there was a possibility the Mavericks could win that game but I didn’t see it going like that like I thought it would be like oh they they hung around they you know they win again it didn’t have to be close but I didn’t I didn’t think it would be a 30-point game at some point uh in game four I think no matter I think if the if the Celtics lose tonight regardless of how the series goes I think the Celtics are going to be like one of the most disrespected champions in recent memory they’re G to get because this series it feels like and it’s part of the it’s part of the new cycle that’s just the way it is right like we’re we’re living it every time Caitlyn Clark plays it’s it’s the new cycle and this finals has been like one grand sweeping Proclamation after another whether it’s it started before the finals even started with the idea that the Celtics just they it’s the easiest trip to the finals in history it’s the easiest row this is oh this is this is just nothing oh they’re they’re not winning by enough it’s this and that and then game three it became Luca the perception of Luca donic could Luca donic ever be the same is is this going to change the way people feel about Luca dones Kyrie Irving the biggest game of Kyrie Irving’s life just one after the other after the other today this happened with um was it the Timberwolves did the Timberwolves when the Timberwolves went down they won a game ah I could see them coming back winning four in a row three in a row or whatever the number was oh yeah Timber when they down three okay it’s they doing the same thing with Dallas they doing the old kand don’t let them get tonight then they get back to Dallas and it’s like all right man all right y’all had dirt on Luca’s body two days ago now you got them winning the finals well a lot of those people picked them to win the finals too so they didn’t believe that when they said it so so that that has something to do with it as well but I mean it’s it’s one of those things where you know the the closeout game I believe is always the hardest uh hardest game to to to win you get a desperate you get a desperate team and then like we mentioned on Friday you get a team that feels like they have nothing to lose and they play a little Freer yep and that’s what we saw sometimes sometimes it’s it’s uh it’s a little harder than normal to close out that that type of game but I mean there there’s a there’s a road for that like I don’t I don’t think there’s any chance of it happening but I mean if you want to lay out a scenario find a way to get a win in game five which is it’s not it’s not inconceivable don’t think it’s going to happen I think the series ends tonight but you know Luke and Kyrie go for 35 a piece and they pull out a close win in in Boston and then you look at that situation where it’s like hey you go back to Dallas you believe that you’re going to win if you’re if you’re the home team and then Anything could happen in a one one game scenario in game seven so you you lay out you know um the scario that way to see if you know you can find a way for Dallas to come back and win this situation that’s what it would look like but me personally I think this is over tonight like i’ I’d be I’d be floored if Dallas were to win this game tonight in Boston I I would be I’d be astonished it’ probably be the most surprising thing of the NBA season to me if they were to win tonight and that’s why I think the Celtics losing tonight even winning the finals will set a narrative about this basketball team they have a chance to win the championship as the most dominant Team all year like League wide no conversation most dominant Team all year they have a chance to win it at home and to drop two in a row like it it’s not it’s it’s going to be the first time a title doesn’t help the narrative around a player and there’s narratives it’s actually players in Tatum and brown those guys are really really similar personality wise and I think that’s what drives media crazy I I don’t know I don’t know if that’ll happen I mean what are they gonna say it’s on the verge of happening already but what are they gonna say if they have a championship like what they’re saying right now is they haven’t been able to get it done like they’ll they’ll find a way to not get it done at the end of the day like that’s that’s what they’re pushing for Tatum and brown in this version of the Celtics right now if they get it done what are they going to say they had the easiest road to the NBA finals and they coughed up a chance to win and on their home floor after being up three- Z I I don’t I don’t know if they they already do like I didn’t make that up they may say that on Tuesday five days before the start of the NBA season I don’t think they’ll talk about them losing game five on their home no they’re not gonna be no no I’ll tell you exactly what they’ll be doing five days before the season started they’re not gonna be talking about the Celtics they’re going to be talking about whoever signs the big free agent obviously the Kings they’re going to be talking about whoever you know wherever Paul George Signs if Paul George is with Philadelphia they’re going to be talking about Philadelphia they’re going to be talking more about Milwaukee struggles if they don’t sign anyone else is this the end does Yan they’re gonna be talking does Giannis ask out next summer they might do that even if the Celtics win by 90 tonight I feel like they already hate the Celtics or don’t like this version or don’t like those two players and they’re they’re they’re gearing up for Damon and and Giannis drama or Paul George and Joel MB or or whatever Philadelphia 76er team you could put together or when does Joe ask out who’s the next Eastern Conference Superstar to ask out they’re gonna disregard this title if they win it from the Boston Celtics so much I feel like yeah maybe they did that to Denver last year I mean that’s just the nature of media right like nobody’s saying Denver was they did what to Denver they discredited Denver last year who a lot of people discredited Denver man you and I we watched two different NBA media things I did not see Denver I saw the coronation of the Denver Nuggets last year you talk about nobody cares about Denver you you would talk about nobody cares five days before the you think people cared about Denver like defending their championship last year they’re beloving nicoa yic they didn’t talk about so they didn’t talk about I’m wrong they didn’t talk about Dam and Yannis at the start of the season they didn’t talk about LeBron the LeBron and the The Unbelievable offseason the Lakers had and they could be Champions and all this other stuff yeah they did that I mean but they but they didn’t do that but that wasn’t done in an effort to discredit the Nuggets this will be what I’m what I’m saying is they would they would uh ignore Denver the way you said they would ignore Boston going into next Seas I don’t know I I get I watched a different NBA a lot of they picked Denver all year they it was Denver in Dallas all year I’m sorry they said it was Denver in um Boston all year you think people are not going to pick Boston next year I think they I think it’d be nuts if they didn’t yeah like you said they picked them this year but they they’ll pick them again they just I don’t know I don’t know the intention I don’t know that that road last year was so easy they didn’t have to face Tyrese halberton I mean they like to my whole point with Denver though they they talk about Miami they talk about like they fa face the a seed in the in the NBA Finals they talk about that as a as a and and at the same time while they talk about that they give yage their beloved yage his du and I think they give Tatum and and brown their du as well it’s still the Boston Celtics like there’s still enough people it’s still the Boston Celtics they’re they’re not going to treat them like the the king I guess we’re different because you listen to so much Bill Simmons and don’t like I don’t hear them loving the Celtics the way that you do Zack does it hell the more the more the most critical people of the Celtics are Bill Simmons and Kevin oconnell those are the ones that know that that tell you like oh they they don’t have it and all this other stuff everybody else is like nobody beating Boston I would not know um we’ll come back we’ve got a lot to dive into um the Dallas Mavericks winning um game four was not even the biggest news that happened in the NBA that night uh we’ll talk about it uh we’ll talk about Charles Barkley uh as Charles gave us our clearest insight into where the MBA TV deal is at not only where the NBA TV deal is at I think he gave us the greatest um sign that this deal is done and there is no fourth partner also we’ve got scrub social media accounts uh we’ve got Hoops hype talking Kings and we’ve got New Orleans still talking Brandon Ingram all of that is on the way we’re happy was a disaster I don’t know if it was the ropes or the ring or everybody was off saw I saw that clip about with the ref telling I think it was AJ like yo the ropes are little iffy like be aware it was it was not and so what Jade missed missed was a off the Rope thing what Dame missed was an off the Rope thing what Bianca looked like ass on was the flip off the top rope like like Shaina I think one of because I was telling you like even Shaina look bad I think Shaina had a hard time hitting the ropes like there was clearly something wrong for that many performers to look that bad how does that happen I don’t know how does that happen how does it not get fixed once you know somebody yeah after the first match with AJ and Cody it should have been fixed but I’m not I’m not I don’t I’m not sure but that six-woman tag match was bad that was very bad I did I did see that that was that was really cool that was dope how they how they did that uh Drew McIntyre CM Punk thing oh the camera that was fantastic I can’t fantastic I can’t believe they did that to their crowd again crazy that was fan because I I watched it I watched the clip not knowing what happened and they’re like oh it was just that it was just like WWE with the camera angle was crazy and I just watched the like the minute and a half clip and I was like oh they got me I was like what is what are they doing yeah and and before I saw punk I was like what that ain’t Punk is it if that’s Punk they did that I was like oh man they they killed that Drew screw Drew alren no we do not mbappe is my boy but uh I paid attention to um the Euro Cup in the past like vaguely but I don’t I know I I guess it’s probably because I have no rooting interest so like none at all none whatsoever so just kind of just kind of watch I don’t know if I really have rooting entrance in the World Cup I I guess I mean I I like to see the USA do well but I’m not living and dying with it I like um um for whatever uh reason I always like Jamaica’s team I like that they’re pretty good but big thanks to everybody who came through Oak Park on Saturday and Cesar Chavez park on Friday yeah man big busy weekend man probably in front of 10,000 people combin the two events man it was a a great time man Oak Park was spectacular yelli was spectacular the Phil harmonic was amazing some of the backstage sites at uh concerts in the park were incredible yeah some tremendous guests came through we had a we had a really good time it was great to see so many of you uh we hope you can come out to some of our other ksfm events and we got a lot coming up man we’ve got a Draft day party a week from Wednesday um we’ve got different concerts we’re going to be at we’re going to be back at at concerts in the park we’re going to be at the California classic representing both our stations out there so if you plan on uh pulling up we’ll be out there uh come through I don’t know where we’ll be uh but I know that they couldn’t stop us from being there and they tried uh so come through um if you’re going to the California classic we’ll be out there man it’ll be a good time the biggest Story coming out of Friday wasn’t that the boss Celtics lost game four uh or Luca Don’s performance or anything along those lines the story because the series goes on right it’s just back to Boston it’s another game to be played uh you live you live to fight another day the story is Charles Barkley Charles Barkley announced following game four that he’s going to retire after next season uh which a lot of people have forgotten Inside the NBA is on next year you saw a lot of rest in peace things even LCA donic was confused uh at one point but um I think this is the greatest indicator because there had been Rumblings uh last week and we had written them into the show and we just never really got to it I know we had addressed it a little bit before that there were Rumblings and and this is consistent with initial reports regarding NBA television contracts where that they they that they were open to a fourth partner and that TNT was making a last Stitch effort after going to get the French Open and some of the other live sporting events that they’re getting they were they were they were trying to make a last ditch e effort to keep being a partner with the NBA which would keep Inside the NBA Alive Now what’s happened between now and then is anybody’s guess there have been a variety of