  1. Dan Hurley: The PISTONS BUILT THAT CONTRACT IN DETROIT WITH A BOX OF SCRAPS

Jeanie: well I’m sorry I’m not the Pistons

  2. Accurate-Albatross34

78 million for 1 year and the biggest losing streak of all time, generational robbery from monty,

  3. Tigers4DaPenet

Tom Gores is a clown, he certainly hit up Woj for this tweet to make him seem like it was his decision, when all reports are he was the one who wanted Monty last year

  4. atlfirsttimer

Gonna be hilarious when the team sucks again with the next coach.

I’m guessing Monty was fired for his playtime decisions. You at least want to build and develop when that bad

  5. This makes sense, Langdon for sure needed approval to fire Monty and basically burn ab 70 million of Gores’ money

  6. celtic_sea_salt

Put that contract in the fuckin Louvre

  7. CoyotesSideEyes

Tom Gores is willing to waste money, but my God, he’s got no fucking clue how to run an NBA team. Waste years and years with Troy Weaver, then immediately undermine the authority of the new GM publicly.

  8. silentbible

Ridiculous. No wonder the Pistons always sucks.

  9. Hovi_Bryant

Just like he motioned for Blake Griffin… dude is a shit owner that doesn’t know when to shut up and sit on his hands. Can’t just clean house after every 5 years dude.

I think I can have similar success with the Pistons as a head coach.

But I only cost half of Monty’s money.

    Hell, I can accept 10%.

    Also… i feel so bad for Cade…

  11. If pistons owner owned the Lakers, Dan Hurley would be the coach. Clearly money ain’t a problem for this guy, despite $10 tickets.

  12. sully9614

Why hire someone to the largest contract in NBA coaching history if you can’t even test the waters with them for more than 1 year? Idk why any coach would want to be there now after seeing how they did Monty, hell even Casey.

  13. cptmajormajormajor

They 100% waited to see the response to the firing before leaking this to Woj lol

    > The decision to fire Monty Williams now was made at the ownership level

Which, more than ever, means absolutely nothing…

  15. bermitthefrog

Now watch them get Frank Vogel for 80M

  16. AtreusIsBack

That team has a front office? Seriously. The way they’ve been running the team for the last 2 decades, I wouldn’t have guessed it.
