Knicks Offseason Central: Knicks BIG Trade?| | Brunson’s Big Move | Randle Interview Reaction
on this uh Friday Friday afternoon man another edition of kft TV’s offseason Central presented by Mando fullbody deodorant man go to shop.com and use our code kftv for $5 off the starters pack we got an action pack show today could the Knicks be making a big man move we got some uh updates from Jake fiser Yahoo Sports on Isaiah hardenstein Mitchell Robinson and potential interest in an Orlando Magic free agent man stay tuned for that we’re going to talk about Jaylen brunson’s potential big time Big money saving move for the Knicks plus we’re going to react to the Julius Randall 7 P.M in Brooklyn uh podcast interview a couple of sound bites that peaked my interest and maybe you’ll Peak yours we’ll talk about it man call me up 6573 831509 or you can hit me up on the kftv Discord man offseason chenel time let’s go like share and subscribe the number one show for the fans by the fans is on and popping so let’s talk about it salute salute salute all right man happy Friday to the gang let’s let’s get straight to business man had a little audio glitch out earlier so had to you know recalibrate the gauges but we are back on and popping s to everybody in the lunchtime grind on the chat uh my guys are in here tento is in here Lopez Paul quick salute Daniel bazor DB block what it is Mike Rambo in the building Rambo’s here Joey Keys is here so we got to get down to business man K do salute Will Rose I see you salute man yeah a little technical difficulties but we we good money man all right so let’s get down to business man shall we because um according to Jake fiser of Yahoo sports it is expected that Isaiah hartenstein uh is is going to stay with the Knicks and that the Knicks have contacted teams opposing teams about Mitchell Robinson now couple of things that may have impacted the iHeart news you had OKC making a big splash yesterday blockbuster trade if you will for one Alex Caruso Caruso that was one of my trade targets if you watched episode one of offseason Central OKC goes in and gets Caruso he’s going to be eligible for 4year $78 million deal so now there’s questions as to is OKC G to still they still have money to spend are they going to use that on iHeart or go a little bit cheaper according to Jake fiser in his article he say he thinks that uh OKC will go the cheaper out go situational Reserve big man to support Chad hongren rather than making a bigger Splash to go get iHeart and potentially change their offense up a little bit I don’t think it would be that big of a deal but the thinking here is that OKC will go a little bit cheaper so that takes one to me formidable formidable team out of the iHeart sweep Stakes potentially because the thing is this iHeart will most likely get the security the longer term security with the Knicks in a 4-year deal do the Thunder go out there and try to give him a balloon deal which is like 25 on a one plus one Bobby marks came on the show and talked about in two years OKC’s going to have to make this contract decisions on key players so they’re not really looking to get into bed with any players for on on long-term deals that could potentially hamper them from a salary cap standpoint going down the road so would they offer iHeart you know a balloon deal at 25 one plus one and does he take that over the longer term security and being in a place where he’s comfortable has chemistry with the team so on and so forth I think he’ll go with the ladder I do think that the Knicks will retain Isaiah hartenstein and that number will be announced at some point in the coming weeks now let’s go to the second part of his article here and that is that the Knicks have contacted opposing teams about moving Mitchell Robinson let’s highlight that man let’s get that in there so to everybody in the chat offseason Central we’re doing research here they contacted other teams about Mitch and what are we talking about on this show if the Knicks my opinion if the Knicks are to retain hartenstein keeping both iHeart and Mitch when you have to make significant Investments we’re hearing OG could be getting anywhere between 35 and 40 you got iHeart if you’re going to keep them a second apron looming Mitch could be a casualty for a couple of reasons number one just as I said financially it may not make the most sense to allocate so much resources into your big man front court and number two there’s only but so many trade assets that the Knicks have you’re not trading the Nova 3 you’re not you’re not Julius long shot and not necessary at at this point so you have the bonovich contract you have Mitch and you maybe have Duce along with draft picks those are your most tradable assets right now so those are the most tradable assets so none of this is even remotely surprising to be completely honest with you I’m not surprised at at any of this news and shout out to our guy Ian Begley because he’s reporting that he’s heard similar to the Yahoo report by Jake fiser on Mitchell Robinson he says New York in talks about potential trades Robinson’s name has come up don’t think New York is fully committed to moving him but his salary which is two years left on a 4-year $60 million descending contract is valuable I I also think that he’d also be a valuable player just based on his potential defense ly when he is healthy so you have the bonovich contract you have the Mitch contract you might have to use that to make one big move this summer a lot of you guys don’t want to trade Mitch I’m I’m not you know pushing Mitch out the door by any stretch like Mitch you’re a guy but this is a tough business man I got I got my Mitch uh block Nest monster T I should have dropped re-release these man I should put those back out but um it’s just a cost of doing business everybody’s not coming along for the ride so Mitch could be a casualty here let me know what you guys think man 65 73831 159 or you could hit me up on the kftv Discord so none of this news is is surprising at all now let’s say let’s say they do keep iHeart and potentially trade Mitch remember remember a guy that I had on my potential iHeart replacement list onto on the centers that are available I mentioned Orlando big man Goga baz now according to Evan cidery covers the league for Forbes Magazine Forbes Sports Go goar baz number 18 pick from the 2019 draft is a player many contending teams are targeting as a backup big option on the vet minimum Market Clippers Heat Kings Nicks Mavs Pelican suns are teams expected to show interest Five Points four rebounds the numbers aren’t even don’t even aren’t even worth going through he’s a he’s a backup he’s a backup big he can defend he can rebound is that a potential cheaper option to back up iHeart plus you still got Sims and a potential you know whatever they do in the draft maybe they do something in the draft to get some more depth there could be potential options here just just don’t shoot the messenger I’m just the conductor here we’re just sifting through the news and we are reacting to it this is more of a rumor here and we’re reacting to it maybe keep an IH heart maybe trading Mitch interest in Goot baz let me know your thoughts 657 383 1509 or you can hit me up on the kftv Discord my franchise channel members salute to you guys on a Friday hot day outside in New York at least close to 90 might be a little over 90 in the city so make sure you guys taking care of yourself make sure you’re applying that deodorant to support our sponsors at Mando man go to Mando shot.com use our code kftv $5 off the starup pack suy says it would break my heart if Mitch gets traded yeah man it’ be tough it would definitely be tough to lose Mitch he’s an elder Statesman he’s contributed to the culture here I liked how he’s come along you know a lot of you guys wanted expected more out of him especially offensively I thought he was fine the injuries were were really the only thing that’s uh are really the only thing that that’s really keeping him back but hey this this business is going to be tough it’s going to be tough call on who to keep GQ F Super Chat says it would be a tragedy travesty to watch ihart get pushed around by embiid after paying him all that money I mean look I mean you be hard pressed to find someone who Joel embiid can’t push around You’ be hard pressed to find that it’s show lmbi at the end of the day right that there’s no lock down defender in the league some guys are going to do better against others based on the matchup the MB matchup was not the best for ihart he struggled in that series no question I’ll be the first one to tell you but I I that doesn’t mean that just because he couldn’t check and be doesn’t mean that he didn’t do a hundred great things for the Knicks throughout last season because I thought he was fantastic between the floater the two-man game with Brunson he he was durable for the most part the rebounding the defense iard was a great player for the Knicks I thought he was great for the Knicks salute Manny Fest on CH what kind of Super Chat is that bro what are you talking about bro uh Caesar blackdown salute says what’s up the phone phone’s up man 657 383 1509 yeah pause what’s this guy talking about man we talking about badk boy here this guy’s focused on anyway uh Anthony pariso in the chat salute he developed himself into a real professional absolutely man what more can you say about Mitch he really did or are you talking about ihart I thought you were talking about Mitch Mitch can’t hit free throws that’s fair that’s fair can’t say healthy can’t hit free throws it’s it’s uh it’s a tough part of the equation but when he’s on the floor he he’s on point he he’s definitely on point so that’s the story there on the big man situation let’s take a call here 512 what’s your name where you calling in from 512 it’s 512 there all right we don’t have him there all right we’ll drop them off we’ll let him get back to lunch you can call us up man 65738 31509 or hit the kftv Discord salute happy bear fight out Super Chat says the moment Mitch went down in the playoffs I knew he was being traded best ability is availability that’s part of it it’s part of it but I also think well yeah ihart did get his his chance because Mitch went down Mitch missed 50 games last year he missed more than half the season so when iheard got his chance he took over and he played better the Knicks were better with him on the court in my opinion now Mitch Mitch did come through in the clutch against Philly but is is that his ideal place right now to Ras is as a more so as a backup because you just don’t know how many games he’s going to play as