reports from very very connected individuals who have been on top of reporting this uh from jump saying that Amazon and NBC and even uh Disney weren’t necessarily keen on that idea is they figure like at some point we’re diluting our product by having so many Media Partners with it and regardless of where it was or where it’s at the fact that Charles Barkley announced his retirement following next season is the greatest indicator that the NBA on TNT is officially done and one way or another Inside the NBA is over because I made a case that Inside the NBA doesn’t exist without Ernie Johnson and I feel like that is true there’s no case to be made that Inside the NBA exists without Charles Barkley um so watching the tributes pour in uh following Charles’s announcement after that game uh were certainly something to see he is arguably the greatest sports broadcaster in history and the reason being is he was himself MH he was never trying to figure out how to be a broadcaster and this is where the biggest credit to TNT and Ernie Johnson and everybody involved in Inside the NBA go because it’s truly what made that show great is they never asked him to be and the fact that they just let Charles be Charles with a microphone is what made him and that show so successful yeah you talk about him being the the greatest brother broadcaster in the sports history I can’t even really think of anybody that’s close the first person that comes to mind and it’s different because it’s play byplay and all this it’s not studio um is is John Madden yeah you know uh I think about what he was able to do he was really really good um there there there have been other guys who have been good very different job yeah what John Madden does what Tony Romo does or what John Madden did excuse me what Tony Romo does it’s very different than what Charles Barkley does in the studio it’s a different type of it’s a different way of analyzing the game and and you and you talk about the the studio aspect of it there’s there’s guys who I think are are pretty good at it like they’re not on on his level or whatever but I think most of the guys on those Fox and CBS Morning postgame shows I think they’re pretty good how’s pretty good M Michael str’s pretty good Jimmy Johnson uh pretty good Terry Bradshaw when he was like in his prime was like they’re they’re all good um and even those guys on CBC uh CBS excuse me I I think they’re good but chuck chuck was Chuck was just different he was different than all those I think and and that’s the that’s the I was going to use a different word but it means essentially the same thing and this isn’t a knock on any of those guys because you’re 100% right they’re all very good Michael Stan is going there’s going to be a time where Michael Strahan’s more famous for his TV work than his football career we’re approaching that time now I don’t think we’re there yet but we’re getting very very close to to Michael Strahan crossing over into an entirely different you know oh oh boy um uh Nate brls it’s gonna be the same way yeah I 100 perc yeah completely agree but you know that they’re all you know especially when you talk about the ho’s and jimmies and and um man what Bill coward they’re good and they have their own person but they’re kind of like the same they’re they’re they’re a really good like Elite group of broadcasters but they’re all kind of you can pick and choose like it’s good whichever one there’s no one like Charles you said he’s different I was going to say he’s unique it’s the same thing like Charles is different than anyone who has uh been given the opportunity to do that job yeah yeah there the only person that I Phil is even remotely close and he’s not close uh is is probably Pedro Martinez I think Pedro Martinez is fantastic completely agree fantastic but he’s it’s baseball um it’s really just during the playoffs so you’re not he’s not in your living room you know two times a week uh the way Charles Barkley is I don’t think he’s ever going to hit that status but he when I was trying to I saw what you said and I was trying to think other guys I did think about Pedro I think like I said Pedro is fantastic on TV but it’s still even that is still like years away from Charles Mar yeah and the but but a lot with with Pedro too I think the in frequent of it is is a port a part of it but with Charles too it’s also longevity uh Charles is basketball career has remained as relevant as it is and he’s a Hall of Famer top 50 75 100 he’s going to be on the list for eternity when you’re creating top players his basketball career has been able to stay in the Forefront because of what he’s done on TV and he’s been on TV for so long uh being Charles MH being the same exact guy from the time he uh first sat down at that desk to uh announcing his upcoming retirement on Friday it’s going to create an interesting Dynamic next year the the last few uh inside shows I think are going to be really really difficult and it’s going to be this odd balance of saying goodbye to Inside the NBA and saying goodbye to Charles Barkley and and that’s a tough like Ernie’s not going anywhere right like Ernie will still be on our TV but in this form like watching Ernie you know navigate March Madness games or Major League Baseball or whatever it’s not the same the main reason it’s not the same is because Charles isn’t there right or Shaq or this combination of guys uh with Kenny and and and everyone else that have made it you know truly special it’s it’s going to be a weird tight RPP that that group has to walk to give Charles his proper goodbye knowing everybody else is probably going to go on in some form of media and continue to be around while also saying goodbye to the most iconic show in the history of the sport maybe of any sport I mean it’s it’s it’s it’s up there with you know uh you know the the the NFL shows Hard Knocks and all that like this is the the you know one of the most iconic shows in all the professional sports yeah when you talk about Studio shows I mean it’s there there’s nothing like it you know the Monday night countdown is really good but it ain’t it ain’t this um they ever ironically it feels like at least this was one of the first and kind of still one of the only postgame TV shows like that you know what I mean like you think around even Fox they don’t really do uh post game quick yeah just kind of a recap more than anything and for for all the then we got to get out to here live local news yeah the OT uh here he shout out well or sports extra Sports there we go well no foxes they’re their NFL covers the OT then they go to whatever it is out yeah but on AB on NB on CBS Sports extra um but yeah I mean it’s it’s a one of one it really feels like a one of one and you know you’re going to get these uh these type of shows um with the streaming services I think you know I think a lot of the stuff that that happens like ironically um one of the the shows or one of the sports that do it or two of them so to speak I don’t know if UFC does it much anymore but they used to do postf fight stuff and boxing does that now but it’s in a different form right like the the boxing match will air on top rank or top rank on ESPN the ESPN coverage will go off on your traditional cable and like for for postgame coverage go to the app you got the state of boxing going on and they’re on for like another 30 minutes or something like that WWE has started to do that with their press conferences right air press conferences I think they air they’ll air on the they’ll just stay on the network they’ll be on YouTube like they’ll they’ll and you you get some gems out of those like they’ve created a postgame show type thing yeah um but you you get at Thursday Night Football does that with their their broadcast um they go for 30 minutes or so afterwards but I mean that Inside the NBA is like the the only one I’ve mentioned baseball too baseball no coincidence it’s TNT and Turner and Warner and and Ramsey talks about NHL on TNT I’ve caught them a couple times during the playoffs so it seems like that’s kind of been their bag that’s what they do and it’ll be interesting to see if NBC I believe Amazon will because they already do it with football and maybe ESPN picks up and tries to do some some postgame stuff yeah when you think about I think Amazon is is really interesting because you want people on your app as long as possible so you know their you know their football stuff is they can frame it as you know we’re wait we want player interviews and they always get them but it takes time so if you’re hey we’re gonna we’re going to talk to Brock pie uh coming up here shortly well Brock’s got to go address the other media he’s got to take his pads off he’s got to do all this other stuff all the while you’ve got this great Studio show that can can can recap the games and talk about key moments and you can build you can build the the dynamic that the guys on TNT that the basketball crew on t had it’s the time to really just chill it’s the time to really stretch your legs it’s the time to have fun and it’s now once you get multiple years into this for Amazon you start creating the go fishing right you start creating those EJ’s Neato stat of the night those little benchmarks that viewers love to you know love it’s it’s like look this’s a benchmark for you know what I mean that’s why we get calls for it like like it’s it’s you there you you always want something fun uh to look forward to and it’s hard to do that in the 10 minutes that that some of these other shows do in these eight minutes that these these other shows do first and foremost a quick side note um with maybe the earliest check-in of all time and I’ll be honest with you I don’t like it Ben here at 1232 I think the official time was 12:30 said did anyone pick the Mavs to win if everyone pick w Celtics then how could that be disrespect or discrediting Ben I just don’t like you he this early I like to see Ben more so at about 130 talking about what we talked about at no yeah um you talk about benchmarks when Ben is watching uh is a great Benchmark of DLo and KC that I think always gets a a good pop out of the the chatty house well I don’t know if you ran into him but Ben was at concerence in the park on Friday I said did yeah he was in the building man I did not yeah so shout out Ben but not shout out for being here this early I need Ben’s 12 o’clock maybe 125 analysis more closer to 145 right after the 13th round airs we need to know what Ben thinks about the opening segment show um but you’re back to the point about the the shows I I I’m really kind of confused and and I know they have SVP so maybe they look at that as a post game which is a deao post game but I’m surprised that ESPN hasn’t done more like I said boxing does like The Telecast is off you want to get to your sports center I guess but if you want like an a post game show yeah go live to the app and and check it out there I might have an answer to the SVP thing it’s a guess but knowing the network a little bit they are so hung up on the name Sports Center and like I’ve always believed Michael and jam show would have worked the six would have worked if you hadn’t called it Sports Center the six essentially worked when it was his and hers but when you brand something Sports Center man that’s a that’s a tough that’s a tough rope to walk and when you put something else in place when they’re used to Sports Center being there that’s tough so you just have Scott Van Pelt do a postgame show and you just say it’s Scott Vel sports center right like he’s almost enhanced the brand of sports center because he’s so good and his show is so unique to him right but you know following an NBA game he’s he’s the one who’s going to get you know the guy on the headsets he’s gonna talk to you know Jaylen Brunson or or or the different guys and I I you you mentioned it’s a deao postgame show legs comes on they they do like 30 minutes of coverage but I think they call it Sports Center because they’re so afraid to deviate from that name of sports center that the the um you know the old school ESPN Enthusiast will be like Hey where’s Sports Center well no it’s just NBA it’s it’s Scott vanel sports no I want Sports Center yeah dude this is this what this is no where’s Sports Center all right bro so they just kept it as that and I think Scott does a magnificent job um and I actually really like Tim legler too yeah I I like I like their coverage I think they do a good job I’m in the minority probably with the the countdown crew or all this other stuff like I think they’re fine when they’re given the opportunity to talk I I always said it’s not the people on the show it’s the fact that they can’t they can’t express anything for more than 10 seconds we gonna have to disagree who don’t you like Bob Myers well the good point not Myers is terrible Malika fine and in that in that setting I don’t mind Stephen A either it’s when Stephen A is just left to talk about other stuff that drives me crazy like but I like on that show like he’s fine and um I love I’m I love I love Michael wilbon but you know yeah I know you didn’t you ain’t got to say it okay you ain’t got to say it it’s okay we’re on the same okay I I mean I do I do like you guys could be better I mean they they they could be better um but I guess I I I I