[Music] welcome into NBA now by chat sports I am Nick R lot to cover on today’s show spanning across the NBA draft and standard NBA off season we’ll talk about Donovan Mitchell is he staying in Cleveland kle we the center from Indiana will he be going in the lottery when the draft gets underway in about a week and a half and then is a major NBA draft on the Horizon we’ll start though with Donovan Mitchell because Michael Scot NBA Insider had this report earlier today that said rival NBA Executives believe Donovan Mitchell will sign a Max extension for at least the next three seasons with the Cleveland Cavaliers we’ll talk more about Mitchell and what this means for the rest of the NBA and the domino effect but do you want more NBA content here at chat sports well show me and hit mind he can sign a fouryear $28 million extension now as you heard from Scot he said at least three seasons maybe D Mitch doesn’t want to do the full four that he is eligible for due to his um eligibilities of supermax where it could be that 4 for 208 maybe he wants to just do a three-year but we’ll have to see and he is eligible to sign it starting July 7 and all eyes are on Donovan Mitchell this entire NBA off season he is the number one guy that experts and insiders believe could be dealt if he does not sign that extension it is all on the extension cuz if he signs well then we have a mute point here maybe Garland becomes available like the Domino fact of Mitchell not signing an extension and signing extension are massive because it affects everybody around the NBA like teams like Brooklyn Houston Miami who have had potential aspirations of acquiring Donovan Mitchell and why wouldn’t you right he’s one of the best three level scorers in the entire NBA he’s just consistently been that throughout his entire NBA career when he started with the Utah Jazz and he’s been an excellent playoff performer for the most part as well still young 27 years old suitors would be lining up to try to acquire Donovan Mitchell via trade and if he does become available it will headline most of our NBA offseason talk but if he signs a long-term extension a lot of teams are going to have to go elsewhere a lot rides though on the head coaching search of the Cleveland Cavaliers the two main head coaching searches going on right now the Cavaliers and the Los Angeles Lakers well the Cavs head coaching search kind of seems to be coming near a close at least because every single indication from NBA insiders and beat reporters suggest that James bgo and Kenny Atkinson are the two Front Runners for the job and I honestly would not be shocked if one of the two signs and makes it official with Cleveland in the next couple days before Father’s Day on Sunday because they and I say they whatever coach it ends up being needs to get into the building they need to Pres present the plan of moving forward to Donovan Mitchell so he can either sign an extension or not and they have to get in the building to start prepping for the NBA draft on who the coach would prefer the Cavaliers select as they have the pick that number 20 in the first round so all eyes are on who they sign and I expect it to come quickly and then that will turn into well does that head coach get Donan Mitchell to stay long term with the Cleveland Cavaliers your turn to vote for me down below will kle we the center from Indiana who started his Collegian career at Oregon before transferring his sophomore year to the hooers and he was phenomenal for him last season but there’s a lot of Buzz that he could go in the top 14 which is considered the NBA lottery it started from James waserman The Bleacher Report Draft analyst saying that an impressive pro day of shooting has had teams buzzing around klew sources say he’s generating realistic consideration in the late Lottery and I’m not shocked by this end at all really because wear has the physical tools the length the athleticism to be a modern stretch NBA Center and his numbers at Indiana back it up 16 points a game 10 rebounds a game good shot blocker but he’s also patient on the defensive side of the floor what does that mean you might ask well he doesn’t bite for every pump fake searching for highlight blocks he stays down on his feet is competitive does not commit a lot of fouls but has the arm length in quick Twitchy ability to then go up and get a block if need be when the shooter finally gets into his motion another part that people like about kalal Weare well he shot 41% from three last season low volume only about 1.3 attempts a game but the jump shot form is there in the ceiling to be a stretch NBA Center makes a lot of sense I’m extremely bullish on kle Weare ceiling I think he could be one of the better stretch fives in the NBA and at this point in the association it feels like if you want to compete you need size that is versatile and can space the floor look at christops porzingis nicoa yic Carl Anthony Town some of these top big big men are spacing the floor but can protect the rim as well I think kle wear projects as someone who can do that my Pro Comp on kware coming in up in just a one of the best shot blockers in the entire NBA but he’s also one of the best centers in terms of Versatility