a starter Mr duns RP Mitchy no snitchy o yall ready y’all ready to run Cody Glock out of here happy bear fight out Super Chat says the moment M oh I got that one shout out to y in the chat F out Super Chat says to boss man relax with the paperwork it’s kftv time yeah it’s Friday man relax with the paperwork and tell B man if he’s a Knicks fan we got to dig into this offseason content man it’s very important priorities here Caesar black down in the chat I guess he was the 512 caller Cesar you got to get prepared man you asking about the phones we here we ready 646 what’s your name where you call it in from turn turn your radio down hello yes hello sir how are you you got to turn it’s probably it’s probably an issue on my end we’ll restart the phones and we’ll get back to it so to everybody in the chat once again hit that thumbs up button for your boy welcome to BL CP the fanchise say the offseason Central we’ll get to it see what we’re doing here all right see if it works start your show now since it appears you’re calling back into our live show we are reconnecting you now all right reconnecting let’s see if it works now let’s see if it works now 512 what’s your name where you calling in from hey this is Caesar black down there we go there we go what’s good man how you feeling hey um I’m good man I’m glad I’m glad this came up I’m so psyched I can’t even believe it about ihart but my question is do you think think it’s wrong with me to expect that a player like Mitch with his gifts in this last six years he’s been with the team should have developed some other offensive like go-to besides the lb I mean I just feel like somebody like him and after six years he should have an up and under any kind of back to the basket he doesn’t even need to have a push push shot like ihart just something that’s like Up and Under so we can actually use him we just don’t use him and last thing I’ll say is Jaylen Brunson he doesn’t use him either because as soon as Mitch went out Jaylen developed that you know all come off the the screen and did his step back little Fade Away jum that he’s so good at um and then when Mitch Rob came back to that a little bit in the series he he he wouldn’t pass to him and when he did you know Mitch he can’t catch so good on the down low so I’ll leave it there man and and thanks a lot yeah I mean Mitch Mitch is who he is he’s a rim running big you know every everybody’s not gonna develop into just this allround offensive Talent some some guys are going to have their strength some going to have their weaknesses and you know for me number one he’s not a short-handed guy he’s not as coordinated at his build that’s just not his game and and it is what it is we we you can always hope for that but that’s just not who who Mitch is but for iHeart I think his ability to to play in this offense where you can run offense through him that gives the Nickson an extra Advantage you should be looking for as many advantages as you can get you’re going up against a Boston Celtics one through five they can kill you in some way shape or form in terms of spreading the floor and moving the ball around I that’s why I like iHeart right now in this spot more than Mitch short-handed he’s got the floater can make a quick decision when you put two on the ball I think that’s how the Knicks need to play give yourself an extra added advantage and yeah you know Brunson is not the best at finding his bigs and playing that two-man game especially the lob threat they they just haven’t been there well just is what it is I still think Mitch served a a a really good role call us up man 6573 831509 or you can hit us up on the kfv Discord a couple technical difficulties today but we’ve managed to get things stable we’ve stabilized things so on the Jaylen Brunson front Ian Begley shout out to our guy Ian Begley friend of the program we talked about this this this was reported earlier in the year from Steve Papa Newsday and that’s a fact that Jaylen Brunson could entertain signing a contract extension this year with the Knicks as long as four years and as much as $156 million so I’m going to play Ian Begley’s thoughts on this and we’ll react to it on the other side here’s our guy Ian Begley courtesy of s make make sure you guys are following him and my guys as well go ahead getting to know Jaylen Brunson a little bit over the last two years I fully expect him to listen openly to the Knicks pitch about him signing an extension this off seon and why that matters is because Brunson is eligible for an extension this off season as long as four years as much as $156 million if he waited this year out and then he became an unrestricted free agent his max contract would be 5 years 27 million so would be a big Financial sacrifice for Brunson to take this extension if he did it he’d be doing so uh putting the team ahead of himself and he’s already done that here in New York once uh with a contract his current deal is descending in nature so over the course of the deal it gives the Knicks a little bit more financial flexibility to go pursue players and also it gives it starts brunson’s next salary after this contract at a much lower number than it would be so he’s given the Knicks a big discount initially here on his first deal but if he did this extension it would just take it to another level because if you look at a three-year period with Brunson under this extension and a three-year the same three-year period for Brunson under a Max free agency contract it’s $37 million less over that three-year period And That Matters a lot for teams in the NBA at the moment because everyone’s trying to avoid that second apron second apron with if you pass a certain team salary level it becomes so punitive and it limits what you have the tools you have to go out and improve your roster so by Brunson forsaking this money you know the Knicks can bring back OG and anobi and Isaiah hartenstein and pick up buan banovich as option all on competitive deals for those free agents and you know still not have to worry about being too close to that second apron because in the in the years ahead I should say if Brunson takes that extension you know this team is going to continue to be expensive and as you get up against that second apron you know that’s where you really hurt yourself in terms of ability to bring in players so if Brunson does take that extension and again I think he will really go in with an open mind and I think that Knicks have a really really good chance of signing Brunson to that extension it it would be another instance of him putting the team above himself and a lot of players talk about that uh to me he does it you see it on the floor and if he does this extension it would be a huge example of him putting the Knicks and the Knicks ultimately winning ahead of his own interest shout out our guy Ian Begley make sure you guys uh follow him at smtv as well man putting in work in offseason this is our guy I mean that would be tremendous for the Nick and the funny thing is Brunson came here remember when Brunson came came here in his press conference he’s like I’m not the Savior here guys I’m not that guy don’t look to me to do everything well it’s his team and he’s been pushing all the right buttons making all the right plays teams winning number two seed second round two years in a row and now you’re talking about potentially making a financial sacrifice for the betterman of the team look he’s still going to be taking care of himself no don’t get me wrong he’s he’s still going to be set but compared to what he can get later on if he if he just plays this year out that would be a huge huge steal for the Knicks because we’re talking about here I’m just pulling Ian’s uh article up we’re talking about four years 156 as compared to 5270 and that’s a 30 up to potentially 37 or larger million dollars in savings so maybe he does a fouryear now has another opt out and then jumps back into free agency later on gets a big bag but just like Ian said as the salary cap increases each year you have the new TV deal set to kick in so when your limits are going to increase but your star player is taking a little bit less than his true market value and you thinking about that’s the aprons that’s tremendous that gives the Knicks tremendous flexibility to make moves down the road so that’s what you want and so that will be a big win man big win for the Knicks and according to Ian he he’s pretty comfortable in saying that Jaylen Brunson will definitely entertain this the the key date to lock in on is July 12th July 12th is when Brunson is first eligible for the extension so there it is July 12th is the date we sit we wait all right shout out to Manny man I I got you man Manny say he he’s up in the ceiling hang hanging stuff hanging up lights man so all right man we we we get we get what you say man appreciate the Super Chat uh who else we got here epic epicness 54 I think that’s stillo F out Super Chat says just finished up some summer grind stuff keep Rand keep ey try to keep OG contract below 45 million and look for Mitch bogy trade for a big Wing hey I gave you my wing name DeAndre Hunter de Deonte Murray deante Hunter DeAndre Hunter can we get it done what do you guys think man call me up 657 3831 159 or you can hit me up on the KF TV Discord let’s hit the Discord man in the members Lounge to the members Lounge we go my guy will from L is in the building will how you feeling bro will will going what do we have will all right looks like we don’t have will we go once all right well we we’ll drop you off man and go ahead and call back now mean tells you oh getting him a certified number two Mr Rose yes you do we do have to get uh Brunson number two but I think we have the guy and Le and let’s get into it here and that’s Julius Randall I I think it is Julius Randall but before we get to the 7 PM from Brooklyn um pod will from Li you back on the Discord I want to make sure I get to you okay yeah let’s go let’s go let’s go my fault Hey listen man hey if Jaylen Brunson really does give us a HomeTown discount I know they saying Kendrick the King of the West Coast hey jayen Brunson will be the King of New York City because that is huge in terms of flexibility shout out to them but um CP I just wanted to talk more about this IH heart Mitch situation you know and you know CU CP you know we go back to the old days when we had Frank ISO zoo and all them boys you know and then you had Mitch part of that so just to see that he is the oldest 10e Nick and to see him move it was always a little bit difficult but you know I can’t argue with the fact that once ihart got into the rotation I really