don’t know I feel like they have they have just been battling you know since your boy overtook that show and it was him and jayen and uh they had Beetle on there for a minute they had they had magic there it was it was it was basically Bill Simmons and friends is essentially what that show was and it was like man this I remember Bill like oh do I get to talk now can I talk like oh Jesus Christ bro you’re on a Podium with Irvin no you can’t shut the hell up um I feel like they’ve been chasing their tail ever since then it was a lot like their Monday night uh football crew they seem to have settled in on a Monday night countdown crew and a uh I forgot the name of their show but the one that they do on Sunday is it okay um which is actually pretty good I like yeah it’s not Rex does a lot when Rex starts calling players and Coach is trash that’s Rex does a little too much but to to be to be fair I mean maybe just you know he’s not your other people’s coup of tea but he does like a Charles Barkley like thing on show I knew I knew I I so I’m I’m glad you said that because my vision that ESP meeting went with we want you to be our Charles Barkley and every other meeting is we want him to be our Charles Barkley he’s the Charles Barkley of the show he’s the guy who calls Brock pie Trash he’s the guy who says uh uh uh Kyle shannan’s a trash play caller like all of these like overthe toop like okay I I don’t I just I don’t love that but that aspect is is over the top like he don’t have to go there but he he’s he says I I believe you know maybe there’s some instances maybe where he’s putting on a show or something like that but I believe he just says what he what he feels you know what I mean and and sometimes he goes too far with saying how he feels but he he’s that type of character on there and I I don’t he he adds whatever he adds to I’m not I think Randy Moss is like great like that’s the guy I like really good that’s the guy I like the most on there and then uh Ponder I think she does a great job as a host as well so those are the two stars for me on that one but I think that show is really good and if I’m up Sunday morning getting ready for football I usually go to them before anybody else NFL network is cool too but I I go to them before before anybody El and that’s a I I I think a lowkey and and and and it’s why I was just so adamant it’s not inside the NBA without Ernie you know if he Teddy brus you know who’s who’s actually like pretty good on that show is uh Alex Smith yeah Alex Smith is does a good job on there yeah Alex Smith is really good um but I think having a having a good host to navigate all of that stuff and put Maybe a little biased but put you know everyone in the in the position to succeed and and look good it’s your point guard man it’s your point guard yeah who um nobody’s gonna be Charles Barkley I wanna I want to make that perfectly clear at least in my opinion but who do you think is is next who do you think can be that next guy I think uh I think the the the closest person I can answer and I wouldn’t have said this if you asked me at the end of his playing career because I just didn’t if you asked me at the beginning of his broadcasting career i’ have been like I don’t think that’s going to work is Shaq I didn’t think Shaq was going to work um Shaq like now Shaq’s not going to be Charles but as like a a you know a guy at the closest one now the thing would be you’d have to get him in a scenario that’s not ESPN countdown right or uh NBA Countdown where he have to get him on another Network yeah you know he needs some time to say what he has to say that’s why I think he does as well as he does on the first takes and you know in in those shows when he has a little more time even when he’s on uh NBA today you know he he does he has those moments as well but I think I think perk uh might be in line to be that one they I know everybody talk about Draymond Draymond doesn’t even need to be Draymond don’t even need to be mentioned with Austin Rivers let alone Charles and Shaq Draymond Draymond so Draymond is so busy trying to get himself over MH like to you know we always use wrestling terms like he’s trying to make sure everyone knows he’s the star he wants everyone to know how smart he is he also wants you to know who he hates and as long as that’s the ca he’s never going to be good at this they could put Vancouver riot after they lost game seven they got a 30 for 30 on that was pretty interesting it was probably about 15 minutes too long but that was crazy that was first of all it was an insane amount of people out downtown to watch that game like it was we talk about game one of the Kings Warrior series and everybody in doco it was probably like 15 to 20 times more people than that downtown it was insane and yeah I I remember when when that happened um I was like these people were kind of wild for that they were wild but it just talked about it was really centered around like the people who got caught because of social media and that was like early social media 2011 they’re taking pictures and stuff like that they tried to paint themselves as like I was just a regular person and got caught up in the mob mentality like tried to and and then the people were so mean to me and where were they on January 6 we need to check some of their I don’t think they were here but I don’t think they were in America but you never know never know you never know but they were like yeah just just got you know people were so mean afterwards they did the the same evil thing I’m like no bro you got what you deser there was so disgusting that’s funny seeing those people tear up that City and do that I almost felt like they should reopen that investigation for that from that uh 30 for30 and if they found somebody on that 30 for 30 go get them again and give them whatever whether it’s time in jail whether it’s uh you know fines or something like that go go get the look at some of these people that you missed the first time this is ridiculous oh absolutely if there’s anyone you miss go back and get them yeah that’s a that’s 100% it I always find those types of things fascinating I’ve read a lot about riots in watts in Los Angeles and you know different riots throughout the history of our country in the civil rights movement and you see um you see the commonality in every single one of them there is a commonality in all of them never once was it their team lost never that was crazy and little I didn’t know this I remember 2011 and what happened after that finals I didn’t know they did the same thing in 94 I didn’t learn that until watching the doc that they so this so basically a lot of people were like in Vancouver were like you guys did this again like I I think leading up to that game seven the news was talking talking about it like hey last time they had a game seven here in 94 there was riots after the loss da d d and they were just kind of telling the story people tried to say they ignited it or whatever by continuing to bring that up like no they it was topical right it was like last time we had a game seven we lost this is what happened downtown that’s why the news and the media were bringing it up and then as it was happening those you know radio show hosts and other people are like I can’t believe you guys are doing this again I can’t believe sure that you know Gino knew and like but essentially in the league like everyone knew so she didn’t feel the need to like come out and that was always the thing about like birdie in that League she was very um you know some people made it a point to talk about their sexuality because of the the the conversation around that League especially at that time she almost made it a point not to but she never felt like she was avoiding it because she didn’t feel like she was in the closet so to speak right and she said it was her relationship with Megan rapino that was like Megan was of the mindset if people are still dying because they’re gay they need to know that you’re gay and that’s what changed her mind and then you know of course she has the greatest coming out of all party of all time because she comes out and says she gay which again I think a lot of people knew but it’s all by the way I’m with the biggest soccer star on the planet and they just instantly became like the couple and I don’t mean this in any sort of demeaning way whatsoever but birdie street cred shot through the roof when she was public with Megan rapino and now even years after that relationship being public Brandon Ingram a Max contract a Max contract at this point that he’s eligible for is four years 208 the the the the framing of that is changing a little bit is I guess they’re just looking for different ways to say the same things is I was reading uh an article to to to today that said well the Pelicans aren’t really interested in paying uh Brandon Ingram a contract that’s worth roughly $52 million a year it’s the exact same thing as saying they don’t want to pay him a Max contract and it’s like okay New Orleans doesn’t want to pay him a Max contract fine what do they want to pay him and how does that affect how Brandon Ingram approaches this moment right now in the next eight months or so and then my other question was and this is the one I’m really unclear on because the market when you use the term like the market it can literally mean one team I don’t know I’m completely unclear on what the market is for Brandon Ingram because any I would think any trade that is done for Brandon Ingram is done with the idea that Brandon Ingram is going to be a long-term King uh Blaker son whoever whatever team he’s traded to he but how many teams are like oh yeah four years 208 for bi that’s nothing in the current climate of salary cap and and apron one apron 2 multiple tax penalties all of those types of different things losing um the ability to sign uh buyout players losing the ability uh to have a certain level of the the the midlevel all of those things are are are going to start taking a greater factor in the in the in the coming years just as the cap is going up but we we joke about that but remember when the cap goes up salaries go up as well it’s not just like all of a sudden hey these teams have $ more million dollar to spend it’s like yeah they do but it’s almost all allocated already it’s going to their max players it’s going to these different guys so I’m not sure if New Orleans is is hesitant or perhaps just completely unwilling to offer Brandon Ingram a year $28 million extension what teams aren’t hesitant and how many are there that’s the that’s the part I keep getting stuck on because we’ve had the discussion correct me if I’m wrong you you do it you would you would you you you’d go so far as to take the risk of we’ll do the we’ll do the deal without the seaka wink wink we’ll do the deal a little bit more on the on the edge of the danger of losing him right we’ll do it with the with with the Paul George idea we’re going GNA win him over we’re g to keep him and he’s GNA sign here depending on what you got to give up right right because it wouldn’t right do that with Keegan Murray and they did and I think think of course not and I think that conversation with the two teams is different we we we always point to this one because we believe that it’s accurate the Pacers and the Raptors knew what time it was when it came to Pascal SE yakum everyone was comfortable they can do the little public song and dance that they’re supposed to do everyone was comfortable with that trade because of what the expectations moving forward were if there are no expectations Beyond we’ll say a four-month run or or even we go even further the trade’s done July 4th there’s there’s there’s no uh uh expectations Beyond a uh a seven or eight month run the trade is different and New Orleans will under has to understand that Sacramento will obviously approach it that way and that leaves a season to win him over but where I was going you’re fine with and and I don’t know that this is the exact number but I believe that it would be you’re fine with get him here take the risk offer him four years 208 I I I am if he’s willing to sign like yeah like let’s let’s let’s do it and I wonder how many are that that that’s my that’s that’s that’s my question you’re not general manager Kenny care away your radio show I wonder if Monty is I wonder how many general managers in the league look at Brandon Ingram and go in this current state that we’re at and can we go four years 208 with Brandon Ingram yeah it’s it’s it is a roll of the dice I look at um this season for Brandon Ingram being a hell of a contract year for him you know because if he say he gets say he gets traded to the Kings and you know maybe they do the deal for without the wink wink right they just take the chance and see if they can win him over or whatever the case may be Brandon Ingram he’s gonna have to to to your point with not knowing what the market might be for him he’s gonna have to ball out in a major way whether he wants to stay in Sacramento or not because if he say for instance he doesn’t want to stay in Sacramento he still has to show the rest to the league that he’s can stay healthy can play on a high level and be worth that $200 million contract that he’s looking for you know if he wants the Kings to give it