I understand Luka’s fiery passion for competition, but I think he needs to understand that Slovenia is going nowhere, while the Mavericks will (and just did). He needs to take the summer to rest, heal up, get help to improve his attitude and effort, and overall add a offball to his game.

This is exactly why no one has sympathy for Luka’s injuries. If you:
– Don’t take your conditioning seriously
– Don’t make the right decisions for your long term health
– And don’t give effort
No one is going to have sympathy for you. Either play and play with effort, or don’t play at all and focus on recovery. Luka seems to repeatedly solicit sympathy for his injury as a justification for not trying hard on defense (and his stans enable it), but at the same time, doesn’t take the right steps to focus on his health.
You can’t have your cake and eat it too.

I just don’t think Luka’s top priority is pushing himself to winning an NBA Championship, like taking offseason rest to heal from injuries and then getting into much better playing shape. These finals showed how gassed he was.

As a Mavs fan and Dallas native seeing Dirk be the flag bearer at the 2008 Olympics for Germany was an incredible moment. Something I’ll always look back on fondly. Representing your country in the Olympics is every athletes dream.