felt like it opened up our offense to a different level that I never seen and potentially it can even be better and you know all you know mostly it’s just the durability that I that iHeart gives you so the fact that IH heart’s got is come I really felt that it it is a big it’s probably that Mitch is going to go because you just can’t have that much money in your centers but I’ll just say this CP do you think if we do trade Mitch no matter who the center is you know the backup center do you think that our defense will lose a step because I personally think that Mitch is a better Defender than ihart and I think that Mitch is so much of a good Defender that I don’t know if we’ll take a big step back but I think we might take a little bit just because you know I I feel like what Mitch does in terms of his offensive rebounding you know while ihart gives you I don’t know if a backup is going to be able to give you the same thing but you know we’ll see what happens I’m going to trust Leon what they do but I just want to leave you with that question appreciate you appreciate the call my guy stay up man enjoy the weekend we from Li always good to hear from you day one as day ones come for sure for sure for sure um will they take a step back defensively you know one thing about Mitch that I always loved is his intimidation Factor at The Rim you know when when Mitch is going he he’s got guys second guessing whether or not they want to take it inside ihart ihart is far from am Matador he still gives you solid Rim protection and gives you good effort which is which is half the battle but yeah I mean could potentially at the r i I didn’t think the Knick’s defense took that much of a step a step back rather when ihart was in there he can certainly hold it down but that intimidation Factor by Mitch would would sorely be missed but yeah I I think iHeart was fine man you take a look at some of his numbers here this is uh from cleaning the glass with the Knicks 95th percentile and differential man A plus 11 in differential was was Isaiah hartstein plus 24 unexpected wins this is an impact player man 94th percentile offensively in points per possession Nicks were seven points per 100 possessions better on offense when Isaiah hartenstein was in the game A Plus 4.1% effective field goal per percentage better when he’s in the game 97th percentile those are great numbers man they’re an efficient team with I hard this is efficiency here defensively teams were scoring minus 4.1 points per possession when ihart was in the game that’s 83rd percentile minus 1.9% effective field goal percentage so less efficiency when ihearts out there on the court 81st percentile his offensive rebounding percentage team’s offensive rebounding percentage when he’s in there minus 1.7% less so he’s a good rebounder he held it down but those offensive numbers man I think that’s that’s what you’re looking for across your lineup you look at what Boston was able to get you like that’s record-breaking efficiency record-breaking efficiency there so I think that’s the guy man you know all right somebody saying check uh Jake fiser video salute to everybody in the chat hit that thumbs up button for you boys this is what I’m talking about man this what I’m talking about send you got to send me the stuff so that we can we can react to it okay all right they they’re talking about uh they’re talking about OG all right this is jakee and Dan deine talking about ogn anobi and his contract situation so let’s get into it here let’s hear what they say I haven’t seen this yet I haven’t previewed this so let’s see see what they got to say how significant of flight risks would you say that those guys look like they are for New York at this point depends on who you talk to you talk to certain people they’ll say o anobi has wanted a larger offensive role dating back to his time in Toronto and getting to newor New York he has been a little mythed by being like the fourth banana to the Villanova trium Brant and that’s before Julius Rand comes back mry and then there’s the money stuff where Alle allegedly I mean Knicks have gotten there’s all the ca Nicks stuff and like Nicks have gotten a lot of team-friendly deals from CA clients doesn’t seem like that’s something o nobody wants to do so is there more money out there for him if Paul George isn’t available I definitely think the money is going to be there from Philly other scenarios I can’t speak so confidently about publicly right now but he’s someone that plenty of teams have wanted in the past if you want to talk about Portland dating back to the Dame M stuff and even after and could there be something with Sacramento and you know down the line like there’re could he’s a player that in theory plugs and plays into any wannabe Contender just like he did with New York and if it comes to the sign and trade scenario just to say what could open up there all right so that was um that was Jake fiser Yahoo sports Dan Devine and Yahoo Sports on the OG situation um I’m not really buying the unhappy with the RO self I’m not really buying that you know that he took a backseat to the Nova three I’m not really I’m not really buying that to be honest with you if he wants more of a role in the offense especially if he’s going to be signing this new deal of hey have at it it’s all yours and you’re going to be expected to perform and be healthy so what are you going to tell me he goes to Philadelphia what is he going to be he’s still going to be the third wheel behind embiid and maxi I I don’t I’m not buying that uh you know he’s some somewhat unhappy with his role so he could dip the money’s going to talk and I think the Knicks are going to move Heaven and Earth to get him and to keep him here it probably comes down between the Knicks and Philly then he puts the blazes in it he puts Sacramento in it signing trade Nicks ain’t doing that Nicks are keeping him the the Knicks are keeping him he sounded a lot more pessimistic on that I’m just not buying anything’s possible hey I don’t I don’t know the sources that Jak has anything is possible but I’m not buying that I think at the end of the day that you’ll hear that that the Knicks have signed OG for anywhere be between 35 and 40 per and that that’s just it it salute Q bro brother how you feeling zel zel zeli I I don’t really buy the unhappiness thing he beasted against Philadelphia they needed him he played well what more of a role was he looking for you trying to be LeBron he’s fine I I didn’t get I don’t get that I thought he played well against Philly his role was fine they got him the ball he knocked down shots was great in the mid-range great from shooting the three at 50% from the corners he was good what more did you need is this is Brunson team you go to Philly it’s going to be backi and embiid’s team I’m not buying that he that he needs to be the top guy somewhere JJ says does he want to pull a Jeremy Grant that was the worst move Jeremy Grant ever did I mean hey I guess the money was good you go to Detroit anytime you go to Detroit the money’s always going to be good ask Ben Gordon Charlie Ville and way I mean the the list goes on Monty Williams you go to Detroit to get paid I said man OG was so big in game six absolutely so you know that that’s that’s their opinion on it I’m not as worried honestly I’m really not worried I I don’t think the Knicks uh I I don’t think the Knicks will blow it I I really don’t 617 what’s your name where you calling in from what’s going on CP this is Matt I’m up in Boston Matt from Beantown you’re not at the parade man you’re not on the duckboats with those people absolutely not no chance hold it down hold it down for a second I did watch it on TV though okay it’s all right Sor right I I hate you man it’s it’s tough being up here uh I got a question for you so obviously L you know I feel pretty good about us keeping OG keeping iHeart you know fingers crossed those are obviously the priorities what do you think about a Randall extension at the end of the summer yeah well I mean based on who I spoke to based on speaking of Bobby marks it doesn’t seem like they’re going to come close to that number Ian Begley’s prediction was that they don’t get the extension done and from an Nicks perspective when they’re trying to maintain flexibility is it really a priority here for for a guy who hasn’t wasn’t playing in the in the playoffs last year wasn’t last playoffs wasn’t great either you have all these priorities from OG to iHeart does Brunson sign his deal early those to me all those are priorities I think they’re better off letting Julius play this thing out and seeing what happens at the end of next season May hey maybe maybe there’s a blockbuster trade in the summer that they need julius’s salary to to to um to orchestrate yeah that that’s kind of the way I see things going I think I agree with you you probably don’t want to extend them to keep that flexibility but then do you try to move them this season while you still have them under control anything’s possible but I’ve always felt like it it has to make sense has to make sense for the Knicks can’t just be you know trade them for for a couple of role players like you need star for star or star for Superstar type of deal right would you feel comfortable moving OG into that power forward slot in the event we did move r no not really not really yeah because we need boards and with OG’s durability or lack thereof I’m not sure I want him you know just always banging down low like that trying to get after it I kind of like OG at the wi what do you think yeah I especially with this report of maybe them looking to move Mitch to try to facilitate a trade I think rebounding is going to be a real problem if they don’t focus on it it was kind of luy for us for the last year year and a half yeah but uh if they start getting rid of some of these pieces uh might be scarce right I mean Julius is Ault he’s a double digit rebound guy man and and you know you have to I think that that’s one of the his more underrated skills because yes you can say that his effort on the defensive end isn’t always there but his ability to rebound does contribute to defense you have to give some credit there when you can keep a team off the glass from getting Second Chance opportunities and then you and then get out and run in your own right or or get yourself an extra possession offensively that does contribute to your defense he did finish uh 24-9 nine rebounds this year yeah yeah and as funny as it is uh watching Josh Hart go up and get these boards over these huge guys I just I don’t think that that’s uh what I want to be seeing 82 games a year yeah