to him he’s got to show them that he’s capable of being somebody worthy of that type of deal so same thing if he goes to Cleveland or anything else like that it’s going to be a major major season for Brandon Ingram because even if um I I don’t typically know how these things go necessarily but if the Kings talked to Brandon Ingram and we’re like we’re willing to give you a four-year $28 million contract and he has an injury plague season and you know things aren’t working out and everybody in the league is like look man we’ll give him three years0 million like why would the Kings be like no we’re going to give them four years to away they probably say the same thing like we’ll give you three years 135 I guess or 150 to make sure you stay here but you haven’t shown that you’re worthy of the $200 million contract we’ll give you more than others but I don’t know you you had a contract year where you couldn’t stay healthy you couldn’t play well whatever the case may be I don’t think that’s the case I think Brandon Ingram is gonna be good wherever he’s at next year I think he’s gonna play at a high level and I think he’s going to show that he’s worth that type of contract but you just you just never know like he’s got a com into the the season anticipating it’s not a foregone conclusion he gets $200 million deal for the record I feel like he’s in New Orleans this year at least until February I don’t think he’s getting traded before the season um just my opinion I I could be wrong if it’s the Sacramento I really hope I’m wrong you said a moment ago in that hypothetical you presented where you were chastising Brandon Ingram you said he didn’t stay healthy in this hypothetical what what tell me in a number of games what that entails for Brandon Ingram for for you to consider Brandon Ingram to be healthy 82 Game season I’m looking at I’m looking at 70 72 games Brandon Ingram has played over 70 games you said 72 one time in his career was his rookie year 64 games last year MH uh 45 the year prior I think we’re getting into 75 game or 72 game Seasons here where he was at 55 and 61 wait how many seasons were there there were two two check that 55 I believe is an 82 Game season 61 and 62 I believe were 72 game Seasons 52 59 were back to the rookie year of 79 and he’s never played more than 65 games than to qualify now for allba that’s that’s what I was going to say it doesn’t really help the argument but I’ll even be generous and say all right play enough so you’re eligible for postseason the 65 missed it by one game this year and he’s still not necessarily doing that the the interesting thing about that with Brandon Ingram is like a lot of people are locked in to like yeah bring in Brandon Ingram here which I’m one of those people I like him but the same people will tell you Zack LaVine get hurt too much and makes too much money like the the thought is Brandon Ingram you’d eventually be paying more money for more years for a guy that’s injured just as often if not more than Zack LaVine but everybody’s okay with that deal or that acquisition I’m okay with them both to be honest with you but they they’ got the same issues you and Willie you guys loves they got the they they got the same exact issues 25 games it’s it’s a it’s actually a little different for Zach that I think the biggest difference with LaVine and this is one thing that really really stands out for Brandon Ingram man it feels like his NBA career has been an eternity between the Lakers stuff uh New Orleans the waiting for Zion the potential with Zion and now this moment that we’re in right now Brody is 26 years old that’s crazy Brandon Ingram is 20 6 years old Zack LaVine isn’t uh significantly older but he is 28 years old I think what scares people the most is he played 25 games last year however he played 77 the year before that’s more than Ingram has played in any year but one 67 that’s again I think that’s more than any year Ingram played except for one uh 58 in a 72 60 in a 72 and then then you you know then you have some tough ones with uh you have the 63 24 47 he played 82 games his second year 77 his first uh so he had a stretch where it you know it got tough he played 77 games in 82 games his first two years uh got hurt things got a little dicey he he in in the closest he returned to form in terms of the amount of games that he played was the 2223 season uh where he played 7 seven and of course last year was tough where he only played 25 MH it’s damn near the Spider-Man me man with these two um I actually I think you could make a fair argument that Zack LaVine plays more but he is two years older than Brandon Ingram so is this Brandon Ingram the rest of his career or does he you know does he you know not a lot of guys find that Grant Hill Fountain of Youth that Grant Hill found in Phoenix of course not in not didn’t mean to imply that Brandon Ingram is hurt to the level that that that that Grant Hill was at all but still it’s something and and that’s where the confusion from on my part of what the market holds for Brandon Ingram comes from is do teams look at you want all NBA money you literally can’t make an all NBA team and that and and and if I’m a general manager that’s that’s a line that’s in my head you’re asking for an all-nba contract I believe you have all-nba talent you can’t play enough to make an all NBA team we’re not only trying to make the and we’ll use Sacramento as the example because let’s be honest that’s what we’re talking about we’re not trying to make the playoffs and snap a 16-year playoff draft we already did that we’re trying to advance in the playoffs we’re trying to create an NBA championship contender if you’re playing 64 games is that enough is Brandon Ingram playing 64 games with now Harrison Barnes gone and Kevin herder gone or however you want to make this deal work does that make you a a threat in the Western Conference does that make you a team that can win a playoff series multiple playoff rounds that does it does that make you a team that can compete for a championship and at 64 games of course the timing of the injury is you know the timing of something that keeps you out is very important as we learned you know with the guy who missed the last 10 games of the season I don’t know yeah I don’t know what the answer is the um Matthew’s mattress shatty house going up right now um sauren Smith says LaVine and Ingram are different positions not a huge margin on their height but I’d rather have the taller wing and Ingram I understand that for sure um Tim Richards says Ingram is younger and on a different level if I was to CH if it was one or the other i’ take Iram I disagree with that I don’t think he’s on a different level I think I think people are kind of selling Zack LV short the type of basketball player and the the level of player is this is a two-time Allstar Brandon Ingram’s a onetime Allstar um Brandon Ingram have I I’m not being as smartass I don’t remember does Brandon Ingram have him gold medal I don’t think he’s I don’t know I don’t think he to the Olympics yeah I don’t think he does Z LaVine does have a gold medal um so I mean he was looked at as we talked about the Olympic team and all this other he was looked at by them whether it was because of people dropping out or not committing or whatever as they’re like hey we need to get the goal let’s go get I don’t have any USA Basketball accomplishments for for Brandon NR so I I think they’re I don’t say that to diminish Brandon Ingram I it’s more of a big up to Zack LaVine to say they are on the I think the same Level Playing Field I think they’re the same uh tier of player I like Brandon Ingram a lot the other thing that we mentioned is we talk about Zack lavine’s contract and for all the concerns the injury concerns and all this other stuff and if they’re the same level of player Brandon Ingram you would actually be adding more money and more years onto the Zack LaVine contract that you are so afraid of by getting Brandon Ingram right Zack if able to resign him Zack lavine’s got I think two years left you had two more years in probably 50 60 more million more dollars total uh no it’d be 104 probably yeah if it’s two more years un unless you unless you didn’t sign a Max contract I was just thinking because uh Zack LaVine I think is scheduled to make like 43 million or something like that uh Brandon Ingram would be making like 50 million right yeah so annually another 10 million a year just the year yeah here for the ex he’s here two extra years yeah now now that you put it that way you’re like 120 yeah yeah the Brandon Ingram looking at John Collins too because if you can trade Barnes and Sasha I feel like John Collins would be a perfect fit round of bonus and if you do get kma he’ll be a good playmaker for uh yeah he’d be a good playmaker you know and uh John Collins he a good rebounder he average one block a game he’s like he’s G scored like I feel like he could fill in her bench and monk stays or goes so I don’t know what you guys think I think he’ll be a big help I know they said that uh he make like 26 million but if you just switching out Barnes and Sasha I don’t think it’s really a big hit though and it’s only for two years so that’s a name I appreciate you Buddha as always my man um that’s a name name that is entering the conversation a little later than I expected the John Collins he he’s one that I feel like kings fans have really liked um maybe they’re maybe they’re off that train a little bit um I got to admit I was never the biggest John Collins guy I didn’t understand the the idea of him being here um you know everybody’s got a price like you know tell tell me what it is and I’ll tell you if I’m on board for it uh but I expected that name to pop up a little bit sooner in conversation who is John Collins in the league like what kind of role do you think he plays is he a star is he a role player not like I know he’s not a star but like like what what is he is he he’s a he’s a good role player like he doesn’t play the same type of basketball is he even a Kyle kman type no no he doesn’t he doesn’t play the same type of basketball but I could see him in the in the right situation being what PJ Washington has been to Dallas like he’s that level of talent um and if he gets in the right role with the right team he can Excel so and this is where I get stuck with with John Collins right now is I don’t exactly know what they were doing in Utah and I hated that Atlanta team like that Atlanta the team he was on before didn’t make any sense to me and I think that impacted him especially when you you know not just Trey but when you you know you’ve got bogy there and dejon and you all of a sudden it’s like what the hell what is John Collins roll in all of this and eventually they move off from him so that could play a factor in what we’ve seen you know again I I think you said this perfectly comparing him to PJ Washington in the right situation this is what he could be um people I think thought PJ would probably be a step down from what he was in Charlotte because he’s on a better team and his role is going to be different and maybe scoring wise he did take a step down but he’s been a significantly more impact impactful player because of his skill set has been needed both through the regular season and and and through these playoffs up to this point where we’ve got game five tonight and that’s certainly what you would hope with any contending team or team trying to contend who acquires John Collins yeah I I like John Collins here in Sacramento as a move if that’s if that’s the oh you traded the pick and you know in in your assets to acquire John Collins or create space so you can get John Collins and then that’s it and you try to sign Mal leik Monk and all this I don’t like it in that respect I like him as an additional move to like if you got kman kma’s the one koosman’s the number one pick for me that the kosman deal is number one so so before play with your wording for a second again wording kma’s the move or a move he’s the move he’s the move that at at the at the end of the off season obviously resigning Malik monk too but yo you upgraded you got Kyle kman here to start at the four or the three whatever you want to say and brought Malik monk back and now let’s let’s cook let’s cook he’s the move if you added John Collins like after all your assets were done with whatever you have to use to get Kyle kosma and you’re able to use the rest of your assets to go get John Collins cool that’d be great that that’d be great but if put that in not in reverse because you wouldn’t be getting kozma but like take kosma out and put John Collins in there and you use your primary assets to go get John Collins I’m not a fan of that one I’m not a fan lot of people think he’s a fit I I don’t think so I people were talking about like these these Rim protecting centers and power forwards and stuff like that like this goes back to what I was saying you can’t take away from the offense you can’t take away from the dynamic ability to be able to shoot at four of the five starting positions um and knock down the three ball and spread the floor for Fox spread the floor for sabonis and things of that nature that’s the way I would build this team you can’t take away from that what would that number look like then for a player