I can’t help thinking back to this game. I remember watching us absolutely dismantle them on their homecourt and really believing at the time that this was going to be the Finals matchup. That road trip was the best we have looked maybe ever…Without Kawhi that dream was over.

We never recovered from that road trip. A series of gutsy wins and a warning from Kawhi that our run of form was unsustainable without making some changes (we needed another playable big). We very quickly went from being in contention for the 1st seed and Kawhi being a dark horse MVP candidate to just hoping to have HCA in the first round. Then Kawhi got injured right on schedule, and it was over for us.
The Clips could win 60+ games and handle every contender. Kawhi still gonna tear his knee in the first playoff series. As is tradition.