and and that’s another thing right be like with Josh Hart his wear and tear you know it it was great when he rose rose to the occasion he certainly did and to me I thought this was a year he really put the the New York stamp on his chest and he’s our guy but um I mean how good how great would he be just coming off the bench still closing when needed but just you know having a bit more in the tank when it when it comes playoff time I think that would be ideal yep exactly awesome thanks so much man keep up the great work hopefully one of these games up in Boston be competitive next season yeah absolutely we got to make the Trek man between between me Alex we we got to make the Trek up to Bean town I have a feeling they’re going to uh open the season against the Knicks Banner night a potential Eastern Conference final showdown Nick’s fully healthy Chris staps raising the ring in front of his in front of his whole team I don’t know I just thre Chris THS out there to make up a narrative a scenario storyline that’s not really there but I think it could I think they could open up against the Knicks what do you guys think about that what do you guys think about some of the questions he had in terms of OG playing the four moving Randall and OG playing the four extended Rand moving Randle OG playing the four what you guys think about that man leave me a comment in the chat and we’ll get to it okay we see some more people in in the members Lounge we’re going to get to the Randall interview sound bites in a bit salit to everybody in the chat like share subscribe number one show for the fans by the fans we are in here heavy suit to my guys man uh way too mellow on the Discord let’s go loud and clear very loud good CP man beautiful day in the city yes sir how’s the city looking today man summertime in the city how’s it looking I’m coming back from Jersey right now it’s beautiful out here it’s kind of hot but you know it’s all right yeah okay um so I just wanted to only thing I want to talk about is the OG thing you know I know everybody’s freaking out about if we’re going to trade for him oh pardon me if we’re gonna sign him or not and I just want to tell everybody we got to trust Leon Rose in the front office to make the best decision for the team if he’s asking for too much then we’ve all got to just understand that we’re not going to pay him too much and that’s just what it is you know like I I don’t think it’s a good idea to sign him to whatever he wants knowing that he couldn’t he could not only could he not make it through the whole season but after having months off because of the elbow thing he blows out a quad you know what was that six games into the playoffs yeah you know you have to think about those things people got to people got to Cal down him making more money than Jaylen Brunson is already going to be crazy so you know if we don’t get OG back I trust Leon Rose in the front office they’ll do something out they they’ll do something else they’ll figure it out they’ll sign him to whatever the best contract is for our team not for other teams so that’s just the way it’s got to be people got to relax like okay say Hest though you know I hope you got to calm the people down CP let them know they got to out with this o stuff man this whole 250 million for OG is getting out of hand I’m not gonna lie yeah I I don’t I don’t think it’ be that high man and appreciate the call man stay up in in the city and be safe out there I don’t think it’ll be that high but it’s going to be up there man all the reports are starting to come out 35 might be the floor we’ve heard mid-30s how many guys do we have on the show that say mid-30s mid-30s mid-30s I had I talked to my guy Brian giler from NBA Radio yesterday we were out on the NBA report make sure you guys are following us over there he thought 40 he thought 40 could be anywhere between that 3540 I don’t think the Knicks are going to drop the ball here man I don’t think they’re gonna drop the ball here he’s playing this thing out as he should to try to get every last dime and hopefully they they’re somewhere in the middle now what if you see veg in the chat says it’ll be 36 Within incentives what if Daryl M says you know what we’ll give you more upfront guaranteed don’t worry about that injury stuff we already got EMB he’s always injured also what if what if what if Philly comes with a more solid Ironclad contract without many incentives that could that could be interesting because for the Knicks I would like for them to add in some incentives games played minutes played is it playoff games played and and he get a certain bonus I would like for them to to get that to add those those Protections in there but I’m not I’m not worried man on scale of 1 to 10 I’m I’m really not that worried I’m like out a three honestly Larry Adams on the Facebook says no reason no reason to be worried man we good Fraser phase Fraser says we need Randall and OG on the floor together the proof is in the January pudding folks have squirrel memory for real for hey man our with this 35 mil per year he’s injury-prone I like him but I I think he’s in the mid 20s to 30 20s to 30s yeah yeah you’re gonna have to pay the plate man I mean what’s your backup plan man this guy changed the team around when he got here what’s your backup plan I agree but backup pan I think he I honestly think he’s going to be between 25 this is just the the negotiation part now but I don’t think I don’t see a team paying him that I don’t see a team paying him 35 million okay all right appreciate the call man call back anytime man I think there will be a team that pays him 35 million I some some of the local uh networks here you know we we won’t drop names we won’t say any names but this is this is a pretty formidable movement okay so on the podcast Wave car um Julius Randall met with our guy 7 pm to Brooklyn man shout out my guy the kid Mero shout out my guy Carmelo Anthony man two of my favorite guys and Julius was was uh on the show and let’s react to it man let’s react to it here’s a couple of sound bites that Peak my interests this one was Julius giving a status update on his injured shoulder let’s hear from Julius man here what he got to say man I mean you know we talked to about it throughout the process but uh I’m good I’m healthy you know I’m getting there it’s a process it’s one of them things that’s going to take a long time yeah and I knew that going into it uh but like I’m ahead of schedule I’m feeling good I’m healthy yeah you know what I mean I’ll be ready when the season start you know the fans like to hear a percent we a a percent I don’t even know what I’m know where I’m at it’s not 100 yeah I definitely ain’t there yet wow so Julie says that he’s a work in progress but how about this he’s not even 100 yet that was some injury man I mean remember remember throughout the course of the Season we’re like ah he’s going to come back you you had the the the Twitter doctors the YouTube doctors coming in giving us timetables three to four weeks it’s four to this weeks he’s not even ready right now he just had surgery couple last couple months ago he’s not even ready so I mean I I just go back to that time it was pretty funny when when we thought this was a nothing burger and that he was going to be right back then we were speculating if he was going to come back for the playoffs until we found out that that’s uh just not going to happen and this was more on Julius more from Julius on the injured shoulder when he found out that he he just wasn’t going to make it back man here’s Julie 7 pm. the Brooklyn podcast process leading up to it was really the battle cuz it was like I had to really go through the process to see if I could play or not and um to get to the point where it’s like man my body I’m like I just can’t do it you know what I mean like I um you know I’m hurting I’m just my my shoulder is unstable whatever it is uh I mean that was tough to like accept cuz I’m just like the type of person that’s like man I’m getting through anything you know what I mean it don’t matter so it was tough to accept uh but it end up being the best thing um and I knew going in to it the thing is like I knew going into it I’m like bro this is going to [ __ ] suck because I knew who our team was I knew you know what the guys brought I knew Jaylen I knew Josh Dante you know Z OG all those I knew we had a special group so M know you get to that point in the league where for me it’s like I’m entering year 10 it’s about nothing but winning you know what I mean so when you have those opportunities where you have a special group like that uh you want to take every year as like a countdown you want to take advantage of it so for me it was like man I don’t get that opportunity but uh that was real I I felt that one right there because like I said this year was going to be another what if season even though I like this niick team coming into the playoffs without Julius in terms of just being being successful and being able to get out the first round I stilla felt like they had enough and they did but it was going to be a what if season because you’re not at full strength we saw them 14-2 in January how dominant they looked and just like Julie said every year is not guaranteed it’s not guaranteed even making the playoffs is not guaranteed because you just don’t know how your season’s going to go it’s 82 games in the season it’s a marathon not a Sprint things can go wrong so you can’t waste but too many opportunities especially when you’re in the prime of your career and of course this injury was not julius’s fault but you can you can hear from how mentally debilitating it was to not be out there with your team and you know even even trying to work towards coming back that’s tough so I definitely felt that uh that comment there and here is more on Julius on the shoulder this was a good segment here about more of the mental toll that it took on him here’s here’s this clip here we go to explain some go through the process and I’m like bro like cuz when I when I made the decision like I’m talking I’m rehabing for two two and a half months like knowing that my my shoulder ain’t good but I’m like all right it was like a decision like all right do I play and know that I’mma Miss six seven months after we done playing so I probably ain’t playing until the next year and I ain’t good you know what I mean so can I help the team like I don’t think I can like I can’t even I don’t think I can get a rebound I can’t fall I feel like if if I fall my shoulder going to come out you know what I mean so it’s like I’m dealing with that but I’m also dealing with the part of