in that position right if we’re talking about someone in a four let’s say you want more rebounding but you’ve got to you’ve got to be able to have that offense what’s the number of and this is a a super generic way to pose this question and have this conversation but what’s the number of Threes per game you want that player to comfortably be able to take um probably five to six okay five to six threes a night be able to shoot Collins pretty much lives at about three and a half yeah for me for me personally and and just and for him to be guy teams he was but that’s that’s Utah right you know and that’s um Atlanta where everyone shot threes yeah for him to be your you know big offseason acquisition I wouldn’t want that if he was part of an offseason where you you know upgraded that roster sure absolutely I I would take take a chance on him but career 35% last year 37% he did have have a career high in 201920 at 40% John Collins also I mean if if that’s the move like 26 years old also by the way I’m probably keeping my pick I’m probably not giving up give up the first round pick for he’s not well to me he’s not good enough to give up the first round pick K kosma is I agree so I then if I think K kma I don’t know I I be clear though I don’t know give up anything else like I whatever like salary I have to make work but I don’t know that I give up much else like like if I look at kosma as being better for this team better fit better ball player John Collins don’t get the same trade proposal as Kyle kman from me so but I I want want to reiterate though I do like the idea of him being on the team we’ll have some fun with the Kevin herder stuff what if it was a straight swap herder and Collins that’d be fine yeah that’s easy yeah that’d be fine okay no problem are we that out on what Kevin herder can do offensively I’m not but it seems like the writing’s on the wall it seems like the coach well that’s right that’s the on him I I I still if I wasm or I was a coach I still have a little more faith in Kevin herder than than maybe others offensively I think he can still play well but I’m more in on Keon and Malik monk then like those are the two guys I’m Runing with what if Malik’s gone does anyone’s opinion change on Kevin herder if Malik monk isn’t here Kevin herder could stick around but I don’t like the idea that Kevin herder fills that Malik monk role because Malik monk does so much more than that like I’ve kind of seen that around like I don’t think Kevin her like that like you don’t keep Kevin hert around to like fill that role or whatever no he can’t fill that role but can you afford to lose him because I think uh I think uh an important component to the end of last season that is really commonly ignored is hey you know Malik goes out Malik goes out Malik goes out Kings really Struggle No Kevin was out too and the depth that that position was completely wiped out Kevin herder can’t F the role that Malik monk has but that but losing everything you had at that position particularly scoring wise is brutal yeah um he can score for you though if you lose monk doesn’t that give Monty Moore incentive to just be even more aggressive that he is or whatever because if you if you lose Monk and you got Hur her around like that team’s not doing anything oh no I agree like he you almost your your hand is kind of forced like you have to do something at that point Kevin her I think is kind of involved in that okay yeah I I I think Kevin herder is involved in it if you’re talking Kyle kosma or Zack LaVine or you’re talking someone who can score or be a playmaker I mean they probably go hand inand at the level in which M can uh but if you’re looking to bolster the roster I don’t don’t know that Kevin can be a part of that the crazy thing about that um that proposed Kyle kmail I think Matt George talked about maybe it was going around well there was another locked on one that he had it was a locked on one and then there was a Bleacher Report one as well um you didn’t like you didn’t trade Kevin herder in those that would be I I would do that I would like I would be perfectly fine with um trading for kosma using a 13th pick um I would try not to have Davon and Tre in there maybe get Sasha in there for one of the two or or for for Tre or something like that but try and work that out and then still be able to keep Harrison Barnes and uh Kevin Hur her to either be on your roster or you still have them as assets moving forward that that would be that’ be a fantastic scenario fantastic just gonna need Mike to love Kevin a little bit season hasn’t they they haven’t played a West Coast team I don’t think they have uh at all except for the Sparks that was it I don’t even remember that one but if you say it happened it happened they played at Staples and Caitlin hit like a game ceiling three oh okay now I remember it yeah yeah now I remember um unfortunately this this this was this was a hell of a basketball game between two teams that are they’re struggling uh both of them are uh and it and and I thought as soon as it happened I’m like nah they can’t react to this one this one’s she Angel made a play for the ball she hit she hit Caitlyn in the head and that’s a flagrant one isn’t about like in hint like she hit her in the head like it’s flagrant one like the only as Jill a pointed out the only one who doesn’t get flagrance for hits in the head of sabonis that’s a fact so unless her name was Caitlyn sabonis that was going to be a a flagrant foul that’s normally the call there was nothing malicious about it that in in fact if you’ve paid a smidge bit of attention to Angel Reese that’s one of her flaws she picked up three fouls in that quarter she made a play she missed I she just couldn’t get to it right like she commits fouls that you I think when you look back you go her next one was way worse where she she ran up to close out on Caitlyn and for whatever she put both of her hands on her like almost around her waist you’re gonna get called for that that was her third foul that quarter it was her fourth foul in that game she wound up playing you know most of the fourth quarter with five fouls which has been my number one frustration with Angel Reese is that she just can’t she she plays in a way that’s she just plays in a way that’s going to get her whistles but there was nothing like crazy about the play and sure enough I saw Bleacher Report push it out I was like all right they’re not going to bite then I saw tweet after tweet after tweet about angel and suspend her and bad for the league and Chicago doing and all of this it’s like oh my God all right man and then Caitlyn downplayed it Angel Angel’s I think Angel was frustrated because that that last night had to have been like her fifth or sixth game with five fouls I don’t think she’s fouled out of a game yet but she’s teetered that line a lot to where um Teresa Witherspoon has to make a decision on how much she can play in the fourth quarter and I think she was frustrated about the way fouls are called against her in less about that particular play um but the reaction to it again because I guess it’s Caitlyn versus Angel was absurd the uh there was there was hell of a game too that got overshadowed by that and people always you know look for the story the same storyline what uh Caitlyn played really well in that game had some had some big moments in that game and Angel like the frustrating thing with Angel tooo is like she um she puts up good numbers and has an impact and she still got a lot of work to do on her game man like what last night I think she was like 14 13 and did she had 14 last night like her her ability and we we have um said this from jump her ability to get her hands on the ball is it could approach like legendary status like she is really special in that regard she’s got to find a touch like her a lot of bunnies yeah her her shooting percentage is is maddening um she’s got to find a touch and then if she can get the whether it’s because I don’t think it’s like physicality like the the the close out on Caitlyn wasn’t physical you just can’t do that and like you could get away with like one on the hip I don’t think you can’t get away with both and it’s like she has a lot of those so a I’ve said this and I’ll continue to say Angel’s already better than I thought she would be if she develops a touch she like if Angel develops a touch around the rim she’s gonna be like special like she could be a like she I never thought she could be an Allstar she could absolutely be an All-Star not shooting 30% she can but she misses way too many bu if she finds a if she finds a touch man she’s she’ll be one of the League’s top players I think the um but you know she he finished with good numbers um in that game in a close game and you know there’s there’s so many things going on with this game I understand why people want to see the fever in the sky want to see Angel and Caitlin like I I I get it I’m I’m intrigued by it I not acting above anything but Andrea Carter had a great line um this morning on first take where she said essentially these two teams are having a mid-off she said they’re eighth and Ninth in the yeah WNBA we’re sitting here talking about it on first take we we wouldn’t be talking about they’re not this bad but we wouldn’t be talking about a Hornets Wizards match up regardless of who the rookies were pretty damn close you know what I mean and she’s like these are two teams that she wasn’t saying it like to be mean she was just like they’re not some of the upper echelon teams right now they’re not really good teams and well we’re we’re spending spending a lot of time on on these two teams she’s right to be fair we covered an entire season of the Spurs right like and and what did we do event me and you me well but that was me and you that was me and you I don’t think that was everybody I mean and there were time look I think and I can’t remember the because he had several and I guess this is why you do it it was like all right and I think we had the we’re done can we put on League patch put on something else and uh mainly Caitlyn like they don’t talk that much about angel unless she’s playing I think they do well I’m talking about like ft like they don’t oh in those type of shows like they don’t have segments or centered around her if it’s not involved with Caitlyn if you’re one of those people who are constantly talking about this Caitlyn Clark rookie season everything that’s going on and you’re watching your first takes or whatever you have eliminated yourself from ever complaining about ESPN talking about the Lakers and the Warriors talk about it you because we the people will talk the Lakers are a tene why are they talking about them all this other stuff this Indiana team isn’t very good NOP and Caitlyn is having a good rookie season but she’s not Asia Wilson she’s not the best player in the league and so why a story we need to talk about right why every week do we have to deal with a new fever Caitlyn Clark Story the reason why would be people are watching it and it’s the same argument for the Lakers Warriors Yankees Red Sox but that’s my problem I don’t know the numbers I don’t have the numbers I don’t I don’t know if the numbers are out yet I feel like the people who reacted did was that’s why Monica mcnut has been banished because she pointed out bro you ain’t watching you’re out here faking it you’re not watching these two teams you’re formulate an opinion based on social media based on the different people that you follow based on the different things that you see you’re not formulating opinion based on this game I guarantee you there isn’t one person who who who commented on on social media about angel Reese that could tell you that she’s picked up 5,000 in like half or three quarters of the games that they played that she’s not an overly physical player they couldn’t tell you that because they’re not watching and that’s the weird part about this boom that the w NBA’s experiences because they’re experiencing a real life boom and then they’re experiencing this very weird social media boom and you could determine whether that’s good or it’s bad because it’s taken on this weird dynamic of black versus white and MAA and Democrat and all of these like weird little things that I I’ve pointed this out several times Caitlyn hasn’t had a misstep yet people say Caitlyn’s got to say this got to say that did she talked she was asked directly about them using her name and and in in in different arguments about race and gender and all of that stuff she addressed it she was asked well that angel Reese flagrant foul she was like it was basketball play she was going for the ball I just I what you think about the flagrant foul I needed to make the two free throws like she hasn’t bit on any of this um and and to to like a certain degree I don’t think Angel has either like Angel’s responses have been a little bit different but I don’t really have a problem with the with the one specific line she used about uh they’re watching all of us it was game one Stephen A Smith Goes On First Take and says I owe an apology to Dear Fox I was n familiar this ISU this really happened for people who don’t don’t realize he the the the guy who basically leads ESPN’s media coverage after game one of the playoffs it’s like I wasn’t familiar