and fitting in schemes because he can play in the mid-range he can get a post up from there and now doesn’t do it a lot but he can do it and then he can also be the main pick and pop guy and rim protector I think Kel wear will continue to put on muscle and size to help him stay more physical defensively and take contact when he’s inside but the vision is there for we to be one of the best stretch bigs in the NBA Brook Lopez is also another comp Old Brook Lopez that is so what teams could be interested in where because if he’s getting buzzed to go in the lottery well where is he going to go I have five teams one outside the lottery the first pick outside the top 14 the Miami Heat who are looking for a center to play behind bam as well as next to him he makes a lot of sense but the lottery teams the Grizzlies are rumored to want to trade up for Donovan Klan if they can’t get Donovan kingan do they pivot to kle wear who can play alongside jiren Jackson Jr you create really two block or shop lockers there and people could space the floor the Thunder need size behind and with chatol grin same type of thing with the Grizzlies the Kings could be looking for a better backup center or move sabonis to power forward for that team and then there Trailblazers they’ve also been rumored to want Donovan kingan Robert Williams and DeAndre Aon aren’t really it if you ask me could K we be the center of the future for for them those are five teams late Lottery first pick outside that I think could have their eyes on where all right let’s close out the show with a potential major draft trade shakeup who could be interested in making a major trade to move up and change the entire draft order well the three teams that have been rumored to be looking the trade up is the Portland Trailblazers the Toronto Raptors and the Cleveland Cavaliers the Cavs pick at 20 the Raptors pick at 19 and the Blazers have two first round picks their own with at number seven and then thanks to the Golden State Warriors they also have another lottery pick at 14 we’ll revisit these three teams but I got to get a temperature check on the real ones out here spam me if you are excited for the NBA draft I’m typing my M down below who’s excited with me show me all you might be asking where those rumors came from about potentially having trade-ups in the draft well it came from Kevin oconor of the ringer who was on his NBA draft podcast um and had this to say surrounding some trade rumors he said when naming those three teams I’ve heard those three teams specifically are trying to move either into the lottery or the top 10 so I thought it’d be a fun experiment to come up here and give my opinion on what those three teams could do if they did trade up we’ll start with Portland who has picked seven and 14 I think they like Donovan kingan they want a rim protecting Center to pair up with their guard rotation of anrey Simon Shaden sharp scoot Henderson and helped Jeremy Grant as well so if they feel they cannot get kingan at seven and he’s for sure going up and going to be in the top three or four which it seems like he may be I could easily see them packaging seven and 14 to get up to in the top three to secure Donovan kingan to Portland that is probably the most out or likely outcome if the Blazers were trying to move up but there’s also been Buzz out there that they could try to trade for team to get into the top 10 and have two top 10 picks how about Toronto they have a lot of team needs they can use more size alongside yaka poal they can use some wings as well to Grady dick RJ Barrett and then they could also use some guards like Emanuel quickle is cool but like is he really your only guard Gary Trent Jr is not probably in the long-term plans of Toronto either the player I could see them making a splash for this would happen on draft night but if nicoa toic who I I have as my second player on my NBA big board if he continues to fall due to his partially torn ACL and he’s there at pick eight pick nine could Toronto strike and move from 19 into the top 10 to try to secure topic who can be patient with let him recover from injury and potentially be a high upside pick for Toronto to pair alongside Grady dick yakoto and some of their other key players like Scotty Barnes Cleveland Cavaliers will be the last team we talk about here I imagine they are trying to add size it is heavily rumored they’re going to move on from Jared Allen this off season regardless if they keep down of AD Mitchell or not so if they want to move off of Allen and make a trade could they package Allen and maybe a draft pick at 20 to move up to draft his replacement and size move Mo to the center and have whoever they take start as a backup and then I’ll eventually play alongside him also be much cheaper than Jared Allen’s contract they could be one of teams that likes K Weare and want to trade up in the lottery get the Indiana Center or maybe they try to make a major trade up package Jared Allen and pick 20 to get inside the top six or seven see if that can happen and then they draft on him and cling in the center from Yukon I imagine if the Cavs traded up to try to get in the lottery it would be to try to get some size to add to that