man I feel selfish like I’m letting the guys down you know what I mean then it came to a point where it’s like man I don’t even want to be around cuz like I’m trying to work to come back but I feel like a distraction you know what I mean so it’s like I’m I feel like I’m Outcast I’m like bro let me just stay away they doing great like let me just you know what I mean and be around and support when I can so it’s just like I had to get out of my own way and my own ego and be like all right bro once I made that decision like you know I mean deal with it and keep moving and support the best way you can but that [ __ ] was tough man you felt that definitely felt that one because it’s like I said we’re here sitting here like yeah only takes two four weeks he’s all right get the surgery whatever whatever he was nowhere close nowhere close and remember the longer you prolong the surgery the longer it’s going to take to get back he’s not even 100% right now he’s not even ready and we talked about that the mental thing how do you change your game to now compensate for the fact that any slight move any Falls your shoulder could pop right back out there was no way he was gonna he was gonna he was gonna do that no way he could have done that and I there was a report that in prac practice or in the workout it he he did reinjure himself somewhat and that’s when he decided to fully shut it down so overall it was a good idea it it was just a good idea G5 we we in here salute man just a tough break no pun intended just a tough break CP the fanchise here we we are reacting to the 700 p.m. the Brooklyn interview Julius Rand Carmelo Anthony the kid Mar bro I still got to do the tibs one with uh roommates we’ll get to that one this this Julius one for me was a little more important especially with you know all the trade talk offseason stuff going on so felt like this one was more important to get to at this juncture in time but we will we we will do the reaction to the tibs interview McBride was on was on the pat Bev show as well we’ll do a reaction to that one as well probably move that one next week Julius and the fans this was a good segment here obviously this one pequ my interest you you guys know that so let’s listen to uh Julius and his relationship with the fans courtesy 7 pm. to Brooklyn here we go how would you describe your relationship now with the fan base because it feels like everybody was just kind of like you know what I mean like it’s like I mean some people still some people still live with that you know what I mean like they still feel way about that but I mean what can you do about it man you got to accept it and and move on that was just for me like I apologize like I laugh at that moment now you know what I mean cuz it’s just like I that moment was more about me than it was about anything else as far as what I was dealing with maturing as a player as a person you know what I mean learning uh not letting your emotions get the best of you like all those different type of things cuz like I grew up playing off of Just raw motion some dudes like I can’t be like Melo like Melo cool chill like I’m hot you know he got he probably hot temper inside inside but you know outside hot you know what I’m saying so for me it was just like I ain’t I and I ain’t in New York a different place too you know what I mean I ain’t used to like you playing like [ __ ] and I was playing like [ __ ] you mean so it’s just like I ain’t used to playing like [ __ ] then [ __ ] booing you yeah you know what I mean all that so it’s just like it was a new experience for me and like I’m coming off of it like man like like I’m trying to keep the energy up positive and then like I’m you know as a as a leader at a team you you got to deal with everything so it’s just like for me it was a new position of leadership it was a new position of everything like coming off of expectation that was my first Allstar the year before you know what I mean a lot of expectation coming into that year and nobody wanted to play better than myself you know what I mean and want the team to win better more than me so it’s just like uh it was learning I guess that moment for me was learning how to deal with failure you know what I’m saying like I wasn’t playing my best the team wasn’t playing our best and the fans was honest about it as they should be but it’s just like I had to learn how to deal with that great answer excellent answer by Julius man excellent answer yeah it was a family show but I I like that answer it was candid he was honest and you could see it even back then when all of that was going on and we were doing these shows we having heated debates man this is when you know Ashley was here julito and and and CK we was all going at it back and forth about the expectations of being a star in New York the heaviest jersey in the league we talked about it and here is Julius revealing to you that he felt like it was a a Learning lesson for him learning how to deal with failure the lessons that come with being the guy it is a hard job we saw it with Patrick euan the ice packs the back page of the newspaper you would think he was a complete bum the way we ran him out of town now he gets a lot of love starberry went through it mello’s gone through it and Julius had to learn he had to learn yeah some people say we took that some fans took the thumbs down a little too serious I don’t know I I was on the side where look this comes with the territory and y’all remember what happened off the strength of the thumbs down Mrs Randall had had some issues with kftv they thought that we were the leaders of of of the Julius haters and that we’re bring all this you know heartbreak to their family and all these people we’re bringing the people out of Pitchfork she blame kftv for that but some of you guys that are knew in the chat yeah there was a little history there that wasn’t us we’re just a conductors here fans have expectations that’s just what it is realistic or not the fans are the investors in the product they invest their time their money their energy in into the team they generate the interest this is how players get paid this is how everybody eats it’s an ecosystem so they got expectations and you’re going to charge you know Joe Smith season ticket over 30 years you’re gonna break a bottle over his head for for season tickets in the 300 section yeah he’s he’s going to have some expectations for that if you’re playing like a bum they’re going to let you know so Julius had to find out the hard way he found out the hard way but look at how he’s look at how he evolved this is it this is it he’s evolved into a guy that can now handle the pressure secondly thank God for jayen Brunson who’s come in here who can definitely handle the pressure and has taken a lot of pressure off of Julius Randall and I think that’s led to Julius having two great years back to back learnning experience I like that Lopez says I remember that yeah it was it was Heavy in it was Heavy over here I had Ashley in my ear like oh my God Jules and you know Mrs Randle in here like yo it was crazy man but we rather the storm it’s all love even on my end there was never any hate no Hate to this day to this day uh uh you know it’s cool with me in the Rand Camp he got Alex BL not me he hates Alex’s guts and I think he’s got Mack blocked too so I think he understands you know it’s all love over here baby that that’s it it’s all love I’m just a conductor you know but no I I did like that answer in all in all seriousness I I did like that answer okay couple more and and then you know Melo chimed in here and and again I thought Melo melo’s respon respon was fantastic this was a great exchange good conversation 700 p.m. Brooklyn podcast we are reacting to it the Julius Randall interview here was melo’s response in terms of uh the relationship with the fans as an athlete man is oh I’m saying this to say as an athlete [ __ ] go through so much [ __ ] man it ain’t just getting on the court go try to score 25 and put New York on your back like this is new to him man this man is from Texas right you you D yeah from like saying different bro different right so it’s these tall buildings and bright lights and Broadway and and Madison Square Garden I come from a slow slow ass Pace bro right that’s a different slow pace mind set that you got to be prepared for so I want to take my hat off and and give him his flowers because he’s dealing with it and I know how what it is to deal with that type of [ __ ] talk about it CH you you did that [ __ ] as the F the face of the team to both of my shoulders mhm told him I’m not getting surgery at all soon as I did it they say yeah Melo did the same thing yeah all right so that that was Melo and and I thought that was that was good perspective for Melo because he saw it firsthand you got fans still tip that Melo didn’t wait until free agency to join the Knicks where would we be if he did I’m on that side he still he still one my my favorite players of all time but I am on on that side like damn if you would have waited where where would we have been if we didn’t have to gut half the team you got fans still tied at Melo for the team not winning they did go to the playoffs three years in a row when he got here with Tony Douglas Shawn Williams Jared Jeff I mean who else who else do we have Sky Billy Walker remember Billy Walker we had Jonathan Bender chucking up Corner threes Sean Williams chucking up Corner threes who who else was on that bum team Nick stape was cool for a couple two years couple couple years he had Chum we had Jr then we then we got real we got serious with Sheed and and Jason Caden all those guys Pablo Kurt we brought Cami back hey had a run 54 wins so I give Mel a lot of credit team was a mess but they still made the most of it and like he said it’s a different animal man when you got to be the leader of a team who’s gone through so much years of Heartache pain mismanagement dysfunction losing losing losing losing and Julius is here like [Laughter] hey coming in from New Orleans the the the Dallas Texas kid I’m just I’m just here to play basketball hopefully we win nah man you gotta earn it you gotta earn it Julius earned it he earned a love rare addition Billy Walker was nice get out of here [Laughter] man Billy Walker all Billy Walker wanted to do was dunk on somebody he didn’t it didn’t matter if he took off from the free throw line for the three booy line from out of bounds all Billy wanted Billy wanted to do was dunk on you as long as he tried to catch a poster that was his night that was his one objective I wise is in here says I remember Jay Boogie packed Ashley up