with de fo does anyone at all believe that that game wasn’t the first time Stephen A Smith sat down and watched dearon Fox and the Sacramento Kings no no so why the hell am I going to believe he’s waking up on Sunday morning to watch Caitlyn Clark and Angel Reese or anything involved in the WNBA or anything that doesn’t involve the Lakers which he’s gonna have to talk 40 minutes about or or or the Cowboys or whoever it doesn’t and there’s no greater example than the dearon fox example you didn’t know dearon was good prior to that game mind you don’t forget don’t forget he had played 82 he was an all NBA player I wasn’t familiar with that brother’s game no you just told us you just told us you’re not watching Dear had a phenomenal game one had 14 games in the regular season like that some of them were on your network yeah and you didn’t know but I’m supposed to believe you’re familiar with Angel Reese’s game or Kennedy Carter’s game I’m not I’m not it right and that is I think the bulk of the conversation is people who are pretending they’re familiar with something because they saw it on social media and they’re not and this isn’t just Angel Reese I think or the the the WNBA this is life people go to social media when they want to learn something and it is the worst place on the planet to try to learn something yeah it’s just try to and and once again I’m not going to act holier than now I see something on Twitter time to time I just kind of roll with it without doing the research I try to make sure if I see yeah you got got a couple times we remember well that was you can find those on YouTube that just pop up randomly I don’t know I don’t know how those things pop up but uh yeah you know but you know you try to look at that and and see things like oh okay well hopefully it Sparks like more research on it right like if you you see something about this player I don’t know you know being the first player to do this oh well okay well when were the other times or who’s the other person or something like that it just doesn’t typically happen that way yeah but um yeah I I I I think I would like for us as a basketball watching public as a sports um uh Sports Community to get past this point at some point and just kind of watch the games I do it myself like I I don’t I kind of tune out the noise it doesn’t doesn’t really bother me I just watch the league and enjoy the league I just watch an Indiana Fever game and and enjoy the game and enjoy Caitlyn same with the sky and the Sparks and everybody else but I do see like oh here we go again it’s leading Sports Center talking about this play and it’s just like I hope we get past this at some point uh I hope we do um I’m uh a little suspect I’m trying to I’m going to go this this to to me was by far the most amazing clip of the weekend the aces currently stink and it’s bizarre to watch and this is Angel ree in the postgame press conference after they had just lost to New York I think the liberty and here’s a here’s Asia Asia Wilson I’m gonna go out there and I’m gonna try to be the best I get y’all saying best player in the world that’s crazy and for those who aren’t watching she’s very emotional like that’s that’s that’s not the sound of like she is she is just completely broken up at the way that her team is y’all saying best player in the world that’s great it looks great but I want to be the best person I want to be the best teammate because that’s how I get the best out of my team so when it comes to wins losses when I tell you I break this game down piece by piece because I I don’t want to be great for you guys no offense but I want to be great for my team I want to be great for this franchise it is hard as [ __ ] it is hard as [ __ ] your Fox can’t say I it so what what got me remember no no what got me is I purposely looked for the the fox one because I had seen the what’s said later we’ll just ditch that uh the gist of it though is one that’s my Superstar right there give me a player who acts like that when her team is like six and six and has already won two titles and has already won you know multiple MVPs give me that yeah the story of the NBA season excuse me the story of the WNBA season is that woman who was just sitting at that Podium with tears running down her eyes talking about being the best person I’ve never heard a single person on the planet say that Asia Wilson isn’t an amazing person um that woman right there is the best player on the planet right now best player on the planet and maybe the best leader on the planet and that’s that is a winning mentality that’s a winning mindset that’s infectious to a locker room Las Vegas is unbelievably talented Becky Hammond is a is a great coach um Chelsea Gray Kelsey Plum you know Jackie young these are great players but it’s no coincidence that they have been as good as they have been not just in the championship season but when they fell a little short they’re still a really good team it’s nool coincidence that they’ve been that good and that successful with that lady in the locker room and leading things she is um we I think we compared her to Jesse to to Patrick Mahomes last week and man like that’s accurate because Patrick Mahomes was in the league for like two and a half minutes before they said you know this guy could wind up being the greatest of all time this woman has been in the league far longer than that and I can tell you she’s going to be in the conversation of the greatest of all time she she’s a winning she’s a winning basketball player simple she’s averaging and I think this is part of what’s behind those tears that she was uh shedding over the weekend is that team is six and six she’s averaging 28 and 11 and a half that is goodness insane man especially for a six and six basketball team she’s shooting 51% from the field she’s shooting 43% from three she’s shooting 85% from the line those are her numbers this year they’re not six and six because she’s falling short but it’s Hey look it’s it’s part of the season it’s part of the story if you’re going to cover the league you can cover Caitlyn if you feel you have to to to have a weird angle to it fine you got to cover Angel that’s great make sure you’re covering Asia Wilson absolutely because if her we’d be looking at a historic season yeah um if it wasn’t drowned out by the confusion that her team’s a little bad right now and we’re not used to seeing that with Asia and we’re certainly not used to seeing that with the Las Vegas Aces who I think have lost the same amount of games right now 12 games into this season than they lost all of last season tough man tough but they I mean with somebody like Asia right there they’ll figure something out I got no doubt my mind that they’ll figure something out to turn this thing around maybe hold it down until uh Chelsea gets back and you know they can get back to their winning ways that’s that’s just the type of leader uh that they they have in that locker room does bring up an like when is Chelsea coming back no I don’t know I have no idea all right that’s kind of crazy I got a quick question I’m G watch that story a little closer I got a quick question for you that maybe you could help um a debate that I had most the Saturday morning that was it had different players to I was a part of that debate the Undertaker is top 10 no matter how much that was Saturday afternoon oh okay all right all right just make it sure does the WNBA make a profit right now no they so are you asking my they don’t they so like uh the 2023 season 2024 season are they gonna make a profit as a league no no they I don’t think the league has ever made a profit they have the league as a in its totality I don’t individual teams have and do um the league as a whole no I think I know the number of the amount I just I just read an article on this um because their TV rights and I don’t think you and I talked about this I don’t even know that I knew this until like two weeks ago because we were we marveled at Adam Silver’s Brilliance when we found out the international television deals are expiring as the same time as the domestic televis deals the WNBA deals are up too and they’re all getting negotiated at the same time and there’s a belief that the WNBA is gonna like quadruple their media rights deals um and I think in the article that the the total loss for the league I think is 50 million that’s that that’s something that I saw on Friday as well and and I didn’t I didn’t know if they were I was there is a long discussion about why this conversation happened with a couple of the homies or whatever the case may be but one one of the things that I was telling them was like it’s probably they Pro you probably won’t see consistent profits or a profit at all until they get a new TV deal and that would I think help put them more so in the black so there’s a weird that’s 100% true but there’s also a weird dynamic to that and we’ll we’ll we’ll talk about that um there’s there’s there’s plenty of other things we got to talk about too um actually one other WNBA note worth paying attention to plus James ham at the top of the hour I know y’all have been looking forward to the 13th round so y’all a hell of a fighter he I I already thought he was a good fighter I thought he had a great game plan but not only a great game plan but he had the skills to back it up Frank Martin um is if he can like get past this and not let the lights and all the criticism get to him he has an opportunity to still be a world champion in his career he’s a hell of a fighter he just isn’t on tanks level then that’s the other thing about it right and you saw it early you saw it in the second round at least I saw it in the second round tank Davis the formula that I tell you is the case every time he’s going to go in there he’s gonna take a couple punches he’s gonna fill your punch and if you if he takes that punch and he says that’s all you got he will walk you down for the rest of the night to make sure he gets the shots off that he wants to get off he will take punches to get his off and that’s what happened from the second round on he just started walking Frank Martin down putting constant pressure on him not necessarily with punches but with his presence and that’s the key to Frank uh excuse me to tank Davis then if anybody thinks they’re gonna be able to beat him if you can’t get him to respect your power you have basically no shot no shot and that’s where the next fight comes into play and people talk about Shakur people talk about lomman shenko and all this other stuff I think those are good Fighters I think they have an opportunity to beat tank Davis for sure because these are great Fighters but I wouldn’t favor them in a fight with tank because I don’t think either one of those guys can hit hard enough to get tank to respect him the bottom line of this whole thing is with tank Davis I told my man Jesse who’s a little younger than me you are getting to witness Mike Tyson all over again this is the Mike Tyson experience Dante Davis gives that to you every time he steps in the ring this is Mike Tyson reincarnated I know he’s not dead but you get what I’m saying Mike Tyson reincarnated is javante tank Davis the best show in all the Combat Sports and that’s the 13th round the best show in the game nah Stephen Brown nah Stephen Brown nah man this is Mike Tyson all over again for those who didn’t watch it really is Floyd and and tank and their split up is is disappointing to say the least but I mean that was that was whack by Floyd to release that but it didn’t it they fought tomorrow here’s the tough thing about that Michigan he may go to 140 I mean he has had one fight up at 140 already but um he’s just not he’s small he’s he’s a tiny guy like he’s not tall nothing like that 140 seems like a little bit of a stretch 140 seems like that’s where he’d have to go because there’s nobody left in 130 and 135 and he beat most of the 140s the only one that I think gives him any type of a challenge is too because Tio does have the blueprint potentially to be able to beat uh javante Davis he may have enough power to be but I don’t know if he’s skilled enough that’s the crazy thing he’s super skilled too like he not just power he’s super skilled it’s a little cap I’m not saying it doesn’t have it did happen that’s a little cap like Mike had a lot of fights the way that they were talking about javante Davis but I I was tapped in enough when I got home from the celebration uh to see that tank W again tank W again with a KO and you you you you told me circumstances didn’t allow it to happen that night uh meaning Saturday night but you you told me years ago right if you you know if it’s not really a bag and you gota watch one tank Davis is the one you got got to watch javante tank Davis I made the claim years ago like around when we started the show and I haven’t wavered from it and most importantly he hasn’t given me any reason to waiver from it takes Jesse on Saturday after another knockout another devastating knockout javante tank Davis for all you young Souls out here for all you Jessies your devans who who came in here and called us old as dirt this is Mike man gez at first I thought I was talking about you and Jesse and I was like wait a minute talking about me this is Mike Tyson all over again this is Mike you wanted to