Should The Houston Rockets Trade The 3rd Overall Pick??

yo what’s going on guys this Houston Sports Talk Back another video day and today we’re going to be talking about if the Houston Rockets should trade the third overall pick before I get into this I want to know everybody’s thoughts in the comment section let me know right now do you think the Rockets should trade or keep the first sorry not the yeah their first round pick but their third overall pick um I think it’s going to be really interesting I’m going to give my opinion on it with a week away from or less than a week away from the draft um it is 6 days away from the second round 5 days away from the first round um it’s going to be interesting to see what the rocket do with this third overall pick I think there’s a lot of interest uh in the third overall pick the Grizzlies and the Hornets are interested there are a couple other teams that are interested want to say number one Hornets absolutely not uh because the Rockets thing has been is that they want to move that third overall pick potenti if they move it to get win now help and with the Hornets I don’t really see that I mean look I think the really the only guy that’d be worth trading the third overall pick for the you know to the Hornets is lamelo ball obviously he’s not available I mean Brandon Miller as well but he’s not available so I don’t think there’s really anybody on that roster that’s worth anything to give up the third overall pick um and you know and get a win now player there’s there I don’t think there’s anybody on that on that Hornets roster outside of lamelo ball um that can help this team right away and would be worth giving up the third overall pick so Hornets if they call you up unless they offer you a buttload of draft picks to get rid of the third overall pick no um and they want win now help boatload of drave picks doesn’t get you win now help that that sets you up for the future which wouldn’t be bad right um but the Grizzlies that’s not a bad one because the Grizzlies the trade I’ve seen that’s been mentioned is you know potentially uh you know giving up third overall pick and um potentially players like shock landel and Jan Tate and getting back pick nine and Marcus Smart that wouldn’t be mad I wouldn’t be mad at that one Marcus Smart helps this team win now Oka and rfel stone are big fans of him Marcus Stone Marcus I said Marcus Stone because of the GM but Marcus Smart has played some of the best basketball in his career under Emulan one season he won defensive player of the year um he was absolutely fantastic in their finals run Marcus Smart I think his best version of his career so far my opinion the best year of his career has been the one season under imaoka and I think he’d be great Off the Bench and to get him by only trading down six spots I mean you only have to to get Marcus Smart you only have to give up Jan Tate jock landelle the third overall pick but you get the ninth overall pick back so you’re basically you’re trading down six spots or five spots uh yeah six spots uh and giving up Jack land and Jan Tate for Marcus Smart and to get a player in the top 10 which the draft pick that the Rockets would probably select with pick nine would probably be Dalton kette because he adds in three-point shooting so I mean you you’d give up the third overall pick Jo land and jant J jant Tate to get Dalton kette and Marcus Smart that’s a trade I wouldn’t mind seeing if the Rockets are going to give up the third overall pick but like I think that’s really the only trade I I wouldn’t mind seeing the Rockets you know make to give up the third overall pick because I don’t think there’s any better players the Rockets could get for that third overall pick this is not a great draft this is not a draft where you know teams are dying to trade up I think there are teams like the Grizzlies and the Hornets that would like to trade up maybe the Blazers as well but at the same time there are teams in my opinion who are absolutely dying to trade up and would give up I mean a crazy compensation to trade up yes teams would like to trade up and would be willing to trade up and and give up stuff for a potential trade up but they’re not going to give up crazy packages now I think Marcus Smart and pick nine is the best thing the Rockets could get for pick three and a couple players like J sha Tate and jock Lando and that’s something as a Rockets fan I wouldn’t mind at all Marcus Smart helps his team win now um obviously Dalton kette I think makes a great impact I think he’s even good I think he’s going to be a good player because he’s a great three-point shooter um he’s also one of the best scores in this draft so I think he’d be a great addition as well that’s another reason why I don’t mind this trade and moving back to select him um but outside of that potential trade I just mentioned I don’t see a lot of other potential mock trades that I really like because all the other mock trades for this Rockets team giving up the third overall pick you got to give up a absolute you know you young star for this team like it’s c got to give up cam Whitmore Smith Jr uh this trade you avoid giving up any of your young players yes you decline getting a new Young player and adding in the third overall pick but at the same time you get Marcus Smart who will help you win now and still get another really good solid young player like Dalton kette and avoid you know avoid giving up any your young players like tar een uh cam Whitmore amen Thompson Jabari Smith Jr Jaylen green some of the guys that have been asked for in some of these trades giving up the third overall pick where the Rockets are trying to get a big player don’t have to do that in this trade which is Big um so I think this is really the only trade I wouldn’t mind seeing the rockets doing um to get the you know to to to get rid of the third overall pick so honestly my opinion is look I think you either do the trade with Memphis or I’d rather just see the Rockets keep this pick and you know draft Reed Shepard with the third overall pick because I think he’s a great addition because the rockets need defense good defense and good shoot shooting um and Reed sheeper provides both he average almost three steals for a in his freshman year shot over 50% at like 53% so um let me know your thoughts and what you think the Rockets should do but I I don’t mind I don’t mind either but I don’t think there are a lot of good trades out there for the Rockets to make outside of potentially adding in Marcus Smart or I mean yeah there are probably good trades Rockets can make but I think Marcus Smart is the only trade for the Rockets where you don’t have to give up a big young star or potential upand cominging star for this rock ETS team that you know no one wants to see go um so with that being said uh let me know your thoughts and peace out go Rockets