shortly after yo it was man that Julius TI boy it was half Fields versus the McCoy man Julius Hive suspected Julius haters everybody was going at it everybody was going at it [Laughter] yo that was a hilarious time man I’m not going to lie man was ton of fun one 100% fun so that was Melo and then lastly from this uh podcast just on the Nicks fromont they they go in on a lot of stuff make sure you check it out it’s an hour and 20 minute interview uh I’m not going to touch on all the NBA stuff because it’s not relevant to kftv but uh just one more quick quick Sound by from Julius on the on the fans I thought he I thought he wrapped it up nicely might have been a PR move but hey here we go you know what’s crazy man too is like you talk about the thumbs down thing bro it’s actually a lot of that bro like you’ll see what you think is like perception of like the internet and all that but bro like I live in a city so like I’m around I walk around all the time bro it’s so much love bro it’s crazy dog like y all that hate that people would think it is the internet is not real bro man bro I just bro on the way here you ask my boy on the way and that’s and that’s what I said even when that stuff was going down in in in when it when it was in its heat of julus versus the fans I just felt like the reactions on social media is a small minority to the real fans that he had within the fan base you can’t take people’s shock takes and and and disrespect and typing from Anonymous accounts and put much weight into it yes and it’s and it’s as a collective it can be hard to take and it can seem like oh man this is really they’re really coming down on this guy but by and large he had more fans than he did haters that’s why I didn’t agree when Richard Jefferson was like y’all hate y’all and he was talking all this nonsense I didn’t buy that you know they they highlighted the fans who ripped down his poster at MSG after the Knicks lost to the heat those were five losers who want to go viral young people who just who just Mak it trying to trying to get get famous that’s not an indication of who Nicks fans are that’s ridiculous but people always want to be like oh man you guys are so terrible to your players and all that listen we have expectations there’s going to be some who who are going to be loud and be detractors but for the most part we’re here you would you wouldn’t be having sell out Madison Square Garden thousands of people watching X fan TV year after year after year even when the team’s a loser if fans didn’t care fans care what do you want on to beat Charlotte Hornet fans I mean what are we talking about man so yeah so that was the Julia stuff let me know what you guys think man leave me a comment in the comment section or leave me a comment in the chat it’s definitely a good interview though definitely a good interview all right 682 what’s your name where you calling in from 682 hello all right disguise yo hey hey what’s up man you hear me yo loud and clear all right brother yo listen I’ve been a long time watching and all that type stuff and I watch you know I see people talking like that I don’t even believe I got through but it’s all good yeah man but anyway man I just think um we need to keep what we got okay you know what I mean I think like um even with Julius like the whole team and the squad and everything like I believe like we could build off the team that we have I don’t think that we should bring anything else in because I I believe if even what what we had we could have still built and made it to a certain platform without like you know what I’m saying without the injuries and things like that bidge and everybody I mean I’m not saying everybody but I’m saying I think to keep the core together and give Julius a chance give him a shot and everything he’s saying I respect you know I mean I’m um you know I’ve been born I was born in 74 okay so I’ve been around like the year year after the Nicks won a championship you know what I’m saying before the well whatever my thing is I never I never was I was I wasn’t here to watch them win the championship but I’ve been paying attention to you and everything that y’all been doing too like I said appreciate it and everything you know what I’m saying been respecting it told people about you apprciate and they’ve been watching too you know and I’m actually in Texas right now okay which which part you know what I mean I definitely love like what y’all doing and all that but at the end of the day I I still believe we need to fight with what we have I don’t think we need too much more you know what I mean I think that we can still move on and and and definitely get to the promised land at some point you know I mean that’s what we looking for know what I’m saying so appreciate the call man I just feel we need to just hold on to what we got and just if if if if anything comes up that makes sense then we make move but other than that you know we looking really good you know all right appreciate the call man where where where in Texas you at man oh I’m I’m in Fort Worth man and it’s crazy I’m actually on the line with you because I watch you all the time and [ __ ] like that my bad my bad it’s a family show it’s all right yeah I watch you all the time no family you hear me appreciate it man um you know like I said I put people on to you too you know what I mean but at the end of the day my thing is just to uh I just think like what we have you know we could add a little bit more you know not not too much well what do you want to do man you’re kind of you’re kind of speaking in cold what do you want to do what is the move that you want to do man give me a name I don’t really want to do nothing but I got my eyes on Paul George but what we gonna do you don’t like Paul George no sir appreciate the call all right all right he’s on my no he’s on he’s on my uh my no trade list he’s on my no trade list call back anytime my guy checking in from Fort Worth man definitely appreciate it Paul George is on my no trade list I don’t think it makes any sense for the Knicks I’m not trading assets for him he’s older injury prone I need somebody with some more fire like I need somebody with a little bit more fire right now I don’t need those names of yester year leave Paul George alone leave Demar D rozan alone leave Jimmy Butler alone Zack LaVine no that’s not the direction I’m going in right now that that’s not the direction I’m going in I think he stays with the Clippers or maybe goes to Philly now Shams is reporting that that uh Philly is not as high on him what do you guys think about that is a cap you know these these guys have a way of trying to sway the free agency talk what do you guys think man what do you guys think about shams all right a couple more here before we wrap up couple more things to react to somebody wanted me to react to this and this was outside of the Garden on 34th Street and 7th Avenue you got a Jordan brand advertisement featuring Jason Tatum don’t stop disbelieving he’s clapping at his haters Champion but it’s right by the garden it’s over Foot Locker right by the garden Nick fans are a little upset you know they’re insulted a little bit how could Boston do this right outside our building the disrespect CP you got to clap back you’re you’re our voice that’s what they said I’m just a conductor but all I’ll say is this is Madison Avenue nothing more nothing less this is dollars and cents Money Talks you got the money you can put whatever you want up there you could hit hit that thumbs up button for your boys up there put family show put Mitchy ain’t no snitchy whatever it is if you have the the the Bucks to pay you got it and this is right above Foot Locker so look I’m sure the Jordan and Nike reps put it up there knowing that it was going to tweak New Yorkers and Garner attention but that’s the point that’s the point of the ad they want eyeballs on there and not to mention that for the young fans that these brands are catering to the Gen Z gen Alpha fans who as a demographic are team agnostic these days as it relates to the NBA they’re more player followers this is a good investment for them I’m sure that that’s the way they’re looking at it dollars and cents capitalism that’s what it is man that’s all no need to uh no need to get offended man and like some people said it’s a reaction to this say the best way to clap back is to have the Knicks win Boston got their Rings they on top of the world man they got every right to do what they want to do has nothing to do with them but hey it is what it is you’re insulted by that hey hopefully the Knicks can turn it around and get some more wins so just it is what it is you know it is what it is uh a couple more here if you guys want to call up 65738 31509 let’s go to 917 what’s your name where you you calling in from 917 that’s me yes sir bro yes Pizza Hut how you doing peace CP how you doing bro good I just wanted to say I I I’m listening to everybody that say oh we don’t need to do nothing we don’t need to trade for nobody but they still want to like like bro what we doing here bro like everybody indecisive bro what do you want to do what do you want to do yo bro we don’t need yo bro let me tell you what I want I’m keep it a b i I feel like we on the same page we don’t need to trade for nobody bro like honestly bro like I think everybody that want to trade just started watching ball this year for real for real okay because look at what we just did in the playoffs with half of our team going in injuries bro that’s crazy bro and now we got Deuce we got people like deu and and uh uh and and Zade with the starting spot he all these people minutes Big Time minutes in the playoffs yeah now they got mad experience bro yeah I don’t think nobody realize that they got the they got the heart now we know all right bet next time we go to the playoffs I’m about to do this and it’s and that’s my role I know how we going to excel in my role bro I’m saying like I don’t think nobody realize who bojn bonovich is bro like that man been been he been a bucket for the past five six years yeah longer than that how what is he over 10 years at now right um he might be he might be about that man and appreciate the call like I get what you’re saying I get what the guy’s saying you know as is the Knicks have a formidable team but every year you got to look to upgrade if you can and that bogdanovich contract is going to be used as trade bait plan a rather than keeping him as part of the rotation Plan B he’s an older player injury-prone player we got to get out of the injury business no there’s no guarantees when you bring guys in but certain guys have a have a