know what it was like to live through Mike now it’s not exactly the same because tank is a little uh 135 guy and it’s not the heavyweight champion of the world you know in boxing is in a different place than it was in that time but as far as like what happens like you’re tuned in to watch a tank Davis fight what you’re expecting what you’re anticipating what you’re looking for and what you get it’s the exact same thing as Mike Tyson the exact this guy is devastating in the ring you you get other guys in here that that knock people out or that finish people and stuff like that and David benovitz is an example canelo’s an example Terence Crawford’s an example where they like kind of break you down as the fight goes along and they kind of buding you and eventually it’s it’s too much and you go down tank you everything could be going fine every you’re punching you’re you’re feeling good or whatever you feel like you’re in the fight and just like that your lights are out and you get and and here’s the crazy thing about it you get knocked out a lot of these guys they get knocked out and about four minutes later they’re up and they’re like oh yeah I’m all right I’m good I’m good I’m good I’m all right I’m right I’m good like that they they just got knocked out for for like that which is more I don’t want to say more impressive but it’s different than like Canelo beating somebody down for like the last six rounds and they just I can’t take anymore and they’re busted up or whatever this dude tank just short circuits you just short circuits you for about four minutes and then he’s hugging you up and talking about great this is the the the number one show in all of Combat Sports boxing and UFC combined since they always want to jump into the conversation this is the biggest the biggest show in sports and this is Mike Tyson all over again he is special he is special is the um biggest differ is that he’s not a heavyweight I think so I mean he’s not a heavyweight I know boxing’s in a different place but I feel like when you have a heavyweight that can Captivate I feel like heavyweights Captivate differently than lightweights feather weights abely absolutely I I think assume they all shot I didn’t see them Rich Paul was there though I didn’t see Rich Paul was in The Bu yeah the the black um entertainment top level people tank Davis fight is that’s the one we circling right yeah it’s it’s not UFC 301 or whatever the case may be and I’m not saying one is better than the other my argument is so many times especially in Combat Sports and maybe in sports in can’t stand up the tank but like I think he could beat people in the future but they always say one of the hardest fights to sell is a black Boxer versus a black Boxer and and the buildup and all this other stuff and that’s some of the stuff that happened leading up into this fight but tank it when you get a chance I tweeted some about like look at the reaction when tank Davis knocks him out from the people like the people are it’s it’s not like oh my gosh he knocked him out it’s we got what we came to see like we did with Mike like yes this is what we came to see we came to see tank knock somebody out he did it I was watching tank vers roelly which was a fight from about I think about two years ago mhm the entire fight there’s people standing in the barlay center they’re standing like you see this in in football games and in in some basketball games they’re standing in the barklay centers from the start of the fight to I think it ended in round six or something like that the energy that this guy brings to the table is is unmatched right now he is the best show in all the Combat Sports and he got off that rope better than uh Jade and Damen priest did over the weekend well that whoever was doing their ropes was doing their job need to call the boxing guy to get this thing taken care of but yeah that’s uh that’s what happened over the over the weekend he’s phenomenal to watch I don’t think I retweeted this so shoot I I read a great article and and and I I I I promise I’ll find it in in retweeted I’ve referenced it before you talk about black consumers I was referencing we’ve referenced that disco demolition night before and it was I think it’s in I think it’s in Vibe magazine but it was the first one of the first breakdowns where it was like this wasn’t an attack on disco music this was an attack on like black music and the people who consumed disco music and disco was made and created really for a specific audience that those people had an issue with this was a rock station that you know promoted this night and the idea was you bring in a disco record we blow it up and you get a discount what sports center and Chris Burman and all of those guys who love to celebrate this as one of the funny haha Moments in Sports is that people were bringing in songs in the key of life and Marvin Gay and The Temptations and meeting no resistance and I’m sorry explain to me in what world that any of those three individuals I just named are disco music they’re not they’re black music and the whole thing became an aim on black music and the crazy part was at least in terms of the genre of disco for the most part successful disco had already started to fade in terms of radio it didn’t really fade in the clubs but it started to fade in radio a little bit and it a$2 million difference for me but we talk about Pros versus Joe’s the most nervous I’ve ever been shooting a basketball was when I went to the line uh down one with two free throws with $330,000 on really just kind of want them to go away and I I Love Inside the NBA I love TNT I love what they’ve done with the NBA but I’m ready to move on I I I I think the dude is showing up at the door over and over and over again and the girl is like bro I don’t want you it’s been a good few years or whatever leave me alone I’m moving on see Adam Silver needs whoever works at Amazon Prime to talk to the TNT guy and be like hey it’s over we signed the deal it’s over this is bad now so that’s the that’s and and and this is where you know this this this could be you know why Adam was so uh uh vague when addressing you know the TV reports during his state of the NBA press conference if you will before um the NBA finals is there’s a a a certain level uh of um The Clarity on the matching term in the contract is completely unclear and there was a report that that ESPN no that uh the NBA said okay well matching one of these deals isn’t matching it dollar for dollar matching it is going over because you can’t Prov provide some of the services that these other companies can provide so just matching the dollar figure isn’t actually matching the contract NBC for example you can’t match the NBC contract because you can’t offer us two network television games per week um you don’t have the right to match the ESPN contract and Amazon Amazon my guess is their argument is going to be Amazon is uh offering us a whole host of other things that you can’t offer us um this feels uh and again in in and I in light of Charles Barkley’s announcement look guys just ride off into the sunset it it it’s it’s good it’s good we we’ll always have the memories that’s it we’ll always have the memories yeah that’s it I yeah I don’t I don’t know what’s going on yeah I it was it was it was you know the guys at the New York Times have been all over uh this story so again the likely to match Amazon’s offer does doesn’t necessarily mean that they’ll just take over Amazon’s offer because clearly the NBA wants Amazon and I think they’ll be willing to fight TNT to a certain degree on this and that’s not how you want to enter this partnership no you don’t want it to be combative they’ll uh they’ll just they’ll TNT won’t have no games they’ll be like all right you can be a partner show the highlights on Bleacher Report you’re not getting any games yeah and you can be the unofficial League Pass channel for the Hornets you’re going to get the Hornets and wiz you’re gonna get the Hornets and wizards like the WBA gets the fever in Sky every week and they got another one coming up they were hyping it up at the end of uh the last one uh you asked earlier about the um if the if the WNBA has has turned a profit and you know we state of they in fact Haven that they are losing we believe based on some reports and in the vicinity at least of $50 million per year this uh television rights negotiation that they’re doing uh includes the WNBA the television rights deals that the uh NBA is doing right now includes the WNBA and they believe that the wnba’s value is going to be somewhere in the vicinity of $240 million per year but it’s difficult to figure out what exactly that means because it like how are we defining that it’s all it’s not like the the uh the leagues aren’t being itemized like okay it’s a billion for the NBA per year and uh 500 million for the WNBA per like that’s not how this is being like broken down but the gist of the article uh that I think a lot of these numbers came from was this will be the last time that the wnba’s contract uh that the wnba’s television rights deal is negotiated with the NBAs and in 10 or 11 years or you know probably nine or 10 years when these negotiations start that will offer the first true look at what the WNBA is worth and with this new contract they’ll abs absolutely begin the process of turning a profit and with the growth that I think we all expect the game to experience over the next decade the league will could be entering its first why they might be uh experiencing a popularity boom right now and a television boom and all of these things they they could likely experience their First Financial boom uh in a decade when they negotiate their own television deal to to the best of your knowledge is what percentage would you say the correct media rights deal plays in turning a profit like because that that’s kind of the argument I was having over the uh over the weekend with my man Ace and couple of our other buddies in the group chat he was like they still don’t turn a profit and I said I at the time I didn’t know I said I could understand if they don’t turn a profit but I’ve seen some articles where the wording was different like like generate and I know generate doesn’t mean that’s what you come out with but they had they’ve made $200 million and I was like well generate made is has a different connotation to me than generate so I was like I don’t know maybe they they have made a profit I don’t know but I said also at the same time they’re on this old TV deal and I sent the the link to the article about they’re about to quadruple their current deal and I said that should get them in the black with the new TV deal but also wasn’t sure like how much to the best of your knowledge does a TV deal The Rock TV deal go towards making a profit every it’s it’s everything and you can use that across leagues or we can go to the old familiar uh wrestling line um the which I did not even think was POS possible when it felt like the popularity of professional wrestling specifically the WWE but over all professional wrestling was was kind of waning a little bit you got Warner Brothers willing to invest in an entirely brand new startup wrestling company using nothing more than their history of being home for a professional wrestling company in the past at the same time WWE was signing what I think amounted to like5 billion dollar worth of television deals and now you got this new Netflix thing coming into play so that’s that’s ultimately what determines it’s not how many Austin 316 seats shirts are sold or how many people are subscribing to the network it’s how much is Netflix willing to pay you to air their product the WWE is arguably at their lowest point since like 1994 in terms of Television the way we consume uh television now is differently than it was back in 1994 but you can go back to like King Mabel and Diesel and all of this different stuff when you see like television rate ratings that were as low they’ve been the last few years but what ww has been able to sell you on is like look at our YouTube look at our social media engagement look at how many people follow John Cena and Roman Reigns and all of these different things and now you’ve got Fox like yeah here’s two billion we want you on network here’s USA going yeah we want you two billion now if two people are watching your show but these two networks are paying you a combined five billion do to air your product you’re a five billion doll company at minimum that’s the same in sports we always joke about this Cap’s going up the Cap’s going the Cap’s going up because a new TV deal is coming into play 9 million people watch the finals on Friday the lowest television rating for an NBA finals in I don’t know how long but that’s not going to affect someone offering you 76 billion total to air your product for the next 11 years it is the most important contract negotiation a commission or owner of a company who who’s trying to create a television product can make whether it’s uh Roger Goodell or Adam Silver or Rob Manfred Giants get the win 136 why did it say live why didn’t you tell me I only turned this here because I thought it was live I thought there was nothing else on no get better I’m gonna get better I guess my time here in Golden state is done I think he’s I