First player from Latavia to win an NBA championship

Personally, I see it as water under the bridge. Still fuck Boston, but I’m happy for him!

I know there’s controversy about him

But he was drafted in 2015

    2014/2016 we didn’t have 1st round picks

2017/2018 we took Frank and Knox

Let’s not act like we didn’t fail him as much as he failed us

We BOTCHED it. Could’ve had SGA/Donovan/Kristaps by draft alone.

Thankfully we are out of this era.

I’d be mad but, he stuck it to the team that fucked us over in that trade.

Opposite reaction; i had about a second of rage when i saw him on the stage with the trophy.

Guy became Michael Jordan for one game and quietly bowed out. What a champion.

We pretty much got used to slandering Kristaps but there’s hard work on his end in the middle of it and now, he’s champion. You can’t say he didn’t deserve it after being a journeyman of sorts.

I don’t think KP failed us at all. He was a young stud our best draft pick in decades.

    1) He had a new coach every season
    2) we put like 0 talent around him, frank and kevin Knox were drafted next.
    3) he was in the running for ROY
    4) lead the league in blocks or was pretty close
    5) he was young, wanted to win and prior to his arrival NY didn’t have a culture of winning and the 3 years he was there before didn’t look to show any signs of that changing.
    6) his brother persuaded him the grass was greener elsewhere. And guess what…. It WAS

And Phil Jackson was trying to trade him to the Celtics too and here we are 😂

  9. I don’t hate him but I wouldn’t say I’m happy for him

Nah fuck em. Happy for Svi and Kornet though.

  11. Nah he’s a bum for life. I recognize he’s been apologetic about his Knicks tenure, and we’re no longer in the dark days, but never have I seen a player force a trade on their rookie deal no matter how bad the team is. And the Knicks were hovering around .500 halfway through the season before he tore his ACL and the wheels fell off.

I like KP but there’s a lot of lionizing going on here. He was always hurt, always had some weird cramping issue, always got bodied by smaller players, never was a big time rebounder for a guy his size, and had many many nights where he’d go 8-20, 9-23, 7-18, etc. We wanted him to be a #1 option superstar so bad but in the end, he turned out to be simply a good, solid player that was not a franchise guy and more of a 3rd option. Again, not saying I wouldn’t take him back if he wanted a homecoming, but I feel like people are remembering his tenure here through orange and blue tinted glasses.

Same. Happy for KP and Horford. And KP learned his lessons and has said all the right things since before he became a Celtic. Congratulations.

    Now f*** Boston. No repeats.