history bogdanovich has a history OG has a history Mitch has a history you want to kind of move away from that so bogdanovich you got to look out there and try to upgrade they need to get more athletic they need to get more Defenders more Wing depth so if you can trade him I’m all for it definitely all for it Sherman Wood appreciate it man appreciate it salute to everybody in the chat we in here heavy man spider Barnett salute checking in from San Antonio there we go all right who else we got in here oh I gotta Read Super chats man thanks for reminding me I gotta Read Super chats too I’m going to get to the super chats at the end of the show we’re almost done here just stay with me we got, 1400 people checking in on the YouTube stick around couple more things we we we want to discuss and react to and then we’ll get to the super chats no problem man hopefully you guys caught that interview with Kenny Albert you guys catches Kenny Albert interview that was a good talk yesterday me and Kenny Albert chopping it up definitely thought that one was a good one all right let me see what else we got here I’m trying to find it oh okay so so let’s let’s get into the worst take segment of the show this is where I react to some of the uh takes out there surrounding the Knicks and we’re going to rate those takes one being trash or worst take five being fact or great take and we’re going to start off with my colleagues here at SNY and they were talking about the um the Jaylen Brunson contract extension if he is to take it and what that would mean for the Knicks going forward what moves they should make going forward so this is salaka and Yan stry uh my co-workers at SNY and I say co-workers Loosely because uh they seem to not even call your boy franchise anymore to come up in studio but that’s another story for another day okay here’s these guys reacting to it and and in particular what the Knicks should do in the offseason is what I really want to react to here we here we are let’s let’s go Mitchell Robinson assuming he can come back and be healthy I’m bringing back Randle I want to bring back anobi I’m bringing back the cast letting them take a run at it see if they could stay healthy well you’re right about Brunson I mean that would be team first to the nth degree it’ be such a Jaylen Brunson type of move because the guy has gotten it right every step along the way as a New York Nick you could add that chapter to the list uh as far as bringing guys back I got start with o anobi for what he provides on both ends of the four shooting defense versatility I would tweak your suggestion with the bigs I like honstein a little bit more than Mitchell Robinson who cannot stay healthy and he’s got no offensive game I’m with you though I like the idea of bringing in a big who can go and stretch the four I like horten Stein’s chemistry though with Jaylen Brunson which was so obvious watching this postseason but I’d also be taking flyers on what’s going on in the trade market if there’s one guy I’m keeping an eye on one guy Jimmy Butler you trading Randall for jimmmy Butler and a heart yeah see I want to keep Randall now they can make these moves in season like they did a year ago I want to bring the band back if they can get on and Obi locked up bring back Randall and I think they have to make a decision and I think likely they will I think that’s probably how it shakes out all right I’m gonna I’m gonna post that but Jimmy Butler that dude has it I mean him and Jaylen Bronson look out all right rate that call in the chat one being trash five being facts worst take or is that a good take a great take if some of you my fanchise channel members throw a worst take Emoji in there if you feel it deserves that or or you can rate it with a number I think that’s a terrible take and John’s my guy John’s my guy Jimmy Butler for Julius no no no no no first and foremost we don’t need part-time players here we don’t need that I get it it’s playoff Jimmy he takes his game up a notch in the playoffs he’s still a tough player I get all of that the ship is sailed man I’m not doing that I’m not trading Julius 28 years old for for for an agent Jimmy Butler a part-time player Julius is 29 I’m not doing that for Jimmy Butler who never plays in the regular season takes games off also has injury issues and he’s 34 going to be 35 this season and then you got to pay him that’s old Nicks we’re not doing that we’re not investing in players in into the second half of their 30s come on John this is what I mean we we got to get away from the name business and just look at what they’ve done played 60 games last year 64 games the year before that 57 the year before that not doing it worst take ridicul yeah that’s Tomatoes worthy John come on man come on man come on time the sports night can’t be wasting the people’s time so that was that one now let’s go on to our friends at get up our guys Monica mcnut and uh the solo Han Solo Allen Han were on here and um the conversation was around if not the Celtics who’s the team that could make it back to that can make it to the NBA finals here’s Monica on that one here we go this is courtesy of ESPN’s get up if I were to say there will be a different team besides the Boston Celtics in the NBA finals next year which team would you tell me it was going to be New York Knicks would you care to expand on that oh I thought we just one word answers um let’s go a break right that’s it drop the hammer uh I think first of all we keep talking about health across the league right like if all these teams are healthy I think if you had the opportunity to see a healthy New York knck Squad I think there’s culture there there’s def there there’s a toughness there there’s just a pedigree I think Jaylen Brunson is continuing to ascend and honestly people forget J excuse me Julius Randle was a 25-9 guy was an Allstar in this league and did not play down the stretch of the back the back half of the Season yeah so I think they have the pieces and the identity what would you say Nicks too I I I lead with Nicks but it’s because what you said about the heat a healthy Miami Heat a healthy Knicks team a healthy Sixers Team all three of them are looking at the Celtics and saying all the same thing we could have beaten them if we were healthy and so that to me is going to be a big theme in the East next year it’s they’re now the hunted and you’ve got three squads that have the the talent and depth to do it to go after them and Target them but if the Knicks run it back as is I look at them I put them just ahead slightly they went through some pain physically but also emotionally about losing and I think that’s going to be a big rally cry for them all right that’s our guys Monica mcnut and Han Solo is it the Knicks rate that rate that take in the chat one being trash five being facts worst take or great take I think that’s a great take by Monica no homerism no no no pom poms but health is going to be the key factor here we’ve seen them in January but the thing is here I want to put the January thing on the on the side to a little bit Jan the championship doesn’t start in January it’s not about well you playing in January it’s about where you are in April and getting to April is hard it’s an endurance test that is why health is as as much as as a factor as it is who’s on your roster they got to be healthy but they did come together nicely in January we saw some flashes of what that big three could look like and I do think if they are healthy they will be the biggest Challenger to the Celtics even as is but you go out and make some tweaks to the depth fortify that bench unit how do you use that Bo down of a tree that is going to be a key in terms of offseason move what do they turn that into do they use a draft pick and can they get value out of a Draft pick on a rookie scale deal we’re not asking for crazy contributions here but somebody who can get in get some minutes and play smart play hard and be effective on both ends of the floor what do they do with the mid-level exception so those are the three things that I’m going to be looking at in terms of of proving that bench depth the banovic and berting for the most part was not successful so they’ve got to replace those guys and Shore up the bench now when you get into the regular season it’s going to be the health of Julius and OG that ultimately determine how far the Knicks can go assuming brunson’s there assuming Brunson is the constant that the health of Julius and OG will be the most vital component to the Knicks making it through the playoffs and through the Eastern Conference Finals so I think it is a good take now solo had Philadelphia and Miami Miami’s got work to do you know M Miami’s got work to do my and my camera just went out hang tight salute salute I’m right here let’s uh swing it down I’m having C camera issues man my camera’s just been glitching out uh might be just overheating man cuz we’re cooking right now on kftv I think Miami’s got work to do to get back I’m not counting out Milwaukee just yet and Philadelphia depends on who they get as their third guy if they get Paul George could be something there so the those two teams you got to factor in not a believer in Cleveland no matter what they do Orlando still not ready yet no matter what they do it’s Philly it’s the Knicks I’m no I’m putting Nicks Philly Milwaukee Miami I’m putting those four if if I if I had to do my Eastern Conference power rankings I’m going Celtics Knicks Philly depending on who they get Milwaukee Bucks that’s four you want a fifth team don’t want to get the paces that much respect we’ll see man I’m put the paces for right now put the Pacers health is wealth yeah I’ll put the Pacers all right d nice I’ll put the Pacers we’ll do that all right so there it is man great show uh we we’ll we’ll table it right here great show though man I thought we really got to it uh oh let me get to the super chats slow down CP slow down let me get to the super chats and uh and read those before we wrap up here and and maybe I’ll take a couple calls GQ I think I got that one let me see I got GQ um who else to boss man relax stillo I got that one okay let let me get through the rest of these hang tight Riad Rahim fight out Super Chat says Brunson taking four years 156 couldn’t form the next ceiling for OG’s contract no way you can pay a role player more than your top guy it all depends I still think O’s going to get that 35 to uh to 40 but I mean you know Brun and cealing contractually is always going to be higher you know I I don’t think Optics has much to do with it so out to Isaiah Jackson says trade OG Mitch and buan would would bet a nice