think he is gonna have a different team next year yeah I wouldn’t put it past him I I mean like look I think this thing is all up in the air and you know I I was joking with Kyle earlier we have you know all of these different versions of Klay Thompson you know Clay on a boat and and clay with his dog and all these things this can just be like clay the like Instagram guy like he’s just like wiping out stuff and making it like building the drama of it because again I do think that they are like pretty dramatic down there in the bay um although like look it there’s been enough talk about you know who’s interested in him Orlando being interested I’m sure Philadelphia would at least kick kick the tires um but the Warriors are in such bad financial shape that I don’t know what you do like there there’s not a lot you can do because if you go out and you sign clay what are we talking about 15 20 million a year I think he’s I think he’s thinking he could should get we’re talking like 25 million 2530 hey if that’s it like the Warriors in order to do that they’re going to be out 50 60 70 like that’s that’s not that’s not what you need to do if you’re the Warriors especially for like let’s be honest it’s a it’s a player whose skill sh skill set has diminished and it’s tough but you have to be honest with people and um when when you see somebody on the down side of their career uh you can’t you can’t kind of skirt around it you just have to say look there might be a team where you’re very valuable for them right now and they’ve got young players and all these things where that makes sense but we’re not that team anymore and we’re aging and we need to get younger and we also we need to cut payroll and if you want to come back and and be part of it but like 105 million dollar a year that’s fine but outside of that we can’t really do this and I’ll be interested to see at the end of the day what happens um I mean his legacy is always going to be as a warrior he’ll be a Hall of Famer as a warrior um but you know you can’t pay everybody especially you can’t pay everybody at at 34 35 36 it just becomes a really really tough game because that team is not going to win they’re going to be a you know eight n 10 for the next couple years as long as Steph is there but really nothing more than that unless they find some crazy young player out of nowhere that they don’t currently have on their roster I’d be I’d be mad too you pay you pay you pay him $100 million better find a way you you wanted to keep the band together for him but you going to let me go I’m I’m arguably the second best player in my position next to the dude I play with we arguably have the greatest back so Tom I think well then he won’t get any of it Well’s he’s not gonna starve no that’s true well but I mean if that’s the play I I think there’s also possibility like the Warriors I mean the Lakers have a like a group of 12 million doll players they could they could trade Draymond for a couple of12 million players and get out from underneath that deal serious question like all hate aside who would trade for Draymond like I’m I’m a the Lakers proba the Lakers I think would you know who might OKC could probably afford to trade for Draymond okay would he play in OKC Begg it’s not a bad it’s not a bad team no I think team wise I think he he’d be fine with it I don’t know if living in OKC he’d be fine with it but I think that’s that’s a team where he could they have enough around him where his lack of production on some nights wouldn’t hamper he could just be this rebound assist guy like I think that would would would potentially be an option I’m trying to think of seriously think of other places where he could go that’d be a tough team though because they already have Josh ky’s not a great three-point shooter in the starting lineup and so you would have have to ask him to come off the bench u i I don’t know that wouldn’t really work I think there are some teams out there like I don’t know uh Cleveland could use like a like an energy dude someone who who uh you know a little more forceful than some of the young players they have but I asked the same question with all of these teams would he play there because I think they’re M Cleveland’s interesting I think there’s only a few teams he play in fact can he he’d play for the Lakers I feel like if he was traded today he’d play for the Los Angeles Lakers I don’t know that he’d play for Oklahoma City I can’t imagine Sam Presley would want him with those young guys Cleveland I don’t know what Cleveland’s doing nor do I understand why they haven’t hired a head coach I feel like I know why the Lakers haven’t hired a 70 and okay 80 um but yeah they’re they’re higher yeah they definitely have higher end ones that are 100 well well above but their problem and this is what like their CEO has said they’re trying to address is that they are trying to create something that competes with the three in the Y like an econom a more of a economically sound car to gain an imprint to where it’s like okay we trust this car maybe next time around I’ll spend $75,000 on one of their higher models but because I’m not gonna lie to you that’s what Tesla has me thinking I mean let you buy one of the higher end models next time about Keegan Murray I think Tristy had highlighted it our girl TR um and highlight about javel no talking about like he wants Keegan to experience the NBA a little bit more go to dinner with your friends like or with your teammates not not like you have to be in the club or nothing like that but live a little bit more the NBA life he said he thinks it would help him as a player and as a teammate if he did that I totally agree um I don’t you know because we don’t travel with the team and even even if even if you’re a beat writer traveling with a team like I did for a while where I was you know like 15 20 games a year uh on the road um you don’t travel with them you don’t stay in the same Hotel because you can’t afford their hotel it’s not part of your uh concur like list um you so you don’t travel with them you don’t eat out with them for the most part like um I I don’t know like how much he spins out with the others but that’s a big deal like they need to get him out of the hotel and I like what javil said I think he said it on doimo I think that’s where she pulled the quote um but like definitely said like you know we’re not talking about taking him out to the club and we’re not talking about bringing him out and drinking with him we just mean like he needs to get out he needs to experience the cities he’s in whether it’s New York or whatever City it might be you need to if you’re going to spend he said if you’re going to spend four days in New York you need to go be a tourist you need to go check out things and like figure out the city and all that stuff you shouldn’t be going back to your hotel room to watch video every single every single night that’s just not there’s a uh there’s something about being an NBA player that um I I think we we all understand but unless you really think about it like these guys get to go to cool cities all the time and stay in five star hotels but they also like they have security or they they have people that will go with them to go to you know name that place and so they he does need to get out if that’s a problem that’s something that like his his vets need to sort of get in his head and pull him out of a shell a little bit more and say hey look this is we’re gonna go out and we’re gonna have not a crazy time but we’re gonna go out and have a good time and and at least see things where we’re at and and um shout out to do Mo I didn’t I didn’t know that’s where it came from shout out to them but um the the tone that I got because I just read it I didn’t see the the interview I just read it the tone that I got from javelle wasn’t to say like like Keegan wrong or anything else like that he said I I think this would help him I think this would um help him you know with the chemistry with the that maybe Kegan has uh he still I think I’m not sure if he has his the same girlfriend when he got to the team um but if he does then it’s one of those things where like you don’t want to be seen out you don’t want to as a young guy I could see him being like Ultra conservative about it and not wanting to get in trouble but you still can like go enjoy a City without getting in trouble H you think javelle says there’s some that there’s there’s some there is camaraderie in that then then there is and who the hell am I to say that oh javelle that’s silly you don’t need to do that he’s been all over the league with championship teams multiple Champion how am I going to disagree with that it’s not the first thing that would come to my mind like I was going to say we don’t spend any time back to that same basic theme that you have to be more than just a basketball player like you have to be able to like stimulate your mind in different ways a and push yourself in different ways it it at all we do have news uh according to Tim McMahon Joe moula on Chris porzingis he’s available expecting to see him tonight yeah what Joe MAA meant was if we’re not down 50 yeah he might play you think or you you’ll see him he’ll be sitting right there on the bench do you think because I was listening to the Insiders and I think both Kyle and James very good show we TR Kristoff is never gonna play this season do you think that that’s the case as well Damian like he’s he’s done for the season and they’re just kind of maybe courtesy or whatever playing him or did he not play in game four because it was such a big blowout so uh Jo MAA clar he didn’t clarify he weighed in a little bit more after the initial report from Shams that not uh shiran and not Cunningham that he was gonna be available that Christoph porzingis was gonna be available but then he you know he clarified a little bit more saying okay yeah he’s available but like in certain situations and if needed he was never needed Friday um I’m gonna shy away a little bit from James and Kyle’s thinking here whereas if we have a different type of game tonight and Lord knows I hope we do yeah I think we’ll see chrisos porzingis out there uh I don’t think we’re gonna see him play 30 minutes even if the game is close but I think we’re going to see porzingis I think Kyle’s take was he’s done we’re not going to see him I think like I’m not convinced of that like but but the longer you wait I think the more likely it is that he does play like if you if there is a game six um I think you would probably want to see him on the court like and that would be a week but again we don’t know what this injury is that’s the problem like he’s probably getting an MRI every day so they can start to study and see what it is what’s happening so they at least have a blint to operate off of there’s no uh hey this happened too it’s like hey buddy I don’t know what this means but moua said there’s no minutes restriction either no that means if he’s gonna play he’s gonna play like yeah that they’re not gonna limit him starting right well yeah but like he wasn’t starting when he was healthy game one true yeah that’s tough never gonna start in the NBA Finals well no that’s true be and be one of the more impactful better players the series his first game back was game one right yeah yeah yeah that was and just a then you just kind of watch it and maintain it over the course of a couple of weeks with it with an NBA player like they want to see what what’s happening with the growth and how it’s like how it’s reacting and all that I wouldn’t doubt that they’re going to just keep taking photos of this saying and like okay is it healing on its own is it not like we talked about like the grade one grade two grade three like a grade three in the ankle is a complete like severed ligament but it grows back together but then the ACL doesn’t repair itself the MCL does repair itself in the knee so all of these things are different and you don’t know how this particular injury will heal itself or not heal itself so whether it’s a surgical procedure that’s needed or if it’s going to grow back together by itself it’s just like all of it’s very strange in the three plus years we’ve been with James three years we’ve been with James I think that he gets most excited to talk about his injuries I love injuries and if he can demonstrate like a turned finger that’s his bag that’s his bag it’s the Kings and then it’s injuries M finger what happens that’s mallet finger but what dearon got was an inverted mallet finger oh what what uh the hammock bone is that what was is right here he talking about ripping what was it oh yeah that is a he had a oh no um a UCL joint the tendon and the ligament rips off from an evulsion fracture there it is an evion fracture there it is yeah that’s much different than a severed ligament it’s where the bone pops off takes it the the ligament P J is gonna get like he’s gonna get like little diagrams behind so like like little skeletons like you see in the doctor’s office with tendons attached so he can pull one up and say okay so what happened and he could snap a tendon and be like it broke just like this uh Jesse’s making us end the show because he needs to get home and he needs to do a different pregame routine than he did on Friday so hopefully we’re