piece trade OG Mitch and Buon we can get a nice piece who who you looking for got to be a substantial piece man it’s a big big package right there pa uh you’re fight out Super Chat says randle’s my power forward CP we got Paul George and as P talking about fit is more important than winning chips we already have our Championship Duo how does Paul George know he hasn’t won anything playoff P hasn’t won anything what do we do was playoff P talking about doesn’t wanton any championships yet Junior Koma 10 out Super Chat says salute my brother CP salute so happy iard stay but any updates on OG I’d be on Twitter I don’t see anything we we did talk about it so I think Junior’s Super Chat was a little bit late but we did talk about it Junior just rewind go go back and replay gang and Rewind Isaiah Jackson says let’s go rescue K to get ad yeah I don’t I don’t see any of those as realistic options just yet I mean after after ads experiment with JJ reic runs his course so you really going to be looking for him as a trade asset $10 Super Chat James Alba says if trading mitches and mo move thoughts on packing him and their $6 million trade exceptions to Memphis for Marcus Smart to run the backup point guard not a great shooter for for points per game Elite defense will be nice I have thought about Marcus Smart as a potential option I definitely thought about Marcus M as a potential option be tough to trade Mitch for him though but it’s like one of those things like I think he he can he can obviously he can run that second unit play tough defense what is Memphis really doing with him they’re not going anywhere even when J comes back tough would you got treade Mitch Mitch Markus smart that’s tough I don’t know I would I I would I would entertain a smart move though for sure I would definitely entertain picking up Marcus Smart for the bench for the bench point guard role more durable than Brogden too Julie fight out Super Chat says uh health is the most important could trade up this year for a good 3 andd player or use this year’s pick with bonov see what’s good with the tradem Mark has for sure I think that’s what they’ll do said that’s an easy trade not tough at all I do a lot of you would do the trade some say no D ni says no Joey stto says no may be tough need more for Mitch need a little more for Mitch Mike malado says Martin mitcher Smart in a heartbeat all right couple more 646 what’s your name where you calling in from yps Reese of Harlem Rees is back let’s go Rees how you feel good good man hey I’ve been doing a lot of self-reflecting the last couple days about Lori marketing and I have to say I still believe he’ll be great for the team I’m sorry okay okay I’ve been watching his I’ve been watching yes sir yeah I’m listening good yeah I’ve been watching his highlights and I’ve been watching like um review videos on YouTube and people have been showing me how great of a fit he is with this team like he’ll open this he’ll open it up so much for Jaylen Brunson that it’ll just click it’ll fit like a feel like a glove him OG and Brunson would easily be able to beat the Celtics ah yeah wait wait wait because he’s able to just just because he’s able to space the floor Randle can’t space the floor I I like it I don’t love it and he’s seven feet tall rand’s like 67 68 yeah what does that mean if he’s if he’s play soft man it it means because Rando he’s only effective when he has the ball in his hand he can’t he can’t catch shoot off the dribble I mean he can’t shoot um catch and shoot he can’t do that he’s more effective when he has the ball in his hand and that’s not good with a with a player like Brunson that’s true that’s why Mark Markin would be a better a better fit than Randle yeah but what’s their cealing I mean as long as he gives you like 18 to 23 points a game you don’t have to score 30 points a game you know as long as he’s he’s effective as long as he’s efficient with his shooting that’s all we need okay he averaged like he had like a 40% three point three point uh shooting last year Rand had like 31% yeah I’m not arguing that though Rees appreciate the call I’m not arguing that that that he can’t shoot he’s a good shooter I’m not arguing that I’m just saying what would their ceiling be I don’t know I mean the guy he he’s he’s on been on Cleveland they were okay they were fine went to Utah they’re not moving needles sure on this team with better play players is he going to play well sure I think he would I think he would fit well with Brunson who he guarding 917 let’s end with a different call man re ree is trying to sell me on this marketing thing three different times he’s calling on marketing 917 what’s your think where you calling it from Mike from Brooklyn Mike how you feeling I’m all right I’m all right I got a I want to elaborate on I like I like the mark and the move that he’s talking about but I’ve heard you say Murray Off the Bench yeah why wouldn’t you say marketing Off the Bench if you I mean if you could get marketing Off the Bench that’s a no-brainer easily all right so why why you don’t discuss that you don’t think we got enough picks and boy and Mitch could get a marketing depends what it no I’m here I’m here I’m here appreciate appreciate the call um is it realistic to think that the Knicks are just going to send a bevia picks for marketing to come off the bench is that what he wants to do you know like even when I say to bring jonte Murray Off the Bench I don’t that’s not realistic he’s still G to start when you bring him here but in an ideal fantasy scenario if Larry Markin is coming off the Nick bench I absolutely I’d make that deal but is it realistic to expect that and how many picks would a want for that four four picks Marlin small they have Walker Kessler well yeah that’s why you’re talking about picks you’re not really it’s not really the uh it’s not really a you know trade in a mitch that that would make a difference so let’s see you know he he’s he’s on there as a potential name what’s what the Jazz motivation is it’s not really clear anything’s possible man anything is possible man anyway folks great show thought we really got to it today man productive show as usual uh appreciate everybody for tapping in man over 13,400 people on the YouTube man at the lunchtime checkin amazing If we lose Mitch, should we see if Steven Adams is available?
Stoudemire injury was the biggest what if back then…. Man…. just sucks thinking about it now 😅😅. I had forgot all about that for a minute
But obviously this season was worse lol. I'm still standing firm on that hill that we was waxing Dallas in 4 if we were fully healthy. ZERO doubt in my mind
As for now we just gotta trust Rose. I think we do hold on to I Hart and OG but if we lose them I feel like we can still succeed. But I think those boys want to rock with us. They not getting that energy no where else. They know the world flips on its axis soon as that last horn sound when we win it all and they contributed. But either way we getting it done within the next 2 years. But this upcoming season is VERY Likely. Go Knicks!!!
With the addition of Caruso, Mitch would solidify their defense. Caruso, Dort and Mitch with SGA, J Will and Chet. If the Thunder are trying to get better defensively then Mitch should be the move for them. The Thunder are picking 12th. They dont need more rookies. They are ready to win. We can get a really good big @ 12 and reset the salary slot. I can't emphasize enough how we need to reset someone's salary slot. Financially, we need some rookie scale contracts to offset the big spending coming up. Mitch and 24 or 25 or both to OKC for 12.
OG will become a contract that will comeback to haunt us.
That proposed trade floating around sending Mitch back home sounds good too. Mitch and 24 for Larry Nance and 6. I'd do that trade in a heartbeat.
CP you the man! Can you consider doing a segment regarding all the veteran minimum viable contracts out there that can add depth / backup for our starters? There must be some gems in FA! KFTV aka knicks plug! 👌🏻🫡
Lol My thing is I get we don’t want to pay OG 35-40 M a year but let’s be realistic ..
There’s only about 4-5 other players in the league with his skill set as a Top
2way player. He was the key factor other than Brunson in that Philly series, he practically won us a game with that 4th quarter defense on Embiid… and ppl want to turn around and let Philly pick up that same player ? Philly has the money to overpay him !!!
We’ll be practically handing Philly a trip to the ECF at the least ! Like come on bro
"Yes this is Pizza Hut"🍕 lol
What happened to building with the homegrown talent??? Now we’re just average. What makes a team’s win so special, it’s when the rookies grow and win for the franchise. This is so disgustingly disappointing.
Love your show
Brunson is a true Champion🎉 Let's go Knicks…
Agree with CP keep away from yesterday years hurt part time stars: PGeorge, DeRozan, Levine etc!
Great show
Mitch unfortunately has to go can’t take the butter fingers and the trash offense that really hasn’t improved much since he was added to the roster
Taking the money now is smart for someone Brunson size. DRose got run down in Thibs system and IT got hurt and never made his money in Boston. Take the deal don’t gamble.
Is OG the new Kawhi
Y’all gotta stop wearing your hearts on your sleeves and face reality. I get it. We all love Mitch. You gotta be honest with yourselves. He missed 50 games and is constantly constantly constantly injured. He’s gotta go, sorry folks
So tired of players wanting more credit when they spend all season on the bench
Sign and trade og, trade randle and mitch. Use those pieces and picks to get bridges and jerami grant. Re-sign ihart. Draft the kid out of uva
Brunson is the man but can we find a point guard that can find Mitch for the lob? He gets 15+ points a game easy with the right pg running with him on the second unit. No diss to JB the Franchise. Plus Mitch's D and rebounding… you can't just kick him to curb, you'd be losing a major piece…
“It’s kinda hot but it’s Ight”
O.G might want a bigger role or even less stress on his body when playing. He already said he doesn’t play hurt in TOR and while on the Knicks. He might just want his money and not have to be put in a position to do to much
O.G might want a bigger role or even less stress on his body when playing. He already said he doesn’t play hurt in TOR and while on the Knicks. He might just want his money and not have to be put in a position to do to much. All these scenarios money is a huge factor not every player cares about fan love and what not. Get paid and keep it moving all players don’t win rings
